Fantastic experience with Anna visiting Bone Ossuary and Kutna Hora! Anna knew so much about the history and area. Highly recommend!

Itinerary
Your guide will take you through a peaceful countryside museum filled with timbered cottages, barns, and historic interiors that capture centuries of Czech village life. Step inside homes, peek into an old schoolroom or stable, and discover folk traditions — some of which are still alive today. Please note: The open-air museum is closed on Mondays and seasonally in November and from December 31 to March 15. During these dates, we’ll visit another charming site that fits the spirit of the tour.
Visit one of Europe’s most remarkable Gothic churches, built by miners in honor of their patron saint. With soaring vaults, colorful frescoes, and dramatic views over the former silver town, this UNESCO landmark offers both artistic beauty and historical depth.
Once a royal town rich in silver, Kutná Hora rivaled Prague in its heyday. Today, its charm lives on in pastel facades, quiet courtyards, and winding alleys. After a short guided stroll, you’ll have time to explore: browse local shops, pop into a museum(s), enjoy the views — or relax with a glass of local wine.
Step into one of the oldest cathedrals in Bohemia, a serene baroque-gothic masterpiece that blends spiritual depth with striking architecture. Often overlooked by visitors, this UNESCO site offers a peaceful and uncrowded experience — and a moment of quiet reflection before the city unfolds.
Enter one of Europe’s most haunting and unforgettable chapels, decorated with the bones of over 40,000 people. Beneath the surface lies a powerful reminder of history, mortality, and medieval artistry — all in a surprisingly peaceful setting. Please note: Photography is strictly prohibited inside the ossuary. As a place of rest for thousands, we ask all visitors to treat it with respect.

Fun and the sights are not to be missed! Jana was flexible and fun! We went on a day the folk village was closed, so we saw a private castle instead. Lovely!
We had a wonderful tour! Jana, our tour guide, was amazing. She was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and welcoming, and we thoroughly enjoyed spending the day with her. We highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a memorable experience!
We had so much fun on this tour! The cultural village was closed, so we went a private castle. What a treat! Kutna Hora and St Barbara Cathedral are hidden gems well worth seeing. The Ossuary church has been on my list for years. It was well worth it. Communication before and after the tour was great. Our guide was knowledgeable and flexible with us. Loved every minute! Lunch was yummy, too!
Jana was amazing! She picked us up right at our hotel and drove us out to the most beautiful places Holasovice and czesky krumlov. The history of those places was so incredible and she was fascinating to listen to and was so well-versed on the history of the Czech Republic. We highly recommend this excursion!!
Had fun. Jana was a great guide. Very friendly and knowledgeable.
Jana was a jewel of information. The tour covered a lot but very interesting.
Excellent guide, amazing trip. Definitely value for money!
Nice day trip out of Prague! The history and culture insights were interesting, and the small group setting was perfect. Big thanks to our guide, Ondrej, who was professional, accommodating, and worked hard throughout the day.
The guide was great! The town was beautiful and interesting.
Me and my partner were first time in Prague and booked this tour with Andrej and it was absolutely excellent choice ! Every detail of the small group tour was perfect ,from the car and the driving ( very clea n,very safe driving, ) the stops chose n, also Ondrej speaks clear good English easy to understand, he is a very kind person, very professional, takes care of his customers in every minute of the day. We had a very good lunch in Kutna Hora ,visited so many places without waiting at any line , I was really happy that my Partner booked this option and I highly recommend Andrek as tour guide . Thank you for this wonderful day Andrej and I am waiting for you in Athens !
This day trip to Kutna Hora and the folk village was Amazing !! I found Ondrej via his reviews and knew that it will be an excellent day tour. This day was really wonderful, Ondrej has a great comfortable mini van , He has a great way to explain and show you unique spots and not only the typical areas for mass tourism he organizes the day to perfection adapting everything to the group type..I traveled in many countries and did many tours, this tour is definitely amazing and worth every penny. Book the tours of Ondrej, he is really excellent in what he does .
We had a wonderful time with Julia! Very courteous and knowledgeable. Very comfortable and clean car, everything on time. And the Cesky Krumlov Castle and village is beautiful! We highly recommend this tour and agency
We had an incredible day with our guide Jana. Such a beautiful village with so much history. Even a little rain couldn’t dampen our spirits. A must do. Fabulous company as well.
Jana was wonderful! I thoroughly enjoyed the day. I loved learning all about the city. Excellent lunch and service for the entire tour!
