Musicians performed beautifully from apparent wide range of pieces. Soprano did a beautiful job. Her voice rang through the cathedral like a bell.

Itinerary
St Francis Church is one of the most beautiful baroque churches of Prague. You can find it at Křížovnické náměstí 3, Prague 1 Although the original baroque pews offer only 70 seats, it has long and important music tradition. This organ concert series runs continuously from 1993 to nowadays, yearly and daily from Easter to November, and it's longest uninterrupted Prague Organ concert cycle. Organ of St. Francis church is an important historic instrument built in 1702 by Master Abraham Stark from Elgbogen in Western Bohemia. Many famous musitians, as for example Amadeus Mozart or Antonin Dvorak, played this organ in the past. This rare organ is the second oldest in Prague, but oldest one you can hear at concert. In the year 2015 there was large and complicated reconstruction using the most modern technologies and methods of restoration and reparations, so this instrument is in excellent restored shape, and you can really enjoy a sound of genuine baroque organ in true baroque acoustic.

This was an outstanding experience. The music selection was superb, and performances were excellent. Highly recommended.
Make sure you know where is the performance take place, it is on the right side of church front, if you sit in the right side of the church, you can not see the organ, the organ is a bit too loud for the church this size
It was absolutely incredible! Absolutely worth the money and it was not very expensive - 19.00cz. The acoustics are like nothing you've ever heard. Money well spent. We saw the 7pm show and just bought tickets the day-of at the church while walking around. We saw Veronika the soprano singer and Jirina Maresova the organist. There was another individual on the violin as well whose name was different than what was on the program. Definitely do this. An excellent change of pace and a unique experience.
Beautiful music, beautiful venue
Extremely overrated, expensive. Very mediocre musicians. A tourist trap. Overpriced.
I am a private music teacher so I have credibility for my opinion. All 3 musicians were excellent, however the song choices were too slow for such a public audience. Unfortunately, at least 4 people fell asleep. I think 4 versions of Ave Maria was not optimal. There are way more lively pieces that may have enticed the audience. Also, the final 2 pieces were acoustically amazing. It would have been great to hear them more clearly on the vestibule the whole time. Lastly, it was very cool to hear the organ Mozart used in the day!
The church is beautiful and easy to find. Acoustics were amazing. The concert changes, but we had the organist, trumpet and a Soprano singer. The trumpeter was playing outside when we arrived “calling” people in! All classical music. While I really didn’t recognize any of the pieces, it was beautiful music to hear while taking in all the paintings and sculptures surrounding us. It lasted right at an hour. We were able to walk across the St Charles Bridge afterwards without too many people! I only give it a 4 out of 5 because most of had to sit on folding chairs.
Great experience! The church is very beautiful, and complemented with the live music gave us goosebumps. It is a small church with wonderful acoustics. Come a bit earlier to enjoy a little concert at the doors opening time.
Church only opened 15 minutes ahead of time and some seats were already reserved. We were advised to sit in the middle of the church for best acoustics.
Wonderful artists including a tenor and a soprano, both superb. The organist created a magical experience. Highly recommend.
This is a small church just by the start of Charles Bridge. Very beautiful interior, including the 2nd largest organ in Prague. Acoustics are great, and every day there are concerts around 18:00. Deserves a visit, and definitely the organ concert is something to listen to
The Concert on Mat 13 th at the St. Francis Assisi church was a great opportunity as a musician myself. I was very interested in knowing that Mozart and Dvorak played in this historical organ. The Soprano singer, Zuzana Kos Koprivova has so attractive soothing voice.
It's was very nice, great musicians and performance. Interesting program and beautiful cathedral. Much recommended.
Lovely concert in a beautiful setting
It was an amazing experience. And once you hear that organ playing Bach in this amazing church... It gets you deep! One word of advice - get there early to get a good sits! And if it is winter - make sure you have warm clothing.
This was a beautiful concert in a lovely church. The singer and musicians were a joy to listen to and the acoustics were fantastic. My only complaint was that the seats were not very comfortable but that's not a big surprise in such an old building (I was seated in a pew but there were also modern seats set up)
Lovely way to wrap up the evening after a long day of walking. The location is lovely - a beautiful, historic church adjacent to the Charles Bridge. Music was beautiful
Excellent. A must to attend. Soprano was amazing with Angel like voice. The flutist and organist were flawless in their performance
Great barocco ambiance, great choice of music, high level of players performance and really unique concert. I visited 3 similar shows in the Old Prague (incl. Sv Mikulas), this one is on the top of my ranking. Very solid!
Beautiful church and amazing concert. Lucie Laubova -soprano is very talented, looked effortlessly preforming, has amazing voice. Tenor Dusan Ruzicka , and organ Marketa Smejkalova were amazing as well. And all three of them created an incredible experience.
It was interesting experience. Organ music with two soloist. We were enjoying music. Church looks beautiful. We recommend for music lovers.
I love to hear as many organs as possible when I travel in Europe. This was a unique show with trumpet, soprano and organ. Highly recommend. Sit on the left side so you can see the performers.
