Beautiful church interior with wonderful acoustics. We heard a concert that included a soprano soloist, a trumpeter and organist performing well known pieces by Bach, Vivaldi and Mozart. A lovely, relaxing way to spend an hour and escape the hustle and bustle of touring.

Lovely space, lovely organ, lovely voice. There were a few negatives-wooden pews uncomfortable, Organ playing and singing performed in back choir left which couldn’t be seen. On our night, noisy band playing in Old Square which created distraction. But if you love classic organ/voice music, very enjoyable and memorable.
A very good aucustial experience. Three artists, organ/piano, trumpet, and soprano were very professional. Well worth the time
Great acoustics and exceeded our expectations. Beautiful church, friendly staff, great performance of stringed instruments (5), 1 person who played many different horns, and a vocalist that has an amazing voice.
Lovely concert in a beautiful church. The performance was truly enjoyable. Attended alone and felt comfortable.
Amazing concert with mix of more contemporary pieces as well as beautiful organ music! Central location!
Wonderful evening classical concert! We enjoyed the midday classical concert at Lobkowicz Palace and wanted to try a different venue. This was just as great with different pieces but the organ was spectacular. The church itself is beautiful and the sound filling the room is spectacular. Would definitely recommend for a 1 hour reprieve from the city noise.
Well organized and good music. Good music and no delays _--_-----_-----------------------------------
Beautiful church, beautiful music and vocals. While most of the concert was from the balcony behind us, the musician stepped out on the balconies in the front for a few of the songs and the last four songs was played right in the front.
Mainly played on stereo on loud speakers. False pictures of an orchestra that does not exist. Two guys on a piano and trumpet did a few numbers
Beautiful venue, excellent musicians and singer. The acoustics are sensational. We would have liked a few more well known pieces.
Attending the concert in Saint Nicholas Church was a truly transcendent experience. The stunning architecture and serene atmosphere created the perfect backdrop for a night of beautiful music. As the sound echoed through the historic vaulted ceilings, every note felt amplified in emotion and meaning. The performers delivered with grace and passion, their music blending harmoniously with the church’s natural acoustics. From delicate solos to powerful ensemble pieces, the evening was both spiritually and artistically moving. A deeply memorable performance in a breathtaking setting.
The concert at St. Nicholas Church in Prague was a truly enchanting experience, with the baroque architecture enhancing the rich acoustics of the live classical music. The performers played with precision and emotion, creating an atmosphere that felt both intimate and grand. Surrounded by history and candlelight, the evening was unforgettable and deeply moving.
I closed my eyes and listened to 60 minutes of beautiful music. Different program every night I believe, but the organ, trumpet and soprano were a sublime combination.
The concert in the beautiful St. Nicholas Church was unforgettable. Incredible performances by artists from the National Theatre and Czech Philharmonic filled the space with stunning classical music. I don't usually go to classical concerts, but this was amazing - the beautiful music and stunning baroque setting made it a truly special evening. Definitely worth it!
Went to the concert at St. Nicholas Church with my girlfriend – amazing setting, beautiful music. Really special atmosphere. Perfect way to end the day in Prague. Would definitely recommend.
Beautiful concert! We visited St. Nicholas Church for classical concert during our family trip to Prague and absolutely loved it. The music was stunning and the church itself is breathtaking. Amazing acoustics and atmosphere! Highly recommend for anyone looking to experience a bit culture in a truhly special place!
The orchestra were sat in front of us, visible at all times. Seemed to be decent enough musicians and the programme of music was good. However, the seating was awful. The pews were incredibly uncomfortable, no way could face an hour in them. So, sat in the row of chairs between the pews. Unfortunately, these chairs were about 20 - 30cm lower than the pews seating, so view was compromised.
A wonderful experience for those in interested in classical music. The three performers are so talented. The acoustics in these old churches are phenomenal.
There was no audience experience at all, the performers and organ could have been recorded. No performers were visible. Very very disappointing. Sounded lovely but you would not know it’s a live performance.
The only reason it is getting at least 3 stars is because the performers are wonderful! That being said, they are up in the balcony behind you and you cannot see them performing. If you are expecting to go to a concert and seeing people perform: don’t push your luck.
What a wonderful experience! While some reviews list there is no choir unlike the provided photos, which is true, the concert is still an amazing experience. Live music and a classical singer in a beautiful atmosphere. It lasts one hour exactly! Tip: get there EARLY so you can be close and see the musicians! Overall GREAT experience! We definitely recommend it.
A concert classical expectation is the musician will perform in front of the audience for the appreciation of their talents on instruments and of what the kind of music they play. To not see them perform in person just hearing a musical behind is like listening to a gadget very disappointing. Please inform people about what to expect It is supposed to be a one of a kind experience for our anniversary and the same time a Birthday 😔celebration very sad 😢 The music is all great but experience disappointed.
