Tomáš was thoughtful and helpful with our small group. He was especially considerate of one person’s allergies and found authentic Czech substitutes that enhanced the experience. He was personable, knowledgeable, and happy to share his perspective on Prague. We are happy to recommend this tour.

Itinerary
We'll start our journey in what was originally a working-class neighborhood, which is now one of Prague's trendiest spots. Its industrial charm makes it one of the most unique. A vibrant mix of alternative cultural hubs and numerous bistros, cafes, and restaurants dot the area. The choices are endless!
Visiting Libeřské lahůdky feels like a visiting your Czech grandmother. This family-owned business has been passionately crafting traditional Czech cakes, sandwiches, and other delicacies for over 30 years. You're going to devour their flagship product, which the city is going crazy about.
This former factory offers a unique blend of industrial spaces with a variety of cultural, artistic, and gastronomic experiences. Under one roof, you'll find a café, dance studio, cinema, event hall, gallery, multimedia space, food truck, and a distillery. Are you ready to taste?
The next stop takes us to a former slaughter area, But don't worry. What was formerly known for its industrial odors, has become the cool and hip epicenter of culture and gastronomy. It's like Prague's very own Soho, infused with the industrial charm of Chicago. Plus it's a tourist-free zone, where you will enjoy fresh produce from local farmers at the city's largest and most authentic farmers market.
What Prague residents have dreamed of for decades is now a reality: a pedestrian bridge is connecting two trendy districts. The sleek contemporary architecture seamlessly complements Prague's historic skyline. Be among the first to cross this bridge and perhaps even take a quick dip in the river at Štvanice Island?
Following a major flood, this former ghetto transformed into the charming Karlin district, now known as the den of hipsters. And the local gastronomy? Simply too tasty to resist.
The Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius is one of the largest religious structures of the 19th century in the Czech Republic. Constructed in the mid-19th century, it stands as one of the most significant architectural landmarks of the Neo-Romanesque style.
In the past, hundreds of soldiers marched here; today, it's a place for fun and chill. These barracks have become a favorite spot for visitors across generations. The main attractions are in the central courtyard, featuring a giant sandbox, outdoor cinema, mini observation tower, bar, sauna, and beach volleyball court. In the area where the original military pool stood, you'll now find a stylish café. The garages have been transformed into a music club, and a fantastic gallery.

We had a fantastic time with Tomas! We sampled many local dishes and learned a great deal about the history of Prague and Czechia. Tomas was knowledgeable, engaging, and made the experience both enjoyable and informative. We highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore the local culture, cuisine, and history in a memorable way.
We enjoyed this experience touring neighborhoods and experiencing what "life like a local" looks and feels like. The tour included stops at a local pastry shop, Prague's only distillery, busy local farmers market, local wine shop and lunch savoring local favorites. We enjoyed listening to the history along with sampling many flavors of this wonderful city.
Authentic Prague Food Tour If you want to get a sampling of what the locals eat and drink in Prague and an overview of the city while you’re doing it, this tour is for you! Tomàs was an outstanding guide and we enjoyed his company as well as his expertise. This was a great beginning to our stay in Prague. Drinking wine on the sidewalk outside a local wine spot with the snow falling was a highlight!
Thomas was great, we met and we were immediately immersed in Prague's rich history and delightful delicacies. From the beer and wine to the meats, cheeses and garlic stuffed peppers, the entire time we were together was full of laughter and delight. I would highly recommend Thomas to guide anyone thru a wonderful journey.
Tomas, took us to some unique food stops and made sure we got to know a lot about traditional Czech food. He was also very knowledgeable about the culture and gave us a great insight into daily life. Tomas was only too willing to answer our May questions. All up he was a great guide and was passionate about Czech food.
Great walking and food tour! We had already tried a lot of local food, but we tried new stuff and learned about its role in culture, parties, family. Tomáš was very friendly and knowledgeable. We were in a nice neighborhood but it wasn’t touristy. The whole experience felt authentic. Definitely recommend Tomáš and the experience
Fantastic Tour! Tomas was a great tour guide. Very knowledgeable of food, history, and Prague in general. He was extremely pleasant. I highly recommend him as a guide.
Tomas was a delightful guide. He was knowledgeable and personal, and selected an interesting venue for the tasting outside of the Old Town. We benefited from down to earth, less touristy locations, which gave a better feel for how and where locals eat. We highly recommend Tomas and the tour.
