We had the best experience with Jakob (Kuba) . He made us very comfortable and he was so knowledgeable about all the food and beer that we tried. He navigated several different menus and beer selections along with a fine gelato that we would never have found on our own. I would highly recommend this tour.

Beer is a great passion in the Czech Republic. There are very particular ways that it is poured, served and even toasted with. Yes, Czechs don't just drink it, they savor it. Our guides will take you out of the tourist area to their favorite pubs and let you experience first hand the Czech beer drinking culture. Be ready to learn some local customs and phrases, This experience is suitable for both beer lovers and people not so convinced about this beverage. With the expertise of our guides you will be able to find the beer style right for you. Cheers!
Well known from the song “Good King Wenceslas” he was a duke of Bohemia and the patron saint of the Czechs. Though he died young, and by the hands of his bother, he is the icon of the Czech Republic. Also, locals use this as a meeting point. “We will meet under the tail” is a common phrase. After we meet we go off to our favorite pubs, just like you will on our tour.
Built in 1818, it now houses nearly 14 million items dedicated to natural science and historical collections. When the Soviets invaded Prague in 1968 they thought it was a seat of government and fired upon it. The Czechs have left these bullet holes in the building to show what they had to overcome. After extensive renovations the last few years it is now reopened.
In the 1300s Holy Roman Emperor Charles II doubled the size of the city by adding the area referred to as New Town. This area houses many of the concert halls, art galleries and theaters. The Czechs love art and it shows with the number of theaters and venues throughout the city. Where as the Old Town contains much of it’s original Gothic architecture, New Town contains some but also has many more modern styles.
As you walk through this lovely area of Prague to the various pubs your guide has selected. There will be a variety of style from very modern beer makers to older locations that have selected beers brewed just for the establishment. Along with the atmosphere and beer selections you will taste the delicious Czech tapas. You will be drinking in the same bars as the locals.
A modern structure finished in 1932. This unusual church was designed by the same man you redesigned the castle in the early 1900s. This Ark shaped church holds the largest clock face in the country. The man who designed this church also worked on Prague Castle in the early 1900s. This area is a favorite of Expats due to the number of cafes and pubs in the area. We will be sampling some of the fine beer and delicious food offerings of this area.
Considered one of the ugliest buildings in the world this structure was started by the communists in the late 1980s. Today it is a landmark with a rather unusual art instillation. There are 10 baby statues attached to the side of the building making them look as if they are climbing the building. These are one of the strange artworks by the local artist, David Cerny. This monument also means we are just steps away from a popular food and beer establishment with a selection of beer made just form them.
One of the interesting sites in Prague is this cultural landmark. This building housed steam pumps bring water from the underground. It was retired on the 1960s and converted into top end apartments. It's upper platform is 40 meters tall giving it a great view of the city.
The royal vineyards were once in this area. You may even notice the word "vino" in the name of the area. Today this is a vibrant area with many restaurants, bars and bakeries. Plenty of park area and and green space to relax. Here you will see the locals gather with friend and enjoy a glass of wine or beer.
Prague is somewhere around 20% green space. Culturally the Czechs love to go out and enjoy the parks with friends. This park is crowed almost every summer evening as people watch the sunset over the Prague skyline. Another Czech tradition is the beer gardens. What is a subset with friends without a good mug of beer or glass of wine?

First time in Prague, and we decided to book a Beer and Tapas tour. Our guide was Vojta, and he was amazing! He explained the history of the different beers, made excellent recommendations, and even shared a recipe for one of the traditional tapas we tasted because we definitely want to try it when we're back home! Highly recommend! Thank you for a great time! Kenia and Richie
The beer and tapas tour was great! Nikola took us by foot, metro, and tram to try local breweries and specialty small bites. Along the way we learned some of the history of Prague and how the breweries came to be. She also sent us other suggestions for restaurants and breweries to try. Definitely a fun experience and Nikola was a fun and entertaining guide!
