We loved our full day tour to Cesky Krumlov, a super beautiful town in the South Bohemia area of the Czech Republic. We were here in the late fall so only the grounds were open at the castle but we were still able to get to amazing viewpoints of the city. Our lunch in a traditional Czech restaurant was delicious and the town itself was cute with fun shops. We also had a fun tour of the Budvar Brewery and also saw the grounds of the Hluboka Castle; again as it was late in the year it was dark by the time we arrived. Our evening pictures with the castle lit up turned out amazing. We had Peter for our guide and he was absolutely fantastic; kind, personable, patient, funny and absolute wealth of knowledge. There were six of us and we would all highly recommend this tour.

What can I say about the experience? WOW!! Incredible! Peter, our driver and guide was amazing, he was so knowledgeable about the Czech history, castles, brewery, and the Cesky Krumlov. Peter arrived promptly and on time to our hotel to pick us up. We live so far away and are so happy to have done this tour. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!
Michael was absolutely incredible — warm, funny, deeply knowledgeable, thoughtful, flexible, and one of the best guides we’ve ever had. He made our private day trip from Prague to Český Krumlov feel completely personal and perfectly paced, with just the right mix of history, local insight, wandering, photos, good food, and time to simply enjoy where we were. We had such a fantastic day with him that we booked him again before we left Prague. What really sets Michael apart is how naturally he reads the people he’s with. He shared a huge amount of history and context without ever making it feel like a lecture, and very quickly understood that we love learning but don’t want to be rushed from sight to sight. Everything felt relaxed, engaging, and genuinely fun. Beyond being an excellent guide, Michael is just a lovely person — kind, hospitable, funny, and full of great local advice that made the rest of our trip better too. By the end of the day, it felt less like taking a tour and more like exploring with a very knowledgeable local friend. Český Krumlov was already going to be special, but Michael made it one of the highlights of our entire Czech Republic trip. Truly exceptional — five enthusiastic stars from us!
We had the absolute best guide we have ever had—truly, EVER! His name was Peter, and he was incredibly friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. His thoughtfulness and attentiveness to my needs and mobility situation were exceptional and meant so much to me. On top of that, Český Krumlov was absolutely spectacular! Peter made the entire experience even more memorable, and I cannot recommend him highly enough.
Fantastic trip with lots of information and nice conversations along the way. Highly recommend Michal for allowing us time to visit a few more places on the way back.
Wonderful in all respects! Michal was extremely knowledgable and went out of his way to make it a truly memorable experience.
Amazing day tour out of Prague, a very beautiful town. Our tour guide was amazing, very helpful and informative.
This was one of the best day trips I’ve ever booked. Our guide Michal was so knowledgeable and helpful. My 12 year old daughter and I appreciated that we could tailor the day based on our interests and energy levels. A truly memorable experience!
Michal was a great tour guide and a very caring person. He gave great insights on the culture and history of Cesky Krumlov, and was really accommodating when we wanted to stay a bit longer during the end to walk around the town. He was open to other questions relating to the town and was very knowledgeable. He also offered us a chance to visit a brewery and try a local beer. We had a wonderful private tour with Michal who went above and beyond. We would 100% recommend this tour with Michal.

The tour was wonderful. It was beautiful. The town was lovely. Our tour guide was exceptional. He was very knowledgeable and took his time explaining everything. He gave us free time to explore on our. Just a wonderful day.
Michal was great! Very knowledgeable & friendly. Spoke perfect English which is so helpful on trips in foreign countries. Beautiful location. So glad we add this tour to our trip. It was great hearing the history and seeing the countryside and village.
Petr was an excellent guide to chesky krumlov. We had a fantastic trip and he made the trip for my family and I even better. I highly recommend him
Michel was an absolutely awesome and engaging tour guide! From the very beginning, he made everyone feel comfortable and welcomed. He was incredibly easy to talk to, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience both fun and informative. The tour was very well organized, and you could tell he truly cared about making sure everyone had a great time and learned a lot throughout the day. The transportation was also excellent — the van was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, which made the travel relaxing and enjoyable. Český Krumlov itself was absolutely breathtaking and truly felt like stepping straight into a fairytale. Every street, building, and view was stunning. This city is an absolute must-see if you are visiting the Czech Republic. I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone and everyone. Between the incredible destination and Michel’s outstanding guidance, it was easily one of the highlights of our trip!
