You get to experience an easy going trip in an off-road car with a local guide, visit magical places you never thought existed in the Czech Republic and enjoy astonishing views of the varied landscape. After the pick-up at your hotel, take a drive for about 1 hour to reach the tour starting point. Along the way and then all day your breath will be taken away by the stunning lookouts of the volcanoes and distant mountains. You will hardly find a landscape more photogenic than Bohemian Uplands in the Czech Republic. These extinguished volcanoes create a miraculous scenery, you can never get tired of. You'll learn to pan for the famous Bohemian garnets. This stunning deep red coloured mineral is a favourite part of jewellery all around the world. You can take them home with you as an original souvenir. You will head out to small villages with picturesque red roofs and charming churches, drive through the valleys and over the hills, pass by green and yellow flowering fields and grassland with livestock, stop at some of the mysterious medieval castles and soak up the vibes of the real countryside life. Around noon you'll get a to taste a local cuisine in a small countryside gastropub and admire the view over volcanoes and 4 medieval castles straight from the table. Explore Raná, the most popular mountain for paragliders in the Czech Republic, where, if lucky, you can observe rare ground squirrels roaming freely in their natural habitat. Finally, you get to visit a local farm, where you can taste homemade goat cheese and pet the animals. You will learn how the goat cheese is made and what the farmers have to do every day to keep the farm running. You can also buy some of the local products here. The local tour guide and its narration will make your trip unforgettable and unusual experience. He will tell you all there is to know about the life in the Czech countryside and answer all your questions. When you don't have any more of them, the driver will take you back to your hotel. What a nice day out of the city! Martin was a wonderful guide- super knowledgeable, and kept us very entertained.
Martin is an excellent guide! It was only me and I was really excited to pan for garnets. It was a lot of fun. Everything was as described and I appreciated the opportunity to see some small villages after a week on a group tour.
Absolutely one of the best tours of any kind in any place that I’ve taken! I wanted to experience the rural Czech countryside and this was the perfect way to do so. The hotel pickup was easy, timely and my driver Dennis was easy to chat with. Once at our destination, Martin conducted a wonderful, informative and scenic tour of the northern part of the Bohemian countryside. His knowledge of local history and culture from pre-WWII to the present was impressive. Our Mitsubishi Pajero was the perfect vehicle to travel fields and unpaved roads on our way to scenic views, small villages, castle ruins and farms. The lunch was very tasty and the restaurant was cozy and authentic. We even had a view of the countryside through a huge picture window. We actually found lots of Czech garnet and panning for it was both interesting and fun! I’m eager to try one of the other tours they offer next time I’m in the Czech Republic!
It was already our 7th trip with Martin and we all enjoyed it very much again! This time we learned a lot of new information about the Central Bohemian Uplands and experienced it with all our senses. Starting with sight thanks to beautiful views. Everything was blooming and smelling so intensely that we sat down in the grass and listened to Martin's interesting stories. The children were most enthusiastic about panning for Czech garnets. And the whole trip ended with a tasting of local cheeses. I recommend to everyone! Martin is the perfect guide! It is really an authentic experience for children, adults. Simply almost for everyone!
very interesting trip. The guide is very knowledgeable and hardly any question catches him by surprise. he often pulls out some interesting pearl himself. I highly recommend it.
Great opportunity to see some of the countryside and smaller villages, which was a nice change of pace from Prague. We also did garnet mining in a little forest stream and sampled some delicious goat cheese along the way. The scenery was spectacular and Martin is an extremely personable and friendly guide who clearly loves what he does. Do not hesitate to experience this trip, you will not regret it !!
A wonderful afternoon with wonderful people. On a trip to the Ore Mountains, we learned a lot of interesting information about the region where I have lived all my life from the guides who probably know every stone. Big thanks to both!!!
A beautiful trip, through the landscape of the Czech Central Highlands, even to places that are not commonly accessible by off-road vehicles. The guides were amazing, my daughter was thrilled and finally tired ... perfect trip for parents with children.... thanks to everyone from Offroadsafari for a great trip.
A well-organized trip with dedicated guides who know a lot about the history of the region, about industry, about minerals, about plants, about people ... and they will spend the whole day with you as if they were going with their best friends
