Liquid Gold, Rare Honey & Warm Welcomes We begin our gastronomic morning with a delightful burst of energy and a wonderful, smiling welcome. This is a private, curated tasting of the region’s most prestigious liquid treasures, held in an elegant venue dedicated entirely to culinary excellence. You will savor exceptional, first-press extra virgin olive oils that taste like pure sunshine, alongside rare, raw honeys sourced directly from protected local hives far from the tourist crowds. Depending on the morning's best market arrivals, we will pair these with perfectly aged, artisanal cheeses that melt in your mouth. This is a rich, exquisite, and deeply joyful wake-up call for your palate, served with the flawless care of high-end conciergerie service.
The Vibrant Heart of the Covered Market Next, we step into the lively, colorful energy of Avignon’s famous covered market, a bustling morning haven where the city's top food professionals and most passionate chefs gather. The atmosphere here is wonderfully effervescent, filled with laughter, local accents, and beautiful aromas. Right in front of the market's iconic, breathtaking green wall, we will share a moment of pure conviviality. You will bite into a warm, deeply savory, and beautifully caramelized slice of artisanal pissaladière—a traditional onion, anchovy, and olive tart crafted to absolute perfection. It is the ultimate, mouth-watering symbol of Provençal comfort food, experienced like a true local insider.
A Secret Courtyard of Pure, Organic Refinement We then push open the doors of a hidden, boutique workshop where the senses are instantly treated to the highest level of craftsmanship. This elegant space is dedicated to hand-made, ultra-natural beauty botanicals crafted on-site with total passion and zero chemicals. Surrounded by these delicate, soothing scents, a clean, private, and highly exclusive tasting table awaits our small group. You will indulge in a vibrant spread of beautiful, plump, and perfectly cured green and black olives, served alongside crispy, golden toasts and three distinct, freshly prepared tapenades of unparalleled quality. It is a sophisticated, sensory experience that celebrates purity, clean living, and the bright, sunny flavors of the South.
The Prestige Art of Wine & Cheese Pairing A magnificent highlight for wine lovers and connoisseurs alike. We enjoy privileged access to a prestigious wine institution founded in 1900, world-renowned for its legendary cellar and elite standards. In this refined and historic setting, a top-tier wine expert welcomes us with open arms and a fantastic, celebratory spirit. You will be guided through a flawless, educational masterclass pairing bold, smooth, and perfectly balanced Rhône Valley wines with premium local cheeses. Each cheese is selected for its intense, deep character and impeccable aging process. This is a sophisticated yet incredibly fun and relaxed session where world-class bottles meet the authentic, uncompromised soul of Provençal viticulture.
Near Place des Carmes A Chef's "Light Lunch" of Culinary Emotion Take your seat at a warm, beautifully set, and authentic local table that proudly refuses any industrial shortcuts or mass-market compromises. Here, the chef cooks with love, joy, and a deep respect for the land, creating a fresh, Mediterranean morning lunch made entirely from pristine, seasonal ingredients. You will feast on a savory, masterfully caramelized sun-vegetable tatin tart, accompanied by a delicate, flaky artisanal tartlet and a crisp, vibrant green salad dressed to perfection. Everything is washed down with an exceptional, hand-selected glass of local wine that perfectly elevates the meal. It is a generous, healthy, and deeply memorable dining experience filled with laughter and pure culinary emotion.
A Sweet, Crispy Secret from a 16th-Century Oven To conclude our marvelous morning journey on a high note, we will share a delightful sweet treat as we stroll through secret alleys or relax in a quiet, sun-drenched neighborhood garden. You will taste a genuine Oreillette—a crispy, golden, and delicately sugar-dusted Provençal pastry that practically floats in your mouth. This sweet masterpiece is crafted by a legendary local family whose baking secrets have been passed down since 1931, using a historic, vaulted oven that has been firing since the 16th century. It is a perfect, crispy piece of history and a beautifully sweet, good-humored finale to our luxury tour before we return to the vibrant main square.

First of all, every complimentary thing you read about Zahra is 100% accurate! She is friendly, personable, well informed, and prepared. You could not ask for a better guide. The tour itself has plenty of delicious samples in multiple locations. We did not feel rushed but neither did it feel leisurely -- there was literally a lot of ground to cover so be prepared with comfortable walking shoes and to be on the move. We did sit down at a sidewalk cafe for salad, goat cheese with bread, and wine which was all part of the tour. Very fun -- highly recommend!!
