Classic Yacht Sailing In Cannes

Our 2 day, 2 night experience in Manurau was fantastic. The beautiful 1985 Swan 43 raised salutes of admiration from other sailors wherever we anchored. The timber finishes are a craftsman’s delight and the hull has fantastic headroom. My 8 yr old grandson quickly adopted one of the upper cabin berths and snuggled into it as his cubby. As sailors from Australia, we elected to have skipper without crew and contributed to the work of running and sailing the boat. We helmed for much of the time when local knowledge of reefs and shallows was not required. Our skipper, Alexis was a wonderful host and adapted to our requests in all respects and even enjoyed playing Nintendo FIFA with my grandson. Alexis dutifully took the cooking responsibilities despite the heat nearly cooking him ! Food and drink were plentiful and good quality and catered to our requested menu (allergy requirements). As we sailed in mid-July, 2026 during the extended heat wave, the wind was fickle, but day 2 we had a nice 8 - 10 knots of wind for our sail back to Cannes for the Bastille day fireworks. Alexis picked the coastal lifts well, so we made 5 knots on the return and arrived to get front row anchorage for the fireworks. The awning was deployed at anchor to provide some relief from the sun and the swimming cooled us off between drinks. All in all, a great experience, but I will try and pick a cooler weather window next time !!

We had an incredible afternoon with Alexis on the beautiful yacht. The sailing was perfect, he shared all kinds if interesting history along the coast and then we parked between the islands for snorkeling, swimming and padel board. And of course a wonderful lunch and wine! We loved our time on the sea and can’t wait to do it again. Merci beaucoup!!

This was the most magical experience! Francis and Nico were wonderful. We sailed around the islands, snorkeled in the sea and learned so much about the history of the area. It was relaxing and truly a lifetime adventure. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys a great view, revels in history and welcomes the company of outstanding hosts!

This trip was simply incredible. The crew were amazing, communicative, and informative. The highlight of our honeymoon. Cannot recommend enough.

This vintage sailboat was a great experience on the water. It was built back in 1948. It was very laid-back in the crew was very knowledgeable of the area. I would definitely do this again.

We enjoyed a wonderful morning sail around Cannes. What a perfect way to see the local sights. Alex was very responsive on WhatsApp and great with our kids.

This was my favorite part of our trip! The crew was friendly and knowledgeable. There was a sailing regatta going on while we were out and all boats had to be older than 1950 to enter, which was a lot of fun to see. We dropped anchor near the Lerins islands and had a wonderful lunch with wine. My dad and I took a dip in the sea as well. Overall, wonderful experience!!

Alex and Josh were absolutely fantastic! So accommodating and communicated every detail to make things so smooth, even during yacht week! The boat was amazing and so large. Alex even gave us some history and knowledge of the city of Cannes and the coastal islands. Brunch was delicious and my wife and I ate almost all of it! I could not recommend this enough for anyone who wants such a unique and incredible experience! We will be doing this again when we come back!

If you are in Cannes or Nice this is the boating tour you should go on. Excellent captain and crew, amazing trip, perfect day.

The experience was great and it was the best way we could celebrate our wedding trip. Alex’s classic boat is the best way of experiencing sailing in Cannes. The way he planned the trip is excellent because you have time to try sailing but also stay in the water for some swimming. The snacks were a bonus, and he brought a delicious quiche made by his wife! Totally recommend it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fantastic experience! The boat is beautiful and Alex the captain/owner was a wonderful host. He was very knowledgeable about the area having lived there for 17 years. It was a perfect combination of relaxing and doing your own thing or interacting with Alex and crew to learn more about Cannes. After a sail around the islands off of Cannes, we went snorkeling in a stunning area near one of the islands. The water was clear and calm, very enjoyable. They provide snorkeling gear and towels, which was very convenient. After snorkeling, they provided a lovely lunch of quiche, fresh fruit, cheese, and pastries. I highly recommend this experience and want to bring other family members back for a sail!

What a wonderful afternoon we spent sailing on this beautiful yacht around Cannes. Alex and Josh were fabulous friendly hosts, delicious snacks and drinks and just a lovely memory created spending time together as a family. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or book again….

From the first moment we met Alex we were struck by his friendliness. His respect for his boat and experience at sea was obvious and made us feel comfortable. His knowledge of the history and geography of the Cannes area was very interesting. He prepared, along with his mate Josh, a beautiful spread of light foods and drinks for us to enjoy. He encouraged us to try the warm water at a location for swimmers and had equipment such as noodles, board and snorkeling paraphernalia. We really enjoyed our time on the boat sailing the French Riviera and highly recommend this company.

