What a delicious, amazing experience! Loved learning about traditional Czech food and techniques as well. Such a relaxing afternoon. Thanks to Brett for a wonderful time.

Itinerary
We are Aida & Bret from Good Mood Food. Authentic, hands-on cooking is what we’re all about — we speak the language of food! We believe food is a perfect way to communicate and connect. It’s a powerful tool to discover people and culture, because food brings us together. Our experiences are guided in a friendly, authentic, and entertaining way. We always cook together, share stories, and talk about rituals and traditions. For us, food is not just a biological need — it’s a cultural and social one. We'll cook in our self-designed Good Food Atelier, located in a 200-year-old building. The kitchen is simply equipped, just like in our own homes — so no need to worry about fancy gadgets that are hard to find when recreating the recipes later. Together, we’ll prepare and cook full traditional Czech menu: a soup or appetizer, a main course with a side dish, and a dessert. You’ll also taste our homemade pickled vegetables and marmalades. Water, tea, coffee, and wine are all included. This experience is always led by one of us — Aida or Bret — and we’re both looking forward to meeting you!

What a great experience cooking and learning with Brett. Authentic experience from start to finish. Enjoyed meeting others in our group and everyone got a chance to participate and help. Good food, good conversation, and a fun time!
An enthusiastic and friendly host with quality ingredients. A fun afternoon learning about Czech food and culture.
This was a fun cooking class, and I learned how to make several Czech dishes. I also learned more about Czech history and the different regions of the country.
Our host was awesome! He was organized, funny, informative and the food was delicious. We had a wonderful experience! Schliebovitz loosened the mood and we all had a good time!
This tour was so much fun. You do just enough making food when compared to wine drinking. We had a terrific group and had lots of laughs. We made beef goulash with mushrooms, potato pancakes and a lovely dessert. Wine was smooth and the slivovice was great too. The host is a former chef and had a relaxed vibe and taught us many things about cooking. He got everyone involved with the process. The dinner was lovely and had lots of laughs with our group. Highly recommend this tour.
Thank you Bret! I learned a lot! I came by myself and it was like a private lesson! Next time I will come with family.
The location where you cook is ancient and so beautifully appointed, and the chef is so fun and engaging. We had the best time with delicious food! Really great value.
This was such a wonderful way to spend our afternoon. Bret was a great instructor who made the cooking class feel friendly and personable. For anyone interested in learning some family history and eating some delicious treats I would highly recommend this tour.
Bret was awesome. The participation in food prep was fun. The history he provided was interesting. The meal was excellent.
Fantastic experience cooking and experiencing traditional Czech dishes! Brett was an excellent host and introduced us to local spirits, wine and flavor combinations that are not common in the USA. In particular the potato/sourkraut pancakes with local cheese and charcuterie, jams etc. were a delight. We had a bit of a local history lesson as well and they were able to accommodate my wife's celiac/gluten free needs. Highly recommend for any visitors looking for a great cooking experience!
We had an amazing experience cooking with Brad! He was so friendly and fun! The food was amazing! Our class was just me and my mom, so we had him all to ourselves. The recipes were authentic, fairly easy, and absolutely delicious! I would highly highly recommend this class! I can’t think of one negative thing about it.
What an absolute pleasure! Brett was fantastic. He really gave us wonderful opportunities to learn his family recipes. We got to work every step of the way through the process. It was such a joy. I would highly recommend this to anyone who would like to learn more about the check culture.
Bret led a wonderful cooking experience for four students total: my wife and me and one other couple. We made potato pancakes, roast duck with cabbage, bread dumplings, and kremroles. He also provided wine, cheese, bread, meats, and jams while we cooked. The class was hands-on, but not too intimidating for beginners like me. We left full of Czech food and Czech culture and history.
This was an amazing experience, and some of the best food in Prague! Come hungry!
Come prepared to eat and enjoy. The menu choices were lovely and easy to prepare. Very accommodating in regards to food allergies or needs. The location was a bit tricky to find. The doorbell is on the right side of a locked alleyway car door. I ended up calling and they sent someone to meet me.
FANTASTIC!❤️ By far the best meal we had in all of Prague .Aida made us feel like we were family and friends visiting for dinner. There were six of us and she made sure all of us had a chance to do the cooking. As it was the day before Thanksgiving, her meal of roasted duck and bread dumplings felt like a Thanksgiving meal. In addition, we made a sauerkraut dish and a plum dessert plus tastings of Slivovitz and plenty of glasses of delicious red wine. We highly recommend a cooking class with Aida.
