Itinerary
Did you know that Czechs pour their favourite Pilsner Urquell beer in three different styles? They are called Hladinka, Šnyt and Mlíko, and even though they are made of exactly the same beer, they taste completely different. The secret is in the foam! Embark on a 60-minute journey and change the way you see beer - forever. During the exclusive Tapster Academy, a beer-pouring class held in one of our stunning private bars, our professional tapsters will teach you the secrets of how to pour a perfect beer.
You will understand the importance of ingredients, beer storage, pouring methods, cleanliness, and much more. During the class, you will learn to pour all three Pilsner Urquell pours, but most importantly, you will be able to distinguish a great beer from a bad one and recognize the most common mistakes when it comes to beer pouring. At the end of the Tapster Academy, you will receive a certificate of completion, and also a nicely packed Pilsner Urquell bottle with your name - because you deserved it! :) We only serve alcoholic drinks for travelers 18years old and above. Minor travelers below 18 years old will be served non-alcoholic drinks.

Fantastic experience. Hanza was a fantastic instructor and the co-students all enjoyed his knowledge and enthusiasm. Highly recommended!
Great class full of information, history and fun. In a small group, the class was all in English and great experience. The host was fun, engaging and made the inter-active class fun for everyone. A must do when jn Prague.
This was a great experience. We had Louie, who was fantastic, as our guide. He was funny, made everyone feel welcome and part of a great experience! We were never without a drink through out our experience and would definitely recommend it! The experience was made even better by Louie and we all came out having spent the hour laughing, learning and sampling the beer!
Great journey for helping me know more about the history of beer and Pilsner.
I initially booked in for just the Tapster Academy, but later went back and did the tour too. The Tapster Academy was brilliant. Toby was our teacher and he really knew about everything that goes into a perfect Pilsner Urquell, even showing us how the taps work and telling us how to spot a badly poured beer. The best part? Every beer you pour, whether outlets correctly or not, you can still drink. The tour was also very good, with another beer tasting included. The exhibit is more of an experience than a museum, taking you through every process involved in making Pilsner Urquell. Strangely, Pilsner Urquell is such a low ABV that even after all the beer I practically felt sober. If you like beer, this is the place to be in Prague.
The Original Tour was cheesy but fun and lighthearted. If you really like beer and want something interactive, the Original Tour is worth the money. Additionally, we did the Tapster Academy which is only worth the expensive price if A) you are really really into beer and can/want to drink 4-5 of the same type of beer in an hour or B) with a large group. We were the only 2 people in it which felt awkward and although we like beer, to us this additional experience was not worth us spending $140 USD in total.
Incredible beer and very tasty - Lovely day out with my Dad must visit in Prague
It was a great experience. Our instructor Jason was the man. Definitely should try it if your in Prague
Amazing experience. Had the funnest time learning all about Pilsner with our guide, Jason. He kept it so fun and got a lot of Pilsner to try and pour ourselves. 10/10 would recommend!
Awesome experience, our pouring guide JC was the best highly recommend
Fantastic time at the beer tour, great hosts. Filip was great!
Absolutely class experience - really interesting and great opportunity to try the various pours of Urquel! Highly recommend!
Fantastic, fun hands on experience that really increases knowledge about Pilsner Urquell.
Pilsner Urquell: The Original Beer Experience offers a truly authentic deep dive into Czech beer culture cost Kč1,049.00 i.e 44 Euro approx. The one-hour Tapster Academy gourmet tour is well paced, informative, and thoughtfully presented. Our guide, Tap Master Roman Lotter, was outstanding — extremely knowledgeable, confident, and spoke excellent English, which made the experience smooth and engaging. He explained the history, pouring techniques, and philosophy behind Pilsner Urquell with real passion and respect for tradition. The beer tasting was generous and properly demonstrated, showing why technique matters as much as the beer itself. This experience feels genuine, educational, and professionally run — not touristy at all. A must for anyone who truly appreciates beer.
