Adam was a terrific guide, really knowledgeable and personable. Group size terrific, we had seven which was a great number to be able to all questions but also keep pace. Restaurant was an alternative (Pension a restaurant U mani), food was delicious and very generous portions. I actually asked for mine with no chips, would have been huge! One thing to note is lots and lots of hills and stairs. Pace is kind but be aware I have low fitness and felt the burn. At one point in the cave is a spiral staircase on 83 steps, yikes but awesome. Both the castle and caves are one in a lifetime experience. Definitely worth the price!

We really enjoyed our day trip. Josef was our guide and he was so friendly, knowledgeable and entertaining. He also took very good care of us and did a lot to make sure our whole experience was good. Thanks, Josef for a great day!
Great experience all round, we had Martin as our tour guide and he was informative and very interesting, great to see he clearly enjoys his job and is passionate about Prague. The pick and drop off was seamless and would definitely recommend. Gave us a great opportunity to try some Czech food, see some sights outside the main city centre and all around a great trip!
This tour was so much fun and so informative about the history of Czechia, the cave tour was incredible and I couldn't ask for a better tour guide! Josef is very knowledgeable about the geology of the cave system and the mining quarries and he can answer every question you have about it!
An excellent day, a magnificent castle with a lot of history, excellent guide. The caves were also super interesting, with a fantastic guide informing us of its fascinating history..
It’s a great tour, awesome locations if you are in Prague. Transport was smooth, comfortable and on time. The guide was really friendly and knowledgeable.
Our guide, Adam, was amazing. He was full of useful history & information. The food at lunch was authentic & delicious. Unfortunately, we were the last to be picked up so we couldn't sit together and during this entire trip, I sat next to two strangers and had no arm rest to lean on. The 3 people in the back were family and the two people next to me were family, so on the way back they all slept on each other...my husband had to sit up front by driver so since I had nothing to lean on, I was exhausted when we got back. This tiny little van should never have had 8 adults in it. Being so uncomfortable ruined what would have been a perfect trip.
We had an absolutely amazing day exploring Karlštejn Castle and the caves! Our guide Martin was fantastic, the group was great, and the entire experience was so well organized from beginning to end. The scenery was beautiful, the stops were interesting, and the food was a solid 10/10. Honestly, everything about this tour exceeded our expectations. We’ve done several tours during our trip to Prague, and this one was definitely a standout. It’s the kind of experience that makes a trip even more memorable, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book with this company again. If you’re visiting Prague and considering a day trip, do yourself a favor and book with them. You won’t regret it!give
We had a wonderful time exploring Karlštejn Castle today! Our guide, Martin, was fantastic—very organized, knowledgeable, and thoughtful. He made sure everything went smoothly and that everyone was well taken care of. The food was also delicious, making the experience even more enjoyable. A memorable day filled with beautiful sights, great food, and excellent company. Highly recommend this tour, especially with Martin as your guide!

We have spent 2 weeks is the Czech Republic and Poland and in that time we did 9 different tours. This was the best tour of the trip. Our guide, Josef, was fantastic! He shared information in an engaging, passionate and understandable fashion. The drive into the Czech countryside was beautiful. The castle was fascinating and crazy picturesque. The lunch with the castle as a backdrop was a great treat. The cave was a surprise. The backstory is cool and the cave structure beautiful. In all a great tour!
Adam our guide was just great! Very well informed and passionate about what does. He was also a very good drivet
Martin, our guide was exceptional- friendly, smart, knowledgable, funny and highly experienced. We toured the castle, had a great lunch extremely close to the castle and then got a very detailed explanation and history of the caves.
Amazing tour, Martin was a very good guide and very knowledgeable on all things Prague! He also gave great recommendations on places to go after the tour
Worthwhile tour to the Karlstejn castle and even better at the Caves. Martin is a great tour guide, his energy, knowledge and enthusiasm are remarkable. Good value for money. The tour size was just right, 8 people in total including Martin. Uniline company is professional and communicative. The day went by very quickly. Lunch was great and the atmosphere among the tourists was comfortable, mostly thanks to the guide. Also we think the Caves and surrounding area are a must-see while visiting in Czechia.
Amazing views, great review of history & well preserved sites. Guides were well trained & knowledgeable.
What a delightful day trip this was. After being picked up at my hotel, our small group drove to Karlstejn Castle where we had an informative tour and time to wander a bit. Our guide for the day (Martin) provided very interesting information during our drive and upon our arrival at the Castle. Afterwards he took us on a tour of the nearby Koneprusy Caves - his excellent explanations of what we were seeing in the caves was like getting a geology 101 lesson. So informative and interesting!! It was a thoroughly enjoyable and educational day and I would recommend this wholeheartedly! Well worth the time and money.
Matyas, our guide was superb!!. Very knowledgeable of the tour sites visited and his detailed tech explanation of the caves formation was very interesting and valuable. Pickup and drop off at our staying location was right on time. Definitely recommended.