The experience does not correspond to the photos or description in Tripadvisor. It should be clear in the description that during the experience you don't see the players as they are hidden in the back. It's an auditive experience and not visual. That way, customers would not feel deceived. Otherwise you're just deceiving tourists which is not good for the tourist, the players and ultimately your brand. The space is not heated and it's freezing cold which is not pleasant.
Totally disappointed. We were so looking forward to experiencing some culture in Prague! Didn’t see any of the performers as they were behind us up in the galley so high that we had to look forwards at nothing while listening to music behind us. No, I wouldn’t recommend this experience. There are many churches with concerts. Shop around. We walked out 1/2 way through. Tried to get a refund but there’s no option for disappointment. Don’t waste your money.
Falsely advertised event - suggests one hour concert/performance but actually 9 mins performance and 51 mins listening to pipe music in uncomfortable (although beautiful) church. Avoid - not worth wasting an hour!!
Listening to beautiful music in a historical location. Wonderful selection of music. Beautiful setting!
I always enjoy a classical concert when I am in Prague. This is St. Nicholas Church on Old Town Square. There are steps to climb on entering the church. I booked online and got a very good Senior discount which made the concert half the price of another concert I took in last year. I sat in the pews originally, but then I noticed there were chairs in the center aisle which were fine as I was traveling solo. It gave a better view of the alter where the musicians play. But the view of the musicians is somewhat obstructed due railings around the alter. The sound is so immersive, which to me is the real appeal of these concerts.
The musicians were very good--mezzo, oboist, and organist/pianist. However, we were expecting at least a chamber-sized ensemble that plays close to the original orchestration. Instead, we merely heard organ or oboe/piano versions originals.
The organ music was excellent. The church had amazing architecture and acoustics. But from the photo advertising this concert, we were expecting at least a string quartet, and a choral group. So this was something of a disappointment. The three musicians (one vocalist) were excellent, but did most of their performance from behind the audience from the balcony. At the end they did move to the front of the church where we could see them, and sang a few recognizable songs in English. the most memorable being "think of Me" from "Phantom of the Opera." Again, the musicians were accomplished, but this was not what we were expecting.
Not as expected. Wasn’t what the advert said about the experience. Not upto my expectations for sure.
The view of the church impressive, but unfortunately to hear the organist and the singer, you had to turn your head and even then you wouldn't be able to enjoy and see them. Don't get me wrong, it was beautiful the music, however it was only the last song that they came down and sang in front of us. It's a shame a little camera and projector couldn't be used for us to see them without either having to twist our necks or stare blankly in front of us at nothing.
The photo is misleading. There were only 3 performers. Much of the concert was performed behind the audience at the pipe organ. We saw 3 other church or synagogue concerts in Prague and they were all much better.
Fantastic experience and well worth while however a bit a introduction would have went a long way. The organist and solo singer spent 90% of the concert behind the audience in the upper section of the church. I get this due to the requirement to use the church organ and it wouldn’t have stopped me attending as the music was first class but a little intro to explain would have been much appreciated. Feels a bit weird looking forward when the action is behind you. Still very good performance in a fantastic setting!
This was not at all what we expected. There were 3 people playing instruments and a soloist. However they were all up above and behind us standing next to the pipe organist.. At one point the audience members in the front row turned around and sat on chairs so they could see the performers. The singer and 2 others finally came down to the front for the last 2 pieces
I attended a free afternoon concert at the church. It was excellent. Highly recommend. I had looked at purchasing a ticket for a concert here, but it didn’t work out. This was perfect. Friendly staff.
This was one of two concerts that we booked when we were in Prague. The setting in St Nicolas church gave the music a special atmosphere. The players were from the Royal Czech orchestra and the soprano was from the National theatre so a great performance from them all. They played pieces from Handel, Charpentier, Vivaldi, Bach and many others. Nothing too heavy so it appealed across the board. A lovely way to spend an hour before going out for dinner!
Beautiful concert. Christmas carols around the world inside St Nicholas church in Prague’s old town during Christmas market … simply perfect!
Excellent concert, which we enjoyed a lot. Inside the church it's really nice and the musicians were great.
A very beautiful performance by eight musicians, the extraordinary acoustics in a privileged location. The violinist and the oboist gave us quite a performance. My congratulations for this very beautiful concert.
There are two types of concerts, the 4.30 which is just organ and trumpet quintet (very poor). 19 o'clock seems better.
Very nice performance with trumpet and organ, beautiful alternating pieces of classical music and film music. Church was finely heated
The place very beautiful but at first seemed to be listening to a recording, neither the singer nor the organist was seen, I doubt if they really sang live. Only in the end they "came down"... and the musician played a piano and the singer did two or three songs better, but they did not respond to our expectations and the cost of the concert!!!
Ordered 4 tickets for a concert at St. Nicholas Church in Prague. Unfortunately there are 2 St. Nicholas churches in Prague and no address information on tickets 😡 Obviously we arrived at the fake church and had to order a taxi to change location and arrived 20 minutes late 😡😡 In the future put at least one address on your tickets
