We had a wonderful tour on the Mini Cabot Explorer with our guide Ansh. He filled us in on all the history, natural resources, industry, artisans, immersing us in the Acadian & Celtic cultures in this beautiful area of Sydney Nova Scotia. He stopped & showed us around so many wonderful spots along the Cabot Trail. I especially liked the Artisans Trail, bring artists ourselves. The coastal views along the Cabot Trail are beautiful. And of course we wanted to have some fresh local lobster while here in Nova Scotia since lobster fishing is one of their main industries. Ansh made our tour very interesting & leisurely while still getting us back to our cruise ship in time. We never felt rushed, very relaxing. We always like to learn about any area we are visiting & Ansh was so informative which we enjoyed. I would highly recommend asking for Ansh as your guide if you book this Mini Cabot Explorer tour with Sydcoast Cruize Tours in Sydney Nova Scotia

The tour happens in a minivan. You need to be comfy hopping in and out of a 2nd or 3rd row. Otherwise it is a sample of the full Cabot Trail. You can only get to so much in 4 ish hours.
I was notified that pick up from hotel will be between 1245 and 1300 . Actual pick up was at 1330 . The other passengers were from a cruise and had to be back at certain time . i was under impression tour guide had to rush to visit places . there was not much time to enjoy views and places. Tour guide tried his best but ,I wish we had more time to enjoy the trip. if I knew the tour will be shorter ,I would book full Cabot Trail tour.
It was hard to choose among the many options for the Cabot Trail- I can highly recommend this tour. Our guide, “GP” was great!
Amon was a great tour guide. Very informative and took us to several beautiful stops along a half days trip to and from the beginning of the Cabot trail. The bakery was also a nice stop with delicious pastries!
Our guide was very knowledgeable and kind. We enjoyed the excursion very much. The Graham Bell museum was so interesting.
Amal was our driver and it was a terrific experience! We went with fall color showing all its splendor! i would definitely do this excursion again if ever presented with an opportunity again!
5 stops along Cabot Trail. Only 4 of us in a mini van. Several restroom stops, sandwich shop and pullovers to take pictures
Great tour, tour guide very informative, beautiful fall colors. But, we thought we signed up for 4 hour tour, found out from tour guide it was a 6 hour tour. Made us a little nervous since traveling by cruise ship. Was back in plenty of time.
Listing: The listing is not accurate. We did not stop at some of the locations. They did not provide water as indicated. There was not clear communication about what time to meet. Tour company: If you can call it a tour company. They are a taxi service that also uses their vehicles for tours. We discovered as leaving the port that they are not licensed to drive the Cabot Trail. The vehicles are very cramped for three people sitting in the bench seats. Tour: The driver/tour guide provided little information along the way. While pleasant, he recently moved to the area and did not have the knowledge I expected on a tour. We almost got into two accidents. The itinerary was not well defined as to how long we would have at each stop although the driver was flexible.
From our experience, I would say it was not worth it. Driver did not adhere to the itinerary, we sat in the back of the minivan and between the road noise and the drivers accent we couldn’t hear anything. On a positive note, the fall colors were beautiful.
Driver was there when we got off the ship. We picked up one other couple at a hotel. We had a nice drive on the Cabot trail. Driver was very friendly and drove safe, however if you were in the back it was hard to hear him with the highway noise and accent. We took the ferry and stopped at several lookouts and a few other stops like a chocolate shop and local restaurant. So glad we decided to take this excursion! Definitely just the right amount of time to experience the Cabot trail with time after to see the city, shop and and taste the lobster. I would definitely do it again! Don't hesitate! Worth the money and time! Nice to be more one on one and not a huge tour bus!
This tour covered a lot of ground with picturesque stops which gave us a true appreciation for the countryside. Our guide, Frank, was a wealth of information…there wasn’t a question he couldn’t answer!
We had stopped in Sydney as part of a cruise, and had arranged this "mini-Cabot" excursion independently because it seemed like a good idea for our group of extended family. First of all, the staff and service were fine... no real complaints. They were responsive and prompt. The problem is that this is really just a long taxi ride. Our main stops were a few roadside viewpoints, a bathroom at the local cultural college (which was mildly interesting, tbh), a chocolate shop, and a bakery. We had hoped to see more of the Cabot Trail, but there's really no way to appreciate the Cabot Trail in such a short time frame. It did pique my interest into maybe coming back and exploring this region and the full Cabot Trail on my own. But just don't be duped into thinking that you'll see much on a 4-hr out-and-back drive.
Our guide had very little information and we could not hear anything he said. We learned nothing about the area. Worst private tour we’ve ever taken.
Hello Sydcoast cruize tour team. It was a very nice, relaxed and individual tour with TJ as a very friendly and polite guide and 4 visitors. We see a lot and we enjoy. Friendly locas, beginning indian summer, sunshine, water, big canadian nature, slow down and recognize, that nature do not need us 😁. Thank's for all, take care of yourself, maybe till next visit in Sydney N.S. Thomas & Katja from Hamburg, Germany

Excellent trip! Newer company, nice van with an excellent guide. Good value, highly recommend!! Picked us up at the port.
We booked the Mini Cabot Trail Tour and it was an absolutely amazing experience! The scenery along the trail was breathtaking, with coastal cliffs, forested highlands, and plenty of perfect photo stops such as st Ann’s look off and Brasdor’s look off. The tour was well-paced—we had time to explore, take pictures, and enjoy the views without feeling rushed. The vehicle was comfortable, and everything was well-organized from start to finish. We highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to experience the beauty of the Cabot Trail in a shorter time.
