Great! Adam was amazing- very knowledgeable about the area, the wine making process, the history, and the wine.

Tour was wonderful! Emilie was enthusiastic and delightful! Lovely drive through the countryside. Highly recommend!
Interesting tour around a couple of wineries. The tastings mostly focused on reds as that is what the area is best known for and we had a really thorough workshop on how to taste/smell them!
We booked this tour at the last minute. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Remi, our guide, was wonderful and his knowledge about the wineries we visited was exceptional. He took us on an extra little excursion to the top of the hill to see the remains of the castle where the Popes would go in the summer. If you are going to be in the Avignon area, make sure you visit Chateauneuf de Pape.
Great thing to o do on a rainy day. Guide was knowledgeable and fun. Loved the trip. Good value for money.
Lovely afternoon with opportunities for photos. Guide went out to purchase cookies and chocolate to have between our tastingd
Our guide was born and raised in Avignon and we certainly appreciated all his local knowledge.
Nicely paced tour with time to enjoy 5 wine varieties at 2 vineyards. More vineyards would have been too much. The stops were informative and the wines delicious. Joe was a tremendous guide. Fun, full of energy and enthusiasm and very well informed guide. We also visited the ruins of the Pope’s summer house with spectacular vistas. It was an experience you don’t want to miss when visiting this world class wine country.
Length was good. The experience was interesting. The guide was great and the wine tasting very satisfying.
We missed our pick up location and were kindly advised to meet up with our group… very accommodating… Emily was wonderful.
A wonderful afternoon in Châteauneuf-de-pape with Mathilde.
We had a wonderful tour with Joanna! She was very fluent in English and had great info to share and wonderful perspective. While it was a hot day, she made the trip fun and enjoyable. We went to two very lovely wineries which just served to reinforce my love of CdP wines. Highly recommend!!
We had a wonderful wine tour in Châteauneuf-du-Pape with Jis as our guide. He was an excellent guide—very friendly, engaging and extremely knowledgeable about the region and its wines. His English was very good, and he explained the history of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the vineyards, appellations and winemaking traditions in a clear and interesting way. He also shared plenty of relevant facts and insights that really helped us understand what makes the wines of this region so special. The winery visits and tastings were very enjoyable, and Jis made the whole experience both informative and relaxed. Highly recommended. If you are visiting Châteauneuf-du-Pape and enjoy wine, this is a tour well worth doing.
The guide (Remi) (sp)? was very good & we really enjoyed the wineries we stopped at. Highly recommend!
This was a fantastic way to get to visit a couple of Chateauneuf de Pape wineries with a very informative and entertaining host in a small group. I highly recommend it!
Had a lovely time on this tour learning about wines from chateau neuf du pape. Would highly recommend.
Very fun and informative, the guide was very knowledgeable and the wines were excellent. A great way to spend the afternoon.
4 hour southern Rhône CDP wine tasting. Comfortable van with good sound system so could hear our guide Sylvia. She was great. Two wineries, both pretty good. Recommend it for a good learning experience and a good time.
This was a great half day tour to see two different wineries and learn about the region. Our guide (Joseph) was informative, funny, and made the experience personal to our interests. It was also nice to meet the other guests on the tour. Would highly recommend this for other travelers.
Our guide was terrific - very knowledgeable, passionate, helpful and fully bilingual such that he was able to translate for those at the vineyards we attended. The tour was just the right length of time.
We had a great experience visiting two of the vineyards from the Chateneuf du Pape. Mathilde was our lovely guide. She provided us with interesting stories during the drives in the cooled minivan. We tested nice sorts of wines and learned about the wine making processes. I enjoyed exploring my "nose" when testing the wines' aromas. ...And the lively provencal atmosphere brought a unique vibrance to our experience.
This is the most conflicted review I’ve written on viator. The tour guide was great. If you are a novice wine drinker there is fun stuff here. That said the wine was good and the sommeliers knew their stuff. However the price of this tour was outrageous at over 100 and for its value it get a 2. This brings down the overall score. There have to be better values in CDP. If money is not a concern the wines themselves were good but not outstanding. The prices for the bottles vs in the IS were not great deals.
My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Adam. He was extremely knowledgeable, witty and really made it a wonderful afternoon for us. It was a perfect introduction to the Châteauneuf du Pape region. Highly recommend!
Lovely tour with great guide. Visited two domaines/chateaus with high qualities wines. Also some background info on regions and the wines
Ask for Joe! His energy and humor made the day entertaining and fun. While the wineries were different, The first half of the tour and the second half were repetitive. It would've have been nice to have seen something uniquely different. I would recommend this tour to everyone.
Adam was very knowledgeable and had good communication.. He was willing to answer all our questions as well as recommendation for all things Avignon
Our tour guide Adam had an excellent knowledge of the CHateau Neuf Du Pape region and it's wines as well as those of the Rhone valley as well. The two tastings we did were extremely good especially at Chateau Fortia. Adam was also very knowledge about the history of the area and gave us a very good narrative explaining it and it's relationship to the wines of the region. Excellent trip.
All the tour was great. Our guide yesterday a beautiful girl, very kind and professional and she did the whole tour a very nice experience.
Knowledgeable guides. Great spots to stop.
Last week while visiting our daughter we went on this tour, and were very impressed. Our guide; Mathilde, was knowledgeable and easily approachable. Her enthusiasm for the wines of Chateauneuf du Pape was infectious, and we would strongly recommend her to anyone who wants to learn more about the delicious wines of the region.