Our entire experience on this day trip with Adam was terrific! The van was roomy and comfortable and bottled water and snacks were available if needed. He also willingly accommodated a special request to drop us off at a different hotel than where we were picked, which was a great convenience to us. All of the activities were as described, the included lunch was delicious with multiple options, and the knowledge of our guide exceeded expectations. His English was fluent and we had great conversations with others on the tour representing Sweden, Poland, Taiwan, and the U.S. So many great perspectives!!! There were adequate restroom breaks and photo opportunities and much to learn about Czech history outside of Prague. We would highly recommend this excursion!
Adam was very knowledgeable about the history of the area, castle and caves. He made the day fun and interactive. Our whole group challenged each other on who had the answers to what Adam had told us about that day. It really brought the group together with great conversation and laughter.
This was a great tour. Adam was our driver and cave guide along with insightful information between destinations. I only wish we could have heard more of his commentary but there was no microphone or amplifier so the rear passengers could only hear part of the information. He was very knowledgeable though and did a great job on the cave tour. The castle guide and also did a terrific job.
We had a great time on this tour with Adam! It was a perfect way to see the Karlštejn Castle and the Caves in a day- all a short trip outside the City! It was seamless from pick up at our hotel to drop off. Adam was so friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
We loved everything about this tour. Our Driver and tour guide, Adam was courteous and a wealth of information. He offered drinks and snacks on the van which was nice. There was a lot of uphill walking but it was well worth the effort once we reached our destination. The castle was rustic and authentic. The place we stopped for lunch was delicious. Food was authentic and experience was charming. We were blown away by the Konetrusy cave exploration. Did not know what to expect, guide was helpful with descriptions and explanations. Especially loved his recap outside at the 3D model of where we went during our tour. We would do this again and highly recommend this tour!
Great trip and the guide Adam was excellent
Our experience today was perfect! Thank you to our amazing guide, Josef! We ended up the only couple in the tour and Josef made this experience more fun and special. He’s smart, very knowledgeable and well mannered. Both castle and cave were worth visiting. Josef is a geologist which made the cave tour very interesting. The lunch near the castle was delicious as well. Highly recommended most specially our tour guide Josef.
Martin was great. Very nice change of pace vs old town Prague. Castle was awesome, caves were great too.
We had a fantastic day visiting the Karlštejn Castle and Koněpruské Caves. Martin was a fantastic tour guide! Great personality and very knowledgeable about the history of the castle and caves. We were in a small group with just 4 people, so it felt like a private tour. Highly recommend!
Jozef was a great guide with amazing knowledge of the science and history of Czech. He had some fun surprises for us in the Koneprusy caves, which were amazing in and of themselves, on top of his detailed explanation of their history and geologic formation. The Karlstejn castle tour was more than worthwhile, and we would highly recommend. Lunch was fantastic conversing with Jozef and other tourists over an excellent Czech meal.
SO WORTH IT! Such an amazing guide and you really get your moneys worth with this tour- a thorough tour of the Roman emperor's castle that includes a lot of history on Prague followed by a lovely lunch then a cave tour. Be prepared for a lot of walking.
This was the perfect small group tour where we were able to immerse ourselves in Czechia's Medieval history. These tours included a delicious lunch and awesome guide! In Karlstejn, we learned that the vast majority of the crown jewels of Emperor Charles IV and other monarchs were stored there during the 30 Years War. When the Swedes laid siege to the castle a second time with catapults and trebuchets from the surrounding hills, they conquered and sacked it stealing all of Czechia's treasures except the Crown of St. Wenceslas and 2 other small items that had been taken elsewhere before the battle. To this day, Sweden refuses to repatriate the priceless and sentimental Slavic symbols of state they stole in 1648!
I had such a good time. Definitely worry-free for the whole trip. Our tour guide was so nice and knowledgeable!
This is a great trip just outside of Prague with short driving time between sites. The Karlstejn Castle’s significant place in history was brought to life by both our driver/guide and the palace guide. Although our visit did not include the Chapel of the Holy Cross, it was still well worth the visit. Our guide, Josef, really shined when he took our small group to the Koneprusy Caves. With a geology degree, his enthusiasm rubbed off on all of us. We learned a lot and lived the beautiful cave formations. The local lunch was delicious and hearty. Highly recommend this tour
Adam was amazing, very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. A fun alternative to spending another day in town. Highly recommended.
Adam was FANTASTIC! He took care of everything and was so informative and nice. I highly recommend this tour and ask for Adam!! 5 stars!!!
Adam is a wonderful guide. He is very knowledgeable about the caves and castle, as well as Czechia history. Enjoyed this day trip during visit to Prague and learned a lot along the way.
Highly recommend booking this trip . Our guide Adam picked us up from our hotel and took us on a wonderful adventure through Czech countryside. You will get to experience history, nature, and local cuisine all in one day!!! The castle and surroundings are breathtaking. The tour through the caves was absolutely amazing. The lunch at the local restaurant was excellent as well. Thank you Adam for making this day unforgettable.
Pavel(Paul) is very knowledgable and a pleasure to talk to. He provided a lot of information about the history of the area, the cave and the castle.
