Our guide, George, brought all the sites in Secrets of Secrets to life! Loved that he read passages from book while at the actual sites!

Itinerary
The tour starts at Prague Castle, where we will cross a deep moat and walk through the courtyards. But what is the history of alchemy and symbology as it was once practised within these walls? Thereafter we will pause outside the main gates ( Matthias Gate ) and enjoy a breathtaking view of the city. Remember when Robert Langdon asked, ‟What is the most common religious symbol?”
Afterwards we will return to the castle complex ( the largest ancient castle in the world, according to the Guinness Book of Records ) and admire St. Vitus Cathedral. You will see dozens of gargoyles, monsters perched along the higher levels of the Neo-Gothic cathedral, but do you know why these creatures were placed there? Along its facade, you will see the reliefs of Christian figures, including the crucifiction. But there are four figures which are anachronistic to the others. Can you spot them? Do you know whom they represent?
We will observe the Gothic facade of Vladislav Hall ( where Catherine Solomon made her groundbreaking presentation ). But what other precipitous historical event happened at this very place? What were its ramifications?
Exiting the castle complex, we will pause at another overlook with a view of the city, from where we will descend along the beautiful NERUDOVA street, and catch a glimpse of the ALCHEMIST HOTEL as well as the AMERICAN embassy. the long and deep Old Castle Stairs, arriving at the Lesser Quarter - a metaphorical descent from the sphere of thoughts to the realm of reality.
We will gaze aloft at St. Nicholas church, the most exquisite Baroque church in Prague, where once a congregation of music lovers gathered for the performance of a tear-jerking, heart-breaking Requiem ( a funeral mass ) written by a beloved young composer who died just before he could finish it. Do you know who this composer was?
We will walk through this lush Baroque garden where we will be mesmerized by the beautiful peacocks who make it their home, and observe the eerie Dripstone Wall, which some say is the image of hell and, if one looks close enough, one might make out the faces of beasts and demons. How many will you spot? Please note that the Waldstein garden is closed during winter, in which case we will walk an alternate route via the winding cobblestone streets of the Lesser Quarter.
Walking through the lively town square of the Lesser Town, we will arrive at Charles Bridge ( where Robert Langdon first saw the woman in black, who was wearing a spiked tiara and holding a silver spear ). But what was the mystical vision behind its construction by the Holy Roman Emperor, Charles IV, and why did he move the capital to the city of Prague? NOTE: March - October the tour crosses MANESUV bridge, which allows for a beautiful vista of the CHARLES BRIDGE, from a distance.
Crossing the river, we will walk through the courtyards of the Clementinum, where we will gaze up at the tower from where famed astronomers of the XVI century observed the stars ( and wherein is the Czech National Library, where Robert Langdon went to research ). Did you know there is a legend that tells of a treasure that is buried somewhere within the Clementinum?
The tour passes outside the Dark Angels cafe, another location from the novel, where the Golem descends to its underground Gothic foundations to search for information that he needs.
Every hour, hundreds of visitors gather below this Gothic clock-tower to watch it come to life. But what is the symbolism of the moving statuettes? And what made this clockwork so cutting-edge? And what is the legend of the clock-smith who built this mechanism, who died of sorrow when he later destroyed it?
Protruding into the Old Town square, this lavish Baroque palace was the scenario where Robert Langdon and Katherine Solomon kissed for the first time. Across a narrow alley from Kinsky Palace, stands the fairy-tale evoking church of our Lady Before Tynska. Here, early in the XV century, Bohemians began to express their frustration with the Pope and the Catholic church, sowing the seeds of a disagreement that would lead to a betrayal, an execution, and a war that would ravage the land for fifteen years. But what is it that the Bohemians demanded? And what was the symbol of their demand, which can still be seen on the church’s facade to this day?
Walking into the Jewish Quarter, we will arrive at the Old New Synagogue, where it is said the remains of a man of clay, who had been brought to life with ancient spells, are buried within one of its walls, to this day. This was the Golem (after which, the mysterious villain of The Secret of Secrets named himself). Do you know how, in the legends, the rabbi who created the Golem, was able to undo what he had done, after the Golem had gone berserk?

As fans of Dan Brown’s novels, we loved nerding out with Georg on this tour! We got to be immersed in the book by standing in the places where events took place. Georg read passages from the book in many of these places. Beyond the book, Georg was a wealth of Prague historical knowledge and shared so much more than just Secrets and Sumbols. It never felt rushed or time- constrained; we got the feeling that Georg genuinely enjoys sharing his knowledge of this beautiful city with visitors.
