The cruise lasts a couple of hours and although you have to pay for all drinks the food was varied and really nice. Service was great and a relaxing way to see Prague from the river. Cheaper, shorter trips with no food are available but there was something wonderful about having a great meal watching the city go by.
The cruise itself was nice however the signs enabling you to access the commentary were not well placed and we didn't actually see them until we were on the way off the boat so we didn't benefit from this. The food was also nice. The boat was not full however they seemed to have placed all guests at neighbouring tables which actually made it impossible to get out of your seat if you were at the window without disturbing the others on your side of the table so you could shuffle out. The thing that was the biggest red flag however was that we were told on our voucher to meet at a kiosk in a square at 11:15, we arrived earlier than this to make sure we could find the place but we were then told that we had to get to the boat for 11:30 and it was not close! I was travelling with older family members and family members with decreased mobility and had we only arrived at 11:15 this would definitely not have been possible, it was a near thing as it was. It would be much better if the meeting point was at the ticket office at the dock (which is only a few meters from the boat) instead of in the middle of the town.
People seemed more interested in the complementary food than the sights, as the boat rode around in circles. The cue for the buffet was more than half an hour. After 5 minutes the accordion player was insufferable as he repeated the songs continuously. He must have been a mute, as he said nothing; most performers introduce themselves & the songs. This tour was a mistake for me.
We went on the lunch river boat cruise today, had a great time. The buffet lunch was very nice, and were given a free aperitif on boarding. Sat up top to see the amazing views, loved it and highly recommend, the staff were very friendly and helpful
The buffet was excellent with plenty of choice . The staff were very attentive The views were stunning
Enjoyed views of the city from a new perspective, served with a nice buffet lunch and wonderful music.
The views are exceptional! Food very good. Loved the live accordion music! Thank you! Would go again!
Getting to the kiosk at 11:20 ready for our transfer at 11:30 only to be told we had to find our own way to the pier to get on the boat. When I booked the trip it stated that an air conditioned coach would be transporting us to the pier, which was included in the price. We eventually got to the pier but were told the incorrect bus stop to get off, which stopped at pier 16 and our boat was on pier 3b. Once we were on the boat the experience was very good. All the staff were attentive and there was plent of choice with regard to the buffet. There was both hot and cold food, as well as fruit and desserts. Again, on returning to the pier there was no air conditioned coach to return us to the kiosk. We were not very happy that what was advertised was not what we received.
Had a fabulous time! The food was great. The wait staff very professional. The music an added touch.. would recommend this lunch cruise highly.
Great nice view of Prague Charles Bridge etc while dining lunch. Buffet was okay but drinks not provided. Cheesecake lack of cheese taste. Can chill on rooftop to take pictures. Lucky weather was good.
Highly recommend was easy to get to and find with help from the man in the kiosk who explained it very well. The boat was a bit of class from the start for the price it is highly worth it and we throughly enjoyed our experience
The name of the boat is Grand Bohemian and it is pristine and a lot nicer than I thought it would be. The crew was very attentive and the food was bountiful and very good. Also, the old accordion player was a trip. A great way to spend two hours in a magical city
Was a great way to see the sites. Good value for cash, food and drink can be bought if wanted.......
Although it was quite a pleasant float down the river, it was disappointing as there was very little talk about the places we were passing and much of what was said was not clear enough to be heard. It was obviously a tape recording that was on a loop and also repeated itself as we went one way and then back up. The food was OK, but no good for a vegetarian really. I don't think it was value for money this time - sorry!
We took 2 hours lunch cruise on Vitava river cruise, it was most beautiful experience, seeing all sights from boat while eating delicious food. Live music entertained us while eating. Also we set on a upper deck to enjoy beautiful weather and sunshine. Everyone should take this cruise while in Prague. Lunch cruise is better than dinner cruise because you can see all beauty of Prague at day light.
