Our guide, Andre, was friendly and informative with knowledge about the history of the region and places we visited. The Sedlec Ossuary is interesting and the church/cathedral are okay too but if you are pressed for time I would recommend giving this a pass for sightseeing in other areas around Prague.

I was really looking forward to this tour but as a whole the tour was a let down. First, we were told we would be picked up an hour earlier than planned, which i thought was great, assuming we would have more time in the churches, ossuary and Kutna Hora. Instead, we were picked up an hour earlier to spend time driving around Prague in a van picking up other travelers PRIOR to being dropped off at the bus that took us to our destination. The bus ride was fine, but there was no tour guide to provide us with an overview of the itinerary or facts about the city or any of the sights. Zero information. When we got off the bus a male started speaking to us as a group. Then I realized-he was the guide on the bus with us the whole ride and didn't provide us with any information. The guide spoke with a low voice, was barely audible and had almost zero knowledge about the churches and town. We just followed him around while he spoke to whomever happened to be next to him. I learned absolutely nothing and bone church itself was fast paced and we zipped from entrance to exit but my family stayed behind because I could tell this was going to be the tone for the rest of the trip. I ended up googling the churches and town while walking. If you are good with doing your own research and only need a ride there, this may be for you, otherwise, just take a train and do the tour at your own pace. The bus returns to drop you off in Prague at a central location, make sure you have a plan to get back to your lodging. Not recommended.
Amazing tour. Kutna Hora is really beautiful, the cathedrals are unexpectedly rich, and the "bone cathedral" in Sedlec is unique. The tour was well organised and our guide, Anna, was very nice and knowledgeable. Really recommended.
Great trip! We were picked up at our hotel at 12:15 and got into Kutna Hora around 1:30. We went into three different cathedrals, including the Sedlec Ossuary. We were given an hour of free time around 4pm to get food or walk around the town square. We ate at a pizza place that was delicious! We arrived back to Prague at 6:30pm. They will drop you off at a centralized meeting point. Other people in our group were a little surprised, but it’s clearly stated in the “meeting/drop off” section on TripAdvisor. I suppose most people just don’t pay attention. Our guide was personable and knowledgeable. His English was fine. My only note is that he spoke very fast; and with his accent it was hard to understand everything he was saying. Overall, great time!
We just returned from our tour to Kunta Hory. Our tour was a small group the sights were a little far apart from each other but we were transported from one to the other which was easier .Our driver Martin and guide Veronica were fantastic, pleasant and knowledgeable. The Ossarary was interesting, Veronica’s explanation of its history was interesting. The Cathedral of St. Barbara was special and again our guide was very informative. I would recommend this tour company .
Started off ok with pick up from hotel on time, transferred to another larger bus which had no proper air conditioning as stated as included. Weather was 24 degrees Celsius outside but inside bus was an extremely uncomfortable 38c. Most of the group complained but were told that there was nothing that could be done and that ac was on. (I actually felt sick at one stage). Itinerary stated admission to 2 Cathedrals for 1 hour each and 45 mins in Ossuary Sedlec(bone church). We had a good amount of time in St Barbara’s Cathedral but only about 10 mins in the bone church (very disappointing ) and we didn’t visit the Cathedral of Assumption of our lady and St John the Baptist at all. The tour guides English was quite hard to understand and most of the information was given before the visit on the bus which was very hard to hear. Little or no information was given inside sites and there was no information given as to visit time frames. You had to be vigilant to keep an eye out as she would just start walking off without saying anything or making sure all our group was accounted for. Driver seemed very rude and unaccommodating with the ac situation also. Was an equally hot uncomfortable ride back. Hotel drops offs were not offered even though our itinerary stated that hotel pick up and drop off were included (we were dropped off 1.5 km from hotel and told to find/ pay own way). I queried guide and showed her my itinerary which was dismissed saying that the bus could not drive to our hotel even though we have been travelling on a coach twice the size without any trouble. I also bought up the missed Cathedral and again showed her the itinerary copy on my phone and she just dismissed me saying that she had never been there on previous tours. I said that it was falsely advertised and that it should be reported back to the company. It’s quite an expensive tour without all these inclusions. I never like to put in a negative review and like to support local companies but I don’t want fellow travellers to have the same experience. I have requested a partial refund.