The tour started perfectly with Ondrej picking us up directly from our hotel. The private transportation was clean, comfortable, and made the whole journey very relaxing. We started in the small folk village, which was actually my favorite part of the tour. The village is beautiful, with charming houses, traditional objects, and many interesting places to take photos. Ondrej told us so many interesting stories about the history of the village, and his knowledge made the experience even more special. After that, we went to Kutná Hora and visited the Bone Church. It was a magnificent experience, and I honestly don’t have words to describe how impressive it is to see it in person. Listening to Ondrej explain the history of the church made everything even more fascinating, it felt like something straight out of a movie. For lunch, Ondrej took us to a great restaurant with fresh, high quality food. My dish was delicious, and my friends also loved theirs. The restaurant is right in front of St. Barbara’s Cathedral, so we had an amazing view while having lunch. Afterwards, we visited the cathedral, and I can honestly say it is the most beautiful cathedral I have ever seen. It is gigantic, fabulous, and full of incredible details. We spent around 40 minutes walking around while listening to the history of the place, and I absolutely loved it. I highly recommend this tour without a doubt. I would definitely do it again, even though I’ve already done it once hahaha. It was a truly memorable experience.
This trip was memorable , filled with history of this medieval town. The guide Ondrej was excellent and his knowledge of the history and culture was eloquently expressed in his passionate delivery !
I absolutely loved this day trip guided by Ondrej. Seamless pick up and drop off. Comfy transport. Being a small group tour we got to see and do things the larger groups miss. I highly recommend this tour and any that Ondrej or his company host.
Excellent tour! Our guide was friendly, informative and made the experience enjoyable from start to finish. We loved learning about the area and especially enjoyed the stop at the chocolate store and striking our own silver coin. A fun surprise! Highly recommend.
I had a great time with Ondřej in Kutná Hora. We had a couple of cancellations leaving us with a very small group of three, but Ondřej still went ahead with the tour and kept excellent energy throughout. You will see the best of Kutná Hora with this tour including St Barbara's and the Sedlec bone church, and a lot of things you wouldn't think to visit yourself, including the folk village in the morning. However, I did end up going back myself another day to do tours of the Italian Court and Hrádek, which naturally were not included with so much else going on (though you do see both up close during the walk). This is an expensive tour, but it is pretty clear what you pay for with the quality of the guide, hotel pickup and number of locations visited without sacrificing historical detail. Overall, would absolutely recommend this trip. I went solo, but there were other groups of two and three with me for this and the Český Krumlov trip, so no real restrictions.
Incredible! Small group exploration of Kutna Hora! Extremely knowledgeable, friendly guides pick you up at your hotel & give a beautiful snapshot of Kutna Hora, past and present. Stops include a quaint Folk Park, the Magnificent gothic Cathedral of St Barbara, & one of a kind Sedlac Ossuary / Bone Chapel. Lunch was included as well as time for personal exploration! I am so Grateful I discovered Kutna Hora with Jana & Czech Out Tours!!
We had a great time. Our tour guide was very engaging and knowledgeable and we would enthusiastically recommend this tour.
Had an awesome experience. Ondřej was an amazing guide and really knows his history and made it a very memorable experience! There were ample amounts of time to see all the stops and it was just a great time all around. We also saw first-hand how crowded the other tours were, and SO glad I chose this one. Very happy to have met you, Ondřej and don't hesitate to keep in touch!
Our tour guide Jana did an amazing job. Her knowledge of historical events was very impressive . She made our day, and we would highly recommend Jana
We had a wonderful day with Ondřej! He picked us up at our hotel with water and snacks, knew the best places for pictures, coffee, and treats, and provided excellent information the entire time. The small group experience meant we could go places and see things the big groups can't! I highly recommend this tour!
Ondrej was the most amazing guide! He made the day perfect! He had excellent communication before the trip. He helped us avoid the crowds and added extra content that made trip unforgettable! It was very personalized and he helped us learn a lot about the Czech culture and history. He was a joy to spend the day with and his English is superb. We highly recommend any tour with Ondrej!