4+ hours off fun on the Tapas Tour with our guide Guillaume Vergne (Will). He was fabulous and took us to local places that he favored that were not the typical tourist spots. Our favorite was Pivovar Lod. Great beer, great food, and great company!! Will was a pleasure to be with and made the experience something we won’t forget!! “Tuba Tim” Pospisil
We had a delightful experience We traveled by public transportation to several different areas to try and experience an array of different beers and tapas with a very experienced and knowledgeable guide..we enjoyed venturing out past the regular touristy areas..would do again ..our guide even helped me retrieve a mini tripod i had lost the evening before from a local establishment..thanks again 😁
We really enjoyed seeing and tasting at unique spots. Our guide (Vojtech) was knowledgeable about the food and beer that we enjoyed but also, the history, culture and vibe of Prague.
My wife and I booked this tour through a travel agent as we love to get a sense of a new city's food and culture by first going on a food/beer/wine tour. This was was a great way to get to know a bit of the culture and history of Prague. Our guide was easy to find, spoke great english, and was able to pivot in light of an unforeseen power failure. We saw a different area of Prague that we likely would have never ventured to without this. We got a great mix of beers and food. Go hungry!
We had a great experience on a tour with Vojta! We went to three unique locations and enjoyed seeing some of the area we had not experienced yet (a bit off the beaten path which we love). We experienced beer and tapas at each location. Vojta is very knowledgable about beer and the area too! After being on several tours with history and architecture, it was nice to chill and enjoy an evening of beers and tapas! We had thought we were going to take a tour in Pilsner, but decided on this due to timing and it worked out great! He was prompt and friendly and we really enjoyed the tour! Book it!
We had the best time with Will. Not only is he very knowledgeable, but he is a lot of fun. He took us to different places we would've never found on our own. He educated us on the city and the various beers. We had some delicious food as well. I am not a huge beer drinker and still absolutely loved this tour. I was with my adult children, and they truly enjoyed it as well.
Our tour guide Vojta was very enjoyable to be around and knew his stuff. Also, it was wonderful to experience the true food and beer culture in Prague!
Expert knowledge paired with personality. We really enjoyed learning about beer and Prague while drinking and eating tasty suds and bites.
Great guide who told us not only about beer, but other things about Prague. He was fun to hang out with. It was just our family and the guide. We probably could have found a lot of bars without the guide, but this made it more fun. He also recommended some food and other things to do.
Amazing experience! Guillaume Was a fantastic guide and was very knowledgeable on craft and local beers around the city.
Guillaume was an amazing host! We had a blast exploring the city with him and discovering spots well off the beaten path. I highly recommend this tour for beer lovers and for anyone looking for a unique, memorable experience.
Our beer and tapas tour with Guillaume was like strolling through a city with a friend. We explored places we would not have, and we enjoyed great beers, food and conversation. Guillaume is an awesome guide and person, and we highly recommend this tour if you like to get a taste of life off the beaten path.
A Fun walk. Great Beers by small local brewers. Snacks were tasty and unusual. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend this tour!
Fantastic tour! Vojtĕch is extremely knowledgeable about both beer and Prague. Everything was well organized and the tour included a nice mix of breweries with excellent beer and food choices at each stop. Vojtĕch is a great host and we highly recommend this tour!
I highly recement this tour. Vojta was very knowledgeable and was a great host. The food provided at each stop was excellent and was more than we could finish.
Johanka was an amazing tour guide! We did a private tour of four of us and had an absolutely amazing experience. Johanka provided us with so much information on the areas we went as well as the beer/food we enjoyed. Worth every dollar!!! She went above and beyond by learning our preferences and tailoring recommendations! Johanka is truly an amazing guide for this wonderful city.
We recently used Prague City Tours for a corporate event, and they couldn't have been more attentive and helpful; before, and during the event! The team there helped us plan our team building events and transfers, very last minute. Highly recommend, we will be using them again when we return to Prague!
Vojta was awesome! Very informative and a great host. Tour was very well organized with a great sampling of various beers and outstanding tapas. It was a nice mix of new breweries and quaint neighborhood pubs with a lot of history and character. We would highly recommend this tour if you are visiting Prague.