This was a 6 hr tour of Kutnà Hora and the Bone Church. The driver picked me at my hotel. There was also a French couple, and 3 Americans. Our guide was patient, humorous and very knowledgeable. He basically talked for 5-6 hrs straight. He would spend 10 minutes in English and then switch to fluent French to repeat the same info. Multi-lingual guides are usually barely passable in the second or 3rd language. Our guide pleased the French people which means he was very good. I didn't get his name but he is a character. He started way back in the middle ages and told history spanning well over 1000 yrs. Fascinating stuff and he kept it all straight in multiple languages. I really enjoyed him. We visited the cathedral of St. Barbara which was beautiful. Another cathedral is under restoration. Fascinating to see the work being done: plaster, brick n stucco. Sedlec Ossuary contains 40k human bones. I was concerned that some past ruler had killed all those people. Most were lost during the Plague. Very strange place and well worth seeing. Small intimate group of 6. All questions were answered in both languages. I had an excellent day.
This trip was absolutely outstanding from the start to finish. I cannot find one aspect to suggest improving. The guide was fantastic! He made the all trip worthwhile with clear knowledge and outstanding organisation. I recommend it 100%.
The driver that picked us up was unfriendly, bothering on rude; and he was driving like a maniac. The mini bus that we used throughout the day (thankfully with a different driver), had the sensors for a frozen door sounding constantly all the way to Kutna Hora, very distressing and annoying. The guide was good, if a bit impatient. The places we visited were exciting.
It was wonderful to leave Prague for this small town and see some amazing sights. If you want a quick reset from the city while in vacation in Prague, I highly recommend this one. Don't miss the chocolate shop!
Communication mix up about pick up. Another group joined us that we constantly were waiting for so we could move on. Lack of communication when we stopped to eat: was it included? Then waiter charged the entire bill to one gal’s credit card. Bone church is a must see!
We had a lot of fun on this tour! Our tour guide, Blanca, was wonderful and her passion for sharing knowledge about the town was palpable. Unfortunately, a lot of the shops in the old town were closed because we did the tour on a Monday, but it was still really informative and enjoyable.
Bring water and snacks. Very knowledgeable guide. Pick up times were punctual. Transport was comfortable
I have just returned from the half day tour to Kutna Hora. The tour itself was good- the female tour guide was knowledgeable and attentive and the sites visited were interesting and beautiful. However, the very unpleasant ending of the tour has unfortunately soured the whole experience for me. The description of the tour stated that they would pick you up from your hotel and the tour would end at the departure point. As my departure point was my pick up at my hotel I had reasonably expected to be dropped back there at the end. Other members of our group had the same expectation. However we were dropped off at an intermediate collection point a significant distance from my hotel. It was 7 pm and my phone was dead. When I voiced my concerns the bus driver told me to get off the bus!! He had zero concern about an older, single female traveler having to find her way back to her hotel at night with no means to call a taxi or negotiate public transport. The female tour guide was somewhat more helpful and called an Uber for another older single lady on the tour in the same predicament. She also tried to describe to me how to catch public transport to my hotel 25 minutes away. However I eventually decided that getting a taxi was the safest option despite the additional expense. The original tour description is ambiguous and needs to be clarified. Further the tour operator needs to emphasise to participants that they must find their own way back to their hotel at the time of confirmation of booking AND at the start of the tour. The impression I got was that both the driver and tour guide had encountered this situation before yet Best Tour has not improved their ambiguous communication and transparency. This reflects their poor customer service.
Great trip, with easy pickup from our hotel and nice guide. If you have time, definitely worth the trip.
It was struck by the magnitude of lives lost, and the efforts taken to remember those lives lost. It was an inspiring visit
This tour was awesome - great views and amazing buildings and lots of information! Our tour guide was awesome and full of interesting facts about Kutna Hora. He really knew his history! The van driver was very kind and prompt and even went out of his way to bring something we left in the van to our hotel. Would book with this company again!
