The Great George

A group of six of us shared the Harris House which is one of the several houses of the Great George. We were totally pleased with the accommodation. Lots of room with enough bedrooms for all. Th house is old of course but that is/was one of the attractions. The accommodation came with plenty of parking, a complimentary beverage between 5 and 6pm and an outstanding included breakfast. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The location is perfect for exploring the old downtown. I/we highly recommend this place.

Good hotel with an excellent location, but some room for improvement The Great George is a good hotel with a fantastic location right in the heart of downtown Charlottetown. The historic character of the property is charming, and it is very convenient for exploring the city on foot. Unfortunately, our arrival experience was disappointing. We arrived before the official check-in time and asked if anything could be done, but the gentleman at the front desk did not seem interested in helping us or even checking our reservation. We were simply told to come back at 4:00 PM. We would have appreciated at least a quick check to see whether our room might be available or whether there were any options. The breakfast was also rather average and did not stand out. Overall, the hotel has a lot going for it, especially its excellent location and historic atmosphere, but we felt that the level of service and the breakfast could be improved.

We had a one night stay at The Great George Hotel and the main reason we booked this hotel was because of its proximity to everything we wanted to see in Charlottetown. The check-in was very smooth and easy. The staff are very friendly and happy to help. Rooms where larger than we expected and the kids loved the fresh baked cookies they kept in the lobby. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone that is looking for a great place to stay and prefers to walk around town to see all the sites.

Very impressed. This hotel was a recommendation of a family member and I’m blown away. The history, the staff, location, cleanliness - it was all incredible. We stayed in the Wellington building. One thing I will say, parking can be tricky but we made out just fine during our 4 day stay. They offer fresh cookies daily, happy hour AND if you decline housekeeping, you can redeem each unused day for a $10 gift card at the front desk which is usable at any of their affiliated restaurants/locations - and there are many! I loved the view of the church from our hotel room window. Highly recommend!
