This was an excellent day trip from Prague. Saw incredibly beautiful countryside, a wonderful hike, excellent lunch and good local beer. All done by our caring and knowledgeable driver and guide Petr. We learned so much about this lovely country and its people. Well worth it.

Itinerary
Your tour starts at 8:30am by complimentary pick up in your hotel/accommodation in Prague center and direct transfer to Bohemian Paradise (Cesky raj). We use comfortable seven-seat a/c vans, so the group is always pretty small. English speaking experienced local guide will stay for all the day with you.
Your first stop will be by the medieval castle Kost from 14th century. We will take a short walk around the castle and lake.
Then you will move to Prachov Rocks, amazing sandstone rocky area with high towers and cliffs, dark narrow passages and romantic viewpoints. You will spend 2 hours here and visit all the most attractive, relaxing and quiet natural places. After Prachov Rocks walk you will move to cozy local restaurant for an á la carte lunch. You will choose from wide range of local meals - meat, poultry, fish, vegetable salads, home-made pasta. Including options for vegetarians/vegans/celiacs.
In the afternoon you will take a short walk in one more rocky place in Bohemian Paradise - now we will not tell you where, but it is off the beaten track and it is so charming place. This tour is all inclusive, no extra charges. This tour is suitable also for children (they love stones and rocks). Just please note that there are some stairs to reach the tops of viewpoints, so comfortable shoes are recommended.

Everything is wonderful. Reasonable price, including tickets, lunch, snacks and drinks. We saw the beautiful view of Bohemian paradise with Tom. Tom人很热情,耐心地讲解,very knowledgeable, accommodating. 旅游用时很合理。
Tom was a fabulous tour guide. Communicated well, comfortable vehicle, area expert. Very friendly and knowledgeable. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Views were spectacular and food was very good. Highly recommend.
Absolutely amazing. Tom made the day interesting and at the same time adjusted the itinerary to our specific needs. He helped us find some off the beaten path family heritage that was extremely appreciated and interesting.
Get out of the city and explore the beautiful countryside! We saw castles, lovely rock formations, and had a delicious meal. Tom, our guide, was friendly, informative, and ever so patient. From pick up to drop off this was a wonderful experience. Be aware that this tour is not for anyone with mobility issues. There are lots of stairs and rough terrain. The views are totally worth it, if you are able!
We had a wonderful day with Tomaz exploring the unique sandstone geology and landscape of the Bohemian Paradise. We also saw some of the castles and countryside of the area. He took us to lunch to a village pub which had superb food and good Czech beer. In total 10/10.
The tour is amazing with stunning view. Tom is a professional tour guide, he told us a lot about the history and natural things, the lunch arranged was tasty as well, so I would like to give him 100 marks
Tom was a great tour guide! The hike and sights were amazing! Stopped a a very local place to eat and drink and the food was amazing. The place was super cute and we were all glad to have this experience! Would recommend! Thanks for all of your knowledge, time and recommendations!
We had an amazing experience on this excursion and would highly recommend it! We were picked up in a comfortable van and received a bottle of water at the start. The day was perfectly planned — first, we visited a beautiful castle, then drove to a stunning area with a forest and huge rock formations, where we went on a scenic hike. Afterwards, we enjoyed a delicious lunch, followed by another short hike in a different location. Throughout the day, there were bathroom breaks, and we also got some snacks, which was a nice touch. A special thank you to Tom, our guide, who was very friendly, knowledgeable, and made the day even more enjoyable. This was the highlight of our trip to Prague — we all love nature, and this day was the perfect mix of adventure, relaxation, and great company. Highly recommended!
All thanks and kudos go from me and my husband to Tomas, our guide on the individual trip to Bohemian Paradise in mid April 2025. Helped by perfect weather we had an unforgettable day of walking Prachov rocks, best air quality ever and interesting and engaging conversations about recent and not history, nature, modern society etc. We did green trail -moderate distance for 2.5 hours in Prachov rocks, Cost castle surroundings and lunch in the excellent restaurant he knew. The last stop gem was an abandoned apartment formed in the rock near the castle. Highly recommend Tomas as a local guide for a day nature escape from Prague. Visited on another day trip Saxon Switzerland, seemed less impressive than our journey with Tomas.