This was our 8th guided tour on a two week vacation and hands down the worst. The initial pick up was great. The driver took us to a location to meet the rest of the group and then we boarded a small bus. The bus is run down. The AC works but not well. On the way back they had to open the ceiling vent because it wasn’t working in the back of the bus at all. We were seated in the front so got enough cool air but I felt bad for the people in the back. The sites themselves were fine but there was very little information. We spent half the trip not understanding a word the guide said because it was in French. We booked an English tour. The guide was extremely difficult to understand over the speaker so between that and not having half of the talk pertaining to us I gave up and read my book the whole way there. As others said the bathroom was an issue at the first stop- you need 20 crown to use the bathroom but there’s no mention of that before the tour so you can’t be prepared. (There was a second bathroom spot later in the tour which was free and the facilities were fairly decent - but we also didn’t know there would be another bathroom break) The bone church was interesting albeit a little creepy but very little information was given at the site about what we were looking at. The second stop was a bit better but honestly felt like the tour was just not that great. Our guide did try to explain some things at this church, but it was difficult to understand her. We were given about 45 minutes of free time at the end which we spent eating (our choice of course but the tour pick up was 12:05 and we didn’t get dropped off until 18:30 so didn’t really have much choice if we didn’t wanna starve - the food wasn’t great at the Italian place but served its purpose) so didn’t have any time to actually explore the town which we would have liked to be able to do because it was so pretty. I’d go back to these sites, but not with this company. My other gripe is that on the way back, they asked if they could drop us off at the rail station or somewhere else other than the starting point. Which I guess was fine since they weren’t going to return us to our hotel where they picked us up from - news to us - so we would have had to pay for a taxi/uber regardless of where they left us. This was the only time this happened to us on any tour in any country we were in over the last 2 weeks. Honestly the whole tour seemed not well put together and unprofessional. I hate writing a bad review but honestly, save you money and precious time.
The tour was ok. The issue we had was this was a 6 hour tour with no restroom facilities. The only thing offered was a paid toilet but we were not given that information prior to getting on the tour bus. Made for a challenging day.
The Bone Church and St Barbara Cathedral were amazing sites to visit. The tour should include the tour guide to stay with us inside the sites to explain the history and paintings inside the structures. Unfortunately for the long ride back and forth on the bus, the bus was very warm inside and it was a hot day outside. So the traveling was a bit uncomfortable .
The stops at each site were short but appropriate for the size of each place. The big downside is that descriptions and histories of each site were discussed by the tour guide on the bus over the intercom instead of at the site. The tour guide mostly left the group to explore on our own instead of showing us specifics of each place (like other tour guides I observed.) the tour guide was difficult to understand over the bus intercom, so I used Wikipedia to learn about the sites instead. He did have interesting facts to share if you talked to him individually. Lunch lasted an hour, which was enough time. I’d consider this tour a Plan B for your time in Prague.
Overall, we had a great trip - our guide, Martin was very good explaining what we were looking at. Unlike other tours we have been on, there wasn't really much of a logistical break down - as far as explaining when bathroom or water breaks would be available - it was more of a stumble upon a bathroom as we walked to our first stop (cash required - also not told in advance). No breaks to get water or a drink until the last 40 minutes in town. Also, we went in a large tour bus - which wasn't started until it was almost fully loaded - which took ~30 minutes for the AC to even start cooling down the hot bus. Tour great - logistics - could be improved on.
