This was an excellent tour and experience. L, our guide, provided a very informative and insightful tour who was clearly passionate about the history of Prague and the Czech Republic and was very helpful in answering questions. I highly recommend this tour.

Very unique experience and perfect way to learn about the history of the country. Definitely worth it and loved that our guide Katerina had personal ties to the historic moments she was teaching us about.
Katja was a fantastic guide. Tis good
Fantastic tour. Interesting and informative
Katarina was amazing as a tour guide
Super interessante Tour! Tom bester Mann!
Tom was cool He was a Nice guy..
Both my partner and I were EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with this tour led by Stan. It was neither enjoyable nor educational. Honestly, it felt like 2.5 hours of paid torture. 1. Extremely unprofessional from the very beginning. Stan was a few minutes late. When the tour began, instead of introducing the subject, he spent time complaining about a previous group who had left negative reviews, calling the Italian reviewer stubborn and not open-minded. I found this incredibly unprofessional. Rather than reflecting on customer feedback (or simply just ignore them), he seemed more interested in dismissing criticism and defending himself. 2. Very little actual historical knowledge or explanation. The tour felt more like a prolonged personal complaint session than a historical tour. We booked it to learn about the history of communism in Prague and Czechoslovakia, e.g. how the Communist Party came to power, major historical events, and the impact on the country and its people. Instead, Stan repeatedly told us how terrible communism and the Communist Party were, but rarely explained WHY in any meaningful historical context, for example, what specific events, policies and actions made it so bad, what actually happened to ordinary people etc. These were exactly the things we wanted to understand and learn, but he barely addressed them. Simply repeating that something was terrible without explaining the historical reasons behind it is not education. 3. Even the nuclear bunker visit offered very little educational value. Inside the underground nuclear bunker, where we expected to learn about its historical significance and role during the communist era, we instead spent much of the time sitting and listening to Stan's personal monologue. One example is he spent an excessive amount of time making jokes about how big Stalin's head was, rather than providing meaningful historical explanations. This was yet another example of how the tour prioritised his personal commentary over actual historical knowledge. 4. Personal political opinions took priority over the actual tour. I have no problem with a guide sharing personal experiences or political opinions. However, they should complement historical information, not replace it. Stan repeatedly invoked "freedom of speech" to justify his approach. Freedom of speech does not mean paying customers should have to spend 2.5 hours listening to irrelevant personal rants instead of receiving the educational experience they paid for. 5. A considerable amount of time was wasted on completely irrelevant topics. Stan also spent a noticeable amount of time discussing contemporary US politics, the country's decline, and making unrelated complaints about modern society. What on earth did any of this have to do with the history of communism in Prague? It was simply more time taken away from the subject we had actually paid to learn about. Overall, extremely unprofessional and absolutely not worth the money. Stan's approach was disrespectful of the group's time and money. A paid historical tour is not a personal platform for a guide to vent his frustrations. Both my partner and I had a thoroughly unpleasant experience. We would absolutely NOT recommend this tour. Even if it were free, we would not spend another 2.5 hours listening to Stan.
Unfortunately, this tour was a disappointing experience. It went on far longer than necessary, and much of the commentary felt more like a personal rant than an informative or engaging tour. The guide frequently went off on tangents about his own life experiences, sometimes trailing off and mumbling through seemingly unrelated thoughts, making it difficult to follow or take anything meaningful away from the experience. There was also very little opportunity to ask questions, and the guide didn’t seem particularly interested in engaging with the group. To make matters worse, on the tram journey back, he wasn’t even close to the group, and we ended up losing him altogether. The guide shared some very personal and difficult details about his upbringing, including being beaten at school and having an alcoholic father. It was clear he has been through a lot, and I genuinely hope he has access to the support and therapy he needs. However, a tour should be focused on the guests, with clear, relevant information and professional guidance. Sadly, this experience felt disorganised, unnecessarily long and uncomfortable at times. I hope the company takes this feedback on board, as the tour could be so much better with a more focused, engaging and professional approach.
Such an informative tour, learning about the difficult and dangerous life for the people of Czechia under Communism. Our guide had lived through this and spoke with such passion about the history for his people. The Velvet Revolution and the crack downs on those protests were shocking. Also enjoyed the opportunity to visit the Underground bunker and discover how difficult life would have been down there. I fully recommend this trip. I had my 18 and 15 year old Sons with me so they got to find out about a time that school doesn't teach them.
Our guide, Katarina, wa excellent! Lots of information, a good pace, and she managed to keep track of all of us (a large group). We were very impressed with her, and learned lots of history. Be advised, going into the tunnel involves lots of stairs, and is very dark in places. Overall, a very good experience.
Very genial and knowledgeable tour guide who made the experience really enjoyable. Interesting to see the bunkers but don’t expect to see a lot
Very passionate tour guide. We got a glimpse of what it was like for the people at the time. How communism and the propaganda were developed by the leaders. The bunker was very interesting with the ideology of that era.
Guide was great. Lived and spoke through personal experience as well as facts. Interesting to see actual communist Cold War nuclear bunker
The customer service is excellent. We arrived a bit late and the people who verified the tickets personally escorted us to the group. The guide was a lot or fun, my friend and I were entertained a lot by his anecdotes, jokes and lessons. The experience felt human and informative.
Top visit recommended for all ages
Very interesting tour of the bunker. Our favorite part was the history and personal story. Our guide was good. A little heavy on opinion rather than fact but it made it more personal. Great historical significance.
