Lovely, not sure why the bad reviews to be honest. Usually stay in the cheapest hotel in town. The bathroom was almost as big as my whole apartment lol the staff are kind, my girlfriend speaks french and me English, he asked what language to explain which I appreciate instead of just automatically switching to English. The AC was amazing, might book again sometime just to sleep in this horrible heatwave. It was a really comfortable bed. I think the bed was just slightly smaller than my apartment also. The linens were super cozy. The location was excellent for the festival. Thank you so much for a lovely stay. I will hopefully be back

Great location & easy access to everything. Our room was spacious, clean, no carpets- which is a plus for us. The bathroom was large and had a tub and separate shower. Staff were very friendly. Perhaps my 1 comment- please upgrade your bath towels
The hotel is in a very central location, with the main sights of Avignon all within walking distance. The staff is friendly and helpful, including helping carry and store luggage, providing extra water free of charge, etc. The room was clean and comfortable, with air conditioning (much needed during the recent heatwave). We were given a wheelchair accessible room on the ground floor, with a shower where water leaked out across the bathroom making it rather impractical to use the wet bathroom after showering. We also only received one set of towels (for one person) on arrival, although the hotel staff quickly provided us with a second set. The breakfast is good overall, but the hotel could make sure there is enough crockery/ cutlery available, and there were very few lactose-free options.
We stayed 3 nights at Hôtel Le Bristol Avignon and had a very positive experience, especially thanks to the outstanding front desk team. After a major train delay, we arrived around 1:00 AM exhausted from a very long journey. Alaa, who was working the evening-to-morning shift, welcomed us with professionalism, kindness, and genuine care. He made our late-night check-in smooth, easy, and stress-free. From the very first moment, he treated us with warmth and respect that truly stood out. The next day, Jeremy from the day shift was also extremely professional, friendly, and helpful. He assisted us with storing our luggage on the last day, provided water, and helped arrange breakfast. The reception team overall created a welcoming atmosphere throughout our stay. But Alaa deserves special recognition. What impressed us most was not only his customer service, but also his personal story and dedication to his work. During our stay, it was Eid — one of the most important Muslim holidays, similar in importance to Christmas for many families. Despite this special occasion, Alaa chose to continue working through the entire night shift with positivity and energy. He explained that he would only sleep a couple of hours before celebrating Eid with his wife and children. His attitude toward life was truly inspiring. Alaa spoke with pride about both his Yemeni roots and his new life in France. Due to the ongoing war in Yemen, France became his new home, and he repeatedly expressed how grateful he is for this country, its history, culture, and people. He spoke passionately about wanting to contribute positively to France, continue improving himself, learn more French, grow professionally, and raise his children with values of respect, integration, hard work, and appreciation for both their original identity and their new country. Meeting someone with this level of motivation, gratitude, professionalism, and love for his work was genuinely inspiring. Stories like his go far beyond a simple hotel review. Employees like Alaa represent the very best of hospitality and leave a lasting positive impression not only of the hotel, but also of the city and country itself. Because of this experience, we intend to share our positive impressions not only through this review, but also with tourism representatives connected to Avignon, Provence, and French tourism institutions. People like Alaa are an example of the welcoming spirit visitors hope to find when traveling. The hotel itself has an excellent location close to the train station and city center, making Avignon very convenient to explore. While there are some maintenance and improvement areas the hotel could continue working on, the exceptional service from staff members like Alaa and Jeremy made our stay memorable. Thank you again to Alaa and the reception team for such a meaningful experience.