Wonderful time strolling around Prague with Jan Friedman. We saw places we wouldn’t have found on our own. We sampled six great Czech beers. We also sampled Kokoska, (Czech pastry) and Pernik, (ginger bread). And we thoroughly enjoyed the roast pork, dumplings, sauerkraut, potato salad, smoked pork, and beer sausage. Jan is a third generation resident of Prague and was very knowledgeable about Prague’s history.
Vojtech was not just a tour guide, he was like a long time friend!! He took us to this hidden places in town with the top beers and tapas, and all places were full of locals! We loved it!!!!! Woke up today with a very kind email from our friend with a list of restaurants, clubs, places to visit.. thank you!!!!!!!
The tour was a fun way to see Prague, a little history lesson while drinking beer! Fun way to get a feel for the city. Thanks Vojta!
Our experience with Vojta’s beer tour was absolutely amazing! As regular tourists looking to explore Prague beyond the usual landmarks, we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Vojta brought the city to life in such a unique and authentic way. He took us off the beaten path to local pubs and hidden spots we never would have found on our own.
Thank you Vojta for a great Beer tour. During the evening we tasted various beers and enjoyed delicious tapas. We recommend to visit.
After a long day, we almost skipped the beer tour, but we're so glad we didn't! Vojta's tour was unlike any other—personal, unique, and a true glimpse into local life. Instead of the usual tourist spots, we got to explore a local town, drinking beer where the locals hang out and experiencing how they live. Vojta was the best guide we had on our entire trip. He was incredibly personable and friendly, and he made sure the tour was tailored to our tastes. He picked out the perfect beers and tapas, making the whole evening enjoyable. It felt more like hanging out with a friend than being on a tour. If you want an authentic and fun experience, Vojta is your guy!
This is a great way to see some of the less traveled parts of Prague, and drink some top notch beers! Vojta was an absolutely fantastic guide, and knows the art and science behind beer making. I would highly recommend putting this on the list of things to do while in Prague.
We took the private beer tour of Prague as one of our last stops on our holiday 2023 trip and loved it. We were taken to a residential neighborhood and worked (drank) our way back towards Old Town. Cannot recommend this enough!
Our guide Vojta was excellent! We wanted to see some local pubs off the path of a typical tourist and he did not disappoint. We really enjoyed every selection Vojta made for us; he was professional and knowledgeable and we learned about life in Prague. Highly recommend!
The Beer and Tapas tour with Vojta was so great! We loved trying the different beers and learning about their history, especially at bars we would have never thought to visit without his guidance! We loved Dva Kohouti, the last bar of the night, it felt like a small piece of home that we were missing mid-trip. Meeting up with Vojta was like catching up with an old friend - we would definitely recommend this tour to anyone that wants to try something off the beaten path in Prague!
We had a private Czech beer and tapas tour with Vojtech. Vojtech was a wonderful, very personable guide and was very informative on Czech beers and food. He took us to some smaller, off-the-beaten path bars and restaurants, and even found an establishment when we had a special food request. When walking thru the streets, Vojtech also provided info on some buildings and history. I would very much recommend.
The views were amazing! Saw all of the highlights in Prague and learned a lot. Food was delicious. Highly recommend!
We had a great time with our guide, Michaela! The bars and tapas were really good. Michaela (Misa) was very personable and went above and beyond for us (especially helping me get back an item I accidentally left in our Uber).
We had a private tour; Johanka was our guide & was GREAT! She met us promptly at our hotel then took us to a local neighborhood where we bar hopped sampling different beers & unique tapas. Johanka was a lot of fun & engaging. It was great to hit the non-tourist places too. We learned how beer was “born”-all the amazing ingredients that go into it, along with some history. We highly recommend Johanka & this tour!
Our tour guide couldn’t have been nicer or given us a more fun experience. If you are in the Prague area and are interested in trying new beers I 100% recommend booking this tour.