Mood and Food is located in a wonderful creative area of Prague. You enter through a giant wooden gate and leave all cares and worries behind you. The next several hours you are taken back in time with Aida’s stories and her Grandmas recipes. Aida keeps you very involved in the cooking and conversation. We met several people and everyone was at ease. The food we all made and cooked was exactly as my grandmother used to make. Conversation was very jovial and the wines we had were very good. Having dinner around the table at the end with newly formed friendships was perfect. Thank you Aida for sharing your passion J, C, K
This is an excellent opportunity to learn about both Czech cooking and culture. I would definitely recommend it.
This was a fabulous, educational, and fun experience!! Aida is a gracious host. A great way to learn about Czech food preparation.
We had a perfect afternoon with the gracious and warm Aida. She is a great host and a great teacher. Everyone in our small group had fun and learned a lot about Czech food and culture. At the end we shared a great meal that we made together.
Lots of fun and informative about area history and culture. Dinner was delicious and the chef made us all very comfortable and able to relax and have a good time.
Of all of the things we did in Prague, this was the best experience! Brett was an excellent chef. Our group was small, just one other couple. We went into the basement and spent the entire afternoon drinking wine, doing shots of moonshine, and making delicious Czech food. There were two vegetarians in the group and Brett made to accommodate to our needs. We had two 18-year olds and they had the best time! Make sure you book in advance as they fill up!
This cooking class for the highlight of our trip. Brett was an exceptional host and great with our 10 year olds twins. The meal was delicious and he was incredibly gracious. It’s a must try if you’re going to Praha!
So fun and definitely worth the price. Our host was knowledgeable and engaging. My son learned some new skills. Highly recommend.
Brett was an excellent cooking instructor. He’s smart and funny. We had fun preparing and tasting a nice variety of foods. We made potato pancakes, dumplings, beef (with wine, onion and mushrooms), and cream roll (pastry with merengue). We also tasted sausages, cheeses, jam and bread. We everything was fun, easy and tasty. My favorite was the cream rolls. We chatted about culture, food and history.
I was looking for an authentic experience in Prague that did not feel touristy and this fit the bill. Bret was awesome and so were mu classmates. We made delicious food and it was amazing how simple everything seemed. I will definitely enjoy making these traditional Czech dishes when I return home to Kansas City later this month.
Bret was incredible and so knowledgeable about food and the history of the Czech Republic.. the setting is perfect and we loved every minute that we all shared together .. the food was excellent and I would highly recommend !!
A bit hard to find but worth the effort. Brett is charming and made us feel like family. Brett has an interesting back story on his career and how he came to start this business. Thoroughly enjoyed explanation of difference between Hungarian, soldiers and Czech goulash. Methods used to prepare meal are simple (25 minutes for almost everything) and results delicious and unique. We had potato/sauerkraut pancakes, goulash with bread dumplings and pastry tubes filled with meringue for desert. Yum. A bit pricey for a couple. Perhaps Brett and Aida could offer a discount for families
My husband and I took this cooking class during our stay in Prague. This was one of our favorite parts of the trip. Bret was a great cooking teacher and the food was incredible!
This was an amazing experience, our host Bret was incredible! We learned so much about the history and the culture behind the food we prepared. The meal and experience was top notch. 5 Stars+
Bert was fantastic. This easy going class is informative fun and tasty. A great way to get a little feeling of Czech culture and taste food prepared from handed down recipes. Bert is kind and easy to work with no matter your skill level. In addition to cooking you’ll have the opportunity to visit a speciality shop and get a few tips on what to look for while choosing ingredients for your meal. Delightful conversation good wine and other surprises makes this tour too good to pass up. In an area away from the old town tourist area but easy to get to by metro taxi or Uber.
Bret taught my class with just myself, he was a fantastic host with lots of local knowledge on cuisine and local restaurants. Bret was a great teacher and his English was very good, everything was explained with lots of detail and I can't wait to recreate the recipes at home. The flat was very clean and very tidy with lots of wine and snacks on offer. We made duck breast with a cabbage salad and dumplings with a sweet pastry for dessert, everything was absolutely delicious. There were also various meats, cheeses, pickles, jams and bread to start, all very delicious. A really fantastic experience and would recommend to anyone wanting to experience local Czech cuisine.
I enjoyed the course very much! We had a warm welcome, Bret was super nice and friendly. We prepared a traditional roasted duck with cabbage. We enjoyed bread dumplings and dessert afterward. I recommend this place if you want to have a good time, meet other people, and learn about Czech cuisine :)
It was such a wonderful experience. The host made us feel very welcome and taught us a lot about Czech foods and traditions. I wasn’t sure what exactly to expect out of this experience but it really was much more than what I was hoping for. Thank you so much for our great experience!