Very cool trip to the castle and caves. Definitely recommend it! Thanks for an informative trip. A perfect day trip getaway
Great tour. Our guide was amazing. Very considerate to make sure everyone made it aboard. So incredibly knowledgeable, worldly and fun. The castle wasn’t as impressive as I thought it would be inside. The castle guide, different that our tour guide, was so soft spoken and talked so fast, made the castle tour itself less effective, with all of the echo in the rooms.
The Koneprusy Caves are a must visit! Ask for Joseph, he was a very good guide and has professional knowledge of the region. Karlstejns castle is beautiful and has intresting history.
I am SO GLAD I booked this tour. Our driver/guide Josef was so lovely and knowledgeable. As a trained geologist, he was the perfect guide through the cave, but he was able to share plenty of information about the other sites and Prague/Czechia in general as well. He quickly developed a rapport with my son, which made the day even more enjoyable. The lunch we had in between the castle and cave visits was one of my favorite meals I had my whole trip. The only drawback for me is that the castle tour did not include Chapel of the Holy Cross, which I was unaware of when I booked.
Adam gave a well paced, super informative tour across several genres. First off, a geology and industry lesson as the Grand Canyon. Next, Interesting details on why the castle was built in a valley and how it kept its secret water wheel unknown to seiges. A comfortable lunch time conversation was a good time to ask any further questions about the castle. Very different than the one in Prague or Krumlov. Not much of a medieval village to explore so save that for a Krumlov tour. Then, Adam turned into a geology expert with his detailed explanations in the cave system. Adam weaved in human history stories that kept my 15 year old engaged in learning the details. He also held the respect and attention of our travel companions from Norway who were there on a grad trip. Plus, he’s a great driver ! My son said he enjoyed this trip more than seeing cesky krumlov, so if you have kids and are trying to decide what tour to take, you now have your answer.
I had an amazing day. The castle visit was stunning, lunch was delicious with plenty of options, and the caves were interesting. The guide was friendly and everything was well planned.
What a great way to see a historic medieval castle and to see some stunning caves! This day trip was a great time, and our guide Adam made it so much better! He was super knowledable about the history of Czechia, and taught us so much knowledge in the caves. The lunch at a local restaurant was really great as well where we got to enjoy some local cuisine. Will be recommending this day trip to anyone i know going to Prague.
Great communication from Uniline tour operator, tour guide Adam and Viator booking. Caves were amazing and Adam and his colleague shared aspects and made the excursion memorable and safe. Castle was interesting and scenic —-though our castle-based knowledgeable Tourguide Sarah spoke English well, but too fast and without articulating so often hard to understand. You do not see the upper castle which in photos looked most interesting. Wish we had more time to see the whole video beforehand. Lunch was disappointing-marginal, but provided by sweet mom & pop across from castle climb that provided closer parking with less of steep climb to top. Beer tasty. But really stuffy and hot in restaurant, no a/c nor able to open the windows —/even though lots of flies inside. Only complaint on operator was squeezing 8 into van. Two front seats with driver were sub-sized and not very comfortable for a supposed small group tour. Middle one could not stretch out legs. Middle and rear seats had room. Lots of steps and inclines. Be prepared.
The trip was amazing. Our guide Paul was very friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. The medieval castle was lovely and well worth the visit. The English guide within the castle was excellent. We went with Paul who guided us through the caves. The walk through the caves was very interesting and had an excellent visit. I have to mention that it was sad to see that some visitors could not respect simple rules. Paul had to tell a man from another group that he cannot try to scale the cave walls!
This was a fun day trip. The castle was lovely to visit but much of what is inside is replica of the original. The caves on the other hand were marvelous and fascinating. That alone made the trip worth it with the wonderful guidance from our tour guide Jospeh. He was very charismatic and full of knowledge about many aspects of Czech history.
The castle and caves were both fascinating—and the drive offered a great glimpse of the Czech countryside. Lunch was very nice. Overall, definitely well worth the trip. Martin was a perfect guide. Very informative and friendly—great stories and explanations. So knowledgeable and organized and helpful. Very communicative, too, when en route to pickup.
We enjoyed our day. Keep in mind there are a lot of stairs and some significant hills. Paul was a great guide- informative, interesting, and fun. Highly recommend.
We had an amazing time on the Karlštejn Castle and Koněprusy Caves tour! Our guide, Martin, was absolutely fantastic. He kept us entertained with interesting stories throughout the journey and was incredibly kind, polite, and caring. His explanations were engaging and informative, and he truly made the experience even more enjoyable. The tour itself was wonderful. Karlštejn Castle was beautiful and full of history, and the Koněprusy Caves were absolutely breathtaking. We also had a delicious lunch in the village near the castle. I highly recommend trying Kofola, a traditional Czech soft drink—it was surprisingly delicious! The only downside was the weather. It was extremely hot, with temperatures between 35°C and 37°C, which made walking around a bit challenging. Despite the heat, we had a fantastic day and created wonderful memories. I highly recommend this tour, especially if you’re lucky enough to have Martin as your guide!