Johanka was interesting, informative, humorous and just plain fun to be with! We had a great time visiting local pubs and sampling foods and beer. From a beautiful city view to listening to a Dixie land jazz band on a brewery boat the tour is highly recommended and make sure you ask for Jo. Thanks for a wonderful evening.
Highly recommend the tour. Guide was very knowledgeable about beer, food, and the city. Our guide also spoke English very well.
We had so much fun on this tour! Even though we're not serious beer drinkers, Johanka showed us some sites and neighborhoods in Prague that we would never have seen otherwise and we really enjoyed trying different pub snacks and sampling the beer. (So much beer!) Johanka herself is super fun and anyone who finds themselves on her tour will have a great time!
Our family loved the Beer and Tapas tour with Johanka. We learned unique and fun Czech traditions and enjoyed sampling Czech foods and beers. Johanka’s passion, knowledge and fun sense of humor made it an unforgettable and fun family experience that I guarantee we will remember as a highlight of our Prague vacation for many years to come. I highly recommend Johanka.
She did a great job of balancing the fun and teaching Czech culture and the history of Czech beer. It was so fun we went an hour over the agreed time and no one felt ready to go. Would certainly recommend for all. 6/5 Stars
This guy loves his beer! We had the privilege of having Vojt as our guide. Each stop was a local favorite (no tourist traps)! Our favorite place was Brewery Trilobit. We had a four beer tasting tray which Vojt hand picked for us. Additionally, we ate delicious pickle cheese, sausage, and fresh bread. Vojt took photos for us and sent these with the recap (including links) for every stop in case we wanted to return. He even gave recommendations for great restaurants and beer tastings for the remainder of our stay! Finally, he provided his personal phone number in case we needed anything (our local friend)!
Our favorite part of the tour was our tour guide,Vojtech L. He was wonderful. Very flexible, knowledgeable about beer, choose great places to go and we had excellent conversations a out beer, food, Prague and Eastern Europe. It felt like we were out with an old friend not a tour guide we just me. I would give him a 10 on a scale of 1 to 5.
A great way to see different parts of the city. We rode the subway and then walked back towards downtown having different beers and snacks in five local pubs. Johanka was very nice and a wealth of information about Prague and the area. She explained the beers and the beer culture of Prague. We did a walk through a historic area full of embassies, wonderfull architecture. Great views of the city. We finished on a river boat bar and then had a nice walk to our room in the old section.
Fantastic guide, Vojta! He took us to really good pubs that we wouldn’t found on our own. We tasted beers from smaller breweries.
Our guide Johanka was very friendly and very knowledgeable. She took us to some great locations that we wouldn't have found on our own. We were really impressed with the variety of beers we sampled and it was a great opportunity to sample beers that we wouldn't have thought to try. We also got to enjoy some famous tapas dishes which were delicious!
Vojta is the perfect guide. We had a wonderful evening together and tried a lot of different beers and food. He showed us nice areas in Prague we wouldn’t have gone to without him and had a realy nice tour. I give him the best of recommendations.
We had a great time with Jan, he was so knowledgeable and told the best stories! We enjoyed each place we went to and their unique qualities. It was definitely worth the price of the tour and would highly recommend to anyone wanting to learn more about the city!
We had a great time, I mean how could you not!? Beer, food, and history all in a lovely neighborhood-not a tourist trap and away from the crowds. I recommend this to anyone-even locals- to get out and explore what’s new. Misa is REALLY passionate about beer and she knows her stuff. You won’t be disappointed.
Ok I actually got to do a Private WOMEN'S HISTORY TOUR -- WHICH WAS AMAZING!!! I am still glowing from our wonderful walking tour around town last week and am so so happy I made the investment and took the time to really see Prague from a feminist perspective. We started with the legendary mythological Czech women of the nation's medieval history, and ended with compassionate and courageous women of the communist era. My every question was answered and I learned so so much. This is a fantastic organization and I highly recommend their specialty tours –- it was such a treat. Thank you for making this an amazing trip for me and quenching my thirst for learning!