This private excursion for 6 of us was everything that we had dreamed of and more! Our guide was super informative and flexible. When we wanted to stay longer in Cesky Krumlov and forgo another stop, he made it happen. The cute historic restaurant at which we had luch by the river was just perfect! He even found a bakery for us when we stopped in Pisek to view the oldest bridge in the country. It was a perfect day!
This tour was one of the highlights of our entire trip. Český Krumlov is stunning — from the fairytale-like castle to the winding streets, the breathtaking views, the delicious local food, and the charming Christmas market, every part of the town felt magical. Our guide, Michal, made the experience unforgettable. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and customized the day exactly to our interests. The itinerary was perfectly paced, and we never felt rushed. Lunch and snacks were great, and the private transport made everything easy and relaxing. If you’re visiting Prague, this tour is an absolute must. It’s the perfect way to explore Český Krumlov with a guide who genuinely loves what he does. 10/10 — highly recommend!
This was our second day trip with Michal in as many days. I highly recommend booking with him, he provides a wealth of knowledge and always tailors his trips to your preference. We hope to come back and will absolutely book another day trip with Michal if we do!
Our driver/guide, Michal was absolutely wonderful. We had a relaxing drive out to Cesky Krumlov, while Michal described some of the sites we passed as well a brief education of the significance and history. The castle and the grounds were beautiful followed by a traditional lunch at a restaurant in a medievil house. We had some time on our own to explore this enchanting little village before heading to our next stop. For us, it was a visit to the fairy tale castle of Karlstejn. Michal was highly knowable and we enjoyed hearing about the history of the Czech Republic. We would highly recommend this trip for couples or for families.
We had a fantastic day with Michal! He picked us up at our hotel in a beautiful mercedes van, delighted us with interesting stories and facts about his country during our 2 hour drive, and then continued with a terrific history lesson during our visit in Cesky Krumlov. He had a wonderful rustic lunch spot picked out where we dined right beside the river. Bonus side trips on the way back to Prague! Very knowledgeable , fun, reliable. Thank you Michal! From your Calgary friends
This was an absolutely outstanding tour! Michal is a fantastic tour guide. He met us at our hotel to pick us up, and made everything seamless along the way. Michal has a ton of knowledge about everything Czech and was full of information about Cesky Krumlov during the tour there...and also was a great source of information about other things for us to do. During the trip to Cesky Krumlov we toured all the key sites in town. Michal gave us the full story walking us around the castle before the official tour, the town, and other great spots in town for viewing. We had as much time as we wanted at each site, and after lunch had time to ourselves for shopping. Michal also took us to a great place for lunch that was filled with locals off the beaten path of the tourist groups. Michal parked on the top of the hill as we started an picked us up at the bottom, making it easy to navigate, especially since I have some mobility challenges. We had optional stops at other locations, but we were at the end of two weeks of touring and opted to get back to the hotel a little early. Michal also made sure to take pictures of us at the vista points so we had everything we needed. I highly recommend this trip with Michal, and any other one you see with him. You will not regret it!
This has been the most amazing tour, Michal picked us up from our Hotel promptly and provided an incredible services. Very knowledgeable and kind. We highly recommend this tour, it was AMAZING!

Cesky was a beautiful town and our experience was made more memorable because of our guide Michal. He was helpful, attentive, flexible and knowledgeable. He knew the answers to our questions even if they were not Cesky related, hehehehe. As we had extra time, Michal even brought us to the Czech Bud distillery and even brought us to a shopping mall for our last minute shopping (we were already going home the next day).
Michal is an outstanding guide, who is knowledgeable, personable, and flexible. Communication via WhatsApp was great, and he was more than willing to personalize the trip based on our needs, interests, and abilities. Pick up was at our Prague Hotel, in a clean and comfortable van. Since the trip from Prague was more than 2 hours each way, we had lots of time to get to know Michal and hear about his family and life in Czechia, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Cesky Krumlov is a lovely town, and Michal knew all of the best places to take photos and shared its interesting history. Tours within the Castle itself are required to be given by a separate guide in small groups, which was fine. Lunch by the water was charming and fun. On the way back to Prague, he offered the option to see some sites along the way, and my husband, a abandoned castle aficionado, enjoyed the opportunity for a short hike with Michal to view the ruins, while I sipped a coffee in the small town.