It's rare to find tour guides as passionate and as engaged as the folks in Czech Out, tour was deeply stimulating and the guide was not only very prepared and knowledgable but a lovely and very easygoing person with whom myself and the group enjoyed greatly the experience, on top of which for the price they're offering, full day experiences like the one we got... plus pick up at your hotel... is unmatched. Very easy 5 star for me :)
Really enjoyed our day with Jana. She has such a warm personality and is passionate about history. Make sure to ask to see a photo of her self made medieval costume! So talented. This was such a unique tour. The first stop, you get to step back in time and explore what traditional Czech village life was like in a beautiful recreated historic town. Moving on to Kutna Hora, it was fascinating to see the Sedlec Ossuary. NOTE: it is a 15 min timed admission and they no longer allow photographs inside. After a really nice lunch we got to explore the beautiful St. Barbara church and the small town of Kutna Hora. Made for a wonderful day and enjoyed the small intimate size of the tour group. Highly recommend Czech Out Tours!
We had an amazing day on this tour. We chose to do a private tour as a family of four with two teenagers. Ondrej was great at interacting with them and keeping them interested. The whole day was excellent from the moment we were picked up at our hotel until the moment we were dropped back. I would highly recommend this tour.
We actually had two guides, Jana, and the owner of the business, Andre. It was fun having two guides though they split up the task. We were a group of 8 and we were transported via a very comfortable Peugeot van. They provided water and snacks and offered to stop for any bathroom breaks. There was a photographer who came along to film some media content who seemed to always be in the way when my husband was trying to take pictures. The lunch was adequate. We had more than enough free time to shop and certainly appreciated that the guides pointed out vendors who sold authentic Czech wares.
Creatively crafted custom itinerary that perfectly aligned with our interests. Ondrej is such a pleasant and informative guide to take a tour with. He is committed to giving his guests the best experience possible. He schedules stops based on your interests, giving you the time you would want at any given place. During the Kutna Hora trip, instead of waiting for the mine visit, he detoured us into an impromptu stop at a mint museum and we got a personal presentation on how silver coins were minted. So special!
We had a great day traveling to Kutná Hora with Ondrej. Provided good information, great conversation and memorable experiences.
The best guide who was extremely knowledgeable and spent the right amount of time at each location. Convenient pick up and drop off at the hotel. Our guide selected a fabulous outdoor spot for lunch with great food and brought us for gelato and chocolate after.
Our guide, Ondřej, was fabulous. From the get-go, he was very friendly and made us feel welcomed. He was patient and responsive to all our pre trip logistics questions. He enthusiastically answered all of our questions about Kutna Hora, folks village, the cathedrals and Czech culture/history in general. He was very knowledgeable and fluent in English. We learned more from Ondřej than any of our guides on previous tours. We appreciated how relaxed and personalized the tour was with a small surprise at the end and time to peruse local shops. Wish we could have had the opportunity to use his services for our other Prague tours! We would recommend this tour to anyone!
Ondřej was an outstanding tour guide. He was incredibly polite, friendly, and always willing to help, making the entire experience enjoyable from start to finish. His knowledge of the area was extensive and fascinating, and he presented everything in a way that was engaging and easy to follow. The tour included a few wonderful surprises, and Ondřej clearly knows all the right spots to make the experience truly memorable. This was a 10/10 experience, and I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Kutná Hora. Thank you, Ondřej, for an unforgettable day!
Oh my gosh. If you are looking for a tour guide in the Czech Republic stop looking and book Czech Out Tours now before somebody else steals the spot you want. Everything about our tour was perfect from beginning to end. The tour was incredibly well planned and everything fit together perfectly. I can recommend Czech Out Tours for Kunta Hora hands down a perfect tour. We also booked a private tour that fit our needs perfectly. I have some mobility issues and great care was taken to make sure my limitations didn’t interfere with our journey. I am leaving with great memories, tons of cool pictures and a new guide friend that I will call on again the next time I am in this neck of the woods.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour to Kutna Hora. Jana was our tour guide, she was very friendly & knowledgeable. The day was very relaxing & a lot of fun. Thank you Jana for a wonderful day. We highly recommend this tour.
Worth every dime! Jana was the best tour guide we could have asked for. She was adventurous, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. We had a wonderful day, learned so much, and thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. She never rushed us through any exhibits and maintained a relaxed, laid-back pace throughout the tour. We saw so many beautiful places and gained a deeper appreciation for the area. Highly recommended!
It was a full day, but a small group made it very easy. Our guide, Jana, was very knowledgeable and eager to share information and history of the area with us. She also was flexible with lunch times and choices. Entry to Kutna Hora is timed entry, and she made sure we knew that part was not flexible.
Jana handled herself very well through an unexpected delay early in the tour. The delay was in no way the fault of the tour company. The tour itself was great with excellent stops throughout the day, and the best meal I had during my stay in Prague. The St. Barbara's church was amazing.