<p>First of all, the driver who took us to the pier was rudehe didnt seem to like people. Secondly, the cruise is not really that nice...there is not much to see past the old town sights. The food was ok but on the ad, it said there would be live music. There was no live music. And the tour was in sevearl languagessome very loud and screechy in my ears. I didnt think it was worth the money we paid.</p>
<p>I found the interpreter to be less than enthusiastic about being there. Also, too many varied countries were on board and the large group of Asians who were not involved in our group did not know etiquette and kept yelling, laughing loudly and chattering the WHOLE time the interpreter was trying to explain to those of us in his group what we were seeing. Less than an enjoyable time.</p>
<p>This was a great tour. Pick up point was easy to find, bus to the docks was timely, food on board the boat was delicious! Our entire group, ages 11-70 really enjoyed going through the lock. Only bad point was the bus does not pick you up from the boat. You must walk back to your starting point. A little difficult for a 70 year old who walks with a cane, but we made it</p>
<p>The food was good, but the sight of Prague from the river is not as interesting as some other capitals.</p>
<p>very nice and relaxing trip. fortunately we had a nice sunny day, the buffet was great with plenty of food and plenty of choices. the pick up point was easy to find but the return to ur hotel is not provided.</p>
<p>Excellent way to see sites while also having a very acceptable Buffett lunch,.staff were very pleasant<br/> Helped along by a beautiful sunny day</p>
<p>We enjoyed the trip. The welcome on board was warm and we were very impressed by the lady who told us a lot about prague and its history. She spoke about 5 languages and I must say in a fluent way. Very impressive and she was most helpful and kind. I can recommend her as a trip leader in every way!</p>
<p>1. We tried to call the number listed to find out about parking. It was 9 AM, nobody answered and the mailbox was full. I sent two emails and neither was replied. 2. We got there 15 mins early and it was rainy and cold. We are in our 70s. We asked if the bus with the driver was ours and was told to wait until called. After 20 cold minutes we were allowed on that very same bus. 3. As we were riding I asked questions and was told, lady I can't answer that until we get on the boat Again he replied, Lady I told you to wait, I've told you too much already. There were only 4 people on that bus and we were together. Later on the boat, I asked a question and was reprimanded for not paying attention! It was he that was not listening before I asked about something else entirely. My sister told him he was rude to which he replied, I know I am. After we found out that we were Americans and not British as he thought, he got friendly. By that time we had been so insulted and ill treated, we just looked at the scenery.<br/> Between the four of us, we have travelled to at least 50 countries and have never been treated so rude. We would not recommend your company to any of our friends.</p>
<p>I did think we would leave the city on this river cruise but we stayed within the city limits. Having said that I found it very interesting and informative. The lunch was buffet style with plenty of choice. I would recommend it to others</p>
<p>I really enjoyed my lunch time cruise. The 3 course meal was very good. The only thing I would have liked it to be a bit longer.</p>
<p>This excursion was exceptionally good!! The food was wonderful and tasty and the views were spectacular. We had unusually warm, sunny weather on November 6th and everyone in the group really enjoyed this excursion and seeing Prague from the river!</p> <p>Marilyn Byfield, Kelowna, BC Canada</p>
<p>The cruise was okay, but not what I expected. It was great to hear stories about Prague, but our guide was uninvolved most of the tour and sat at the back of the boat drinking. I was also hoping for traditional Czech food, but the food was international - just lousy basic dishes, like school cafeteria food. If you walk along the river, you'll get the same idea, but without the cost.</p>
<p>Outstanding view of Prague. This is my third visit to the city. I saw and learned more on this tour than on all my previous visits. The guide was brilliant. Arrangements from pickup to drop-off were very efficient. Buffet was extensive and delicious. I could not recommend this tour more highly. The brilliantly sunny day definitely helped!</p>
<p>This excursion was an extremely negative experience because of the rude, hostile and strange behaviour of the tour guide.<br/> Throughout he was aggressive and when challenged resorted to finger pointing and raised voice. His exact words at one stage were" I am a 65 year old man, I have a doctorate from the university, I speak 10 languages, this is not what I do, I am not here to be your servant"<br/> Several times he refused to give his name.<br/> When his offensive behaviour continued we asked him too leave us alone - he refused to do this and followed us to the top deck insisting on giving his commentary even when we reminded him he was no longer welcome to do that.<br/> The only positive was that my friend and I met two lovely Australian ladies who were experiencing him in the same way.<br/> I was apprehensive as I was going on an excursion by myself the following day and if he had been leading it I would have called off - I didn't need to have worried it was a very positive experience that day !</p>
