We thought this roughly 3 hour tour was a great value for the money. We were easily able to find the meeting point. Our tour guide for the old town and astronomical clock portion of the tour, John, was amazing. He was funny, he was knowledgeable, he was genuinely easy to listen to for the first two hours of our tour. I learned interesting things that I never would have learned without booking a tour with him. We had a different tour guide for the underground portion. Her name was Elizabeth, and she was lovely as well. But honestly, the old town and the clock were the highlights for me.

Itinerary
MEETING POINT: Mostecka 53/4 - West side ON THIS TOUR: Explore Prague’s charming UNESCO area including its 12th century hidden underground and learn more about the city’s major historical events, important figures, and life in dark medieval times. First 2 hours, we explore the streets of Old Town with our expert guide, then you get inside the Old Town Hall complex with its halls and underground with the object’s special guide. This part takes around 50 minutes. Charles Bridge: a medieval stone arch bridge that crosses the Vltava river in Prague, Czech Republic. Its construction started in 1357 under the auspices of King Charles IV, and finished in the early 15th century.
Old Town is a labyrinth of little cobbled streets, passages and hidden courtyards - on our one of a kind route, get to see both main sights and off the beaten path!
We tell you more about legendary reformer priest Jan Hus and the relationship between modern Czech Republic and religion.
Prague’s old Jewish Quarter - We discuss the uneasy past of local jewish community and the holocaust, but also "Golem of Prague" legend and more!
Europe's oldest active synagogue in the heart of Prague’s old jewish district.
Maisel Synagogue is one of the historical monuments of the former Prague Jewish quarter. It was built at the end of the 16th century which is considered to be the golden age of the ghetto. Since then its appearance has changed several times, its actual style is neo-gothic.
The Old Jewish Cemetery is a Jewish cemetery in Prague, Czech Republic, which is one of the largest of its kind in Europe and one of the most important Jewish historical monuments in Prague. It served its purpose from the first half of the 15th century until 1786.
After we criss cross the hidden streets, we get to Prague’s main historical square (Old Town Square), where we spend some time and give you a solid overview.
The Old Town Hall was established in 1338 as the seat of the Old Town administration. The oldest part of the complex consists of the southern wing a beautiful Gothic tower with a bay chapel and a unique astronomical clock – known as the Orloj – where, every hour between 9 am and 11 pm, the twelve apostles appear. The Gothic Revival eastern wing of the Town Hall was destroyed during the Prague Uprising on May 8, 1945 and was never rebuilt. The visitor route includes the chapel, historical halls, the underground areas and the tower.

John was knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend!
Very interesting tour which tells you about different things you wouldn’t normally know. Michal was an excellent tour guide and greeted everyone personally and was very funny & informative. I liked that he took us off the tourist routes at times so that we can explore like locals. He also kept the kids engaged the entire time. It was a small group (10 people) and we enjoyed it.
Johana was knowledgeable, articulate, and gave us a wonderful first tour of the Old City, the Charles Bridge, and the Astronomical Clock. She was also fun and told us great anecdotes. Highly recommended!
It was very good. The guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. It was rainy and icky but still fun!
Dave was so informative and passionate about Prague's history . We really enjoyed learning about Charles bridge and the astrological clock
Radovan was very knowledgeable and made the tour enjoyable. Lots of random facts which I like. Makes it more interesting than just the historic stuff.
Thank you Michael for a wonderful and very informative tour! What we leant from this tour we then noticed around the city which we would have otherwise missed! Thank you ! We did not go in the underground part of the tour due to my claustrophobia but that did not lessen our experience! Thank you Michael 5 stars well deserved!
We loved our guide and his stories. I think it depends a lot on who you get! Got to see most of the city on this walking tour. Then entered the clock building which is the old city hall. If you are hoping to truly see the workings of the clock - this is not for you, but if you just want to see what's on the other side - it's very cool
Helpful to understand city of Prague today after so many centuries of being ruled by different dynasties
This tour is an excellent way to explore old town. The pace is slow and easy to keep up with. The guide switches at old town hall with the clock. The underground portion is very interesting and definitely worth it. At the end, you can climb to the top of the tower for the 360 degree view of Prague - definitely worth the time!
Sebastian is the best! So knowledgeable and fun! Highly recommend.
Adam was a wonderful tour guide, full of great historical information presented in an entertaining way.
Adam did a spectacular job on the tour. He was just full of great information and insights. He walked slowly enough that we could all keep up while taking in the sights. A amazing tour!
Our guide, Dave, was great. We made many stops along the walk to explain what was signifant at that location. He was very conciencious at keeping track of our group despite the crowds. He also took us through areas that avoided some of the crowds which was really nice.