Our guide picked us up at our lodgings and it ended up being a private tour as we were the only ones booked. He was very friendly and knowledgeable with a clear love of history, travel, and sharing “hidden gems” with his clients. The folk museum was closed on Mondays when we went so we got to stop at Sternberk Castle instead, which was amazing for its history and beauty and we also got a private tour there. Kutna Hora was our main destination and the town was even better than expected. We got to tour all the promised sites with lots of context and explanation from our guide and had a nice, traditional lunch included. He also took us to some fun shops, a jewelry store for me, a chocolate shop for my son, and gelato shop for all of us! A definite trip highlight and would recommend to anyone.
The history of Kutna Hora is very interesting. Our guide, Ondrej is very knowledgeable. The ossuary was impressive. It was also interesting to get out in the countryside and visit the village museum.
Great private experience. It was me and my friend, Andrej was our guide. He picked us up in a van, as well as 4 other people who booked the tour, and it was very comfy for the whole ride. Andrej was very informative and entertaining, and was very easy to talk to about the sites we visited as well as answering our questions about Czech culture. The restaurant we had lunch at was a fantastic Czech restaurant, highly recommend getting the lunch included. We were back at our place at about 5pm
Czech Out Tours was so awesome! We did 3 days of tours with them on our visit to Prague and they were all really great!! We visited Kutna Hora with Ondrej and Jana with a small group. It was really well organized. First we stopped at a beautiful Castlw and had a tour there. Then we went to Kitna Hora. Both guides were very knowledgeable and gave great information about the history on the town as well as some history of the country. We visited the bone church, 2 cathedrals a chocolate shop which had a little museum. We also had a great lunch and the opportunity for some wine tasting. I highly recommend Czech Out tours!!!
This was a great small group experience! Everything was well organized and a lot of fun. Ondřej was our guide and he was fantastic. He knew all the hidden spots and certainly made it a unique experience!
“We had a wonderful experience with Andrew from Czech Out Tours. He was friendly, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable about Prague and Czech history. He shared so many interesting stories and details that we never would have learned on our own. The tour was well planned, relaxed, and enjoyable from start to finish. Andrew’s enthusiasm and sense of humor made the day even better. Highly recommend! As a side note, we booked another tour with Andrew to Karlovy the next day!!!
This was an outstanding experience! Ondrej and Jana were amazing. They went out of their way to make this a memorable trip. Everything was planned and executed with perfection. Ondrej has all the connections you would expect from a first class private guide - would not go anywhere else.
I would strongly recommend this tour. We had a lovely day with our guide Ondrej. Our day began with a very comfortable drive in a spacious van and we were provided with water and a snack. Our trip involved a stop at an historic village on our way to Kutna Hora. It was really interesting to see how people lived hundreds of years ago. Kunta Hora is a beautiful town and the bone church was an experience we will not forget. Ondrej is very knowledgeable about the history of this town and its historic buildings and churches. The views are incredible and we had the opportunity to take some great photos. We made a surprise stop at a small boutique chocolate shop, had a chocolate tasting with some very unique chocolate, and the best hot chocolate I’ve ever tasted. We chose the tour with lunch and unlike other tours with lunch, the restaurant we went to was a local restaurant. The food was delicious, there were many options, and we had a fantastic view of the church from our table. I did this tour with my 83 year old mother and she managed without issue. All in all it was a lovely day.
This day trip from Prague was just what we needed! A day outside the city touring a quaint little folk village, followed by tours of St Barbara’s Cathedral, and the Bone Church (Ossuary). We had a fantastic lunch in Kutna Hora, recommended by our knowledgeable and respectful tour guide Ondrej. After lunch we then toured St James church, went to a delightful chocolate museum/shop (free samples!!), and did a wine tasting (local wine!) outside St. James. We had a timed entry at the ossuary (which was creepy-cool!), but before we were allowed in, we stopped at a nice jewelry shop. I was seduced by some beautiful garnet pieces (very reasonable prices!), and the purchase was made even better by a taste of some apricot liqueur! Please note that there are no photos to be taken inside the ossuary, so put your cameras away and take it all in with your brain. It really is something to behold… Another note about Ondrej: He was safe and timely with our pick up (right outside our Airbnb) and was very communicative throughout the process. Ondrej also spoke magnificent English, and translated when needed! I highly recommend doing this day trip!!!