Just several meters from the famous Charles bridge, this is an ideal place to combine history and music. Founded in the late 17th century according to plans of French architect Jean B.Mathey. However, the first foundation of the church was already built in 1252 as a part of the Holy Spirit Church. The dome of the church is over 40 meters high. But for us the most important part was organ, manufactured in 1701-1702 in A.Starck's workroom. Even Mozart was playing this organ! This Church is the place for organ concerts, and highly recommended to visit a concert at least once.
or a first time experience I was looking for some known symphonies as part of the program. They also had marquee composer names as part of the program. While the 3 artists where wonderful and talented, we couldn’t appreciate not relate to the program and did not enjoy it.
beautiful hour long organ concert with mezzo soprano and flute in gorgeous setting; get there 15 minutes early for best seats
It was a wonderful experience. The musicians are very talented. Give it a go whether you love classical music or want a little taster.
A most fascinating way to visit and appreciate an ancient church with a live concert to appreciate the acoustics and the grandeur of its architecture. Front row seat was offered, might have been so because the tickets were ordered online via the TripAdvisor weblink.
Very nice small concert, the church acoustics is always great. Sometimes the magic gets lost when the door is opened and the sounds from the busy street get in. Wished there was a bit more respect for the concert experience. Performers were great but some felt more engaged than others.
Beautiful music in a beautiful setting played by an organist, trumpet player, and soprano. Highly recommend this experience while in Prague.
The trumpeter and soprano soloists were great! The organist never once played the full organ with full bass; it felt like she was always holding the instrument back. The layout of the sanctuary is such that you cannot see the performers well at all, even though we were supposedly given the "best seats." The next day we attended a concert at the St. Salvator Church, which was tremendous (full organ, chamber musicians, superb soprano soloists, beautiful program)!
Marketa was a great guide in explaining the history of Prague and how Europe evolved over the years. She provided us information and listened to and answered any questions we had. We had a great lunch where we were able to talk with our fellow travelers and enjoy a beer.
Musicians were amazing. Church is magnificent. The required number of characters is frustrating. I have added the comments I wanted.
It is a beautiful place! We had an organ concert here on our last night in Prague. The staff was really kind and reserved the best seats for us (right at the very left of the church, to have a full view of the organ). It felt like a very special occasion. The church is small and very well located right next to the bridge. Also, it was not as expensive as other concerts we attended to during this trip.
Music was wonderful; pews are very uncomfortable, so recommend the folding chairs. Soprano and tenor soloists were an added attraction.
The concert was awesome! The church was lovely and the concert could have not been more enjoyable. Highly recommend.
Both the organ and flute players, accompanying the mezzosoprano , were amazing. Faultless interpretation of the whole repertorio, especially the Ave Marias.
Wonderful performance by top artists, incredible ambience in the beautiful baroque St. Francis adds to the experience. The ancient organ is amazing and along with marvelous vocalist and violin this is a concert not to be missed. Enjoyable repertoire spanning baroque and classical periods with some Dvorak thrown in.
When the organ was played loudly. I felt the soprano had a weak voice and having her sing from the balcony made it difficult to hear her. And the organist needed to play very quietly so as not to drown her out. For the last two songs, she sang at audience level with the violinist, which was far better. That is a big church to fill with music.
The atmosphere was very pleasant and the staff were very friendly and helpful they advised us on the best seats to sit in so we could see the performance. I made a mistake in our booking date and Viator were very helpful and accommodating in allowing us to change our booking at short notice.
Very good performance by all. A good variety of compositions to show the talents of the artists. Stunning church as well
The concert itself was fine. There were actually only 3 organ solos on the concert. The rest of the hour concert was organ and vocals. The vocalist were fine, but nothing spectacular, however the organist was fantastic! Take it or leave it kind of event for me.
The church was a beautiful venue for the organ concert. The trio of performers were excellent! The church was very crowded and yet the audience was very reverent.
Nice combination of chamber orchestra music, vocal classical fragments (tenor and soprano) and church organ pieces.
All musicians were superb. Compositions were perfectly selected and matched the ambience of the church.
The church was spectacular and the concert was very nice. Perfect length at about an hour. Venue was cold, but that’s expected in an old church at night in December. Dress warmly!
Panis Angelicus was fabulous. It would have been better if the violin and soloist were on the stage instead of in the balcony where we couldn't see them even though our seats were good.
The concert was wonderful! A violinist and mezzo soprano performed, as well as the organist. What a treat!
This was really cool. 100% recommend if this is your first time in Prague. The performers are really talented and the venue is a very unique experience that you likely won’t find other places.
Building was gorgeous. Musicians (3, sproano, organist and violin) were playing in the veranda, so you couldn't see them, only hear them. Only after 30 minutes the soprano came down with the violinist. It started with Tocata and Fuge...and unfortunately not a very good rendition. It was alright, given the price point...you get what you pay for type deal. It was ok, but wouldn't repeat the experience.
