Excellent and informative, guide very engaging and full of associated information
This was a fantastic walking tour around Prague taking in plenty of sights and lots of places of historic interest that wouldn't be spotted by the casual passer by. Pavel was a great guide with lots of knowledge who happily answered everyone's questions and passed on his extensive knowledge of local history. Overall this was an excellent, and very moving, tour learning about this dark period in Czech history.
Excellent guide full of detailed stories about the Czech resistance and uprising in WWII. Fast paced. Time to sit and explore artifacts and photos that embellished the stories.
Anthropoid is little known in the US and this tour helped us learn about the bravery of these young men
Hana, the guide, was part of the entertainment. Never short of an opinion she was informative and helpful throughout
The history is really interesting and puts things in perspective. I went with family but i do think the younger ones will be bored if they are not history buffs. I enjoyed the stories
Very worthwhile- our tour guide Hannah was exceptional. Very informative and knowledgeable, moreover very passionate.
Our guide, Hannah, was extremely passionate and knowledgeable. The tour flows fluidly with various stops and a quick tram ride to the crypt where Operation Anthropoid concludes.
Excellent tour guide did a great job of bringing history to life. I would highly recommend this tour.
Our guide was fantastic. Extremely knowledgeable and passionate about WWII and Prague. We learned a lot and enjoyed seeing Prague through this most interesting tour. Highly recommend!!
This trip was very well done. Historical, but told in such a way that it captured your attention for the all three hours.. highly recommend. We ended up going to some places, but I don't think we would've ever uncovered on our own.
Excellent guide. Interesting and informative tour. Learnt about Anthropoid operation and Prague uprising in 1945 which I personally didn’t know much about. Interesting seeing memorabilia from the time too.
This was an absolutely fantastic tour, delivered in really excellent English by our extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide Otakar. The tour encompassed the history of Czechslovakia (as it was constituted in the 1930's) leading up to the breakout of WW2 and subsequent events and culminating in the heroic efforts of the Czech resistance fighters. At 3.5 hours, it was a long session but at no point did the interest wane; indeed the last stop-off was the most interesting and deeply moving. Being so long, there was a break at about 2 hours for a WC visit and water refreshments. This stop also allowed Otakar to show us many original contemporary objects, which was also fascinating. Highly recommended for anyone with an interest in WW2 history, and also anyone who cares about the sacrifices made for us by previous generations.
Ottokar is an amazing guide, hen made history come alive and we were hanging on to his every word. Highly recommend this tour!
The tour guide was very knowledgeable. He did an outstanding job of bringing history to life. Would do the tour again To
Really great tour. Hannah did a fab job. Loads of insight and personal perspective I found interesting.
Hannah was a brilliant guide. Sharing plenty of information on the travel, while also keeping everyone safe.
George was our guide and he certainly helped bring to life the war experienced by the Check people in the city. His knowledge and passion really gave us, not just a history lesson, but a really enjoyable tour. We definitely got the most out of the 2.5 hours and to get to see the church where the seven men involved in operation Anthropoid held out against the nazis, was very special. We were even blessed with his charming company a little longer for some food and drink afterwards. A splendid tour and excellent company!
After spending a few days in Prague touring the magnificent buildings, parks, bridges and listening to ancient histoey, this tour made us travel to time to a more recent story that greatly definesnthe Checz nowadays. George was an amazing storyteller that moved every fiber of emotions inside of us. Thanks for such a personalozed tour an experience. We learned and touched many details that were key to this Prague experience.
Our guide George was excellent. Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He took us to all the listed sites and described the events that occurred.
Wow!!!!!! This tour is one of the best I have ever done. Our tour guide Otakar, was absolutely amazing. Our guide was so passionate, knowledgeable, engaging, he was amazing. What I learned about the war, and about the courageous Czech's, will live with me for ever. If you are a history buff, and trust me, I was not. You will learn so much, and appreciate this beautiful country and what they had to sacrifice to survive.
The tour is essentially not so much a tour, but a long historical lecture: half of it takes place at a couple of locations around the Prague city center that have marginal relevance to the topic of WWII in the Czech Republic, but are incredibly noisy and it's hard to hear your guide; and the other half takes place in a restaurant before it opens where you look through a box of interesting memorabilia from the time period while the guide continues his dissertation. The topic is undoubtedly interesting, the guide does what he can, but I don't think I'd recommend this tour to anyone but the most ardent WWII researchers.