Wonderful experience and more than I was expecting. Our guide was fabulous and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend the Secret of Secrets tour in Prague.
George was an excellent guide. His presentation on sites associated with Secrets of Secrets brought Dan Brown’s book to life! Loved that George read passages from the book at corresponding sites. He is also very knowledgeable about Prague in general
If you can only do one tour in Prague, then do this one! Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, so kind, and a lot of fun. He incorporated Dan Brown’s book in such a seamless way that makes me excited to read it on my way home. You don’t have to read the book before the tour. The tour itself covers so much history and ground (you start near the Prague castle and end near Old Town). Our guide had so many great stories about the history of Prague that will definitely stick with us. We always do Viator tours when we go on vacation, but this is by far the best one we’ve done in any country.
George provided an excellent tour! I really enjoyed hearing the passages at each site! Great tour, thank you!
George was the best, as an teacher he related the symbols from the book to the beautiful Prague historical sites and architectural details. The 3.5 hr tour went fast as George made it fun. There was a lot of walking but George found the least crowded paths that were easier on the feet. We would highly recommend this tour. BTW we are nearly 80 years old.
Our guide, George, was very knowledgeable and provided interesting details on historical sites beyond just the Dan Brown connections. I think the tour would still be excellent without reading the book (The Secret of Secrets), but it’s probably more fun if you have. George is entertaining, friendly, smart and fun. Highly recommend!
George is the best of the best! Perfect tour for Secrets & Symbols! The tour was mesmerizing! I loved hearing the relevant passages from Dan Brown’s book throughout the tour! If you are a Dan Brown fan, then this is the crème de la crème of tours!
Georg was an excellent guide and very helpful in explaining every detail of the references of the book.. Very recommended …
George is an excellent guide and clearly warms to his subject. As an earlier review said I wish that my history courses were so entertaining when I was in school. I booked this tour based on reviews of George and was not disappointed.
Georg was our wonderful guide and we were the only 2 so it was a very exclusive private tour. The Secret of Secrects tour was the highlighlight of our 4 week European holiday. Unforgettable and highly recommend.
Really enjoyed the Prague Secrets and Symbols tour! Georg was a great guide — funny, engaging, and full of fascinating stories and hidden details. It was a fun way to discover a different side of Prague. Definitely worth it!
If one wants more than the typical Prague tour, one should take this tour - a mixture of history from the 700s to modern day with symbols and stories from Dan Brown's book included, George was an excellent guide, asking and answering all questions with a sense of humor. Lots of walking, mostly downhill, you will get in your steps. Would highly recommend this tour and would even consider taking it again!
Our guide, George, did a great job of connecting the book and the history. I learned a lot on the tour and enjoyed the other travelers.
Georg was friendly, informative and had a good sense of humor. Our group size was good, 7 people. The tour has a fun twist incorporating locations and passages from the Dan Brown book. If you have read the book and would like to see some of the locations, I highly recommend.
Tour guide, George, is the best. I came to Prague BECAUSE I read Secret of Secrets! Hadn’t been here for 20+ years, and wanted to know more about the places and wonders within the novel. Our tour was on a Sunday morning - fabulous, because the bells of St Vitus’ Cathedral rang out while we were there! George is fun, funny and informative. He doesn’t only give info, but elicits answers and contributions from his learners (that’s what we were!). Wear good walking shoes! Oh, and review the book a bit before attending. Finally, our tour went over the slotted time, and we loved every extra minute. Amazing deal and experience for the money paid. Highlight: time spent at the Dripstone Wall. Thank you, George!!!
Excellent tour full of fun facts, history and references to “secret of secrets”. No way can a walking tour cover all the ground in the book, but this walk covered many of the secrets and history of Prague in an engaging and entertaining way thanks to George.
Very detailed and extremely knowledgeable! We learned so much but he was very entertaining (so it didn’t feel like school). Highly recommended if you liked the book.
Loved the tour! George was so personable to the group & knowledgeable about all of the sites that we toured. The small group size made the tour very personalized. George referred to passages in the book, Secrets of Secrets by Dan Brown, many times as we entered each location where mentioned. I highly recommend this tour in Prague!
