He did a great job sharing the history, culture, and local character of the area while keeping the tour relaxed and enjoyable. The day was well organized, and we really appreciated having the opportunity to see and experience so much of this beautiful part of France without ever feeling rushed. Gilles was attentive to our group and made the experience feel personal rather than like a typical tourist excursion. Gilles was a fantastic tour guide for 6 family members. our tour was of Aix en Provence, Cassis, and Notre Dame du Garde in Marseille. we all agreed this was the best tour of our 10 day trip to the Italian, French, and Spanish Riviera! Gilles gave us plenty of time to explore Aix and gave us a detailed history of the area. On the road to Cassis, he took us to a spectacular scenic overlook of the village and the bay. He brought us to an amazing restaurant where we got a taste of the local cuisine. on the way back to our ship, Gilles brought us to Notre Dame du Garde where we had a spectacular view of the city of marseille. he also took us inside the cathedral, where we were able to enjoy its beauty. Overall, Gilles was an excellent tour guide who was patient and understanding of our needs. would most definitely book with him on another tour when we visit Avignon. He was very easy to communicate with also.

Our tour guide went above and beyond. I messaged him a day before that my mom’s medication was left in the luggage where it was missing in the airport. He helped us get that medication on the day of our tour. He is very knowledgeabe and helpful to us. I would recommend him 100%. We had a very nice time.

What an incredible day. The sights were absolutely amazing and we could not have had a better guide than Gilles. It was like having an old friend taking us through beautiful Siuthern France. I would definitely recommend to any future cruisers coming to Marseille.

Our guide Gillis was waiting off the ship with my name right on time. He was very energetic about his country and explained our itinerary for the day. We toured Provence and Cassis. He arranged a spot for our lunch as we walked around. We had a nice lunch on the beach. We continued to hit all the spots on our itinerary and many great stops for senic views and pictures. We had a great day in France.

Gille was so accommodating after our cruise! He picked us up from the port and took us to the most fun and beautiful places of Marseille, Aix en Provence, and Cassis and then dropped us off at the airport. Was even able to store our luggage in our van throughout the tour. He was also very friendly and great with our kids. Highly recommend!

Gimles was a fantastic tour guide who was friendly. He took us all around his marvelous town of Aix-En-Provence and Marsaille. So much history and culture to see. We had many stops and got to eat local cuisine. The views were amazing but mostly, Gillis has to be the kindest person ever.

Gilles is amazing. With him "anything is possible". We saw amazing sites with his great knowledge of the history in the area. He knows everyone and showed us an excellent France! Aix en Provence, Casis, and Marseille. A lot for one day but Gilles energy was great and infectuous.

Gilles was an awesome guide. Took us through Marseille and then to Aix en Provence where we walked around and enjoyed some treats and coffee. It is a beautiful city, unfortunately it rained and rained hard. Then we went to Cassis and took in some breathtaking views. Halfway through this tour, I got an email that our tour of Monaco was cancelled for no reason and Gilles stepped in and after many phone calls, got us booked for half the price with another tour! It was MUCH appreciated so thank you, thank you Gilles!!!

Had a really enjoyable day with all our wished-for places visited. There is a 6yr old with us as well as seniors. The needs were varied but Gilles was very accommodating so we were able to explore the calisson factory (grandchild's fave activity for the day) and the scenic Cassis and Calanque lookout for the oldies. Then he took us to the Notre Dame top where we enjoyed 360 degree view of Marseille, ending the day with a drop off at the Illusions place in Marseille for the younger set and at the closest parking spot to the boat at the port for the oldies. Gilles curated a lovely day consisting of a brief stop in Aix en Provence and a fantastic tour of Cassis and the surrounding area. We hiked along the cliffs which was amazing, then spent a couple of hours in the lovely town of Cassis where we ate lunch at a great restaurant on the beach and wandered around the charming town. We had a great day and Gilles was a good guide! Highly recommend!

Paid over $900 for the “tour” only to be picked up by a taxi driver and dropped off at each location. There was no tour. Taxi driver told us Gilles had another group of 6 for his van so he set us up with him? Taxi driver was kind but was no tour guide worth paying $900 for. I wrote to Viator and they state that Gilles had vehicle troubles which is why he set us up with the taxi. Totally a lie. They denied any sort of refund because they said I did not contact the tour operator when this occurred and because we tipped the taxi driver. It was not the taxi drivers fault Gilles double booked himself, why would we not pay him for his services?

Mr. Gilles was wonderful - he was caring and trustworthy. He allowed us to modify our tour as needed, based on my family’s needs throughout the course of the day. We visited beautiful Aux-en Provence, Cassis and Marseilles, which were all beautiful but Cassis was particularly busy with tourists on holiday and the local vendors and restaurant owners were not as helpful there. Wonderful tour and HIGHLY recommend!

There’s a lot to see. Maximize your time accordingly. Guille was a fantastic host. He was so caring of me and my family. His knowledge and love of the area comes across and made the experience memorable. I highly recommend him.

Gilles was amazing! We were able to go to several places we couldn't have done with limited cruise excursions, or done on our own- we were able to see Aix en Provence, Cassis, AND a few places in Marseille. Gilles knew where to go and gave us time to enjoy each area. We saw SO much but didn't feel rushed. He was able to meet our ship, which saved a lot of time on commuting from ship to town. He even met us with a fresh croissant! He knew many people along the way, and knew the best views and places to go. It was such a great day and so worth it!

We had a group of 7 with little kids and Gilles was very accommodating. He has a great easy going attitude and went above and beyond for us. He was flexible with our schedule, which was important with kids. He made our trip more enjoyable!

We had the most amazing experience with Gilles! He was a wonderful tour guide taking us from our ship to Cassis and Aux en Provence. We stopped at a winery, the most picturesque lookouts, & enjoyed lunch at an excellent restaurant. He ensured we returned to our ship with plenty of time. Highly recommend!

OMG. Do not go to France unless Gilles is your designated driver! It was our first time in France, so of course we booked a wine experience, but didn’t book a car…well Gilles to the rescue!! Not only did he take us. He stayed with us while we did our tour and had lunch. He was so informative on all of the places we should visit in France. He was absolutely a gem! He is family now. This is an amazing tour that packs in so many highlights into just one day. My family of four was staying only two nights in Marseille and this tour helped us make the very most of our time. We started in the morning seeing the top four attractions in Marseille and enjoyed amazing views of the city and surrounding area. In late morning we headed to Aix where we walked the quaint streets visiting shops and stores and finishing up with a cappuccino at a lovely street side cafe. In the afternoon we headed to the sea side town of Cassis. On the way we’re visited the Calanques National Park, driving to the highest point to enjoy the overlook with Cassis and the Mediterranean Sea below. It was truly amazing! We took photos of our family with the breathtaking scenery behind and below. We finished our day with a stroll through Cassis enjoying a wonderful meal in one of the many restaurants that line the marina. Cassis is a magical town which surprised with its delightful streets and boat filled marina at it center. We finished our day with delicious gelato treats. Our driver Giles was a wonderful guide who provided us with a truly memorable day in his comfortable Mercedes van. We have used Viator many times over the years and this is one of our best tours ever and one we will definitely remember. Thank you Giles!