What a perfect day this was , I’d done some research on the Prague area and this tour stood out above the rest , I was a little apprehensive because of the time of year and wether it would affect any part of the experience , I emailed Tom beforehand ( several times ) about any concerns , he always replied with friendly and prompt emails , this soon put my mind at ease , I needn’t of worried at all , Feb is the perfect time to visit , we dressed for the frosty start , we had Tom all to ourselves as it was out of season , we travelled in his comfy people carrier about an hour out of Prague , first stop a beautiful old castle , we had already been given a run down on how the day would progress and what to expect , this tour did not disappoint , I’m so glad I booked it , the rocks were just as beautiful as I’d hoped , Tom always guided us around the parks at our pace , I never felt rushed ,and he was always explaining areas , pointing out various points of interest , wether it be about the nature or the history of the park we was in , when we reached the top of one lookout , he produced a flask of hot tea and honey( the honey made by a close friend ) , and coffee , that felt a bit special warming up to a delicious treat 😋 after the first park we headed to a traditional village pub for lunch , once again Tom explains the menu ( although it is in English as well ) and after a little about each dish we chose traditional Czech cuisine , you can order a soup and main and a drink , this is all in the cost of the tour , another thing you don’t have to think about 🙂 after a leisurely lunch ( again we are not rushed ) we head to the final destination , and once again we are taken back by the beauty of the area , we was lucky to get Tom to ourselves , and we hardly see any other people , like I said Feb turned out to be a great time to visit, this is Toms business and his passion and knowledge of this country clearly shine through , I fired a lot of Questions about various things throughout the day , I learnt so much , this tour was truly a fantastic end to our four day trip in Prague .Written by Nicola risbridger ( the wife )
Absolutely amazing tour, we can’t recommend it enough! This was a wonderful nature focused break from our stay in Prague.
Seeing the site from all the different trails was awe inspiring. There’s an incredible amount of beauty and a feeling of a very special (some might say spiritual) place.
This was an amazing trip. This area is a short drive from Prague, so we were able to spend most of the day hiking. Tom organized it really well and the day was relaxing and never rushed. It was great to get away from the crowds of the city and enjoy this beautiful area. We had lunch at a lovely restaurant. The tour was a good value and I highly recommend this day trip!
We had an absolutely amazing day on this tour with Tom! A few days prior we had visited the Bohemian and Saxon Switzerland National Parks so thought that the landscape on this tour might be similar, but boy were we wrong! The national parks and walks that Tom took us on very different to what we had seen previously and possibly even more beautiful! The sandstone columns/pillars are incredibly unique and we loved being able to walk along the trails at a comfortable pace and have time to snap some photos. The parks were quiet and not overcrowded which made the day very relaxing. The restaurant that Tom took us to for lunch was delicious and had great gluten free options. I highly recommend this tour if you're wanting to explore some of Czechias natural beauty!
An amazing day out exploring these beautiful rocks with an excellent guide, who knows this paradise as he himself is from the region so he knows it inside out! He's very informative, polite and very well spoken English. This was an excellent day, hiking around the rocks, lunch, visiting a typical village and Kost castle. A tour worth every penny! Thank you very much Tom, well done.
I don't always wrute reviews, but this tour is one of the best ever day trips I have ever joined. Fantastic guide. Punctual pick-up. Friendly. Knowledgeable on the history of formation of rocks and its uniqueness. Excellent choices of routes and time-control. Traditional restaurant with classic czech cuisines. Would definitely recommend to whoever loves the nature of Czech
We had such a brilliant day with Tom (what a nice guy) it was very different to any landscape we have previously encountered and we have travelled all over the world! If you have a free day we would highly recommend seeing the local countryside. The lunch place is amazing! Superb local food in a local pub. Brilliant.
