We chose the all day bike tour and it did not disappoint! I was a little concerned about it being all day and driving on traffic filled roads, but our guide was great…and it was so much fun! The beauty of Marseille was definitely experienced and we were able to fill our need for cultural touring of the area, exercise with all-day sun on our faces, and stunning nature. Cindy was AMAZING! She recommended a fantastic restaurant for lynch towards the end of our trip, and broke bread with us! (She even gave us local places to eat for dinner). Such a perfect day! It went by in a flash!! Best excursion of our trip to the Med. Our guide was phenomenal (Elaina). This is a must do!
We arrived in Marseille via cruise ship in early April 2026. We are a family of four with 2 boys (11 years and 14 years old) and despite being an active family we did not have a lot of experience riding bikes (and no experience with e-bikes). Two women joined our tour however ended up not progressing as they did not feel confident to ride. Hank our guide was helpful and made sure we were all set up and provided us an overview of the day. At times it was a little daunting riding on the road, dodging pedestrians, navigating hills, and cars however once out on the Calanques it was beautiful. Overall the day was enjoyable and we have some great memories and some near misses ;-) We feel like we covered alot of ground/attractions and Hank provided us with alot of knowledge about the area. Transportation provided from the port was efficient and I feel the tour was fairly good value for money. The distance/length was really manageable for us however I would caution those who don't feel comfortable riding in traffic (despite the locals being very accommodating to us tourists on the road).
**People from the U.S. — Please Read Before Booking This Tour** If you are booking this as a shore excursion before your cruise’s all-aboard time, timing is absolutely critical. What sounds like a fun excursion can quickly become very stressful and risky. First, this tour is **not suitable for casual or occasional bike riders**. You will be riding alongside cars on very narrow roads, with long uphill climbs and steep downhill sections. The description saying “average fitness required” is misleading. In reality, this is closer to an endurance activity for people who bike regularly or train frequently. I consider myself reasonably fit, but I was exhausted after only two hours. We arrived at the designated pickup spot on time, and the pickup instructions were clear. However, our group was combined with passengers from another cruise ship who arrived **1.5 hours late**. We waited because our guide, Henk, assured us there was still enough time and that we would not miss any part of the excursion. Unfortunately, the tour started 1.5 hours behind schedule. After about two hours of riding, we only reached Notre Dame. At that point, we were told we would not make it to the Calanque — which was the main highlight of the tour for me — because I was allegedly “too slow.” The proposed solution was simply to drive us back to the port from Notre Dame. No alternatives or compensation were initially offered. I honestly do not believe this tour can realistically be completed within the advertised 5-hour timeframe, especially with breaks and varying rider abilities. We tried contacting Emanuel, the operator, but even the guide struggled to reach him because of poor phone reception. When I finally spoke with him, I suggested a reasonable compromise: since the tour had already started 1.5 hours late and one of the bikes had a puncture, perhaps we could be driven to the Calanque and then returned to port by car. He refused and blamed me for delaying the tour by “two hours,” even though the guide himself stated it was closer to 15 minutes. Importantly, the other members of the group did not feel I was excessively slow. Several actually believed I was being unfairly blamed for delays caused by poor planning from the operator. As someone who does not bike daily and was trying to ride safely on roads with no bike lanes while cars sped past, I did not think riding slightly slower was unreasonable. What shocked me most was Emanuel’s attitude. He told me he did not care about my experience because I was “leaving anyway,” then effectively abandoned us during a prepaid excursion in a foreign country. It took several minutes for the reality to sink in that we might miss our cruise because of this situation. To make matters worse, my brother’s bike also got a puncture and required pickup assistance. Once it became clear we would receive no help from the operator, we arranged taxis ourselves, managed to visit the park independently, and returned to the cruise port on our own. Eventually, our money was refunded before I filed a dispute through Viator, but the experience was still extremely stressful and disappointing. What should have been a memorable excursion nearly ruined our trip and created unnecessary anxiety, extra costs, and logistical problems. After this experience, the overwhelmingly glowing reviews for this operator no longer felt believable to me.
Although we enjoyed seeing the beautiful sites in Marseille and hearing about the culture, economic conditions and the history of the area, the Electric Bike Ride itself was, at times, uncomfortable. We literally rode our bikes alongside heavy traffic due to a limited number of bike lanes. Tourists are not paying attention to their whereabouts all the time, so you also need to navigate around them to remain safe. We would have preferred a shorter excursion riding through parks than the route the tour guide took us.
Great way for cruise passengers to see as much as possible in a short amount of time. The tour was very well organised from the port pick up and drop off to our fantastic guide Cindy who had great local knowledge. She took us to the most delicious bakery to buy our picnic lunch which we ate in the most stunning location in the Calanques national park.
They pick and drop you off to the cruise and make sure we are there and back on time. It was a wonderful experience overall, friendly group.
Marseille is a busy, hilly town to bike. The bikes give were good. The guide, Stefan had no patience. He was going way too fast for our group. We could keep up but others in group not so much . One lady fell 3 times and another had two flats . Stefan was frustrated but some of this could have been prevented with better instruction and empathy for all in group. Stefan kept asking if we had any questions but never offered much information - as a guide he should have been the one telling us about sights not us asking him .
This was an amazing biking tour through the streets of Marseille as well as along the coast. Our guide, Stefan, had great knowledge about the history as well as how to navigate the streets of the city. We enjoyed amazing views, learned about the city and enjoyed lunch from a local bakery.
This was incredible - our favorite tour that we have been on. The guide was very friendly and helpful. The sights were beautiful and we learned a lot. Highly recommend!!!
Cindy was excellent, getting us around and giving us neat and interesting bits of information. The e-bikes are the way to go, letting different people in your party use as little or as much effort as they want, and they definitely helped going up the steep hill to Notre Dame!
Rating is zero waited 2 hrs with no show. Emmanuel is a con artist and said every time we called he’d be there in 15 minutes.
The views were incredible. Cindy was a great tour guide. Some may think ebike does not require exertion, but these did. You had to pedal up mountainside to reach 11000 feet to the topmost point. We had to ride in traffic which was stressful. Hit a pot hole which caused me to get a flat. The owner did not provide all the tools needed nor came out to assist Cindy to fix tire and my husband and his friend had to change the tire. Tour not for those with knee issues or respiratory issues. If ur afraid of riding in traffic and construction this is not for you.
The tour guide was great, Cindy. However when we had issues with the bike. A flat tire, the owner refused to meet us and swap out the bike. After several calls to the owner he never came to assist. In my opinion that very poor customer service. My husband changed the tube in the tire himself. The guide wasnt equipped with the proper tools and pump to inflate the tire. Once tire was changed we couldnt get the electric to the bike working so he peddled all the way back. Note: the tour is very strenuous and not for those with physical ability to bike 25 miles approximately. Also the bikes are not a true electric bike, peddeling is required. Its like a hybrid
It was fun, in spite of 25 mph winds. But I would caution people that the portion of the ride through the city streets and sidewalks is very congested with moving and parked cars, trucks, buses and pedestrians. But the ride along the water, away from the traffic, was great.
Unfortunately our excursion was canceled due to weather. Very disappointed, but out of our control. I am rating this highly because of the customer service. They advised us of the cancellation and refunded our money without much effort on my part.
Excellent tour and great company to work with. We originally had a pick up at 0930 which was changed to 0900. We missed that message, as it was not transmitted via messages, Whatsapp or email. It was only sent via TripAdvisor. We missed the tour, however the company was very accommodating and gave us choice of a half day or full day tour. We elected to do the full day tour. The tour was amazing and extensive. The guide was very knowledgeable. Highly recommend E-Bike Tours Marseille!
Great way to see the city! Guide was awesome! View from Cathedral was worth the hill! e-bikes are really fun!
We were met by Alexia and Isabelle at our ship exactly on time when we disembarked for our adventure. we were not exactly sure what to expect and did it ever exceed our expectations. We driven to their base of operations in the old port and given an orientation on the bike as well as take it for a test spin. The bikes were great and even pedaling up hills was relatively easy. Alexia and Isabelle were amazing guides and made us feel at ease. We stopped at different intervals and points of interest were explained. We were able to see sights that you could never see on a large tour bus and we had a lovely lunch at a restaurant on the water in a quaint fishing village. By time we were finished we felt like old friends with our guides.
Highly recommend this tour, had so much fun great way to see all the sights in a day. Our tour guide was lovely and knowledgeable. I enjoyed every part of the trip. Beautiful place Marseille
My husband and I just returned from Europe and this was one of our personal favorite days. The full day tour really gives you so much to take in and enjoy! We have already told so many friends about the tour as well as travel mates who wanted to hear all about it (and possibly booked after we did!). Highly recommend.
We love E-bike tours and have been on many across the globe. this tour and guide was no exception. The downside to the trip were the guests who should not have been on bikes! One lady could not ride a bike at all and should have been sent on her way, made the rest of us very anxious throughout the tour and kept the guide busy trying to keep her safe. Besides that, a wonderful experience in a truly beautiful coastal city.

