Great food tour. Guide was very knowledgeable about the area and the food was delicious. Last stop was a bottle of wine. May need to nap after.

Itinerary
Marseille’s old town is raw, colorful, and full of stories. You’ll walk through its narrow alleys, past spice stalls and old stone façades, tasting your way through a part of the city that still feels deeply lived-in. We start sweet and simple: breakfast at a historic pâtisserie that’s been shaping local baked treats for generations. Flavorful, and made from scratch. We then take it up a notch- literally. A rooftop stop with a glass of local nectar in hand and a view that makes the whole city make sense. As you wander deeper into the old city, you'll be surrounded by the smells and spices of the entire Mediterranean Sea. We wrap up with a spread of local food - honest bites that Marseille has been perfecting and a degustation of rosé finishing with the delicate flavors of Provence backcountry. You’ll taste seven Marseille specialties.

Sabrina was a wonderful guide! She took us to local places to eat that showcased the variety of food available in Marseille. Definitely full by the end of the tour.

Our Foodlover Tour - Marseille Old Town Food Tour was excellent! Our guide "Mateo" was very knowledgeable about the area and showed us many interesting local foods, a Biscuiterie, Winery, food markets and the highlight for us being the Ciel Rooftop Marseille! (Magnificent view of Marseille will enjoying delicious local Pizza and Ricard!) We would highly recommend this tour and very thankful to our wonderful guide Mateo!
Amazing tour and delicious food! Tour guide did a fabulous job! My family with 3 children enjoyed it very much.
I planned a solo trip to Marseille, and this tour was the most perfect addition! The stops are very perfectly planned out: giving you time, good portions, and wonderful insight into the area and the cuisine. Rocio was the best guide; she was super knowledgeable and friendly, and even gave restaurant recommendations for the rest of my time in Marseille. If you want to meet people, try amazing food, with amazing views -- do this tour!
The tour guide was very knowledgeable. We tasted French pastries, taste of local cuisine, local red wine and some African snack. The black vanilla ice cream was also very tasty.
Just wanted to say that our tour with Rocia was by far the Best of our entire cruise from Barcelona to NYC!!! She was so in tune with our needs and led us through the town with poise and information.. The roof top pizza was the highlight of the tour for sure... I would HIGHLY recommend Rocia for anyone who is looking at this tour for sure. Bring your appetite as there is lots of food!!! Sean and Corrine, Canada...
We had a really excellent tour with Rocio. The tour was curated to our pace and Rocio gave us a very informed history of Marseille, pointed out notable buildings and architecture, along the way to our various stops. One highlight was the roof top restaurant we visited with a spectacular view of the city. We would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Marseille.
Absolutely the highlight of our stay in Marseille. Our guide Sophie was hands-down fabulous, knowledgeable and fun. Perfect mix of traditional, eclectic and up-and-coming Marseille, with stories to go with it all.
The tour guide was very friendly but we spent much of this tour being herded into stores to go shopping. At one point we walked right past the opera house without a single mention of it but spent half an hour in a soap shop. I had no interest in shopping and spent much of the tour standing around outside stores waiting for everyone it was very disappointing. The food stops we had were lovely though. I did several walking food tours in various cities on this vacation and this was the only one I did not enjoy.
We were five middle-aged Danish guys on the tour, and it quickly became one of the highlights of our trip. Our guide Sofie, half Marseillaise and half Swedish, brought the Scandinavian sense of “Hygge” alongside her pride and passion for Marseille. Tasty food, local encounters, and great tips for the rest of our stay made it a truly memorable experience, which we all highly recommend.
More than a food tour, this was like visiting the favorite places of a Marseille resident and having lunch with a friend. Rocio also gave us plenty of her recommendations for other restaurants to try and places to visit to get the best out of Marseille. I wish we’d done this tour on the first day of our visit !!
It was an unforgettable experience. We loved getting to know Marseille through its gastronomy. Highly recommended. I won't forget the pastis and the view from the beautiful rooftop! Thanks to Rocio for making our visit so special.
I loved this tour! Sophie was so knowledgeable about the area and the local foods. Our group was a fun mix of people from around the world. I loved that it was a small group. We got to taste a lot of the local food and drinks. I loved the rooftop bar! I would definitely recommend!
Had a great time and was very full by the end of it. Definitely bring your appetite. We had 9 people in our group and couldn’t even finish all the food. Sofie was our guide, and she was amazing! She gave a lot of great info about the city and area. This was an excellent snapshot of the city with some great recommendations to check out afterwards too. Highly recommend!
Our guide Rocio was wonderful and the tour was informative and the tastes of foods from across the city were wonderful- a nice mix of sweet and savory items. The rooftop patio experience is not to be missed- a beautiful view of the entire city.
Rocio is an absolute joy!! She shared so much history, culture, and context about Marseille while also sharing insider tips on the best restaurants and things to do in the city…. Not to mention the food!! I am so happy to have experienced this in Marseille. I cannot recommend this tour enough!
Great experience from the coffee and croissants in the beginning to the bistro samples with a glass of wine at the end. Our guide Rocio was friendly and informative. We were introduced to Ricard Pastis and a beautiful rooftop lunch with a view of the city. We visited small shops with Mediterranean themed foods and goods. Additionally Rocio provided us with some of Marseille’s history food related and in general. I definitely recommend this tour.
The Old Town Food Tour with Food Lover Tour Marseille was the perfect way to discover the city’s culture through its cuisine. Our guide Rocio was knowledgeable, engaging, and made the experience feel personal and fun from start to finish. We tasted a variety of local specialties, from pastries and cheeses to a hearty lunch in a historic sailor’s tavern. Along the way, Rocio shared fascinating stories about the old town, including stops at a centuries-old pharmacy and one of France’s oldest hardware stores. This tour goes far beyond food—it’s a rich, immersive look into Marseille’s soul. An ideal experience for curious travelers who want to connect with the city in a meaningful (and delicious) way.

This food tour was one of the highlights of our time in Marseille! Marine, our excellent guide, took us on a flavorful and engaging journey through the Old Town, especially the vibrant and multicultural Noailles district. Walking through its lively streets, filled with colors and scents from around the world, was an experience in itself. Midway through the tour, we were treated to a stop on a rooftop with absolutely breathtaking views over the city — a magical pause that gave us a new perspective on Marseille, both literally and culturally. The food was outstanding throughout: a perfectly curated mix of local specialties and international influences, with high-quality ingredients and great variety. Every stop brought something different and delicious. Marine’s knowledge, warmth, and storytelling made the whole experience feel personal and enriching.