Sebastian was brilliant. So informative and used some real life examples in front of us to relate to the history. Loved his sarcastic humour. The last part towards the clock was a bit rushed. But the walk inside the clock was brilliant. I recommend that after the entire tour, wait outside to the next hour to see the clock chime. I missed this.
The tour was great, Joseph was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. There were certainly some hidden gems and the coffee stop was very good also.
This was an informative tour. Lucas did an excellent job sharing the history of Prague. This is tour is a great way to start a stay in Prague.
Great value for money. Our guide Matyas was taking care of everyone. I was inspired that he was describing facts for a local point of view.
Wonderfull expérience The Guide Ondra is very pationnate about The historical very good info. Bring us to very local restaurant…. Fun Small group. I will recommande The Best Thank you again. Merci beaucoup 🤩
Was great. Vitekto was a great guide weaving in some of his and families experience of Prague and Czech history. Highly recommend
It was a fabulous time. Seb was so informative, lively and energetic and so very informative. We did many tours while in profuse - many had the astronomical clock- but Seb gave a fabulous and thorough explanation
We had a great experience with Josef 10, around old town, Jewish quarters etc, we loved the city and the explenations!! When we went to the underground part we were exhausted, we had a good time but it was a little too much for us!!
Dave was a great guide - very informative and I couldn’t stump him with any question.
Sebastian from Prague-way was so great! He mentioned this company has a different approach; very small groups where it feels like a close friend is taking you to his favourite spots. So true! It was much easier to move with a small group, and he had us laughing within a few minutes. He pointed out the neat little details a lot of the larger groups weren't able to see. He also warned us away from some popular tourist traps, and let us know about local events happening only this week. The Underground tour was with a different company and not Sebastian. Very big group, not as enjoyable, but my husband found it fascinating.
We booked this tour without the underground because we had an early dinner reservation. Charles bridge and Old Town were incredible. Don’t miss them when you come to Prague. But also, don’t do it without an excellent guide like we had with Lucie. She was very knowledgeable and engaging, keeping us interested the entire time, perfectly balancing warmth and professionalism. We would highly recommend Pragueway to anyone. Michael was informative, funny, quirky (in a good way). He gave a lot of interesting details, we learned a lot of history of the area and old town. He was knowledgeable, friendly and encouraged questions. The tour was well worth it!
The best tour i have ever take. This is because of Michal, the guide, he was awesome, handling people, showing knowledge, answering questions with kindness, politeness and good humor. He is very intelligent. Then, the city is beautiful by itself, but you really feel that every corner has a history behind and this tour shows it very well.
Adam took us around over the bridge and into the old Town, past the touristy spots and off the beaten path. All the while he told us passionately about the history, he seemed very knowledgable, genuine and spoke fluent English. We were lucky to have him!
Did this tour and it was such a great tour. Vitek was so knowledgeable and gave so much information about the city and the history.
We did the Old Town tour with Michal. He was a great guide, very personable and approachable. We loved hearing the stories and walking around places outside the Square. Michal was great at answering questions and definitely knows his history! I would have liked to have spent more time in the Jewish Quarter and learned about the history there, but there’s a lot in this tour since you start on the other side of the Charles Bridge. Note that there are 2 versions to this tour. You can do it combined with the Underground tour or on its own. We did the combo and wished we hadn’t. Michal brought the group of us going Underground to the Old Town Hall, and waited until we were passed off to the correct people who lead that tour. However, then he was going back to finish the Old Town tour with the rest. I’d recommend doing the two hour tour, and booking the Underground tour directly.
Anel is the best guide, super friendly and so patient and professional while explaining stuff.
Michal was fantastic! Expert knowledge, friendly, funny; felt like walking around with a local friend. Highly recommend!
Absolutely outstanding tour by Michael. Such a great way to experience Prague’s most beautiful area.
This is a very informative tour. Our tour guide Michal, is amazing. Very informative, knowledgeable, fun, and easy to understand. I would recommend this tour especially with Michal.
Michal was an amazing tour guide! He was very informative, friendly, and funny. I highly recommend this tour and especially Michal. The absolute best tour guide I’ve had in Prague.
This was by far one of the best guided city tours I have experienced. Our guide, Eva, was knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the city. She was patient, encouraged questions and knew the answers. She stayed with us beyond our aloted time, offered to take our pictures, and gave us suggestions for shopping and restaurants. She genuinely seemed to want to be there and share her knowledge. We met up by the gate to Prague Castle and the timing was right for the changing of the guard and toured St. Vitus cathedral when it was less crowded. The demeanor and knowledge of your guide can make or break a tour, and ours was engaging, helpful and knowledgeable.