This is a fantastic tour to get out of Prague and see some smaller villages and nature. Hrad Kost is an interesting castle to see. The sandstone rocks of Český Ráj are really awesome and the paths take you up close and right through the rocks. The afternoon hike was great as it was very quiet with few people, making for a nice break from busy Prague. Tom was a really great guide, providing a lot of interesting information about the natural formations and about hiking in general around the Czech Republic. Highly recommend this tour!
A worthy experience to really walk into a natural treasure! The hiking is relax and those cracks we passing through brings us sort of adventurous feeling. Tom is experienced, on-time and responsive to our requirements. We also enjoy very much the berry hunting section, having fun all along the path to the viewpoint. 風景很美,相比之下整個行程算是輕鬆,不用攀山涉水真是太好了 XD 沿途景色變化很多,不怕行得悶,非常推薦走一次喔
Tomas took over the tour when our scheduled tour guide was injured. Although our trip was postponed by one day, Tomas was very accommodating and altered the timings of the trip so we would still be back in Prague in time for our train home. He was excellent company throughout the trip. The Cesky Raj landscape was stunning and we also went to a secluded restaurant for lunch which had a lovely garden area. Thoroughly recommend booking this tour.
Excellent experience with Tomas, who was born and raised in the region. We had a mix of old young and in between in our group and the trip worked for all of us. The area is spectacular. Highly recommend.
Local guide with interesting stories, could answer al our questions and was good for a fun conversation. We saw all there was to see on the route, he took us to all the beautiful picuture sport. Lunch was delicious at a local restaurant. The drive was smooth and we did a nice detour past a small village and a castle witch were nice to see. Overall a really nice experience.
Tomáš was an excellent tourguide, the trip was very nice with beautiful forest scenery. The restaurant we visited had great food and I would definately recommend the tour to friends and family.
Cancelled our tour 9 hours before . We were unable to obtain an alternative tour . Ruined our holiday . Very unreliable . Would not recommend .
Thomas was on time and a great guide well versed. I saw some amazing scenery very similar to Bryce Canyon in Utah, but greener.
If you don't do anything else in Prague, you have to do this. Tom is one of the most wonderful tour guides I have ever met. He is extremely knowledgeable about Czech history, culture and people. He taught us a few Czech words along the way! He is friendly, easy to talk to, and let us take our time through the experience. He knew all of the good spots for pictures and combined the best lookouts from all of the trails at the Bohemian Paradise. He brought us some coffee and tea in a small thermos to drink at the top lookout spots! The sandstone formations themselves are breathtakingly beautiful, they are a one of a kind. The hike is an easy to medium level. Tom then took us to a fantastic lunch spot in a small town a few minutes away from the rocks. This is a small restaurant with absolutely delicious food, some of which is traditional Czech cuisine. I cannot recommend this tour enough.
Brilliant day, enjoyed very much by both mum and daughter. Tomas was very knowledgeable. Lunch was delicious. I would thoroughly recommend this trip
This may have been the highlight to our trip to Czech Republic. Our small group was visiting Prague and were looking for something to do outside of the city, and this was a great choice. A big thanks to our tour guide Tom, who made the trip enjoyable with his great attitude and knowledge of the area. We saw some amazing geological features that we truly didn't expect to see, got to stretch our legs a bit, and at the end of the trip we had a great meal at an intimate pub in a nearby village. Honestly one of the best meals we during our entire trip. The whole day was fantastic, and highly recommended. Thank you again, Tom!
Fantastic day tour - short distance outside of beautiful Prague but difficult to go on your own. Breathtaking views and Tom is an experienced local guide who made us feel at home. Spectacular nature and easy walks which our children (9 and 11) successful completed with enthusiasm. Lunch was lovely too.