We had an absolutely wonderful time on the Prague Secrets & Symbols Tour! George, was fantastic. Super friendly, incredibly witty, and a natural storyteller. He effortlessly brought the mystic history, hidden symbols, and lore of Prague to life while keeping our whole family engaged from start to finish. Walking through Prague Castle, St. Vitus Cathedral, across Charles Bridge, and into Old Town Square with George made the city feel truly magical. It was easily one of the highlights of our family trip. Highly recommended!
This was a fantastic tour! We had a great time, seeing Prague through the eyes of the secret of secrets. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and very kind to my daughter (she has a big Dan Brown fan). The tour is highly recommended and works for mixed groups of fans and non-fans. Kni
George is an excellent guide with charts, pictures and a copy of the Secret of Secrets marked to share pertinent passages at various sights. One thing out of his control was the record breaking heat of the day but he does have that insider familiarity to keep us in shade as much as possible. We really enjoyed learning more about the history and important events of Prague’s past, learning more about the symbols George pointed out along the way, and finding the facts and the artistic license points in the Dan Brown book.

Great walk around the city. Lots of fascinating information., whether you’re a Dan Brown fan or not. Really a great value!
Great excursion. We learned a lot of interesting information from George.
George was extremely knowledgeable about the book and was able to show me nooks and crannies from all parts of the story. He was punctual professional and very pleasant and good humored- He also knew alot about Czech history and put it all into perspective. I learned many things I had not heard before. It was a thoroughly enjoyable tour- I highly recommend it!
This walking tour was unlike any of the usual. Our guide George was a warm, knowledgeable storyteller who covered much ground— physically and historically— as we followed the path of the heroes in Dan Brown’s latest book. He keeps his groups small so a 3 plus hour tour offers much opportunity to chat, ask general questions about Prague customs, history, geography. At the end of the tour he offered suggestions on “non tourist trap” restaurants. My husband and I had a delicious and affordable lunch at one of his locals picks which we never would have found on our own. Thanks, George!
What an enjoyable, informative tour! Georg is a knowledgeable and enthusiastic story teller. We learned more than we could have ever imagined about the history of Prague, with emphasis on the sites described in "Secrets of Secrets." It was a treat to hear Georg read short passages directly from the book as we walked. We were incredibly lucky to be the only people who had signed up today so he generously offered us extra time, as well as a brief stop for treats at his favorite cafe. As an added bonus, he even played several songs on the piano! Georg's tour is sure to become our favorite memory from this European vacation.
George knew his Dan Brown, but the structure was lacking ... did not feel we were going in Langdons footsteps ... loads of additional information showed his extreme knowledge of Prague but made the store drown a bit. Also I'd have liked to have know before hand that you do not enter any of the indoor locations but just walk past them...
Took the Secret of Secrets inspired tour, the tour was a perfect mix of the book, symbols, history and storytelling. Wish history lessons in school were this informative and entertaining. In 3.5 hours, I fell in love with Prague and couldn’t wait to learn more. George was friendly, witty and full of knowledge. Would take additional tours with this guide.
This tour was our favorite experience in Prague! George is a charming, knowledgeable historian who combines the history of Prague with the mysteries of alchemy, symbolism, and numerology referenced in Dan Brown's book, The Secret of Secrets. While strolling through major locations in the Castle District, Old Town, and the Jewish Quarter, my husband and I were immersed in the magic of Prague as George read short excerpts from Secrets and focused on details such as signs, carved motifs, and visual clues. At the end of the tour, he shared a final secret...a hidden underground tavern where we enjoyed the most delicious meal of our vacation! This is a tour you do not want to miss, even if you haven't read Secret of Secrets! Please don't hesitate to book...It will exceed your expectations!
George took me and my wife alone (not expected but great) to the important parts of the book but also described the numerology and symbols of the city and its buildings. VERY knowledgeable and informative presentation. He also joined us for an enjoyable lunch at his favorite local pub. Definitely recommend this excursion.
I really must recommend this tour in the highest level. 3 hours and 33 minutes passed in a flash as George took everything about the tour to Eleven !! With visual aids and superb references to the Dan Brown book this really was an exceptional tour. But the other numerous Secrets and Symbols dotted around Prague which I hadn’t spotted on another guided tour the day before was quite an eye opener. So if you’ve got a few hours to spare I can wholeheartedly say to book this tour. And to top it all George is a really great guy. Enjoy !!!!……..I did
Georg was truly amazing in showing us every single spot featured in the book, while reading key passages in front of each place. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Prague.