Our family had a wonderful day trip to Cesky Krumlov with Michal. He was informative, personable, and accommodating, giving us options for our activities and recommendations for dining. Having done many private day tours with different guides in Europe, we are so happy we chose this tour and this guide in particular. Cesky Krumlov is scenic and charming. The stop at Budvar to learn more about the original Budweiser beer was an added bonus. Michal is one of the best guides we’ve been fortunate enough to travel with and we highly recommend him and this tour. Well worth the investment in our Czech education!
Michal took us on a full day tour to Cesky Krumlov. Prior to the date of our tour, he was very communicative via WhatsApp and let us customize our trip. On the day of our tour, he picked us up very promptly at the agreed to time in a large very comfortable vehicle. His English was superb. During our trip, he shared very in-depth knowledge of Czech history and pointed out key historical landmarks along the way. Actually, one of the museums Michal recommended became a favorite for my husband (the paratrooper museum). He also recommended restaurants and bakeries for the rest of our trip. He encouraged us to speak up if we wanted to make any unplanned stops - which we took him up on to explore another castle. Overall, the day was lovely and I could not recommend Michal more.
This day trip was wonderful. Beautiful scenery and the town was charming. Our guide Michal was very informative and willing to tailor the day to our interests. Would definitely recommend this day trip as well as this company.
Being a fan of Kingdom Come Deliverance, we stopped at several game locations on the way the Cesky Krumlov. Our guide, Michal, did an awesome job of sorting out the logistics, communicating options, and making sure we had a really fun day exploring Bohemia. I highly recommend his company if you’re looking for a companion for side quests from Prague.
What a fantastic day with Michal. Our guide was really knowledgeable and attentive to us. Communication was good and nothing was a problem to Michal. The castle was not open as it was winter hours, so maybe this should have been advertised as such by Viator. Otherwise great!
We took the tour with Michal. Right from the start we were happy His Mercedes Van was in meticulous condition. He was very friendly and in a very good mood. Michal was very personable and very knowledgeable as he educated us throughout the trip. He had wonderful insights at the Castle and throughout the trip. He picked a great spot for lunch in the town of Cesky Krumlov. We also visited Budvar and a Chateau on the way back to Prague. He was proactive in making sure we were comfortable and having a good time. Could not have been better.
We booked this tour with Michal (as well as the Kutna Hora tour) based on previous reviews. Michal certainly met the expectations we had because of the previous reviews. He is professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and personable. We had another great day with him at Cesky Krumlov. We highly recommend him!
A great day out for my family with great scenery and castle tour made even more interesting and entertaining by our guide Michal from Real Prague Tours. He was very knowledgeable about Cesky Krumlov and Czech Republic, but also extremely interested in where we came from and our own culture. Michal was very flexible to meet our needs. Lunch of rabbit and pheasant (amongst other things) at a very picturesque restaurant washed down with a traditional Pilsner really hit the spot.
This excursion with Michal was everything we hoped it would be and so much more. As others have said, Michal immediately feels like an old friend, so comfortable and easy to talk to. He is thoughtful, kind and accommodating, and makes every effort to tailor your trip to your specific interests. Hluboká Chateau turned out to be our favorite castle out of all we visited over two weeks, a perfect stop along the way. We chose to spend the night in Cesky Krumlov and Michal was so very helpful in coordinating with us for this change to the itinerary and transporting our luggage while we toured the castle. He posseses a wealth of knowledge surrounding Czech culture, history and current events, and he is happy to chat or drive quietly according to your preference. The traditional Czech lunch along the river was delicious and he provided excellent recommendations for the remainder of our time in Cesky Krumlov. You really cannot ask for a better tour guide than Michal. Time spent in his company was absolutely the highlight of our whole trip!
Michal was well organised and extremely informative. The entire day was very relaxed and he took time to understand our priorities and arranged the day accordingly. I highly recommend the tour and the tour operator.