Cesky Raj was on our must-visit list but we weren't sure how to do it. The area is quite spread out with very little public transit, and we were not planning to rent a car. Enter Tom and Green Zebra Tours. Tom picked us up at our front door and after a friendly introduction whisked us out to the countryside. He was engaging and friendly, and gave a nice clear explanation of where we were headed and what we would see. We made a handful of stops to marvel at castles, navigate enormous rock formations, grab lunch at a great little restaurant, and soak in some incredible vistas. We're avid hikers so we know a good view when we see one. We had plenty of time to spend at our own pace in these incredible natural spaces, and Tom's local knowledge was indispensable (we're pretty sure he knows every rock by heart). This tour was not strenuous by any means - we did it all in running shoes - but we were able to completely escape the busy feeling of the city and reached some places that felt like true backcountry. We can recommend this tour with absolutely no hesitation, we are so glad that we found Green Zebra! Do yourself a favour and book it.
Me and my husband went to the bohemian paradise. Tom was our guide. He picked us up at our hotel on time and there we went. He is a super nice guy. He knows a lot about the region. After we visited the castle and went for our first hike, he took us to a really nice restaurant, tasty food. Then we continued to the second part of the hike. The place is very beautiful. Green zebra also contributes to maintain the bohemian paradise by planting one tree for each client he takes there. This is super important. Thanks a lot Tom for a really fun day! I absolutely recommend this tour.
This adventure is excellent! Our first stop was to Kost castle, where we got to look around the grounds and marvel in the beauty of this well reserved castle. The bohemian paradise national park is truely breathtaking. Lunch in the cute little village was fantastic with friendly staff who are willing to cater for dietary requirements. The behind the scenes brewery tour was informational with the beer is one of the best Czech has to offer! The best part of the adventure was our guide, Tom, who was honestly the friendliest person we have had the pleasure of meeting. We especially love how some of the proceeds of this tour goes towards helping to preserve the national park and we now have a tree planted in our honour. Well done Green Zebra Tours! Honestly I can’t recommend this tour enough! Truely outstanding.
if you visit Prague and have more than a couple days you cheat yourself if you don't visit the countryside and the Bohemian Paradise. Tomas our tour guide was awesome. We're from the US and my 3 sons and I plus a family fiend spent the day seeing sights that are truly majestic. We loved Prague but when I asked my sons ( in their 20's) what was the favorite part, it was this trip. They kept insisting I write a review on this trip so others would know. Now I need to come back here with my wife, it was truly spectacular.
I consider myself to be an active pensioner and went on this trip with my son who is in his early thirties. The whole thing was a very pleasant surpise. We had approached it with no particular expectations, but I have to say that (even if we had gone with any) they would all have been exceeded. The pace of the day was relaxing and everything was either interesting or spectacular. Tomas was an excellent guide and had the patience to speak to me in Czech, which I had been working at for quite some time. His driving was really good and the vehicle was very comfortable. The meal was very good. Hopefully, that is enought to encourage anybody who feels reasonably active to GIVE IT A GO. Tony Wild (Liverpool Supporter, England)
Our day of hiking in the Bohemian Paradise was the highlight of our trip to Prague! There were only 2 of us, one of us in our 50s and the other in our 70s. Tom was patient, kind and most of all really, really knowledgeable. We appreciated that he shared with us that he was born and raised in this area, so when he talks about Bohemia, you can tell he loves it. I cannot say enough good things about the tour, the area and most of all about Tom!
The visit to the Bohemian Paradise was the highlight of our trip. The countryside around the Kost Castle was so serene and the sandstone parks of the Bohemian Paradise was breathtaking. The journey was made extra special by Tomas - our tour guide. He gave us wide array of information on Czech history, current economy and interesting stuffs - this kept us engaged throughout. He paced the tour perfectly that even our 6 year old daughter had super fun. I would highly recommend everyone to visit these places. Thanks Thomas for a very memorable experience!
Our visit to Prague is forever going to be a wonderful memory, thanks to this trip. Tomas from Green Zebra is an excellent and a very pleasant guide who made our trip to Bohemian Islands really great fun. He has really lot of knowledge about the area being a local from there. While this place is a beauty in itself, having a good guide who shared loads of different stories and info about the area made it really remarkable for us. We also got lot of tips about local food and drinks. The local restaurant in nearby village that we visited for lunch with Tomas was beautiful aesthetically and had delicious food. I would really recommend going to Bohemian Islands which is just an hour away from Prague with Tomas to guide you.