This was not what was advertised or what I wanted. If you are looking for a speed-walking follow-the-leader situation, this tour is for you. However, I was looking for more of a way to explore places and maybe do a little bit of a guided tour at the churches and whatnot. However, this experience was one of the most guided tours I could imagine. The churches were fine, but the guided tour of the town actually made me angry. Our guide just walked far ahead of the group, would stop for about 15 seconds to say a sentence or two about something and then zoom off again. We only had 45 minutes of "free time" to explore the town itself, which was not enough considering we had to eat lunch in that time and weren't allowed to bring food on the bus. So we had just been zoomed through town without even time to take pictures and then we couldn't even go back to look at it or go shopping on our own. It's sad because there was a jewelry maker by the first church who I wanted to buy something from but we were forced to leave so quickly I wasn't able to do that. I don't see the point in a tour if we aren't given the chance to even support the local economy. I really didn't want to give this one star, but unfortunately I could not think of any redeeming qualities. The things we did see were cool, but this was absolutely not the way to see them, and it was really disappointing because I felt like I wasted a day I could've spent doing something else on my trip.
I just toured Kutna Hora with a great tour guide Martin. It was great to get outside of Prague and experience the Czech countryside. Be advised in the Ossuary no photography is allowed period. But our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the Ossuary and the two cathedrals that you also visit on this highly recommended day trip from Prague.
Aleksjez was a great tour guide through Kutná Hora, extremely knowledgable and friendly. I recommend this tour to anyone, as he gave information on not only the area and beautiful cathedrals but provided a convenient ride with hotel pickup. And the bone church, whew, that was wild.
This tour was probably one of the worst we have done - and we have done 4 Viator trips in the last month alone. The bus was not marked and the driver was very moody. The guide did not make anyone feel welcome, was monotone, only recited facts and lacked charisma and a sense of humour. The time spent in the cathedral and surrounding buildings was too long - we walked through the beautiful town past some lovely cafes & shops but couldn't stop. We weren't told what time we would be stopping to eat (it wasn't until 3:30pm) and given the option, we could have easily had longer 'free time' and browsed the quaint shops/cafes. The bone church is very small and you are not allowed to take photos inside! An expensive tour and not worth it in my opinion.
The tour was very interesting and having the guide was the icing on the cake. The Bone Church is an amazing exhibition of artistic talent with great meaning. The Cathedral of Assumption of Our Lady and St. John the Baptist is worthy of the visit. The Cathedral of Santa Barbara is a spectacular, cathedral-esque church decorated with sharp spines, flying buttresses & frescoes. It is beautiful and the architecture is amazing. This guided tour is an easy walk. Unfortunately the weather didn’t hold out for the last hour or so, but there are no regrets and our small group held together through it. Overall a 5/5 experience.
We had mixed thoughts between both my partner and myself. Although we enjoyed the experience it could have been made better with a better guide.
In my opinion it is an excursion for a holiday like 1st May. Nothing soecial to highlight. Good experience.
Great combination of experiencing history and the beautiful countryside. The town was really sweet and gave a true sense Czech culture.
We had a fascinating experience seeing the sites. The Bone Church was hauntingly amazing. It was a beautiful tribute to the thousands of souls who abide there. The churches and villages were gorgeous with stunning scenery.
The tour guide was very informative. I would recommend planning a bathroom break within the 6 hr tour and notifying people before the tour the price of the restroom so they are prepared.
Our guide use was very knowledgeable and funny. We had a great time touring the bone church and the quaint town of Kutna Hora. We had time to walk around the down and grab a coffee and food. It was a tour of 5 people and we were very comfortable in the large van. Great trip!
I had a great experience on my visit to Kutná Hora! The Sedlec ossuary is a must-see, and St. Barbara’s cathedral is absolutely stunning, with unique decoration on the inside. My tour guide, Dana, was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the history of the area. I also enjoyed the walkway beside the Jesuit college. I highly recommend doing this tour while you’re in Prague!
Great guide. Small group and fun experience. Would do again in a heart beat. Will be checking out other trips this agency has.
Fantastic tour, great guide, Kutna Hora such a picturesque please. Bone church is weirdly fascinating
Brilliant guide and driver , it was a small friendly group we learnt lots about the whole town and enjoyed the experience
Our guide, Valentina was so nice and taught us a lot! It was the second time in Kutna Hora, but much better with her this time!