It was a great tour of Marseille. Because I was the only person who signed up for this tour, they did not do this particular tour, but instead we bike all over Marseille. It was fine, at least I got to bike and see the city. Great experience.

A fun way to experience Marseille! We were a party of 4 adults. We had an awesome day biking around town, to the beach and Notre Dame Church on the hill. We had lunch at a quaint restaurant on the water! It was definitely the highlight of our Mediterranean cruise! I would highly recommend this excursion to friends and family that are able to ride a bike comfortably! Our guide Ludo, Louis was awesome!

Absolutely the best way to see Marseille and it's beautiful surroundings.

We spent an excellent day with a great guide, listening to our expectations and who knows his city and its history!! Thank you manu for this beautiful visit on this day of Sunday, March 17, 2019 I recommend this activity to discover Marseille in the most beautiful way , made for everyone and this effortlessly!!!
We had a wonderful time with our Super Guide MANU who made us discover Marseille and its beautiful beaches, its parks, La Sainte Mere, its good restaurant, by electric bike that Happiness. Without any fatigue. Beautiful sunny day. Must recommend
Excellent guide with lots of knowledge of Marseille, recommend absolutely, absolutely little effort on the pedal to climb the hills of Marseille
excellent experience! family tour with 4 with our guide Alexia. swimming, excellent lunch in the restaurant recommended by e-bike tours, adjusting the ride according to the visits we had already made, and Alexia made perfect first aid for son who had fallen (he was distracted!). we really liked the experience! really easy to adapt to the electric bike, and this allows a much longer hike with the kids. thank you!