We are so impressed and grateful to George, our Prague Secrets and Symbols tour guide. He has an interactive, natural communication style where everyone learns about history, architecture and culture in a fun way. George expertly weaves key passages of the Dan Brown book into his tour where the scenes you are viewing of historical land marks correlates to scenes in the book. Questions are welcomed and answered thoroughly. We give his tour 5 out of 5 stars. You will gain knowledge, understanding and will be grateful you chose George's tour. And, you will have exercised your mind and completed an excellent walk through the book and beautiful Prague. Sincerely, Charles and Alexandria Manalo.
We had a fabulous tour with George. We were a small group so George really tailored it to our interests while still staying within the subjects of the book. He is also very knowledgeable on Prague and Bohemian history. Highly recommend
Exactly what we were hoping for and a little more! Very pleasant stroll through the landmarks of the book with some history intertwined.
A perfect tour guide who covers all the hidden gems of Prague and shares its intricate history with knowledge and humor. For lovers of Dan Browns’ Secrets book, you will get the chance to walk the footsteps of Robert Langdon as tour guide George reads excerpts IRT and shares pictures of the secret symbols with their meanings. A must do tour! Highly recommended!!
Having read the latest Dan Brown book, I was eager to see the highlights in person. Our guide, George, was a knowledgeable historian, weaving facts & some of the fiction from the story into an interesting & fun experience! The pace was easy, the price very affordable & his humor welcoming. I highly recommend you read the Secret of Secrets and then book this tour! Jodi, from Virginia, USA.
A great way to start my trip exploring the secrets of Prague. George is an excellent guide and came very prepared to show you the history of Czech. Even if you don’t read the book, you will still be able to understand the story behind the architecture. He turned up despite the rain and was very gracious to take some photos for me. I very much enjoyed his tour and now I am more willing to finish reading the book with relevance references after the tour .
I’ve booked a private tour with George, as it was one of the very few in Prague that actually promises to go into more hidden parts, away from the usual touristic routes - and it really exceeded my expectations! George had a lot of knowledge on history, and the tour had very interesting locations; it was really interesting to pay attention to all the symbolism around, especially when it is interwoven with real historical events! George was very punctual and professional, and had a great sense of humor. I’ve really enjoyed my time!
Having taken one the night tours, added to Prague's mysterious and ghostly aura; however, Georg's mix of suspense, humor and solid history needs no wait for specific daytime. ...plus, if you distract yourself, you might think for a sec that Tom Hanks himself in leading your tour group!
George is an outstanding guide! Very pleasant and caring. We saw some of the major locations from the book and George read some passages to put them in reference and then provided more detail about the locations. I highly recommend the tour!
We went on the Secrets tour and it was absolutely fantastic. Our guide, George, was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging, and even my 7-year-old enjoyed all the stories. It was surreal to stand at the actual locations and see the scenes unfold in real life. A particularly lovely touch was George reading short excerpts from the book at each site, which really brought the experience to life. We also visited a charming coffee house where he even played the piano. An unforgettable experience—highly recommended. Thank you!
Georg was great! He was engaging and easy to listen to and he had a strong depth of knowledge of the history of the sights we saw. Georg also referred to the Dan Brown book for each sight we saw. We would highly recommend him
We did this tour on a chilly November morning and just had a marvelous time- not just hitting the spots from the Dan Brown book ( which was super fun as we just finished it a few weeks ago), but also learning about the history of Prague. The political and religious history that has shaped this city is fascinating, and Georg brought it all to life in a fun and engaging way. Highly recommend!
Wow, what a tour! As an absolute Robert Langdon fan I wasn't gonna miss this one and Georg sure delivered! We've been to all the highlights from the story and Georg connected the book amazingly to the history of each spot. It went so well together it was even sometimes a bit chilling. The tour was very well paced and highly entertaining. Would recommend to anyone who'd like to experience Prague through the lens of a famous author like Dan Brown. :)
What a fantastic tour. Georg is both professional and genuinely fun, and he knows the city, its landmarks and Dan Brown’s book inside out. He even read short passages from the novel right at the spots where the scenes take place. We also made a stop at a café, where he treated us to free coffee and then sat at the piano and played a few well-known songs. Brilliant experience all round.
The tour was wonderful and full of interesting details. Georg was a very professional and charming guide. He knows so much about the city, the famous sights and Dan Brown’s book. He also read short parts of the story in the exact places where the book happens, which felt very special. Georg gave us a free coffee in a café during the tour and then played some nice songs on the piano. Watching him play was honestly my favourite moment. It was a lovely tour, and Georg made it unforgettable.