Great tour, could have been improved if the driver acted as interpreter for the winery staff.
We joined this wine tour and were so glad we did. Travel was in a comfortable 8 seater minibus, so eight people max plus our guide. After meeting at the tourist office pickup point our excellent guide Florian drove us to the first stop an old established vineyard with Chateau, using mostly old methods with underground maturing areas and storage spaces. Awesome seeing the storage of the tens of thousands of bottles. Pauline the vineyard guide was excellent and very patient! So glad she had time to show us around and entertain us in a lovely little tasting room. Plenty of samples and a white Chateauneuf du Pape, certainly the first the four of us had tried. We then had a pleasant walk down a road between fields of vines as it was a bonny day and venue were quite close and probably quicker than by road. The second visit was a quite different experience after the more traditional visit. It was a larger visitor centre and a more modern appearance, still using the old vats but there was large rooms for tour groups and it was clearly aimed at that market. The tour here was shorter but equally well delivered, then we retired to a smart sampling stall just for us out in the retail area. Here we received several tastings from the vineyard with a totally immersive sampling then drinking lesson on three wines. It was really enjoyable to learn from someone who loved her job and was so good at it. Just sorry i can't remember her name as she deserved a mention as well. There was a more gift oriented shop here as well. Last stop was a quick visit to the original Chateauneuf du Pape, sadly partially blown up by the retreating Germans in WWII. It is still an impressive frontage with great views over the Rhone and surrounding area to Avignon. On this clear day we could clearly see the Palace of the Popes standing proudly about Avignon. Then its return time to Avignon to complete our approx 4.5 hour tour, well worth the fee we paid for this tour. Thanks again to Florian, Pauline and unfortunately nameless for the friendly, professional and very patient care we were shown that day. Thanks from the Orkney 4. How you guys put up with the other two on the tour, we don't know, you must be saints.
We visited 2 wineries and had tastings at both. Phyllis was a fabulous guide, with so much knowledge. I hope a can remember all she shared!
Learned about the AOC chateauneuf du pape. Sylvia was friendly and very informative. We saw a vineyard with the stones that are used to retain the heat for the soil. Visited a family owned cellar, as well as a more commercial type enterprise. Both are in the Chateauneuf du Pape village. I highly recommend this tour for wine lovers and for wine newbies. The tastings were excellent and I didn’t even end up with a headache, the wines were that good. Bathrooms available at both sites.
Our guide, Josh was funny and informative. The winery tour was very interesting and we loved both the wine tasting. Really appreciated to stop at the remains of the Pope's summer palace to take pictures of the scenery.
Our guide, Sylvia, was super knowledgeable about not only wines and wine production, but also tons of cultural information about Provence and Chateauneuf-du-Pape. We had a fantastic autumn day - the weather certainly plays a big role in your experience.
Just the right amount of time at each winery and safe driver. Enjoyed chatting with others along the way. Beautiful countryside!
The wineries were lovely, the driver was very pleasant and the van was nice and roomy. However, for a small tour we had to wait half an hour for an other tour van to arrive at the second winery before they would start the tour. We were left milling around in their shop with no real interaction with staff or guide.
Fantastic wines and beautiful scenery. Our driver Sam was very informative. It was a totally fun afternoon.
The trip was was very informative and Flo our tour guide was excellent and so knowledgeable about the area and Chateau Neuf du Pape wine and region. We visited two vineyards and also Popes summer palace. Brilliant afternoon. Loved all the varieties of wine we tasted.
Our guide was very knowledgeable about wine making and the history of wines in the area. Would recommend!
This was a wonderful tour. Our guide was well-informed, charming, and funny. The tour was informative with great tastings, but not overwhelming or exhausting. Bring snacks (crackers or something) because there are none on the tour.
We visited Avignon before the tour started (after finding a street parking spot inside the wall). Met up at the tourism office and had an energetic and positive guide who freely shared all her knowledge! We drive to 2 estates in CDP and finished with a visit to the castle. Each estate was different in terms of size and production so it was nice to compare. We liked the 1/2 day tour as it was just enough for us to sleep in and still see the area before dinner. Would definitely take this tour again!
Absolutely an amazing wine tour in Chateaunuef de pape. We had Nicholas as our tour guide and he was full of knowledge and made the wine tour experience more enjoyable. Him and the other guides were also very efficient too, which we can really appreciate. Would highly recommend!
We had a lovely wine tour with Emile. Emile was very knowledgeable with regards to wines of Chateauneuf-du-Pape and the region as a whole. He was a joy to talk to about other topics. I appreciate the easy pick up and drop off in Avignon. I would love to do this tour again.
The tour was awesome, our guide was great, really good value and the right amount of time. The countryside and vineyards are beautiful.
Absolutely the best way to learn about the Rhône Valley wine industry especially Chateaudeneuf de Pape. Very knowledgeable local guide answered all questions, timed activities well & chose excellent sites for our itinerary. At end of tour even helped us with restaurants nearby for dinner. Her guide services went above & beyond. Highly recommend this wine tour.
François, our guide was great. And fantastic wine tasting at the two vineyards. Chateauneuf du Pape is great and beautiful!
We stopped at two wineries and sampled 7 wines. Bought a case to send home. Sylvia was full of information about the region and the wine. She made the experience very pleasurable. Highly recommend d this half day wine tour.
The wine tour was excellent. Great guide (Florian) generous wine serves, 2 wineries including a tour if the cellar of one which was really interesting. We had a great afternoon