Tomas was a great host. We meandered from place to place trying Czech delicacies we would never have found on our own. He told us stories as an accompaniment to the food that shared the local culture and history. With a good sense of humor and perspective we finished our sojourn with full bellies, an appreciation for the broad spectrum of Czech food and a palate appreciative of the local beverages. I recommend Tomas without reservation.
What a great use of our time in Prague! Tomas was an amazing source of info and personal stories, history of different foods and off the beaten path treasures. No touristy spots on this one. We toured a few neighborhoods instead of Old Town! Everything we sampled was larger than we expected-so be forewarned, this is a meal or more! Our mid-morning tour served as breakfast, lunch and appetizers before a late dinner. Thanks, Tomas, you made our first day in Prague super special.
Tomas was the perfect guide, effortlessly taking us past the main sights of Prague as we wandered between a delightful variety of food and drink shops. His knowledge of the city and its history massively helped to give us additional cultural understanding for the place and its food. We had an amazing time, and the 3 hours together just flew by as if we were catching up with an old friend. Thanks so much Tomas
Tomas was an incredibly knowledgable guide during our Prague day tour. He was so patient with our group of 6. He speaks perfect English so our brains weren’t straining to understand what he was explaining as we covered the city. He certainly met our expectations and even went above and beyond.
This tour is a delightful way to both explore Prague and experience various forms of Czech cuisine in the company of a charming and knowledgeable young man. From bakeries to butchers, farmers markets to wine bars, we had an enjoyable time tasting and learning to appreciate Czech cuisine. Highly recommended.
My young adult son and I did a food tour with Tomáš, and it was an absolute highlight of our trip. We don’t usually go for guided tours when we travel, but my son was curious about the food scene—and we both love to eat, so since we only had a couple of days in Prague, this seemed like a good activity. I'm really glad we did! This experience felt more like meeting up with a local friend who knows all the best spots and is excited to share them with you. Tomáš was friendly and welcoming, and he shared personal stories along the way that made the whole tour feel authentic and relaxed. We got to try tons of delicious food—enough to skip meals for the rest of the day. Tomáš also took us to a local market and pointed out some fascinating buildings and corners of the city we wouldn’t have found on our own. I would 100% recommend this tour—and especially Tomáš. He made the day truly memorable!
Visiting Prague for the first time and have just enjoyed a food tour in the company of Tomas. What a tasty way to learn more about the culture and cuisine. We sampled a traditional food often seen on special occasions, a wheel, some interesting flavour combinations and a different way to drink beer. The tour offers a great selection of foods and we were certainly full by the end Highly recommended. Thank you
Excellent Tour I have been on numerous tours and Tomas is one of the best guides I have ever had. We covered a lot of ground and he made the five hour walking tour experience fun. Incredibly informative and highly recommended.
The food tour is the best way for everybody to start their Praha trip. Get a little away from the historic sights and dive into real Czech life and food, which Tomáš gives insight to with funny anecdotes, well chosen food spots and his very friendly and relaxed way. Also we got to see a few great sights, we wouldn’t have seen otherwise! We were a family with grandma and teenagers and all enjoyed the trip alike. Thanks Tomáš and a definite recommendation from our side!!
We had the BEST time on our food tour with Tomas in Prague! We loved that it was out of the touristy areas and we enjoyed history and fun and delicious food. It was a highlight of our trip and highly recommend Tomas!!
We took this tour the day we landed in Prague, and it was the perfect introduction to the city. Tomáš took us on a relaxing and enlightening stroll through the new town, giving us local insight on the highlights of this part of the city, while stopping in between to enjoy ten different varieties of authentic Czech cuisine. The traditional open-face sandwiches were delicious, as were the different sausages we tried out at a local deli, and while it's hard to pick a favourite, it was the beef in svíčková sauce (made with root vegetables and cream) that truly stole our hearts. Tomáš was a great guide - knowledgeable, calm, keen to answer our questions, and very kind to help out when one of our group was not feeling very well. Definitely recommend this tour for anyone visiting Prague with an appetite for seeing a different side of the city and enjoying some good food!
First Class - Casual As an American who was raised abroad and have been a tour operator for the past 13 years, I have met and hired a lot of local guides. I read the reviews on Tomáš before hiring him to take the three couples I have been traveling around Europe with, and I am so glad I did! He met us at my clients' hotel and was immediately helpful, engaging, and also very relaxing. He modified the tour around our time and interests and was a superb ambassador of his beautiful country. My clients loved his stories, his energy, and his professionalism. I would have zero hesitation about hiring him for a well-informed, delightful introduction to Prague!!! Top notch!!