Zarah was an extraordinary guide and taught me so much about Avignon despite living here already. Her taste is impeccable and all the places she chose for us was perfect. I took my mother for a day away and it was the perfect excursion. I recommend Zarah wholeheartedly!
My 3 friends and I were visiting Avignon from the US for a Rhone/Provence wine trip and our first event upon arrival was this food tour with Zahra. It was the best way to be introduced to the sites & tastes of the region. Zahra is a wonderful tour guide who was so friendly, knowledgeable and was easy to understand. During the tour, she gave us insight into the local history, architecture and culture as delicious bites and wine of course! In addition, Zahra gave us advice on great towns to visit, restaurants to go to and wine regions to try during our 9 day trip. I am so glad that we booked this tour and plan to contact her the next time I am in the area.
Zahra gave us a great tour of Avignon. Top tip: do this on your first day because she gives you good ideas on where to go and where to eat (and not to eat!). Definitely recommend.
Zahra is a wonderful ambassador for Avignon and France. Today’s tour was fantastic! She began with some local history, then led us to several shops to introduce us to the region’s delicacies. We sampled a variety of treats—a smart move, since we’ll all be going back to buy our favorites! Time flew by, and after lunch we walked a little farther to discover some of Avignon’s secrets. I highly recommend this tour!
Highly recommend this food tour with Zahra. She is an excellent guide. We visited streets and local businesses of Avignon that you would probably never find as a tourist.
Zhara was extraordinary. We enjoyed a wonderful variety of food samples and the specialties of local artisans before having a sumptuous lunch. Also, we travelled by foot much of the historic center and felt quite oriented to our surroundings by the end. Zhara’s comprehensive knowledge of the history of Avignon and its role in the history of France were informative and well presented. The entire experience was incredible indeed, and a wonderful introduction to our days in Provence. Splendid!
Zahra is an excellent guide. She is very knowledgeable and made it fun and interesting to hear the history of the beautiful sights of Avignon. The food and wine we had on the tour was delicious. It was also interesting to see the different products made locally in Avignon. Zahra suggested best angles for taking photos of the beautiful sights. The tour was very well paced ending with a delicious lunch. I would definitely recommend any of Zahra's tours.
Zhara was amazing. She has boundless knowledge, common sense, compassion and joy for what she does. Our time flew by.
Cannot recommend this tour enough! Great fun, food and company. Zara is a joy who combined history with the art of living. And did I mention food? We chose the 3 hour tour which passed so quickly we were sorry we didn’t book the 5 hour tour. A brilliant introduction to Avignon. Don’t miss it!
We enjoyed this walking tour, which introduced us to typical local cuisine and several interesting food-related shops in old city. We felt that the commentary was not as detailed or relevant as we have experienced on other tours, and the visit to the soap store was an odd inclusion. The tour was good, but not outstanding.
We had a wonderful food tour with Zahra. Lovely experiencing tasting Provence specialities plus learning some historical information on Avignon. I would definitely recommend booking this tour as Zahra is a wonderful guide and loves to show Avignon to guests.
This was a wonderful tour and Zahra our expert guide was amazing!! I highly recommend this activity while in Avignon! She was a warm, accommodating hostess and we learned about the rich history of the city while enjoying wonderful foods and wine!
Zahra was absolutely amazing! The tour was so fun and we felt like we really got to see a bulk of the city, and have amazing bites of food and wine all in one! Zahra even added on some extra cool spots at the end which we never would have found on our own. She really made the tour and I highly recommend booking this!
This was by far one of the best food tours we have experienced -exceeded expectations Zara was a knowledge guide with a wonderful personality. We learned the history of Avignon while finding authentic local artisans -tasting cheeses, chocolate, wine and learning about soaps We concluded with a delicious lunch A fabulous tour that was over 2 hours
We had a great tour with Zahra. She is funny, friendly and very knowledgeable. We learned a lot about the history of the region and got to taste a wide variety of foods. She was also happy to give us recommendations for other day trips and places to visit in the area. Thanks for a great tour!
I’ve taken food tours in many countries but this one was special. Zahra was friendly, energetic, and knowledgeable. She exuded passion for her city and the work that she does. We tried many delicious regional specialties, visiting small, local shops and the towns food market. Mixed in with the superb tastings were stories of the city, steeped in a rich history. If you do not choose this tour, you’re simply missing out on an extraordinary experience.
Zahra was exceptional. She knows the city beautifully and shares her knowledge with great enthusiasm.
