We booked our tickets in advance and found the experience well worth the admission fee, especially as it included both entry to the Old Town Hall Tower and a guided introduction. The tour lasted around 20 minutes and was delivered in a small group, which made it easy to hear and ask questions. The guide shared interesting facts about the Astronomical Clock and the history of the tower, and seeing the hourly procession of the Twelve Apostles was a real highlight. After the introduction, we were free to explore at our own pace and enjoy the fantastic views over Prague from the top. A great value experience that combines history, stunning architecture, and beautiful city views. Highly recommended when visiting Prague.

Our tour guide, Dennis, did a good job introducing us to the area around the astronomical clock and the clock, itself. He was a nice young man, with a good sense of humor. Very pleasant experience.
Our guide who gave us the introduction was knowledgeable and made the experience all the more interesting
Be warned this did not include lift tickets. Interesting view from the tower but astronomical clock display was disappointing , all you see is a picture on a screen.
Got an overview of how the magnificant clock works. Fantastic views from the top. Highly recommend. Perfect amount of time.
Kate was our very educated and articulate guide. She gave us a literary, political and religious history of some of the major buildings in the square. She made sure to time the tour so that we ended up in front of the astrological clock 90 seconds before it rang the hour. And she completed the tour with a very thorough description of every symbolic meaning on the face of the clock.
Tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave great background information regarding the clock tower. We took the stairs as opposed to the lift up and down the clock tower as it was very manageable. Great views from the top. Well worth to do this experience if you have time in Prague.
This was a great experience as it gave us a level of detail and history we would not have otherwise had.
Excellent short introductory tour of the Astronomical clock and surrounding square. Christina was excellent. We really enjoyed her explanations coupled with quirky humour and the extra knowledge about the writings of Franz Kafka. Only negative it was not clear to me that the meeting point was not at the clock. Fun to then go up the clock tower and observe the square below.
Met the guide, walked to the clock she explained a little bit. We watched the clock do its thing and that was the end of the tour.
Really they go really into depth in the history of prague
Great views over the city and worthwhile experience. No more than 20 mins required. Easy access via lift then a few floors by ramp. Spiral staircase could be tricky for anyone with mobility issues but there is another lift on request so still possible to get out to viewing platform. We had assumed we were meeting an actual guide as instructions stated we would be met by one outside main doors with a blue & white umbrella. Waited 30 mins, went into main building and were told we had to go to a completely different office a few streets away to redeem voucher and get our actual entry tickets. So we missed our 3pm slot which was rearranged. Had to msg Tour operators to get a google maps link to find the office. Tiny & easy to miss. This all spoilt the experience a bit. We had also assumed the eguide was for the clock tower tour. Actually a short city tour which we had no use for, though others might.
The tour was good and gave a good overall into to the clock.
Excellent experience and guide. He was very humorous and very educated. We would have loved taking any tour with him. The clock experience was very in depth and just what we wanted. His English was perfect.
Highly recommend. Stunning view from the tower top to have 360 degrees view of the square. MUST DO experience in Prague
This was a fun quick tour of Old Town with a knowledgeable guide prior to entering the Astronomical Clock…which provided amazing views of the city!!
As described on the ticket the meeting place is NOT by the astronomical clock but only 2min away. The guide was clear and interesting for about half an hour then time to ourselves in the clock tower itself with no time limit. Toilets inside, small extra cost for lift in the tower but the ramp was easy/safe/warm. Views were definitely worth it.
Excellent introduction to Prague & Clock Tower as we walked to the square. Climbing the clock tower provides a great view and is certainly worth the effort. Guide was excellent.
Bad point ..you have to fine and pickup paper tickets 1st..tour guide (English) great was very informative
Incredible views of old town from the top of the tower! The climb up the tower was much easier than I expected, or you can pay a little extra to take the elevator. We went in the morning and the views of the city were beautiful. But going at night with all the Christmas market lights below would be really amazing.
It was fun seeing the over 600 years old Astronomical Clock in Prague. It's just amazing how each part of the clock was crafted and put together. And yes, I tried to figure out how the clock works but failed. ^_^. Then, I got lucky to witness the show. I watched it twice! I just wanted to see the clock
Jane was very friendly and knowledgeable. I was slightly disappointed that the tour of thr clock did not include its mechanics.
We were very happy with our clock tower tour Our guides met us at meeting point which was easy to find and then we were able to start the tour early which was great to avoid lines and walking traffic Guide was very helpful and informative So a great start to visiting Prague Views were amazing from clock tower
We appreciated the brief but informative introduction to the clock tower. It’s truly beautiful and a must when visiting Prague!
Great place with a lot of history. The guide spoke with a lot of passion giving rich detail although I was on my own. The only issue I had was that after waiting for a white and blue umbrella at the square and beginning to panic, I received a phone call and had to walk a short distance to their office - not as advertised.
It could be a strenuous climb up. You do not experience the clock works. It's mostly about the city views.
Lovely young guide. Click story impressive. Audio guide could be a little more comprehensive. Tower impressive
Great trip into the astronomical clock , stress free and really interesting , such a beautiful place to see and the views are breathtaking Highly recommend
Easy to get the tickets, short walk to the tower which make sure you at top of the hour......and great views from the top!