We are six friends visiting Prague and we could not be more pleased with our experience with Tomasz as our tour guide. Not only were we introduced to various Czech dishes and drinks, but he also informed us about the architecture, history and social issues as we walked through neighbourhoods off the beaten path. We visited a deli, pastry shop, butcher shop, wine shop and local market and restaurant. He is charming, knowledgeable and engaging. It was a three hour social experience. You will not be disappointed. (And I should add that we range in age from 62 to 77 so it was not too strenuous for anyone.)
Tomas was exceptional. He was very friendly conversational and told us so much about Prague. I would highly recommend using him. it was the best Food Tour I’ve ever been on and I’ve been on quite a few.
We had Tomas on our Prague food walking tour and he was fantastic. We went to several different places to eat traditional food, sweets, street food and drink some Czech wine (who knew!). I would recommend Tomas to anyone for a fun experience.
Tomáš took our group of 5 friends on a fun and informative walk around a vibrant neighborhood. We made multiple stops for food and drinks. Tomáš was able to customize the experience to our preferences. He gave us historical information and pointed out sites and explained traditions of the area. We all had an excellent time. Must do way to see the city!
This was the best tour of our trip. Tomas was amazing. Friendly and knowledgable. All the food was fantastic and was more than we could eat. Definitely a don’t miss!
Great tour , Tomas is a knowledgeable and likeable host . Would happily recommend him to others. He took us to places we would not have gone to eat ourselves and also explained the locations and the food on the tour . We had fun !!
Tomas did an excellent job of taking us to places we would have never found, telling us about the food and sharing his favorite examples of each type of cuisine. I loved every stop, especially the sandwich shop. The Market was colorful and he explained the basis of Hungarian cooking. Absolutely loved his tour with us. If you want to experience some excellent food exposure and the stories of the shops you are visiting, this is a wonderful choice.
Really enjoyed this tour with Tomas! He was knowledgeable and engaging. The tour was outside of the most touristy area, which was great!
Tomas provided a great tour of Prague's lesser known food outlets. We tried a variety of local specialties and got to visit some butcher and cheese shops. The local neighborhoods were a great way to explore the less touristy areas of Prague. One thing that was different was that he took us to an Asian restaurant - not really what I wanted when exploring the local food culture so maybe mention that you one want Czech food unless you want to try Asian food done Czech style!. Tomas had great info! Definitely go PRIVATE or small group to be able to get into the smaller establishments.
Tomas was a great guide to eating in Prague. Very enjoyable and gets you out of the tourist area. Tasted some local gin and wine.
We are a group of 4 visiting Prague for the 1st time . We love tasting foods from the Country we are visiting. We decided to book this tour , 1st because it was a personal small tour and because it specifically was geared for foods that the locals ate . This way we did not waste time trying to figure out what was Chez. good chez. Food. Thomas was truly amazing , he told us about the area we were in ( not a tourist Area) , The different foods that the locals ate, and what was their cuisine . We had open face sandwiches , desserts , grilled meats in a butcher shop , local wines and the best at the end …. Beer with local dishes . Not only was it a food tour of the local cuisine but a walking tour of the neighborhood. Would highly, highly recommend this food tour and especially Tomas . A definitely highlight of our trip .
Had a really immersive experience tasting local foods and being able to visit neighborhoods outside of Old Town. Tomas was very knowledgeable, provided a range of dishes to try and even took us to the market where we tasted unusual fresh items. Punctual, professional and full of information. Thank you!
Tomas was an excellent tour guide! Was very knowledgeable and friendly. Tour was located in two neighborhoods that were not very touristy and felt authentic. We traveled as a couple and would highly recommend booking this tour towards the beginning of your trip so you can get more great recommendations for the remainder of your trip.
What an amazing tour with a local in Prague. Thank you Tom, for such an interesting tour for three generations. Food, local farmers markets, art, architecture, history, typical Czech life, sights and the best view over Prague! It was a perfect private tour with you! We will come back!
From dinner to desserts to drinks (and not just beer) Tomas had a keen insight into the best local spots and provided interesting facts and tidbits about the history of the dish. We loved the stories about the food his grandmother prepares. It was especially nice to tour an area outside of the tourist centre and experience a more authentic Prague. Highly recommend!!