Michal was a wonderful guide. The weather was not the greatest but the trip was fabulous. We were able to customize the trip to our liking and Michal did the rest. The van was very comfortable. It was our last day in Europe as part of a river cruise so a great ending.
We had the pleasure of touring Cesky Krumlov, Hluboka Nad Vltavou Castle, and the beautiful town of Pisek with Michal November 8, 2023. Michal is a wonderful guide and person to share the day with. Having a private tour with him was an excellent experience and he felt like a knowledgeable old friend shortly after we met. We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel in a very comfortable and clean van and Michal had usb cords to charge our devices on hand. As we were walking to Michal’s van we mentioned we would be missing breakfast at the hotel (he picked us up at 7 and the hotel restaurant opened at 7) and he immediately offered to take us somewhere for breakfast. We declined the breakfast offer so our first stop was Hluboka Nad Vltavou Castle where we walked the gardens and took in great views while Michal provided us with the history of the castle, family and town. The walk up to the castle was steep, but worth the effort as we were amazed by the beauty of the grounds and castle. We had spent just under two weeks walking many miles on cobblestoned streets and sidewalks in other countries before our visit to the Czech Republic and our feet and knees were sore. But Michal was ever so patient and matched our pace. On our way back down to Michal’s vehicle we stopped at a bakery as Michal said we had to try a kolacek - yummy! After a few years of waiting, I was excited to finally visit Cesky Krumlov and I was not disappointed! Michal communicated with me after I booked the tour to make sure I knew due to the time of the year, the interior of Cesky Krumlov Castle would not be open for viewing and to let me know of the options available for the tour in addition to Cesky Krumlov. I told him of my love of photography and he made sure our tour included great scenic spots. We climbed the 162 steps to the castle tower which is a definite must do for great photos if you’re physically able! The town is truly charming. I think we visited at the right time as it wasn’t crowded as I imagine it is during the summer, and the weather was beautiful as the town. Michal let us select the restaurant for lunch in Cesky Krumlov. We chose the Two Mary Restaurant (U Dwau Maryi on Tripadvisor) and the food was delicious and we were able to sit outside on the terrace to enjoy a beautiful view of the river. The drive through the Czech countryside was very relaxing and beautiful. I highly suggest a visit to Pisek be included in your tour as it’s a charming town without an influx of tourists. We had such a great and relaxing day, we decided we will visit Prague for a third time sometime in the future to take another tour or two with Michal. Thank you Michal for an amazing day!
Absolutely wonderful day. Michal was a great guide - went out of his way to assist us with a particular interest as well as very knowledgeable in the history of the town. This was the best tour of our three week trip! Highly recommend.
After reading other reviews I cannot add another positive comment that hasn’t been already stated. Michael was incredible. We booked a tour to Cesky Krumlov from Prague. He met us at the hotel right on time and as we boarded the van he started explaining everything we were going to do for the day. His polite demeanor made him a joy to be with and his knowledge of the local history was simply amazing. We have already talked about planning another tour with him at the helm.
We invented a private one-day tour to Cesky Krumlov AND the monastery at Sazava (very cool for fans of the video game Kingdom Come). Michel made this happen! His van was very comfortable, and Michel was terrific with information, flexibility and personality. He helped plan stops for breakfast and lunch. He also handled tickets needed. He has intimate knowledge of Cesky and frankly all around Praha. HIGHLY recommended!
Michal was very knowledgeable, extremely accommodating and a pleasure to accompany. Enjoyed stop at local bakery and eating traditional Czech food.
I booked this tour hoping that we could customize it and Michal did not disappoint! We exchanged several emails to make it a perfect day. Michal had several great suggestions for fitting everything in, including lengthening the trip and ordering ahead so that when we arrived at his favorite restaurant our food was ready. We wanted to see the baroque theater and the main castle, so Michal arranged for two tours at Cesky Krumlov castle. They were both great. We then enjoyed a delicious lunch, walked around the town, and stopped at Konopiste castle for another wonderful tour on our way back to Prague. The 11-hour day flew by, since Michal is very engaging, friendly, knowledgeable, and fun to talk to. The following day we took another tour with Michal to Kutna Hora, which was equally wonderful. Both tours were definite highlights of our time in the Czech Republic. I highly recommend taking tours with Michal!