Our Guide Zahra was excellent when out of her way to make our lunch tour great. We loved the tour
A nice combination of history, food and wine. Zarah was a great tour guide! Avignon is a wonderful city to explore
We had a wonderful walking tour of Avignon. Zahra brought the city’s history to life while leading us thru the beautiful streets. She was knowledgeable, engaging and answered all our questions. It was a delightful way to discover Avignon and we highly recommend this tour.
Zara is an amazing guide! So knowledgeable and informative. She answered all of our questions and went above and beyond to make our trip. Thank you so much Zara!
Zarah was wonderful! So fun and educational! She was born to do this!
We had a wonderful walking tour of Avignon with Zahra. She brought the city’s history to life as we toured the streets. She was knowledgeable, engaging, and able to answer all our questions. It was a delightful way to discover Avignon, and we highly recommend her.
Zahra was delightful! She shared good historical information as well as terrific local artisanal food and products in her home city. Would highly recommend!
Very educational. Great food stops of local cuisine. Not too impressed with wine stop. That can be improved on. Soap store was delightful. Lunch was a miss. Three out of five of us did not enjoy the backed goat cheese souffle....
Zahra was lovely and took us to some lovely shops, the market, restaurants. The food and wine were very good.
This was perhaps the best tour we have ever taken. Zahra, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Honestly, it was as if we had known her for quite some time, rather than just having met her the morning of the tour. She communicated with us before hand to confirm our tour and answer any questions we had - her English is impeccable. The tour was laid back, conversational, and at a reasonable pace - which was greatly appreciated given the hotter than usual summer day; it was a leisurely three hours that was just perfect. I will say it ended up being only my wife and I so a tour group of two provided an extra intimate setting. The places she took us to and recommended were wonderful - and she advised us of the places to avoid or just be mindful of. She made sure to point out the historical aspects and little quirks that made Avignon unique and special. The food and wine she showed us (and we more than sampled) were exquisite - if you come hungry, you will not be disappointed. There was no pressure to patronize any of the businesses - we only bought two things while on the tour - but we came back later to some of the shops (especially for olives/olive oil and coffee) because we were so impressed. Finally, even after the tour ended, we could still reach out to Zahra with questions - she provided recommendations for dinner that met our preferences and that we happily chose. The price was more than reasonable for all we learned, ate, and enjoyed. Take this tour - you will not regret it.
Zarah did an outstanding job as our tour guide. We ended up the only couple on the tour which made it even more special. We stopped at great places, spaced out nicely. Highly recommend this tour. Be hungry, as food is amazing.
Zahra was phenomenal. We ended up with a private tour which was a nice surprise. The stops we made and the information she gave were outstanding. Although the weather was extremely hot, she did her best to provide us with comfort. I would highly recommend this tour. Just an fyi, the picture shown in the advertisement is not actually her photo. Super pleasant and highly knowledgeable. Thank you Xahar for a great experience.
Our tour with Zahra was full of fun surprises and deliciousness. We had an opportunity to visit hidden gems in Avignon and to sample local dishes and wine we would not have discovered on our own. Zahra welcomed us warmly and by the end of our tour, we were great friends. I would definitely recommend this Food and Wine experience in Avignon.
We loved our time with Zarha! She did a great job engaging our teenagers and making sure everyone had a great time! We High Recommend spend the day with her!
We booked Zahra for a food, wine and local vibes tour of Avignon. It could not have been better. It was immediately obvious that Zahra loves what she does. She has a warm, friendly personality and a wide range of knowledge concerning food, wine and the history and culture of Avignon. She is a great teacher and a great companion.. We thoroughly enjoyed her company.
Zahra is a top notch host! She has great energy, lots of area insight, and historical knowledge. Zahra is highly recommended during your next visit to Avignon! Book early, she’s in high demand!
Outstanding. Zahra was fantastic! Professional, knowledgeable, and fun
Zahra did an amazing job. We admired the time she put into reserving spots for us at each business in Avignon so that we could taste test each delicious food and wine. I also enjoyed discussing the history of the town along with this.
Zhara gave us what felt like a cultivated and extremely thoughtful food tour of Avignon. She was charming, polite and so knowledgeable about this town she loves so much- by the end we really loved it too. The tour had everything we could want- TONS of local food (cheese, chocolates, pastries, tapenades and a delightful authentic local lunch) as well as some hidden gems of the city, a wonderful history lesson and a few shopping stops. We would recommend this tour to anyone visiting and hope to come again and see Zhara for another tour with some new stops.