Tomas was an excellent tour guide. He was kind, responsive, fun and put together an excellent comprehensive and perfect food tour of Prague. We learned so much about the history and architecture of the city as well as enjoying delicious food we never would’ve found on our own and had great drinks and explored neighborhoods that were outside of the tourist areas. He is excellent company and knows so much about the history of the Czech Republic that he shared with us. He also helped us to plan our sightseeing for the remainder of our trip I couldn’t give a higher recommendation
Tomas led an interesting and fun tour through the food of Czechia Much insight into off the beaten path locations including a visit to a local market. Provided fascinating background into development of Holesovice neighborhood and Prague in general. Would highly recommend this tour with Tomas.
Travelled to Prague for a few days and really wanted to do more than see the main tourist attractions. It was an opportunity to sample traditional foods and visit a local neighborhood with its cafes, shops, and food market. Tomas was an excellent guide. The private tour was a splurge for me but very memorable and enjoyable. Well worth the cost.
We did a food tour of Prague today with Tomas and it was fantastic! Our 20 something boys had a great time. Tomas was great at engaging with them and us and told us a lot about the Czech Republic generally, and the food here. We have learned that the best initial tour of any city is a food tour with a local. The food is important but they also give you inside tips about navigating the city - with tourist must sees and the hidden gems. Tomas provided lots of info about both. Thanks Tomas for helping us to understand and have a great time in Prague!
Tomas (pronounced Toe-maash) was an amazing guide for our group of 4! He was personable and flexible (worked within limitations). We wanted a mix of food, culture, art/architecture, history, and wanted to learn a few local words. He fulfilled our wish list perfectly in a 5 hour walking tour! This is even more amazing in that we were a group of 4 women across 3 generations - so not easy to please everyone but we all came away with smiles on our faces and a place in our hearts for Praha (Prague). Tomas even made himself available before and after tour to answer questions and gave recommendations on what to do, what to see, and what to eat on the remaining days we were in town.
It is a perfect tour with lots of good information and some really good local food and drinks, for our next visit, we'll book again with Tomáš.
We had a fantastic time with TOMÁŠ! We told him in advance that we were more spirits and beer than wine and he tailored the tour to accommodate! Amazing food from the off tourist areas that we would never have explored otherwise. We ate and drank like locals with zero crowds. He gave us the lay of the land and a lot of history and cultural insight, describing the foods that no self respecting Czech would eat from the tourist areas. Thank you Tomáš for making our visit to Prague first class! And thank you for recommending restaurants and pubs for the rest of our stay!!!!
We really enjoyed our tour with Tomas. He is full of knowledge about the city. We enjoyed some incredible food, and a stop at a gin distillery along the way. He also managed to ensure our teenagers also had a great time. We would highly recommend this tour.
Food tour was very friendly and showed us all of the local spots to eat and drink! Really authentic experience and helped us to pick food we enjoyed for the rest of the trip. Would recommend- 10/10
Tomas took us on a very informative and interesting tour of Prague with many places the average tour would miss. The range of food and drinks was excellent and we all, age range between 14 - 73 enjoyed it. Definitely a guide to recommend.
Excellent walking and tasting tour! The tour was a great way to taste a variety of Czech dishes and specialties and get a feel for the culture Tomas is an excellent guide who communicates well and clearly enjoys showing Prague. I highly recommend the tour and choosing Tomas as your guide.
I had booked this tour as a surprise for my wife’s birthday. At the outset Tomáš reached out to confirm the booking, to check on allergies (if any) and any other requirements. On the day of the tour Tomáš was very punctual. Each restaurant and dish was explained in detail along with the context and significance - which made us appreciate the food all the more! Wonderful experience overall and highly recommend Tomáš!!
Tomas was a terrific guide and we thoroughly enjoyed the food tour! The food was delicious and plentiful and it was great to experience it all in local areas of Prague - away from the tourist craziness. Highly Recommend!
Wow, what a culinary adventure! Tomas, our fantastic food tour guide, treated us to a truly unforgettable experience in Prague! With his expert knowledge and passion for Czech cuisine, he took us on a private tour of the city's hidden gems and renowned restaurants. From traditional dishes to modern twists, we savoured every bite and learned so much about the local culture. Tomas's enthusiasm was contagious, and his attention to detail made the tour seamless and personalised. We felt like locals, thanks to his insider tips and warm introductions to the chefs and owners. If you want to taste the real Prague, look no further than Tomas's food tour! We can't wait to come back and indulge again. 5 stars aren't enough - we'd give him 10 stars if we could!