We enjoyed the trip and had a really good guide named Michel. He let us set the pace for the day and was knowledgeable about the history and sights. Our lunch was at a Czech restaurant and we got to try local food. We would definitely recommend him and the tour.
Perfection! Michal is everything you want in a tour guide. You want history, religion or detailed architecture knowledge? He's got it. Life and culture in Czech Republic? He's got it. A tour showing you all the cool locations in your favorite action films? He's got it. But mostly Michal is a great guy you want to spend the day with learning about his country. Safe and comfortable driver, Personable and interesting .and flexible if you want to plan your day on the fly. We initially booked two tours with Michal, one a walking tour of Prague and then a full day trip to Cesky Krumlov (gorgeous). Both days were fabulous site seeing, getting meals and snacks etc. His restaurant recommendations were honest and excellent, and we were never taken to tourist traps. Things were so good in fact we decided to book a 3rd trip a few days later to see Kutna Hora (also very cool). We've been lucky enough to travel to many wonderful places and we consider Michal one of the best guides we've ever had. We recommend without hesitation for families, couples, seniors, etc. You wont regret spending the day with Michal.
I cannot emphasize enough how much my mother and I loved this trip with Michel! He was an excellent guide who was very knowledgeable and answered all questions. He kept the pace great for my mother, who has some trouble with vision and walking, and was so patient. It can sometimes be nerve wracking to spend the day with someone you’ve never met before but Michel immediately put us at ease, and it felt like we were talking with an old friend within the first ten minutes. We have been traveling across Europe for fifteen days, and this tour was our last one—and what a very high note to end on! One of the best by far. Don’t hesitate to book this tour—spending the day looking at castles, exploring a medieval city, and viewing the beautiful Czech countryside is one of the best things we did on our trip, and Michel was the best!!
Michal is simply superb at what he does. My friend and I enjoyed Michal’s company and appreciated his capacities to educate and guide us so much that we added two more trips with Michal. Michal drove us from Prague to Cezky Krumlov along the way giving us so much information to ground us in our visit not only to CK but also to the Czech Republic. Michal is knowledgeable, no doubt, but he is also personable, accommodating, and wonderful to spend time with. Michal has thought of everything for this trip—bathroom stops, wonderful lunch, history of the town and castle. We could not have been happier with this tour and with Michal. The personal touches are what make such a trip extraordinary. Highly recommend!!
We couldn’t have asked for a better, more accommodating guide! Michal personalized our day around several castles we were interested in seeing in addition to Cesky Krumlov and treated us to an amazing traditional Czech lunch on the Vltava River. His knowledge of Czech history and the various sites we visited coupled with his genuine warmth and kindness made for such an exceptional experience, that we booked two additional tours with him over the next two days. The best days we spent in Prague were with Michal!
We enjoyed our private Cesky Krumlov tour with Michal! Michal picked us up from our hotel in Prague and drove us to Cesky Krumov and along the way gave us all the history, information, etc we needed to enjoy our trip. The castle tour, walk through the town and the lunch was all very enjoyable. We took the optional trip on the way back to Hluboka chateau, which was a great way to end the tour. If you are visiting Prague and want to take a trip to Cesky Krumlov, don't hesitate to book with Michal.
Michal, our guide, was outstanding. Excellent English; very knowledgeable; excellent driver. Best tour guide going.
Michal was a perfect host on our drive to and tour of Chesky Krumlov. On e booked I exchanged a few emails with Michal to set up the tour for us including the pick up from our hotel in Prague. He is so knowledgable and friendly and he conducts the tour almost as a friend, rather than a guide with a checklist of things to tick off. The castle tour is very informative and done by a local expert while Michal waited outside for us. After the castle tour, Michal took us to a lovely restaurant by the river for lUnch. We then had a walk around the town and Michal left us to wander while he brought the car to a convenient pick up spot. We added in a quick visit to Hluboka Chateau on the return journey, which complemented the visit to Castle earlier. I would highly recommend taking any tour with Michal
We had a wonderful trip to Cesky Krumlov from Prague with Michal. He was very knowledgeable about our destination as well as the Czech people and their history. A fun and memorable day.
