Itinerary
Your guide will greet you and introduce you to Marseille's 2,600-year history as France’s oldest city, founded by the Greeks, and set the scene at the city's lifeblood, the Vieux-Port.
Taste the classic street food Panisse from L'Estaque, crispy fries made from chickpea flour, served with traditional Provençal sauces like Aioli or Rouille.
Dive into Marseille's "Must try”: Tapenade (olive paste), Pastis (the quintessential anise-flavored apéritif), and our famous secret dish.
Join a local sommelier for a superb tasting of Provençal wines (primarily rosé, but also red and white) perfectly paired with local cheeses.
Stop to admire the elegant, Art Deco facade of the Opéra de Marseille, a symbol of the city's ability to rebuild after the great fire of 1919.
Choose between the creamy Tarte Tropézienne or the Calisson, the diamond-shaped candy from Aix-en-Provence, and learn its royal legend.
Savor half a Croque Monsieur, the simple and perfect French bistro sandwich, and hear the story behind its "crunch gentleman" name.
Visit Le Four des Navettes, operating since 1781, and taste the Navette, a boat-shaped, orange blossom biscuit tied to the city's religious tradition and the feast of La Chandeleur.
Conclude the tour at the spectacular viewpoint near the Abbaye Saint-Victor. Your guide will point out the two imposing strongholds, Fort Saint-Jean and Fort Saint-Nicolas, and the colorful Le Panier district.

Perfect experience. Loved it.
Super food tour with Jon / Jean for port of Marseille. We enjoyed history, culture and local food!! Walking from meeting point to finish was about 2 miles. Our guide was friendly, informative, and prepared. We recommend this introduction to Marseille for your upcoming trip.

Fun way to see Marseille! The food and wine were great and filling. The guide was knowledgeable and very positive. The rest of the group were fun to be with. I highly recommend this tour!
Couldn’t have v wished for a more enjoyable and informative tour. First rate.
Jean was very knowledgeable about the city, he gave us a very local experience! The food was great and we did NOT leave hungry aha. Would definitely recommend as a way to explore the beautiful parts of marseille! The meet point was slightly confusing as the English translation on the mail doesn't match the French. But once we found the link to the pin on the map everything was fine!
This tour is a great way to learn about the culture of Marseille, taste different kinds of wine, pastis (anis) apperitif drunk by adding water, cheese, chocolate, French biscuits, and you don’t want to miss the croque monsieur, delicious. Our small group’s first stop was to taste “panisses” which replace french fries in Marseille. I had so much fun and learned a lot on this tour with Kristina. She is very knowledgablle about the history of Marseille and their culture.. I didn’t see the time fly, honestly. I recommend.

Kristina was a wonderful host with lots of interesting stories on Marseille and lovely food stops
Knowledgeable and interesting guide. Very interesting information and tasty food/drink. Highly recommended!
I had a fantastic food tour with Jean. He was friendly, knowledgeable and clearly very passionate about Marseille. Being a local, he was able to weave in lots of interesting history about the city throughout the tour, which really brought everything to life. He also had a great knowledge of food, having previously run his own restaurant in Marseille, and we visited some really good local spots. The wine and cheese shop (with a very knowledgeable owner) and the aioli were particular highlights! Jean was happy to answer all our questions and had lots of useful recommendations and tips, including places to eat in the next few days. A really enjoyable tour with a guide who clearly knows and loves his city - highly recommended!
Our food tour in Marseille with Jean was incredible. We learned so much about tge history of Marseille, and we got to try a lot of good food and some wine. If you like food and wine, this is the tour for you.
Excellent tour by guide, very knowledgeable and good selection of local food. Especially the Cheese and Wine.

Great food tour! Kristina was very helpful and knowledgeable. 10/10 would recommend! We tried a big variety of foods that we otherwise would have never known about!
The tour and Jean were great. It was a great overview of authentic Marseille cuisine from savory to sweet. We enjoyed the Panisses and wine and cheese stop so much we went back on our own on other days for more.
Guide 가 친절하고 답변도 잘해줌. 이것하면 점심 안 먹어도 됨. Marseille 사람들이 Paris 사람들보다 친절한 것 같음. I recommend this experience strongly. Our guide, Jeane, and his assistant Marie were great.
Knowledgeable guide, great variety of food and drink. We went to places we would have missed if we were walking on our own. The guide loves the city and knew a lot about it.
Jean provided a wonderful tour of Marseille, both through food and through his extensive knowledge of the history of the city. I learned so much important information that deepened my enjoyment of Marseille and all of the food was delicious and fun to try.