Absolutely outstanding trip with SailCannes. Alex is an experienced captain and has beautifully restored his classic yacht. We sailed for half a day and felt like celebrities cruising the spectacular coast line of the French Riviera. Great snacks, wine beers and drinks on board as well as snorkel and SUP equipment provided. Alex gave the boys a turn at sailing too which they loved. We loved anchoring at Ile Sainte Marguerite to snorkel with an abundance of fish. Such a special experience and one we will not forget. Thanks Alex and Josh!

Alex and Josh were awesome! We had a gray time sailing, snorkeling, paddle boarding. The views were incredible, the water was crystal clear and the weather was perfect. Would highly recommend this excursion for a small group looking for a trip they’ll never forget!

Captain Alex and his 1948 vintage sailing yacht was the highlight of our Cannes experience. What an absolutely lovely way to spend a few hours exploring the harbor and islands. A light charcuterie board and some local rose’ was an unexpected treat. Alex is a world-class sailor and and interesting gentleman—someone we enjoyed spending time with—thank you!!!

Wonderful excursion! Here to celebrate my daughters graduation from university, our first time in Cannes and sailing. Alex and Josh took great care of us. Very gracious hosts and knowledgable about the area. The scenery was beautiful, the water refreshing and the spread of snacks delicious. It was a perfect last day for us. Hope to be back next year!

Having never sailed, this was an amazing experience. Alex and Josh took us out and around the bay, then settled off the shore with the most amazing blue water. Lunch, wine, fruits and music, set the tone for a perfect event. We didnt want it to end! This is an excursion we highly recommend. It seemed we were the envy of the bay. We even had a local motor up to us asking questions about Alex’s classic sail boat.

Alex (and Josh) were exceptional and accommodating hosts who are friendly and informative without being at all intrusive. They prepared us a beautiful light lunch and kept our rose topped off throughout the outing. It was a wonderful, private, romantic trip. I highly recommend it.

A super chill day sailing around the bay, snorkeling, and indulging in some fine French cheese, homemade quiche, fresh bread, and Rose wine. Alex is an awesome captain. The Algue, a classic yacht built in 1948 has been impeccably restored - truly a labor of love. This was one of the most fun days on our cruise along the Cote d Azur.

An absolutely brilliant afternoon out on the boat. Alex and Josh were so welcoming and provided us with a wonderful trip, and went the extra mile to make it a birthday to remember. The boat was amazing and the views they provided of Cannes and the surrounding islands, along with information about everything we were seeing. We sailed for 1 1/2 hours and stopped between some islands for some swimming and paddle boarding, and were met with a charcuterie board of cheese, meats and homemade hummus when returning to the boat. Beer and wine all included too. Had such a great day and we will definitely be coming on the boat again.

We had a great time on the this beautiful sailboat! We took the paddle board out and went snorkeling around Île Sainte-Marguerite. Alex had charcuterie that included delicious home made hummus! We would do it again if we come back to Cannes!

It was perfect: a sunny day with nice people, a wounderful Tour on board of a cozy, beautiful sailing yacht. You get information about the area and a nice stop with a bath in the Mediterranean Sea including a delicious picknick. Thank you again for this perfect day!!!!!!

Captain Alex and first mate Josh were excellent - both in sailing skill and their welcome to us. We were six guests on the boat and had a wonderful time. Highly, highly recommended.

A group of family and friends were lucky enough to come across Alex and manage to book a full day with Alex and Jason. We met them in Cannes and then sailed out past Ile Sainte Marguerite to a beautiful anchoring which allowed us to enjoy the beautiful azure waters of the Mediterranean sea. Alex and Jason provided Snokle gear and SUP which ensured that adult and child alike were entertained. We brought our own tunes and hooked up to their speakers and after some time enjoying the water we treated to a very tasty and varied lunch including quiche, chicken salad, cheeses, charcuterie, breads and fruit all washed down with wine and beer which was not in short supply. The boat itself is a juxtapose of a more romantic and pure time when compared to all the modern amenities wealth has on show in Cannes. It has a purity of purpose and a character that you are drawn to and cling to as the whirring helicopters try to wrestle your calm from you. Alex and Jason could not do more for you once aboard. All our family and friends said it was the best part of our holiday. High praise indeed. Book the Algue and create memories that will last a lifetime.

My husband and i went onto the beautiful sailing yacht Algue for a half day. Very friendly reliable captain Alex welcomed us and took us to between the islands in Cannes where the most clear water is! It was just relaxing and amazing to swim in that beautiful tarquoise blue water! We could also enjoy the paddle board which Alex has. He served very nice aperitif of French charcuteries and cheese, fresh fruits, and rose wine which made us even more special. I really recommend to enjoy the French riviera on the Algue and would like to go On-board again next time.

We had a fantastique evening on Alex boat with family and friends , with such a great apetizer. We will do it again definitely cause the atmosphere was just amazing and the view incredible in the bay of cannes, thank you for that souvenir.