Seeing beautiful town and church. We were disappointed that our tour guide had a cold and we were crammed in a small van. Also could generally not hear her as volume too low and her accent. We were unhappy that we were not returned to our hotel at end of trip and not told before hand.
It was interesting but the tour guide went nonstop in Spanish and English and half the time we could not understand her. The tour operator picked us up at 12noon with departure at 12.30pm. At 4.30pm we stopped at a pizza shop where we were expected to enter and buy food. At that time we were not in the mood to eat pizza so sat outside as sitting inside was taking seats for patrons. The tour guide was really only interested in the Spanish family. We all get old but she was beyond being a tour guide as she was not 100% on her feet up and down steps. We visited a church and I could see some interesting aspects that were being covered so I went off and later was chastised for deviating from the group even though I was still inside the church and only went around the corner and back before she had finished waffling on.
Martin was very informative and had some interesting stories about the town of Kutná Hora and its history.
Amazing trip. Unique places. The bone cathedral is really the best part of the tour. Really Recommended single day tour.
Seems I will just be repeating things people have been mentioning for at least 2 years so why bother, as apparently the company doesn't really care. This includes rushing through the stops, no time for photos, not being told about what we see going through the city, guide rushing ahead, and I'm guessing we all stop at the same cafe for our 30 minutes. We were picked up at the hotel, which was great, but the driver complained the entire time about the company he works for and their poor management. I'd rather have learned about the sites we were passing. We got slowed by an accident enroute to Kutna Hora which resulted in us arriving about an hour late -- but not our fault. Don't cut out that hour on my time that I paid for. The driver should not have a license, let alone be allowed to transport others. Many of us complained about his dangerous driving (which including being on the phone and writing notes on a pad while he drove) but were told "you got back alive so what's the problem?" When we were dropped back at the start point, we were told to walk toward 'that spire down there' and we'd be close to our hotels. Seriously? How many spires are in this city? Was grateful I still have less than 10% of my phone service back. Definitely recommend going to Kutna Hora but not with this company
Kutna Hora is truly a fascinating and unique destination in the Czech Republic. One of the highlights of my visit was the bone church, also known as the Sedlec Ossuary. Walking into this small chapel filled with human bones and skulls may sound macabre, but it is actually quite awe-inspiring. The intricate bone decorations, including a chandelier made entirely of bones, are both eerie and beautiful. Aside from the bone church, Kutna Hora has much more to offer. The historic town center is charming, with its cobblestone streets and colorful buildings. The St. Barbara's Church is a stunning example of Gothic architecture, and the Italian Court, once a royal mint, provides a glimpse into the town's rich history. I highly recommend a visit to Kutna Hora for anyone interested in history, architecture, or just looking to experience something a little different. It is a truly memorable and unforgettable place.
Kutna Horą is worth a visit. Sedlec Ossuary is truly unique. There is a little bit of walking and we were lucky with fair weather. We could have a better guide though.
St Barbara church and it’s history, the walk through Kunta Hora, and the Czeck countryside outside of Prague.
Good transportation. Some confusion on pick up and drop off. Bathroom situation not well thought out. Some locations seemed to lack significant content around the place, history, politics etc. Not fully transparent. Probably go with another company to Kunta Hora which is a town rich in history and cultrue.
This is our first experience with this company and it was rather disappointing. We admire that our guide is multilingual, but waiting until she finished explanations in three languages for the group of 7 people took too much time - the tour was supposed to be in English, and everyone in the group spoke enough English to understand the basic information that she was providing. To make it worse, she did not have any consideration to do it on the bus instead of keeping the whole group under the pouring rain and gusting wind. While the rain was not under her control, the choice of the location where she was giving us general info certainly was. She knows basic facts about Kutna Hora but her presentation was not impressive. Lastly, we were dropped in the city instead of bringing us back to the hotel. My advice is to use a different company.
Okay tour. Lovely town! Beautiful and picturesque. Guide didn't have much patience with the group and wasn't as fluent in languages.
Great tour and excellent tour guide (Maxim I think). Last minute request and trip advisor was able to meet my request. wound up being a private tourwhich I would recomment to anyone!
