Martina, our tour guide was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable about this period of history. We learned a lot and also had great fun driving around Prague in the Trabant. Would thoroughly recommend this trip and we hope to return to the city again. Best wishes Patricia and Michael

Itinerary
At Strahov Stadium, travelers will stop at one of the most extraordinary and historically layered sites in Prague. This vast complex, once the largest stadium in the world, reflects the dramatic changes the city has undergone throughout the 20th century. During this stop, the licensed English-speaking guide explains the stadium’s origins in the First Czechoslovak Republic, its transformation during the communist era, and its role around the time of the Velvet Revolution. The commentary provides insight into how mass events, ideology, and everyday life were shaped during these periods. Travelers will also have time to view the vintage Trabant 601 up close while hearing stories about the car’s place in Eastern European history and daily life behind the Iron Curtain. This stop offers a deeper understanding of Prague’s political past and cultural identity, with time for photos and questions before continuing the tour.
At the Strahov Monastery Complex, travelers will enjoy a short walking stop in one of Prague’s most atmospheric historic areas. From outside the monastery buildings, the licensed English-speaking guide explains the long history of the Strahov Monastery, its importance to Czech cultural life, and the world-famous libraries housed within, without entering the interiors. During the walk, travelers will also hear about the traditional Strahov Monastery Brewery and its role in local history. The route continues through the monastery grounds toward a scenic viewpoint overlooking Prague’s historic city center. From this elevated vantage point, the guide provides orientation and commentary on the city’s most important landmarks, including the historic quarters, bridges, and skyline. This stop offers excellent photo opportunities and a clear overview of Prague’s layout before continuing the tour.
In Prague’s picturesque Lesser Town, travelers will explore one of the city’s most historic and atmospheric districts. After arriving in the Kampa area, the licensed English-speaking guide introduces the surroundings, including the Kafka Museum and David Černý’s famous Pissing Fountain, explaining their cultural background, symbolism, and place in modern Czech art and history. The walk then continues along the river toward Hergetova Cihelna, passing through quiet streets and scenic riverbank paths. Along the way, the guide shares stories, legends, and historical context connected to the Lesser Town and its role in Prague’s development. From a panoramic viewpoint near Hergetova Cihelna, travelers will enjoy an iconic view of Charles Bridge and the Old Town skyline. The guide provides commentary on the history, construction, and legends of Charles Bridge, offering a memorable perspective and excellent photo opportunities before the tour concludes.

This is a brilliant tour if you like old cars. The Trabant we used is a 1970s model painted lilac, not the most comfortable to get around in but that's not the point of the tour. Our guide (Andre) spoke good english and took us to see a few of the sights, as well as visiting a large carpark where we could drive the car as well. He also explained how the car works as well as the history of it. It turned many heads as we drove round.
My husband got up close and personal to this wonderful little car, enjoying a memorable go at driving her. We then had a very interesting guided trip in the city, learning about the WW2 resistance fighters and visiting the church they were holed up in. Excellent!
Martina is an amazing guide and knows everything about Prague!! Very service minded and helpful. Highly recommend!!!
This was more of a history tour rather than an adventure in the Trabant. Host took us to an old stadium where we looked at the car and read through a book on Trabants - totally useless and uninteresting- a good 20-30 minutes of wasted time. Her car was in desperate need of cleaning/vacuuming, and refurbishment.
Loved the experiance from start to finish ! My husband got the chance to drive this amazing little car too , I decide to leave it due to funny gear stick ! The lady was lovely , very chatty and informative . Really glad we booked this ! 😁😁
Martina was the best. We have taken Trabant tours in Krakow and were delighted when in Prague to be able to drive one. Martina was bright, funny, patient and a great teacher on how to drive a Trabant. Everyone should do this
Martina was fun and the tour the best. We have taken Trabant tours before. The experience of being to drive one was great. Martina was patient and informative. Next time in Prague we definitely do another tour with her. THIS IS A MUST DO
We booked the quick Trabant tour as my partner is a big classic car enthusiast. Martina was easy to contact, reasonably priced, payment taken on time and easy to communicate pick up and drop off arrangements. When Martina collected us from our hotel she was good fun and very knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would recommend to others.
The trips with Martina and her team are the best way to explore Prague in a different way! With a lot of fun and laughter are these rides a one in a lifetime experience!
Driving around town was a fun experience! Martina told us all and more about the places we went, and even the Trabant has no secret left for us! Go for it, you won't regret and never forget.
Martina met us on time and took us to the car. She was so enthusiastic and funny it made the experience fantastic. I even got to drive the Tranbi.
I and my cousin had a remarkable tour with Art of your Travel. Not only did we experience a ride by the Trabant car, but we had the chance to drive it as well. Martina was on time to pick us up from our hotel, she was friendly and willing to give us so much information about the city and its history but also express her own perspective. Definitely worth it!
The Trabant car was and is more a social statement and icon of the Cold War communist era. But with Martina Gregorcova behind the wheel providing you with a guided tour that’s second to none, the stunning city of Prague and its modern day history comes alive. One of the most entertaining people you’ll ever spend time with, the Trabant you’ll be chauffeured around in is also Martina’s everyday car. And from the passenger seat you’ll see and hear the city sights most tour guides know nothing about. You’ll get to experience a genuine KGB bar, the famous TV tower that’s been turned into exclusive apartments along with lunch in a worker’s cafe. Money extremely well spent and a day I’ll repeat each and every time I return to this magnificent city.
As a stranger in a new city, the best experiences are about people. Martina is legit: honest, funny, down to earth. This felt like hanging out with an old friend we’d never met before, laughing at the weirdness of the world. The car is quirky and cool, the sights off the beaten path, but by the company was priceless. Don’t miss it!
Met Martina and her gorgeous little Trabant and we took a very enjoyable and informative tour of Prague. These little emblematic communist era cars certainly turn heads and we had pedestrians turning and pointing to us as we drove through the streets. Martina was very knowledgeable and we certainly learned a lot about recent Prague events and current affairs. The opportunity to drive a Trabant was a little daunting at first, but Martina was very encouraging and I quickly got the hang of it and enjoyed a drive around the large parking area near Prague Stadium. Not sure I was quite "street ready" though. Martina would have picked us up from our apartment but we chose to meet her at a central location. Really easy. Martina dropped us back at our accommodation. What a great day.