A well run tour. Matyas was well versed with information and stories, He was happy to answer any of our questions and connected with all the tourists in the group. Our guide for the underground section was also very good. She was clear and shared heaps of history while managing a rather large group.
Matyas was very informative and mingled with the group. No question went unanswered. Extremely friendly. Thank you.
Jakub and his team were awesome and did a great job entertaining our group of 20 people. They showed us the town, we drank some beer and learned about Prague's history for 3 hours. Josef 10 was fun and made sure he answered all our questions. The organization for this corporate event was easy, professional and the communication was great. I highly recommend PragueWay Tours for your private and corporate entertainment.
Jacob our guide showed us a side of the city we would not otherwise discovered. We learned about both historical side & recent events.
In this tour we saw many splendid, unique things which are world renowned (clock, town hall etc), and some lesser known things which are also important (lucky statues and associated pranks!). Our guides, Radovan and Anna, were friendly and patient and answered all our questions while informing us of the historical settings. They also shared some local interpretations and legends which were much appreciated.
I am not fond of exploring countries .. but this time I decided to explore Prague since I heard lot many things about the city and its architecture. I was checking on Getyourguide and it help me to find right one for me, which was 3 hrs tour for old town, Astronomical clock with underground city. I reach the location without any hassle and waiting at meeting location. I met Elisabeth our guide there, she explained each bit of the tour and also about Czech culture, history and current lifestyle. She was great with knowledge and experience, happy to be on this tour. Then for last 1 hr Elan took us through Astronomical clock and underground city. This city has a lot to explore and I would like to come back with my family and friends to explore the city again. Thanks Elisabeth.
Elizabeth our guide was super friendly and shair lots of information about the city. Great experience 👍🏾. Highly recommend
Highly recommend booking a tour, especially if you get a chance to have Elisabeth as your guide! She told us about the history of Prague but also shared good information on tourist traps and where to go instead, which is always appreciated, and what it’s like living in Czech Republic in general. It really felt like being on a walk with a friend, so velmi vám děkuji Elisabeth! The town hall tour was very interesting, but please take into consideration that the underground tunnels may not be suitable for everyone unfortunately. The rooms get smaller the deeper you go (thankfully our guide mentioned they may cause claustrophobia, although they never get so small you’d have to squeeze through anything), and the stairs in some areas are tricky to walk up. Otherwise I really enjoyed walking through history and getting to see the astronomical clock show right as the tour finished. Unfortunately I forgot our tour guide’s name, but a big thank you to her! And please remember to go up to the tower after the tour before walking out the gate, as you can only scan the ticket once!
Took the old town/Charles bridge/Jewish quarter walk with Josef and he did an awesome job. Very knowledgeable and friendly, we learned a lot
Pick Adam as a tour guide, he is energetic enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. Adam practically brought life to the exhibits that we have seen
My mum and I had a great time on our tour. Our tour guide, Seb, was a fun and informative guide and encouraged the group to ask questions. I feel we had a comprehensive tour of Charles Bridge, Old Town and the Astronomical Clock. We really enjoyed the Town Hall and Underground option too. I would thoroughly recommend booking this. I feel it was good value for money.
We learned a lot about the long history of not only Prague, but of the country itself. I would recommend it.
I found this tour to be a total rip off from start to finish. I was under the impression that I was going on mostly an underground tour with a stop by the Astrological clock. I don’t like to write negative reviews but I think people are afraid to write them because the tour guides are nice. That said it was mostly an old town tour. I had already had that tour so I left for the first two hours and met th tour guide again at 7pm at the astrological clock. I was told that the tour would then become the underground tour, which is really what I wanted to see. I imagined caverns that ran beneath the city used in medieval times. The truth was that we went behind the astrological clock and then crossed to the adjoining/adjacent building, which housed the MAYORS home or office. There they showed me a bunch of things I didn’t care to see with a different tour guide who talked to all the adult adults like we were five year olds. In about 730 I didn’t want to be rude, but I thought I was on the wrong tour and I leaned over and asked the guy next to me If this was the underground tour. His reply was “that’s what I thought . “ The only underground tour was 15 minutes and it was not the medieval cavern anyone expected - it was the cellar beneath the Mayor’s dressed up to be a medieval cavern. . Completely misleading tour description — 15 minutes in a fake underground cavern, with a guide that talked to a bunch of adults like they were five-year-olds. I rushed through the “caverns” because I was desperate to get out and away and he done with this ridiculous tour. I imagine because the guides are nice, people don’t want to write negative reviews, but this tour was blatant misrepresentation and everyone in my group felt the same