Wow! This tour was a once-in-a lifetime experience! Both our driver, David, and tour guide, Pavel (Paul) were wonderful. Paul was incredibly knowledgable of the area and on top of that he was funny and very aware of what we wanted to do on the tour. We saw spectacular views of the Bohemian countryside; panned for garnets; ate apricots and wild plums; had an authentic Czech lunch, and to top it all of, hung out with some pretty cool goats while eating LITERALLY the best goat cheese I’ve ever had in my life. This experience was a 10/10. I highly recommend booking with Off-road Safari. You won’t regret it!
Brought some friends and family for this tour as I saw the spectacular photos on the website. Although it was of no fault of the off-road team that the weather was a mood-killer and that we couldn't see the best bohemia had to offer, the service from our guides Petr and Martin were great. They were friendly and helpful, and very accommodating to my 78 year old grandmother who was also on the trip. We were split into 2 vehicles as 1 couldn't fit all 6 of us. I would say this was a pleasant experience outside of the bustling city-life.
It was nice to leave the city and see a different side of Prague. Vlasta our tour guide was great. I think what made it better is that our tour consisted of only the three of us. My wife and I really enjoy the views and the off road experience.
I was absolutely blown away by the tour guide / owner, Martin, and the rest of the crew. He was like an old friend who had been dying to show me his home country. He was patient, knowledgeable, and an awesome photographer who made sure my memories were well captured on film. I was on a solo vacation, so I packed my trip full of activities from TripAdvisor. What a serendipitous find this was! After 2 days of an aggressive urban sightseeing campaign through Prague (beautiful!) and dodging collisions with Chinese tourists with bad eyesight and even worse sense of direction, the serene pace of the beautiful Czech countryside provided much-needed zen. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and would do it again in a heartbeat. EVERYTHING about this tour was thoughtfully arranged and executed. I'd initially received a note from Viator saying bookings are only available in pairs, and I'd only booked for a single ticket. A quick phone call (I got Martin on the first try - no automated answering) and everything was sorted. Martin assured me that he'd have a place for me and answered all my questions. He provided me with his WhatsApp info and made sure all my follow-up concerns were addressed. Martin even sent me a photo of the driver who would pick me up from my hotel. Side note, the driver (Nikolay), was prompt, professional, and somehow simultaneously a really cool guy, which made the journey to and from the tour just fly by. The tour itself was incredible and completely different from anything one would find in Prague. It takes place in the stunning Czech countryside, near the Czech/German border. Martin designed the program to showcase a more innocent aspect of Czech culture, away from the touristy cosmopolitan veneer and that covers Prague. We started with a scenic drive through the countryside, where Martin explained the geological history of the Czech landscape, i.e. volcanic activity and mineral deposits. We then got our hands dirty panning for garnets, which are an iconic Czech token. Don't worry, they're evenly dispersed in the soil so, with patience and good vision (BRING YOUR READING GLASSES if you need them), you're certain to find some. Afterwards, we visited a quaint old church (the youngest sections were from the 1800s), with a cemetery in the back, followed by a local farmer's shop that sold fresh local produce. A delicious lunch with traditional Czech fare featuring beer from a nearby microbrewery in the sun followed. Finally, we get the pièce de résistance: the goats! And cows. Martin brought us to a farm, where we fed apples to a bunch of eager and greedy animals. I'm a city girl, so being swarmed by the goats and cows was just incredible! And when the apples were done, we were treated to a snack of fresh cheese. Perfect! I don't think I've grinned so much in months. The day just flew by - before I knew it, I was on my way back to the city. I really didn't want it to end. If I'm ever back in the Czech Republic, I'm totally taking another tour with Martin. Maybe the wine tasting tour...
One of the best tours that I went on during my recent trip to Prague, Czech Republic. It was outside of Prague in the countryside, and it was one of the best experiences that I had away from the tourism and really getting to see other areas of Czech Republic. On this tour, we had a wonderful lunch at a tiny cottage restaurant, visited the old castle/prison, climbed the mountainside, stopped at a winery, fed the animals and tasted authentic goat cheese from a local farm, saw amazing views from cemeteries, tasted grapes from the winery, and so much more! My tour guide Martin was informative, funny, and a native local from the area making the trip more authentic to things outside of the city. He also took me on a detour and was accommodating to what I wanted to see during the tour. Highly recommend for day outside of Prague, and really seeing Czech Republic for what it is the way locals do. Staff is great and professional!
This trip was amazing! Breathtaking views, great food, knowledgable and friendly tourguide (Martin)and last but not least, great driver (David) who drove us from and back to the hotel. Highly, highly, highly recommend this trip to everyone!!!