Fila was great during the tour.really fun time I’ll be back for sure he was very informative about the beer.its made me appreciate the Prague beer much more
Located in the heart of Prague, Pilsner Urquell: The Original Beer Experience is a premier destination that celebrates the world’s first golden lager. This immersive attraction takes visitors on a sensory journey through the history of Pilsner Urquell, the legendary brew that revolutionized the beer industry in 1842. You can explore the secrets of its unique brewing process, which relies on high-quality Czech ingredients and the traditional open-vat fermentation method. The highlight of the tour is undoubtedly the tasting session, where guests can savor the crisp, perfectly balanced bitterness of a fresh Pilsner poured by expert tapsters. The experience also emphasizes the art of the pour, showcasing distinct Czech styles like *Hladinka* and *Mlíko* that enhance the beer's rich foam and flavor. With its blend of high-tech storytelling and authentic tradition, the center offers a profound appreciation for the "golden standard" of lagers. It is a must-visit landmark for anyone looking to understand why Pilsner remains the foundation for 70% of all beers brewed today.
Amazing experience, amazing host. Beautiful interactive museum, you learn a lot of beer if you are a beer lover. Also about Chezch culture
We were just 3 people in the course so it felt like a vip experience. The bar woman was great and really went in to details, we learned all the pouring techniques with a czech tap and how to pour the different styles of beer. All in all we also drank about 7 beers by the end of the course. At the end the certificate is nice and a bottle of beer with your name on it is great
What a fabulous tour, they made it really interesting and funny when going through the process of making the beer which you do on your own with audio and then you get a tasting with a guy with more facts. At the end you get 2 free beers! An excellent tour.
We did the Guinness beer pouring experience in Dublin in 2024 and saw this tour and thought we would give it a try. My husband and I were the only two people for the Thursday noon tapster class. Maïsa (I think that is how you spell her name - I don’t speak Czech) was a trainer. For someone who started doing this job in June of 2025, she was super knowledgeable and chill about the whole experience. She wasn’t intense - she was relaxed but yet serious about the craft of pouring. We learned of the different pours to Pilsner Urquell. Since it was just the two of us, we got to learn and pour all three pours again and again to perfect our craft. Of course, we got to drink our own fruits of labor. The location of the experience is super close to our hotel, W Prague. The course is an hour. It was fun and something different than the usual history tour. P.S. Šnyt was my favorite kind of pour - you will have to try this experience to find out what it means, what it looks like, and what it tastes like. lol
We started with the tour and finished with the tapster pouring course. What a fantastic experience. The story of the origin of Pilsner Urquell was very well told. We proceeded to the tapster academy to learn to pour the perfect beers. Masha was excellent and we had a great amount of fun learnin, pouring and drinking the perfect Ŝnyt, Mlíko and Hldinka!
Great experience with knowlegable guide and a couple of beers at the end of the tour. Thirsty work looking at beer brewing. 👍👍🍺🍺
Cracking tour topped off with a pint of the finest beer that you see en route. Was sceptical to start but so good. Happy days 🍻
Brilliant way to spend a couple of hours. Fun and interesting. Bar at the end was brilliant, beer was fantastic. I would go back.
My husband and I took the tour and participated in the tapestry academy. And both were fantastic experiences! The tour isn’t too long while still being informative and it’s interactive the whole way, the technology is impressive! The academy was worth the additional cost, learning to pour and how it makes Czech beer unique was so cool! Overall this was a perfect way to spend our afternoon in Prague. We would love to come back with a group of friends too! It’s a perfect place for that!
Was great , would recommend as something to do when here , was interesting to find out why the beer is three fingers high with foam!
Its actually not cool branding this as original Pilsner Urquell Tour, which is not in Pilsen. The Landing Page is really misleading, that's why we missed the tour, because of going to Pilsen instead of Prague. I really do not get the point. I would also not book an Ottakringer Brewery tour and then have to go to Graz for it,,,,,
Great place to visit if you appreciate a good beer. Also a great bar upstairs for chilling after which isn’t too busy! Would recommend
Very good happy with the experience. The beer tasted great as well! If you’re in Prague and are thinking of what to do add this to your list!