Me and my husband had a brilliant time at the cooking class. We were met promptly by Brett at the meeting point and walked to his kitchen where he had every appliance and utensil we could possibly need, plus we started the lesson off with a beautiful glass of wine each. The instructions were very clear and easy to follow, he made sure we each did a little bit of everything. The meal was traditional, simple and delicious! Our host made us feel very at home and welcomed. 5/5 would definitely recommend for anyone who enjoys food and wants to get their hands stuck into traditional chech cuisine.
The whole family had a great time cooking with Bret. Food and drink were tasty and Bret made sure everyone was involved. Recipes were fun to make and location was beautiful.
Amazing! Simply Amazing!! Great food and great instructors. Worth every penny! Would recommend to anyone!
We had such a good time Cooking with Brett. We made, duck, cabbage salad and dumplings with creme filled pastries. It was all delicious. Great experience.
I and my Czech-Heritage daughter-in-law recently attended a cooking class at Good Mood Cooking School. It was an unforgettable experience. The school offers a unique opportunity to dive into the world of old-fashioned Czech cooking. The Owner/Chef was knowledgeable and passionate about their Czech traditions. I highly recommend Good Mood Food. We cannot wait to return. Nancy Ann Strong, Dallas, TX.
Bret was a fantastic host and teacher. The whole experience was so enjoyable for myself and my aunty, who both do a lot of cooking anyway. Bret was accommodating with menu, we tried delicious snacks and wine and learnt a lot from him. We were very grateful he still ran the course for just the two of us and we would both highly recommended visitors to the area to give it a try.
Had such a great time cooking with Bret! You can tell how proud he was to pass along generations of Czech and Moravian recipes and delicacies. He’s also quite funny and engaging which adds to the overall experience. It was just the two of us in the cooking class, which certainly leaned it self to it being a more personal experience. Can’t recommend it enough! So fun and delicious!
Great way to explore our heritage. Bret was a great host - not only with food but also with maps and history. We were immersed in food history for a great experience. Menu, appetizers, ambiance, and food were excellent. Gramma was from 1915 Slovakia and Bret took us there.
My partner and I love to cook and we also love to cook together. When planning our visit to Prague we wanted to experience something authentic. Brett took us through making a Czech meal and he was wonderful to work with and learn from. We especially enjoyed the lesson on flipping food in a frying pan. Thanks for a great experience!
If you're looking for a cooking class, look no further and book! You will have an amazing time! Bret was a wonderful teacher, explaining the menu, recipes, and how the recipes were handed down through the generations. When I found out that we were going to cook rabbit, I was concerned, since it was not my first choice. But I was so wrong! The rabbit dish was excellent! The flavors melded together perfectly! The vegetables were delicious, and the meat so very tender. Bret laughed so hard when I told him that our daughter's ring bearer at her wedding was a rabbit! The communication was excellent. They responded quickly with emails and texts. They were right on time. It was great value for the money, and a wonderful memory forever!
Grandma Recipes evoke memories of warm simple delicious food and this cooking class lived up to it’s name. From the moment Bret met us, we were welcomed as family. The menu we cooked included Potato Pancakes, bread dumplings, cabbage salad and pastry horns filled with delectable meringue cream. Bret also had prepared duck showing us how to roast them in the oven. From the ingredients to the cooking methods that were not overwhelming or complicated, we cooked an elevated comfort food meal our grandmas would be proud of. Highly recommend!
Attending the cooking class at Good Mood Food with Bret was a truly wonderful experience. Bret’s warm hospitality and his passion for both food and the rich history of the Czech Republic shone through in every aspect of the class. Communication with Aida for booking, directions, and accommodating dietary restrictions was extremely helpful. The food we prepared together was phenomenal. Bret’s attention to detail and dedication to using the freshest ingredients were evident in every bite. We can't wait to come back the next time we're in Prague!
This was a wonderful experiance. Everything was so relaxed and easy. Food very deilicious and the host very nice. This was the best thing about our trip to Prague
Highly recommend this experience! Great chef, amazing recipes, so much fun even for non-cooks! A must
After several days of walking through Prague seeing all the beautiful architecture snd history, it was an absolute treat to cook with Brett, talk about food, culture, wines and family feasts. Hands on cooking in a comfortable setting, with other like-minded people. I learned a lot about Czech food and had a delicious dinner with new friends!