I took the Prague Nuclear Bunker Tour on October 26th at 2:45pm, and it was outstanding. The experience was incredibly informative and surprisingly engaging from start to finish. What really set it apart was how our guide connected the historical facts to his own real-life experiences growing up under communist occupation. Hearing firsthand how the party used mass media, education, and even children to push its agenda added a level of authenticity you simply can’t get from textbooks. Some of his accounts may sound unbelievable to casual visitors, but anyone with a passion for history will immediately recognize the truth in what he shared. It was a powerful blend of storytelling and education — two thumbs up from me
Fantastic and enlightening tour. Especially interesting since Stan the Travel Guide lived through the Cold War in Czechoslovakia. He was knowledgeable and provided a wealth of information on what the country went through and what it was like to live in a communist regime. The tour of the nuclear bunker was memorable. Holding a Soviet weapon and seeing actual equipment like gas masks and protective suits made it real. Stan provided details, insight and excellent answers to any questions the group had. This was one of my favorite tours and it’s so important we understand this dark and cold chapter of Czech history.
This tour exceeded our expectations. Our guide Charles was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The bunker tour was great and we all learned a lot about the recent history of communist Prague.
Very interesting tour, made even more poignant by having guide who has lived in Prague before and after the fall of communism. Thanks, Suzannah!
Really informative and a really enthusiastic guide - well worth doing. The tour is part walking in the centre and part in the bunker out of town.
Tom did a great job!! Explained everything very well.
Guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and had first hand knowledge of living under communist rule. The tour covered lots of interesting and important topics around Czechia’s history. My only thoughts for improving would be to have ear pieces because at times the street noises made it hard to hear even though our group was small. Our guide was engaging and always open to our questions
We went on this Tour aus part of our praque school trip and it was probably the best experience out of the whole trip, the guide Tom/Thomas was really funny and actually taught us some really cool things. :)
The small group tour moved along quickly I would recommend it not for people who have mobility issues because of the tram and stairs and quick walking. There was a little too much commentary about today's political climate and would have appreciated just sticking to historical.
Stan was a brilliant tour guide with endless information he knew his history. It is a must do tour while in Prague.
I was there with my friends and we loved it! The guides are easily understood and give enough time to see everything for yourself as well as listen to them explaining history and details about equipment and atmosphere. Souvenirs are also very cool.
Carlo told us information about the Communist period in Prague, he was knowledgeable, humorous and could answer any question. Visiting the Bunker was amazing and we recommend this tour to anybody.
Katrina was a fastastic guide! She brought everything to life.
I thought it was a really good tour. L really brought it to life and that it was in our lifetime with his tales of what they were taught at school. Makes a pleasant change to have recent history over tales of old kings and them being overthrown. I did 4 waking tours whilst in Prague and this was my favourite one.
A great tour. A proper history lesson of the soviet era. Some great tings to see & a couple of tram rides as well. Our guide was full of knowledge & fun & engaging
This is extremely informative tour of Czechia dark period under Communism. Our guide Katarina was very knowledgeable. The tour of the bunker was fascinating. A must do on trip if you are interested in history. We really enjoyed it! Thank you!
We enjoyed an interesting Tour That talked about life under communism and visited when a bunker. We were very interested in the changes that have taken place since the velvet revolution.
Me and my partner had a fantastic time on this tour. Making was incredibly helpful and was clearly very passionate about everything they were sharing with us - they were also very happy to answer questions and even had a joke with us which we really enjoyed. The experience was great value for money and I'd recommend it to anyone that is visiting Prague for a few days.
Had an incredible experience, Maki was an incredible tour guide!!!
Really enjoyed our trip - Maki was a great tour guide and provided lots of information!
Excellent!!! So knowledgeable and fun. Very glad I joined.
Love the tour with Maki. Very worthwhile!
The tour was amazing, highly rate Maki for her tour, it was very fun and informative
Very informative, especially for history buffs looking for a detailed overview of the communist era. Our guide, Maki, was easy to understand, enthusiastic, and extremely knowledgeable. The tour itinerary placed too much on emphasis on the weapons of war, and the tour length was a bit too long, but otherwise it was well worth it.
Maka was an excellent tour guide and passionate about the topic
Very interesting tour - Maki was so knowledgeable and we enjoyed hearing all about the recent history of Prague and seeing the nuclear bunker
Very educational. Other countries who have not experienced communism should take the time to learn more about it. Being able to hear from someone who experienced it brings validity to the tour.
Well organised tour, Katarina was a great enthusiast guide and we saw many historical artifacts.
Maki was super nice and make the tour super fun
L was an experienced and informative guide. He had lived through the communist era and his insight was evocative and passionate. Very cool guy and the tour felt totally immersive. We wanted to have a totally historic Czech experience and this was certainly emotional and captivating.
A very enlightening view into very modern European history. L our tour guide was very passionate and knowledgeable. On the walking part of the tour I did struggle to hear due to background noise. Once inside the bunker no problems. I am almost 60 and was totally shocked at what went on under communist Czech such a short time ago! Agree with L, why do we teach our children about ancient history and not recent local history??
A great tour for learning about Czechoslovakia’s (as was) communist regime. So much to learn & L was an excellent tour guide. He brought passion and facts as well as lived experience. There was so much we didn’t know and it gave us a far more in depth and layered understanding of the history. The bunker was unsettling, especially going through the main door which was over two feet deep. L put the artifacts into perspective with facts and his own stories. The tour was far more than I’d anticipated, thank you.
Guide was great, very informative. There were too many people booked on tour (which Viator promises small group); guide handled large group well. The bunker was a bit claustrophobic.