We were really keen to get out and see some of the Czech Republic outside of Prague and Bohemian Paradise does not disappoint. As others have said below, Tomas is an exemplary guide and if the views from the beautiful countryside weren't enough alone, Tomas's willingness to go the extra mile makes this an extremely worthwhile day trip. We were the only couple booked on the tour that day and really enjoyed learning about the different places, history of the country etc. from Tomas. He even took us a little further of the beaten track to try out some 'geocaching' which was super cool! The second rocky area (secret location) was probably the highlight of the trip because it is just so far removed from the hustle and bustle of tourists, we really felt we got to experience something unique. Lunch was also fantastic in a really beautiful local restaurant. Thank you again for a great day.
This is one of the most excellent day trips we have ever had, no question Bohemian Paradise is beautiful, but Tomas from Green Zebra really made the difference. The trip felt very personalized, not like a standard commercial packaged one you would get anywhere. Tomas is a wonderful gentleman and an excellent tour guide, very knowledgeable, polite, nice and fun. He has a wealth of interesting things to share with us the whole trip, history, geography, business... Our sons (10,11 yr old) were well engaged throughout. The van is new, clean and comfortable, Tomas keeps everything in great condition, very pleasant. Lunch was superb, we love the nice little restaurant Tomas brought us to, food is awesome and the ambiance is nice. The hike itself was nice and enjoyable, it was a hot day but 60,70% of the trail was shaded and cool. We have an additional hike to a mountain top (sorry forgot the name) after lunch where we got the stunning view all the way to the north of Prague. The beer brewery visit at the end of the day was really fun and we got to taste the freshly brewed chilly beer, this is one really perfect trip for us. HIGHLY recommended! Tomas thanks agian, we really enjoyed your company and you have given us an unforgettable trip as promised!
Fantastic day tour out of Prague. The castle was good and the rocks were a great change of scenery. Highly recommened. Tomas was a great guide. He took us to see an extra two rock formations which took an extra two hours out of his day. We were very thankful for this. Lunch was excellent also.
We had a great time on this tour with Tomas! As the only couple booked on this day, it was our own private tour, which made it an even more personal & memorable experience. All other reviews for this tour are spot on - the rock formations, lunch & brewery tour, as well as the scenery around Cesky Raj are all well worth the journey. Tomas' local knowledge of the area also enhanced the experience, teaching us a lot about the region and it's surrounds. Thanks Tomas for a great day out :)
Being in Prague for 4 days, we decided to take one tour out of the city. Green Zebra promised beautiful nature in Bohemian paradise. Our guide picked us up right in our hotel and spend whole day with us. We saw a lot from nature reserve called Cesky raj in czech. Huge stone castle, lots of rocks in two different areas with breathtaking lookouts, many gorges and high rock towers. Everything covered by snow, we felt like in fairytale. We´d never expect such a wild nature so close to Prague, driving here took just about 1 hour. We also stopped for a lunch in small local restaurant. Food here was really great, different from what we had in Prague. If you plan to visit Prague, definitely save one day for this tour, it is totaly different from what you see in the city and it´s worth going.
I took a friend and my mother, 77, with me. I was able to enjoy it slowly by driving, temple polite explanation to slowly adjust to this pace. Lunch is very good and I would love to come back if I had the chance. They were also quick and courteous from booking to meeting.
To park you have to pay cash, be mindful of this because you can't pay by ATM nearby. The walking route is not well signposted, but if you keep following the most logical main path you will automatically arrive in the forest with the rock formations. This is already beautiful, but be sure to walk all the way to the top. The view is superb. We went with our toddler. He was in the baby carrier, so this walk is more than doable. Next to the official vantage point is another very nice view. There is a small path leading to it. Note, there are no fences here.
Superb landscapes and Tom is a great guide, very friendly and very interesting. We also ate very well in a Czech restaurant where we were able to taste typical dishes (not a tourist spot). A really very successful day (between hiking and the great outdoors, we slept well in the evening). Thank you very much Tom :-)
