Excellent. Entertainment food well done
The food was excellent! The service was wonderful, and the entertainment was FUN! The guy serving wine has a real skill! I l8 ed the audience participation!
My nephew and I had so much fun at this dinner. We expected something very touristy. And while it was, we had super fun with the entertainers and the audience. We had a really good meal with plenty of traditional food and drink. We ate so glad we booked this.
Great performance of the traditional cultural folklore as well as food, beer and wine. Excellent customer service. Definitely, will refer friends or relatives to this best tour.
The experience was so fun from pick up to drop off. The traditional singing, dancing and exceptional music were amazing. The food, drinks and staff were wonderful. If you get a chance to book this, it is well worth it.
Although the location is way out of town in a weird neighborhood, once inside the traditional atmosphere is welcoming. Pick up/ drop off to hotel is provided. The little old lady playing the cymbalom (like a xylophone) is so sweet and greets everyone. Waiters continually shoot wine into your glass with glass carafes with long spouts. Evening ends with dancing. Great night
Food was nice and the entertainment was very enjoyable. A variety of singing and dancing and the musicians were excellent.
Me and my wife were in Prague for a Valentine's weekend, and thought I would treat her to something on the first night, and this took our fancy. Its located quite a bit out of town on the edge of Prague, but they provided a free transfer for us, and it showed up right on time at our hotel front door. A 15 minute drive and you are taken to a nice countryside style restaurant with a real feel of the village about it. You get a really good and warm welcome, with a free shot, and then shown to your table. We were the second couple there and they gave us a private table to the side of the stage. Unlimited drinks, and they just kept them flowing all night. Fantastic night had by both me and my wife, and can highly recommend this. Be prepared for audience participation, but the entertainment is top notch and will have you wanting to take part. Whole night was maybe just short of 3 hours, which was the perfect length. Our driver back to our hotel was waiting for us when the night was over and were back at our hotel in no time.
Great engagement, food, music...minor confusion with the tour operator. Sorted out. Highly recommend.
This was a great look into the food and traditional music of the Czech Republic. The musicians and dancers were excellent and the food was great. Plenty of wine and beer also. The woman leading the music was fun and spoke at least 4 languages. They played music from each country represented by the audience. They had plenty of audience participation also.
We enjoyed out night out at the Folklore Evening. The musicians were very entertaining and inclusive of the audience. My husband was mesmerized by the way the waiter was able to pour our drinks.
We were picked up at our hotel and taken to the venue. For the first half hour we were the only people there. Served lots of beer and wine and some interesting cuisine. The entertainment was lively and fun.
We were with a group and had no idea what we were getting into. The music started right after a slide show showing locals playing and dancing from years gone by. The singing and dancing then went non-stop the entire 3 hours we were there. They were very good musicians and performers. They “encouraged” us to join in, even waving a big wooden spoon at us at one point. It was silly and funny at the same time. They had our group up dancing and playing instruments also. The costume changes were many and the solo instrument playing was interesting, they had us quiet down at several spots so they could play their solos. The traditional Czech meal was just okay for our taste. The wine was unlimited but very sweet. The wine guy squirted wine into your glass before it was even empty. The shot of alcohol they served before dinner was unusual but fun. We would have enjoyed some quiet times so we could talk to each other. A night to remember for sure.
Excellent and fun times! The food was great, and the musicians and dancers were good as well. The whole event gave you a good look into the culture of the people. The only thing I would suggest is that they need a second screen and a projector on the other side of the room. Only about 2/3rds of the people are seated in a way that they can see the screen for the short movie that is played. Otherwise our group of four had a wonderful time and it was well worth the cost. Thank you, Ken
This was a great experience! And the food was wonderful. (Tho the best wine in Prague is still beer!) Service was great and the venue was cozy, even though there were a lot of people there! Definitely a fun night.
Our tour group was here on our last night. The band, singing and dancing were all great and very entertaining. Our wine glasses were always full. The traditional Czech food was just OK. Overall, it was a fun evening.
Transportation included with clear guidance on pick up at our hotel. Goid food & great local, authentic music & dancing as the entertainment.
We booked this experience for two adults with two teenagers (19 and 16). We took advantage of the free pick-up from Prague 2, which was convenient and the driver was on time. We were the only passengers in a 7-seater bus. The driver didn’t speak English but was friendly and helpful and the drive was about half an hour away - further than we thought. It felt like we were taken to the middle of nowhere and the venue was nowhere full with only two other tables booked. The band started on time and our starter arrived pretty much as soon as we sat down. The three course meal was surprising tasty however we did have a dietary requirement which did not seem to have got passed to the restaurant. It was not a big issue for us but could be for others so check on arrival. Drinks kept coming and our glasses were kept topped up throughout. The entertainment was a combination of traditional music, dances and songs through the whole meal. We were invited to join in the singing, dancing and playing instruments. We were made to feel very welcome and had lots of fun as a family.
A very fun evening with lots of yummy food, constant drink top-ups and fabulous, traditional entertainment. It felt like I'd been shot back decades in time lol. Plenty of audience participation and I wasn't alone for long, as I was seated with two groups who were extremely welcoming and fun!
We had a wonderful evening! We were greated promptly and well taken care of from the moment we arrived. Each course of our meal was delicious and we never had an empty glass. The entertainment was fun and thoughtful. The musicians are very talented. We sat right next to the musicians and enjoyed the interactions with them. The dancers and vocalist were also very talented and very fun to watch. My husband and I were very happy with our selection of this folklore dinner!
This event was such a fun night! We were a bit cautious when we first arrived, but it didn’t take long for the skilled musicians and lively entertainers to pull us in. Plenty of food and drink kept us going all night.