Little added to experience of visiting the clock tower, 3rd party not needed, did little to enhance experience
This is an absolute must to see in the centre if Prague. If you go into the tower be prepared for a lot of stairs, you have to pay extra for the elevator to the top. It gets absolutely packed around the hour but it is a sight to see.
This is a phenomenal clock that has to be seen to appreciate its beauty. It is vert intricate and ornate and you could see the mechanics behind it. In the evening, it is lit and it looks phenomenal. It is sometimes hard to believe, how they build this back in those times. A must see in Prague
Lovely enjoyable experience. Loved learning the history about the astronomical clock from the guide. The walk up the clock tower is quite steep ( there is a lift too ). But the views at the top are breathtaking. We throughly enjoyed our experience.
Basically, just climbing the tower. Which was pretty cool and great views of Prague. The audio tour was okay. We did voluntarily miss the live presentation from a guide that we could have had at the beginning of our clock tower climb, but we needed to climb earlier so had to forego the live talk before we went into tower. All in all, we would still recommend this because the views were beautiful from the top of the tower which was our main reason for purchasing these tickets.
This was the undisputed highlight of my friend and I's trip to Prague! Not only are the views breathtaking, but the staff here are incredible. The gentleman who took me and my friend (who uses an electric wheelchair) to the top went above and beyond to make our visit special. He took photos of us at every corner of the tower and pointed out some of the places we could see below. He gave us time to appreciate the views, and even took us to see the mosaic on the ground floor afterwards. The inside of the tower has two main lifts, plus a stairlift. You'll need to be able to transfer to a manual chair (they have one to hand) in order to access the top section. Thank you so much for making our visit special!
Our tour was a nice introduction to some of the history of Prague and some of the background of the astronomical clock. We were able to climb to the top of the tower which provided us a beautiful view of the Old Town.
Nice tour of the Astronomical clock, with a wonderful guide. Our guide provided lots of interesting facts on the area and the clock, along with numerous folklore stories about the clockmaker.
The views were amazing! The tour guide at the beginning did a great job explaining how the clock worked however, we did not see any of the workings of the clock. The audioguide didn't have anything to do with the clock tower but explained the history of the square.
Introduction was great. Clock was okay at the stroke of the hour, but nothing amazing to see inside. Bit disappointing really.
Prior to visiting this iconic Astronomical Clock it’s imperative that you research the significance of the Clock as it’s the only Astronomical clock working which is over 600 years old. To fully understand the workings and get the best of the experience read all about it in advance.
Went about 15 years ago. Great city, lousy hotels because we didn’t do our research. Just went on a whim during a trip to Germany. Want to go back, but will research first!
Set in the old town ornate clock. The chimes were a bit difficult to see as only the heads move on some and the Skelton pulls a rope. Lift to the top worth the money. Great views over the square and city.
The clock tower was amazing but I don’t think the tickets were worth the extra money and it certainly didn’t save us any time as we had to wait in the same line as those buying tickets. It also made it seem like there was an intro overview but all that happened is we were handed the tickets and a map and told to have fun. When we asked where to go the guy pointed at the map. We found out later that we could have skipped the line and also taken the elevator but were told nothing about that.
Would rather book the tour from astronomical clock official website. Its cheaper and much better. I did not see the point paying so much more for a self guided tour.
This is a must do when in Prague and worth skipping the line as even in winter it can be quite long. This tour had a good introductory session; but don't bother with the audio guide.
The tour operator gave the group information about the clock and square. She took us to the clock and gave instructions on how to get in. The best part of this tour is the ability to skip the line to get in and walk up the tower.
It was amazing to be in the crowd awaiting for the watch to be 6:00 pm so the watch will start to move and the windows will be open.. I recommend visiting it if you are in Prague
STOP and read what you're getting. This does not include a tour of the Astronomical Clock tower. It includes a narrated walk to the clock and an entrance ticket, which could be purchased directly for about $12. I received 2 emails with location links, one to the tower and one to the tour operator's location. We went to the tower first which was a mistake, resulting in us arriving late for the "tour". In the email directions to the tour operator location said "look for the blue and white umbrella." It is a small sign with a blue and white umbrella. We were looking for an actual umbrella. The provided ticket does not include access to the elevator to the top. The guide was very soft spoken and most of the time when he was talking his back was turned.
This one was so bad it felt like a scam. We had trouble finding the location where the tour would start as it was not very clear in the instructions. The guide, David, was incredibly rude and explained, slowly, how stupid we were. Never did get the tour we paid for. We just walked back to the clock for entry into the stairs to the top of the Astronomical Clock. If I knew how bad this would be, I would have saved myself money by purchasing the tickets for entry to the Astronomical Clock at the clock location. It's unfortunate that this was our first experience in Prague, not a great first impression.
I would not suggest this tour, the 20 minute guided walk from where you get tickets to tower could easily be skipped. Guide was friendly, but really don't remember anything he said. Beware, while there are TWO elevators, your ticket only let's you ride the first one. Additional charge for second. East to walk ramps to the top, if you don't use the second elevator. Views are beautiful from the top. Especially watching the packed crowd watching the clock's action.