<p>This would have to be the worst tour I have ever done with the rudest tour guide ever. The tour started at Republic Square with a mini bus it take us to the river cruise. There were 4 of us. My friend Lyn and me from Australua and 2 lovely Scottish ladies. We were told to wait on to bus for the guide. He arrived about 10 minutes later looking frazzled and sat in the bus and spoke to the driver and intead of introducing himself and welcoming us he started with "I speak 10 languages and started talking about the buildings we were passing. We apparently went to pick up somebody else but they didn't turn up. So off toghe boat and on the way he told us that we would get a welcome drink and then the rest if the drinks we had to pay for and he also said that we would have to fund our own way back to the square at the end of the trip. We arrived and the boat we were ushered on to did not resemble the one on your website but looked liken old barge. We were told to site downstairs yourselves while in the other area there was a group of Italians. From then on it got worse - pen of the Scottish ladies asked the guide to tell us how to get back to the square. He rudely told her to sit down and wouldn't answer the question. She tried again and again got the same rude reply. I said to him that there was no need to be rude to her as she was asking a simple questions that we all wanted the answer to. He yelled at me "I am 65 years old and a University Professor" my reply was "I don't care if you are 165 years old you do not need to be rude to the lady". It got worse from there so I will just list all the things we did not like as it is too long to explain:<br/> - very rude guide<br/> - the boat was old, dated bad looked like a barge not a cruise boat<br/> - for most of the trip (at least 3/4 of it) we were taken to the industrial part of Prague<br/> - the food was average<br/> - a glass of water was the same price as a glass of wine</p>
<p>very good tour, lunch was plentiful and with the sunshining it was a lovley day.</p>
<p>Trip on river lacked a guide to point out points of interest<br/> Lunch buffet excellent but most of time was taken up eating the meal</p>
<p>A good way to see a different view of Prague. i have previously done the dinner cruise, but the daytime one gives you the chance to see much more as you cruise up and down the Vltava River. Great for photographers!</p>
<p>Wonderful views along the river, good length of cruise. Food quality wasn't outstanding but as expected for buffet style.</p>
<p>We didn't enjoy this cruise, there was nothing much to see along the river and the meal was not as good as it could have been. Unfortunately the weather was not good that day either. We would not do this tour again.</p>
<p>Never understood why we had to meet in old town for a bus ride to the boat which would have been an easier walk than finding the kiosk near Powder Gate! When we arrived at the boat, we were totally confused as to where we were. I asked where we would meet the bus after the cruise and was told, very rudely by Vera the bus guide, that there was no bus ride back and that "it's not our responsibility to get you back". Fortunately we were able to figure it out after checking the landmarks and bridges. Crazy, this involved 4 couples, of course....we were all Americans! The cruise is just that, a cruise. No sightseeing guide, no commentary and at least 25 minutes out of the 2 hour cruise are spent going into and out of a lock where you can't see anything. The buffet lunch was nice, lots of hot and cold items to choose from....drinks are not included and, compared to how much you pay in Prague, are quite pricey. I would not recommend this tour.</p>
<p>Overall an agreeable trip with just one exception - the extraordinarily long wait to go through a lock with no obvious traffic ahead.</p>
<p>Seeing Prage at night from the river is like a fairy tale.... loved it.... nice food and drinks.</p>
<p>The food was quite good and the boat was not crowded which made it more comfortable for everyone. For the price I think the coffee should at least be included even if the wine wasn't.</p>
<p>An enjoyable trip up and down the river. We joined at Republic Square as directed, but simply got dropped off at the boat and left - no pick up was included, so we had to walk back into the centre. Buffet lunch was fine, plenty of choice. There were only about 30 people on the boat, so there was no rush or queuing. Only complaint was that the boat "idled" for quite a while, eeking out the time until its allotted finish - this is due, in part, to the need to get through the lock both ways - as it happened, we had no delays, hence the circling.</p>
<p>cruise was excellent all the food you could eat, going through locks was interesting</p>
<p>this was a waste of my time. the food was yuck! got dropped off but then had to make my way back on my own.</p>
I booked this for my last day in Prague, having spent almost a week in the city. I used this as a time filler as my flight out was an evening one. The cruise takes you further up river than I had expected, through the lock systems on the Vltava. The food was average, (tinned vegetables) but you can get great photos from the open top deck after the buffet meal on the return visit. Not a way to see Prague on your first day, but a good way to get one last look.
Definitely worth spending an afternoon on the river. Food good. Being able to sit at the top of the boat after eating is very refreshing and gives splendid views of bridges.
The food was very delicious, the accordion player was funny and it was a pleasant atmosphere! We actually had seats in the middle row, but since not all windows were full when we put them down, we were able to sit down at the window. It was a very relaxing tour!

April 29, 2024 - If I could, I would give 3 and a half stars on TA. 4 are a bit too many, but you can't do otherwise. It was one of the optional excursions, organized by our tour operator, during our stay in Prague. Cost €40.00 per capita, with lunch on board. As for lunch, it wasn't the best. Not for the food, made up of good local products, but for the small number of tables on which to consume and for the confusion that is generated when the "counters" that contain the products (all buffet style) are opened, in a very small environment. The mini-cruise, however, which lasts 2 hours (or a little more) (lunch included) is nice (especially on a beautiful sunny day, as happened to us). You travel on the Vltava, from one side of the city to the other and admire its beauty. An experience, in my opinion, to be done once, but not to be repeated.
It was nice and although there was a lot going on you didn't have to wait long. Also food was typical and also what for kids was included (noodle and schnitzel)
Trevlig tur i liten mysig båt. Lagom lång tid. Buffén kunde varit roligare, men som enkel lunch duger det bra.