We had an absolutely unforgettable wine tasting tour in Avignon with Zahra. From the moment we met her, she made my wife and me feel completely welcome and taken care of. Her knowledge of the local wines, vineyards, and the history of the region was incredible, but what really made the experience special was her warmth, enthusiasm, and attention to detail. Every stop felt thoughtfully chosen, and Zahra created the perfect balance of education, relaxation, and fun. She introduced us to amazing wines we never would have discovered on our own and shared fascinating stories about the Provence region along the way. If you’re considering a wine tour in Avignon, do yourself a favor and book with Zahra. She turned a great day into one of the highlights of our trip to France. We can’t recommend her highly enough!
Sahra was a really super guide. She briefed us on the history that made Avignon from the earliest times through the Roman and Papal to the Renaissance period. She led us through the historical district discussing highlights of culture and architecture. The historical context made our visit to Avignon so much more enjoyable. She gave us a sampling of delicious foods and wines from across the city. She even harmonized the food with the part of the city. Next to the Papal Palace, we had special fortified wine, wafers and pastries related to the Catholic Church. Stops in the market district included artisans skilled in specialties of Provence like soap makers working with the herbs of Provence and wine merchants specializing in local wines. In a classic cafe, lunch featured fresh local food that showcased the seasonings that make Provencial foods distinctive. Each place we went, you could see the passion Sahra shared with the artisans and merchants. They had so much to share with us about the pride they took in their skill, city and region. I whole heartedly recommend Sarah’s tour.
Outstanding tour!! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a local guide that is passionate about her city and region. Zahra’s tour is a beautifully curated mix of history, food, artistry, and authenticity - it was the highlight of my stay in Avignon!! Don’t miss this tour.
We had an amazing tour with Zahra. It was like being with a group of friends. We had so much fun. The food was delicious. The wines too. I highly recommend this tour totally worth it. Thank you Zahra this tour was really the highlight of our honeymoon
We had an excellent informative 1/2 day with Zahra as our guide. Zahra shared her enthusiasm and knowledge of food, wine and history. We would highly recommend.
Zahra was such a knowledgeable and joyful guide! She started our experience by sharing the history of Avignon, before immersing us in the culture and food. Her appreciation for her city and the local products it produces is at the heart of this experience. We only had one day in Avignon, and it was well spent! This is the first thing everyone should do when they arrive to really get to know the city. Thank you Zahra!
We shared a wonderful moment of discovery and tasted some very good local products. Zahra is a wonderful guide who knows her city well and has incredible energy. Thank you for this superb discovery, I highly recommend it +++
Zahra is an extraordinary guide; we had a magnificent and enriching time. Her knowledge is impressive. The tastings are indulgent and delicious. I highly recommend it. With eyes closed.
Absolutely brilliant. We loved it. Zahra is an exceptional guide. Her historical knowledge is incredible; she knows the history of France, the history of Avignon, etc., perfectly. She delighted us with wonderful tastings. And we loved the stop at the soap artisan's. Everything handmade. Incredible. Even the packaging is done on-site. She shared her passion for craftsmanship with us. Work well done. Art in general but also for French gastronomy. And especially Provençal cuisine. She gave us plenty of recipes that we can remake at home. And especially. She tells us where we can buy because it is reasonable and showed us all the tourist trap shops to avoid in Avignon that charge ridiculous prices. We walked through charming narrow streets. And learned so much about the food. The history and about the wines too. Magnificent tour. Comprehensive. Entire. I recommend it 10000 percent.
Zahra does it so lovingly. I gave the tour to my husband for his birthday and we had our four children and our small dog with us. There were great offers for us and also for the children everywhere. It was very delicious and imaginative. The walk through the city was also not that long, because it was also very hot, but very nice. Thanks for the lovely morning!!
Thank you for this culinary discovery and the region, which is just magnificent. Zahra is a knowledgeable guide, with a lot of humor, capable of showing you her region while explaining its history. Thank you for this transmission.
We had a wonderful time with Zahra! Her visit was fascinating, friendly, and perfectly paced. Thanks to her, we discovered Avignon in a different way, through its history, its charming little streets, and its captivating anecdotes. The tasting of local products and Provençal specialties was a true delight: authentic flavors, carefully selected, that allowed us to discover the richness of Provence. Zahra is a warm, passionate, and attentive guide who knows how to convey her love for the region with enthusiasm. If you want to experience an authentic, gourmet adventure full of wonderful discoveries, we wholeheartedly recommend this tour!