9 friends and I took this tour and it exceeded our expectations by far. Kamil and Martin were both amazing in their own way. Between the garnets, the hike, the delicious lunch and the goat farm I don't know what part was my favorite!

My boyfriend and I decided to do this trip on my Birthday while we were visiting Prague, we weren't sure what to expect, but we loved every minute of it! Kamil was our guide and he was extremely knowledgeable, passionate and friendly. He tailored the tour to our abilities; we are used to walking so Kamil took us on several walks up hills where we saw beautiful views. Kamil made the trip fun but relaxed and very informative - he had facts about everything! We felt so welcome and he even bought us some traditional Czech snacks to have on the trip. My favourite part was visiting the Fortress but I also loved the farm! Not to forget that the food at lunchtime was delicious. By the end of the day, it felt like Kamil was our friend, he really did make our day enjoyable. We would definitely have another tour! Also, I'd like to give a shout out to our driver who transported us from and to the hotel; he was very friendly - we had a comfortable ride home and he even offered to drop us off somewhere in the city if we wanted.
I've done a lot of tours but nothing, NOTHING like this before. I give it my highest recommendation and when we return, we will contact Martin to book another tour. First, they pick you up tay our hotel which is SO MUCH BETTER than trying to find your way on your own. The drop-off point is about 2 hours away in the countryside. Then, we meet our guide in this awesome off-roading 4x4 where we climbed hills and visited the countryside. We grabbed lunch in this cozy czech pub, panned for garnets in a local stream, stopped to climb hills for pictures and stopped by a goat farm before the day was over. I've been on a lot of tours and I mostly expected the same sort of thing- memorized content with pre-written jokes, a corporate petting zoo, a sales pitch at a local establishment. NONE OF THAT was true. This was authentic, adventurous and much more like a good friend taking you to his hometown and showing you around for the day. If you want to experience the Czech Republic outside Prague, this is a beautiful way to to it.

Great trip! We saw places we would not see. The guide was awesome. We had a blast!

This was one of the highlights of my trip! First I have to say I was the only one booked for this tour. The operator told me this was the first time there was only one person in a really long time. They could have easily cancelled, especially since it was also a holiday, but they did not and I really appreciated that.

I had a great driver out to the country where I switched over to the Offroad Safari guy. He was fun and really loves the area. I don't want to belabor all the stops as they are in the tour description and I also don't want to take any of the fun out of the little touches/surprises they do. The guide stopped to look at things I was curious about in and was interesting person with a lot of local and historical knowledge. I was interested in WWII and Communism and he had interesting information on both in that area.

I am a foodie so eating is a BIG deal to me. My favorite meal of the whole trip was at the place we ate at on this tour. He said they always go there so you would too if you go. The place was perfect and so was the food. He picked everything at my request and it could not have been better.

This is a low key day. If you love the country, this is for you. Awesome scenery, interesting geographical region, great food with a personable guide is what I experienced. Could not say enough about the most memorable day I had in Northern Bohemia with Offroad Safari!

This trip was really excellent and interesting! It combined a little bit of everything: geology, history, local culture, etc. The countryside of Northern Bohemia really is beautiful, and provides a very different view of Czech life than one gets from the hustle and bustle of Prague. Martin, the guide, is superb--very friendly, speaks English well, and very knowledgeable about the region that he clearly loves. Finally, the lunch that is included is also quite good, with full free choice from an extensive menu at a nice local restaurant including beer!. All in all, an excellent value for a very worthwhile experience.

This tour really was amazing and Tomas was an extraordinary host! He was very informative, personable, and gave us an eye opening experience of the country side in Czech Republic. Thank you so much for the amazing tour and a day of fun to remember!

A great day trip from Prague. Our tour guide Martin was easy to get along with and informative. He drove us everywhere and answered all of our questions. We had a lot of fun and of course the opportunity to drink in Czech style at lunch :

Yesterday we completed the trip "volcanic secrets" and I must say that I am very satisfied. A few years ago, I myself was a frequent guest in the Česká středohoří as a landscape photographer, but I had no idea how many undiscovered things remained here and how many wonderful vistas I had not seen. Martin's professional interpretation was also exemplary and very engaging. I definitely want to take part in other trips, I am waiting as soon as the dates are announced. Zdenek
Majitel Martin Bareš je unikátní průvodce krajinou severních Čech. Rozumí přírodě, geologii i průmyslové historii kraje.
Všem doporučujeme hodně fotit a dělat poznámky. A už teď se těšíme na pokračování
Absolvovali jsme výlet: "ČESKÉ STŘEDOHOŘÍ: SOPEČNÁ TAJEMSTVÍ" bylo úžasné, viděli jsme krásná místa, dozvěděli jsme nové informace a zajímavosti, o kterých jsme ani netušili.
Projeli jsme zapomenutá skoro neprostupná místa i nádherné vyhlídky. Pan průvodce Martin dokázal poutavě vyprávět celou cestu o historii oblasti i novodobých trendech a budoucnosti. Průvodci jsou opravdu profící a znají tuto lokalitu dokonale. Odpoledne jsme porjeli vinice a dokonce jmse i rýžovali český granát. Mohu jen doporučit a určitě se vrátit na další altivity. DYCKY MOST!
