Jerome was an enthusiastic and engaging guide. He provided a fast moving tour interspersed with information about the sites, historical background about the region, and suggestions of what to do the following day. It was a very well rounded and well conceived tour.

Itinerary
This vast cobblestone square unfolds beneath the towering Gothic fortress that once housed the Popes of the 14th century. Even from the outside, it stuns with medieval drama and scale.
Right beside the palace, this Romanesque cathedral has stood watch for nearly 1,000 years. The golden Virgin atop the dome is one of the city’s emblems.
A beautifully landscaped park with winding paths, duck ponds, and cliffside views over the Rhône, Mont Ventoux, and the Pont d’Avignon below.
You don’t need to pay to visit the bridge—its best view is from the ramparts or riverbank, where its truncated span across the Rhône becomes a symbol of legend and loss.
A quieter, shaded square near a 14th-century church, filled with terrace cafés. It’s slightly off the tourist trail, making it a favorite with locals who want a slower pace.

Clement needs experience as a guide. We’ve taken many tours and always loved our guides. This one wasn’t up to par. He lacks personal interaction skills and story telling. He’s good on facts but not sharing his views of Avignon. We love this city and appreciated some of the details we learnt but the details lacked color and context. He doesn’t know how to lead a group or make a presentation
Our tour guide, Jerome, was outstanding! He was fast paced, which we wanted and received, as well as a very knowledgeable 'historian' of the town. We saw the popular sites as well as several sites that were not at all mentioned in most short descriptions of the town.....very insightful. Great recommendations for restaurants and shopping needs along the routes. And, he had perfected the spots for stopping in shade during a very sunny, warm day....appreciated! Definitely recommend Jerome and this tour.
The tour started out very good and we were very excited. However, as time went on, we did not end up seeing that much of Avignon and did not end up learning that much about Avignon.
Itinerary was good and appreciated guide meeting us at our hotel next to the Popes Palace. We were disappointed that there was no tasting offered at all. Our tour was not a full two hours. Not good enough for the price.
Excellent tour hosted by a very knowledgable guide!
I would say this was an informative tour, but did not wow in ways other tours have. Although there was only my husband and I on the tour, it felt like there was no real personalization or connection which we have experienced with other tour guides. For a large group tour and without paying too much, it would give you a good overview and history of the city.
Jerome is an outstanding guide. Our private tour started near the city gates across from the Avignon train station. We walked through much of the city along back streets, away from the crowds. Jerome is very knowledgeable about Avignon's sites and its history. The tour went past the Palace of the Popes, Saint-Bénézet (the bridge in the song Sur Le Pont d'Avignon) where he talked about both. Avignon has a long history of Jewish residents including during the time of the popes. Jerome explained what life was like for them during that time. Our tour ended near the center of the city. I highly recommend this private walking tour. As someone with ancestors from Avignon, I appreciated Jerome's deep knowledge of the history of the city.
We really enjoyed our tour of Avignon with Jerôme. He showed strong historical knowledge with a clear and entertaining delivery. The tour was well structured, the pace was comfortable, and he offered practical suggestions for restaurants and places to visit afterwards. Definitely worth it.
An excellent tour! Our guide Jerome made it very enjoyable, he shared his knowledge of the history, highlights and very useful tips about activities and cafes. We felt very welcomed in this lovely town
A great and highly comprehensive review of the city and with Jerome you get a little extra spin!! don’t leave home without him lol
Great experience. very well done , informative in many ways ... particularly because of the tour guide Jerome!! he's a pro, don't miss it!
Thank you Ana for the great walking tour! Truly had a great walk with the family around Avignon. Also appreciated the restaurant recommendation 😊
The walking tour of inner Avignon was just terrific! Jerome was wonderfully entertaining, personable and informative! His knowledge of the history benefitted from him living in the main area of the tour. His energy and enthusiasm were infectious. We would highly recommend Jerome as a tour guide as well as the specific private tour that he provided.
Jerome was a knowledgeable and wonderful tour guide. We overslept and he was very kind and met us closer to our hotel. He tailored the tour to our interests. He speaks English very well and was so interesting to listen to and learn from. We wish the tour was longer!
Jerome is so personable and passionate about sharing history and cultural information! He was able to work with us to make the tour work for my husband , who walks with a cane. Highly recommend this experience!
The Avignon walking tour was super chill. The guide mixed history with local stories in such a fun way. Perfect way to vibe with the city — highly recommend.
It was well worth the price, our guide, Jérôme, was very knowledgeable and took us all around the city including some very unique places. His passion for the city and the history was evident and engaging. Would highly recommend, especially if you only have a short time in Avignon
It was a great tour with Anna! Lots of great places visited and get a lot of information about the city. Great organization 😀Thank you Anna