Great surprise gift for my family visit, informative staff, awesome beer. Would recommend it to anyone wanting a great beer experience in Prague.
This place was amazing, you can wet 2 amazing beer with the ticket, and has an beautiful story, with finally a drink beer moment, that taste so well, even they has footballing for free
Amazing interesting tour, with friendly staff and great beer ! The audio tour is very interactive and easy to listen to. The beer is very tasty too !
Very cool experience. Lot of history about the start of beer at the beginning and a lot of fun learning to pour the beer at the end.
SO MUCH FUN! This was a great way to learn about Czech beer and particularly Urquell. Our guide was very knowledgeable and just fun to be with. It was rather amazing how pouring the Urquell affects its taste. You get lots of tastes and plenty of beer during this class. It's harder to pour the beer correctly that you would thing k- we had fun trying! HIGHLY RECOMMEND and good value when considering how much beer you get!
The tour was informative and staff were very friendly. We got to try the different types of beer pours and had a drink in the bar at the end. Would recommend
The tour was easy and it was air conditioned. With headphones to listen in your language. I enjoyed the animation of the tasting, and the woman who helped us with that. I really enjoyed the science of the beer making, and Best of all was talking with Toby at the end of our tour while we enjoyed some Pilsner Urquell!!
Absolutely amazing immersive tour ! Pact with information and unbelievable staff, cannot recommend highly enough. Scenes
This place is great. The tapster academy is a must do. The price is fair and the staff are very friendly. I highly recommend stopping by.
Excellent and informative tour. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the experience and the of course the beer tastes great!
It was a nice expepience about beers history and foundation of The checz republic Beer. Had a good time with friends. Recommend.
The experience was great, with a lot of information and interactive. You get 3 bears with the price of your ticket. We did the original tour. I definitely recommend it.
If you’re in Prague and have even a passing interest in beer, the Pilsner Original Experience is absolutely worth your time. Located near the city center, this immersive tour takes you through the history of Pilsner Urquell—the world’s first pale lager—via interactive exhibits, archival footage, and hands-on displays. You’ll get a fascinating look at Czech brewing traditions, capped off by a perfectly poured glass of unpasteurized Pilsner, served fresh from a tank. The staff are knowledgeable and passionate, and the entire experience strikes a great balance between education and enjoyment. It’s not a brewery tour, but it captures the spirit and pride of Czech beer culture in a modern and engaging way. A fun, informative, and tasty stop—especially if you want to understand why Pilsner is more than just a beer in the Czech Republic.
The experience was very interesting, the beer was good and the staff were very polite. No complaints, would come again.
The experience opened my eyes to different beers. My new favorite beer is Pilsner. Great beer great food. Tour is so well done.
Outstanding experience!!! Learning the beer history and taking the Tapster Academy with Lucie was incredible. I highly recommend this to beer and non-beer drinkers alike.
Very interesting way to learn about Czech beer, and get to experience pouring it. Our tutor, Lucie, was very knowledgeable and helped us along the way.
Learning the history and the art of boring a proper check Pilsner beer was extremely engaging and thought-provoking. Would highly recommend for anyone that’s interested in just understanding the logistics and physics behind pouring a beer.
What an experience! Really interesting and so well presented! Whilst my tapster skills are still lacking, I def know what to look for in well poured beer. A must do in Prague
Exceptional staff and a wonderful experience with visitors. I have had the pleasure to go to the Tapster academy a number of times with visiting family members and have thoroughly enjoyed my experiences there. Tomas is wonderful and has really blown me away with his hospitality. I would definitely recommend the Tapster academy for any beer lover or anyone visiting Prague that wants to learn more about good Czech beer. Well designed, well executed and a wonderful day out!