The food was great, and music and dancing was entertaining. One word of warning, the staff expected way too much audience participation, and for introverts like myself it was extremely ackward at times, but other than that, great experience. One area of improvement, it was unclear pickup time versus start time. They were clear pick up time and start time were not the same, and the start time was clear, but it was unclear and a lot of guess work determining what the actual pick up time was.
We booked this event through our cruise line. The bus took about 20 minutes to get there and we were quickly seated at long tables. (crowded) I would say the room held 100 people. The meal was quickly set out, and was plentiful. Beer and wine included, and they were not stingy with the pours. However, two of us do not drink alcohol. The meal was a Czech dinner. Our friends agreed with us that it was ok, the musicians and dancers were talented. The first half of the show was good and then it got hokey and dragged on. I think we could have had a nice dinner in Prague for less. I would give it a 3.5 if I could.
I really enjoyed this evening of music immensely. The ensemble consisted of two violins, a cembalom (hammered dulcimer), and a lady that alternated between string bass and cello. Two of the members of the group sang as well and another solo singer did lot of the old Czech folk songs. There was also another dance couple that was great. The music was really great. It ranged from folk music Very reminiscent of the Hungarian and Roma music – really beautiful harmonies, to classical as well as favorite songs of the audience members from many different countries represented. You could tell that each musician was a virtuoso in their own right. Various other folk instruments were highlighted such as bagpipes and a kind of alpine horn instrument. They really gave it their all, and put their heart into it, and I’m really glad that I went.
We loved our experience last year so we had to come back again! Fantastic musicians! They even get the audience involved!
What a fun evening with Americans, French, Turks all enjoying typical Polish food (incl. a kebab) and seeing how the wine steward handled his wine shooter (?) and never spilled a drop! Music, dancing all lively and fun. The event was quite a ways out from downtown Prague, and in our case a snafu about the pickup meant we had to walk a long way to the point of contact for the ride. Our hotel THE ART NOUVEAU PALACE certainly WAS in the pickup area as the driver drove by it as he picked up other guests. We were delivered back safely to it. I commend Peter, the driver.
It was a really wonderful evening with traditional Czech music and food. The band and the dancers were amazing! I had a great time and enjoyed the performance very much.
We had a great time, loved it very much!! It was a very nice place. Thank you so much for a great experience. The food was delicious.
What a wonderful, interactive show, we all part of it and danced. Such a lovely and a beautiful restaurant. The food was amazing. A great opportunity for those who wish to taste the authentic Czech culture.
Took my 6 and 13 year old to this dinner show and everyone really enjoyed. The service was excellent all meal courses well organized, lots of wine and beer! The music and dance was excellent, people Get to participate, they also played melodies from All over the world
Impersonal, bad accoustics, poor quality overgooked food. Dissatisfied with this dinner show. Hard to hear or see the performers from the side lines. Everyone sitting at my table wanted to leave before the end of the show. I highly recommend Michals Restaurant Czech Traditional Folk Dance Dinner Show.
Food and entertainment excellent. All four adults in our party enjoyed thought it was a delightful evening.
Our driver picked us up on time and drove quiet a ways out of town to the restaurant for the evening. Dinner was served as soon as we arrived and the music started shortly after that. The food was good considering there were more than 100 people there. The wine & beer was served non stop to the guests. The folk dance was done by two people, a man & a woman, and they did a great job. They also had a girl singer in between the costume changes for the dancers. After the folk dances were over, the musicians encouraged the audience to participate and the evening lasted for a while longer with people dancing & drinking. It was a great fun evening.
Unfortunately we did not get to experience this event. There was a mixup on the pick up location. We waited for 30 min and emailed the company... no response. Despite the miscommunication (both sides admittedly at fault) we were not offered even a partial refund, so we paid $135 for nothing. We believe a compromise was in order.
The service was excellent and the food was decent. The entertainment was a lot of fun. We didn't want the show to end.
Staff was excellent Music , dancing , food excellent Great for all ages we were a family of 8 raging from 14 to 75 Interactive, just a great evening well worth the price .
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening . Although the local food did not appeal to me there was plenty of it. It was the entertainment that made the evening and was worth the cost of admission. There was a wide variety of music, from folk songs to folk dancing to classical. Also the the audience was able to participate with the performers.
It was a fun evening, the lady made it fun by making us participate in dancing etc. But I remember that last time we visited few years ago, the quality amount of meal and the entertainment was better.
A wonderful evening! A family of musicians where the 84-year-old mom delighted us on the cimbalom with incredible dexterity! A great couple of dancers and entertainment that made us participate with humor in the dances, the songs and an ave maria on the cello by the daughter superbly executed!...not to mention a very good meal I highly recommend this evening!
Fast service. Little information about the menu that will be served. Distant location, out of the center.
The food is good and the folklore show is fantastic! People are very sympathetic and empathic.
Great evening, beautiful Mood and warm Welcoming. The right meal. The music, dances and songs were great!
Transportation picked up at the hotel+++ good food Very nice evening Dances songs typical Unusual instruments Beautiful atmosphere
We were picked up from our Airbnb at the scheduled time and received a very warm welcome. We were served an excellent Czech meal that we greatly enjoyed. The wine was unlimited, as promised. The musicians were excellent and very friendly, and the singer was inclusive. She got us to sing and participate. They even made us dance, and the dancers performed beautiful choreographies that were both very funny and full of talent. We had a wonderful evening. Le chauffeur nous a pris en retard et nous avons eu peur de ne pas avoir la soirée. Ensuite, la soirée fût très agréable, l’orchestre et les danseurs formidable. La nourriture excellente et la boisson à volonté.