Fantastic Guide. Could not have been more impressed or pleased with the tour
I really enjoyed this, and thought the guide was excellent. The tour was really in depth and well narrated. About 1/2 way into the tour we got to sat down and look at various items involved in the event such as important documents, a gun, insignias. I felt I learnt so much more than any film or history lesson. Unfortunately I had to cut the tour short as I had to dash to the airport. Would definitely recommend. Hopefully when I back in Prague will get a chance to conclude the tour :)
Very enjoyable tour with a guide that was both knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. He also had access to artefacts relating to the subject that added another level to the experience.
A very good and informative tour. The guide was very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly.
It was a wonderful tour! The guide was so knowledgeable and she provided such insight to the history both from a political and military standpoint. We saw some amazing things and learned a ton about Prague and its vast history. The World War II impacts on the city and its area and the takedown of the only high ranking Nazi by assassination were intriguing seeing the church and the crept where the battle raged was so unreal.
Our guide was great. Funny, informative and genuinely nice guy to hang out with for a few hours
Very informative. Would definitely recommend especially if you want to take a deep dive into history, something that gives context to current day Prague and a deeper appreciation for this proud country.
it was easy to book and pay for this trip. The guide met us at the meeting point as agreed. Hanna was an excellent guide, she was very factual and funny. We really enjoyed it - she was easy to understand and encouraged questions at each stopping point - she showed us plaques on the walls and pavements that we would never have spotted!
Informative of operation anthropoid Brilliant history of Prague and its time under communism and ww11
Very good tour, you see a lot of the Old City as well. The guide was great, very knowledgeable. You do a lot of walking.
This is an amazing, interesting and profound tour of the history of Operation Anthropoid and includes much Czech history of World War II and the communist error. Hanna brought these important stories to life. It culminates with a visit to the church where these brave men hid out and fought against the Nazis. Inspirational and tragic. A must do!
The tour took longer than expected but was well worth it. It also included a subway and tram ride to others areas of importance as well as a pleasant surprise at the end of the tour. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable wrt to historical information and the sites we visited.
Very knowledgeable with WWII history in terms of Prague. Had two couples leave during the tour as they thought they would be seeing more. The tour is about history therefore the guide talks lots! He did a great job.
Great walking tour with a great guide - even took us on a tram. If you are interested in all things Operation Anthropoid then this is the one. We'd actually gone past a few of the places on a previous day's walking tour without that guide mentioning anything covered by this tour. Need a good set of legs; in fact the whole of Prague is pretty unfavourable to the lame and wheelchair bound due to the excessive amount of cobbles on road and paths. Our guide had a limp but set a pretty blistering pace or he was part mountain goat deftly navigating the different levels and sizes of cobbles.
Jirka was outstanding. Very engaging and very knowledgeable. We learned so much. He brought history to life.
The tour was given by Paul who guided us through the history of our country. They way of telling made history came to live and especially my two teenage children 16/14 were impressed as they are fans of WOII history. We travelled by public transport and sat down in the cave of a cafe were memorables were presented and walked through Prague. This history tour made us more aware of events happening know, how events can escalate and it made clear we can learn from the past
Our guide Hannah was excellent - passionate and spoke from personal experience. Very interesting 😀
The tour was really interesting and enjoyable lead by the passionate and informative Anna, who was a very good guide and host
Really informative would recommend it!
Guide was very knowledgeable and had a good selection of photos and artifacts. If I had any suggestion, it would be that he should walk slower and turn around once in a while and make sure he’s not lost some of the slow walker people. He also took off from the church before we had a chance to give him a tip. Otherwise, it was a good experience.
Very interesting tour with knowledgeable guide. They share things you would not have access to on your own.
Guide was excellent. Incredible knowledge about everything. Pictures shown where things happened compared to current buildings was interesting
The tour brought to light the valient effort of the Czech resistance during WWII that is likely overlooked by broader, more well known moments in history. The sense of national pride in our guide's delivery brought to life the humanity involved in the tragedy of war that you sumply can't glean from a book alone. She was knowledgable and dynamic. I will forever be impressed with Europeans who've mastered multiple languages with ease. What a phenomenal and powerful experience. Strongly recommend!
Paul was a fantastic guide full of passion and respect
Hanna our guide to the group was super. Personable, knowledgeable and a very pleasant person. I would 100% recommend this experience to others. The smallish group works very well. One does not feel they are part of a “tour” group following a flag and listening to a monologue. Quite the opposite with Hanna!
An excellent tour explaining the impact of the Second World War and details of Operation Anthropoid. Super knowledgeable guide who when we stopped for a quick drink of water produced a small suitcase full of interesting artefacts- photos, German documents etc. Only suitable for people interested in the Second World War. Be prepared for some sad/ distressing stories.
Excellent guide and itinerary, the best to understand the decisions and choices made at the time that affected the Czech population and their time under the Nazi regime.
