Itinerary
Embark on a captivating journey through the heart of Saxon Switzerland National Park! Our comfortable, air-conditioned minivan will pick you up directly at your Prague hotel at a pre-arranged time. As you cruise along the Elbe Canyon towards the majestic Bastei Bridge, our knowledgeable and entertaining guide will share fascinating insights about the passing landmarks, bringing the region's history and beauty to life.
Experience Bastei, the crown jewel of Saxon Switzerland! Explore several breathtaking viewpoints, among which the most stunning overlooks the Elbe Canyon, the largest sandstone canyon in Europe. From a height of 190 meters above the river, behold the beauty of Saxon Switzerland National Park - the table mountains of Lilienstein and Königstein with its impregnable fortress. Then walk across this magnificent Bridge perched high above the river Elbe. This awe-inspiring landmark holds the distinction of being the first tourist attraction in the region, constructed in 1851 to connect the rocky peaks with Neurathen Fortress. Prepare to be marveled by its architectural wonder!
Sandstone towers and the Neurathen castle ruins will remind you of the golden age of this medieval place. We will walk you around, show you all viewpoints and point out the best photo spots.
After exploring Bastei Bridge and Neurathen Fortress, we'll embark on a scenic drive through the Elbe River Canyon to the Czech side of the National Park - Elbe Sandstone Mountains.
(Not available from November to March) The 2km hike navigates us to the Pravcicka Gate. Approaching it from below, you will see the majesty with which it stands at the top of the surrounding landscape. It is the symbol of the Bohemian Switzerland National Park and you will know why, once you see it.
You need to recharge your batteries, so the next stop will be a traditional Czech and locally renowned restaurant. A rich "a la carte" lunch will be a welcome and well-deserved reward. Traditional Czech and international dishes are served (including vegetarian options). We highly recommend trying Czech beer, which is one of the best in the world. This restaurant is very popular with the locals and has the best reputation in Bohemian Switzerland. We are always very welcome at this restaurant and we have a pre-booked table in the best place that will be waiting for you ready before our arrival. In addition, we have an advantage over other guests in the kitchen, so the wait for food is significantly shorter.
Then we will drive you into the Tisa Rocks labyrinth, where Chronicles of Narnia was filmed. The rock city with lots of towers, small squares and mysterious corners will win you over with its captivating beauty. Anyone who ventures into the bowels of the rocks to enjoy the extraordinary charm of natural beauty will be rewarded with a nice experience. And as you know, no one can take the experience away from you.
After an amazing day exploring Bohemian and Saxon Switzerland, we'll head back to Prague for a relaxing ride. Chat with fellow adventurers, share your favorite photos, and unwind after a day of adventure. We'll arrive back in Prague comfortably, ensuring a perfect ending to your unforgettable trip.

The guide Matias was FANTASTIC!! Great Full day with Beautiful hikes and nature.
Mirek was an awesome tour guide. The hikes were challenging but the views were worth every step.
Fantastic tour. From pick up to drop off everything was exceptional. Our driver Malim was on time, knowledgeable and completely professional. Victoria was a wonderful guide. Her knowledge was great. Very dedicated to the tour. Strongly recommend. Best tour of our trip
This was a long day but well worth it! Matyas looked after us really well, had lots of great info on the locations and drove safely. He was very polite and pleasant and great to chat to, and made sure WC visits were regularly available. We were picked up outside our hotel, had snacks and water in the comfortable mini van. There were only 15 (in two vans) of us for the tour, which was a nice number. I really liked that we went to Bastei Bridge first - hardly anyone else there. It was a very foggy morning, so not much of a long view but gave everything a very fairytale feeling! Next stop was the walk to the stone arch. It was a reasonable walk, but if you take it slow then all fitness levels would be fine. My 16yo daughter practically ran up 🙄. Amazing views and natural wonders, and how on earth did they build a huge restaurant up there!?!? Got my favourite locally-made trinkets here. After a stroll back down, we stopped for a hot traditional meal (excellent!) overlooking the ridge with the arch in it. Makes the effort feel bigger!!! Last stop was the Tisa Rocks (Tiské stěny) which was simply awesome. We were dropped off at a high location and strolled down through the rock spires/maze. They were very tall, 3-6 stories high! Some had small cracks or holes you could squeeze through (or not) which was lots of fun too. Very pretty location with autumn leaves falling! Reached the bottom and had fresh wizzed berry ice-creams! Dozy drive back in time for dinner. Excellent tour, excellent guide and highly recommended.
This is an awesome day trip from Prague If you like nature, this is a great trip Our guide Mattias was incredible
Amazing sights, knowledgeable guide, worthwhile tour! The hike was a bit challenging, but the view was well worth it. The size of our group was also small, only 8 plus our guide. Our guide was also very knowledgeable.
Tour guide and drivers very friendly and knowledgeable, have been doing for 9or so seasons I believe so it’s hard to ask them a question they don’t know. Great snacks and water on board. Walk isn’t as strenuous as other “hikers” outfits make out, I did it in crocs and Levi shorts and as a girl that will only agree to any kinda walk if there’s a pub at the end, and there was!
Josef and Milan are very friendly and helpful. The tour is very nice and the scenes are breathtaking. Totally worth a day if you visiting Prague.
We had a fantastic day! Lovely nature and the guides were great
This is a must do tour from Prague. Well worth the day !! Come in your hiking shoes and with a water bottle to enjoy great views !! Laura from uniline was awesome !
An awesome day, with lots of hiking and great guidance by Jules,
Excellent tour and definitely worth the money! The day was packed with amazing sights, and our guide Kate was fantastic. She shared interesting insights about life in the Czech Republic, answered all our questions, and made the whole experience enjoyable. Highly recommended!
This was an enjoyable day for a solo traveler. The scenery was beautiful. The other travelers were friendly and fun. Matyas was a wonderful guide. Really enjoyed the lunch, too. I appreciated the on-time pick up (and drop off) at my hotel.
This was one of the best day tours I've taken. From start to finish, everything was exceptionally well organized, and the scenery was absolutely spectacular. Our guide, Frank, was engaging, knowledgeable, and genuinely gracious throughout the day. He shared fascinating information about the history, geology, and culture of the region while keeping the tour fun and entertaining. Our driver, Vince, was excellent as well, getting us safely and comfortably between each destination. The itinerary was outstanding. Walking across the Bastei Bridge and taking in the views over the Elbe Canyon was unforgettable. The hike to the magnificent Pravčická Gate was well worth the effort, and the Tisa Rocks labyrinth was like stepping into another world. Every stop offered incredible scenery and fantastic photo opportunities. The small-group format made the experience even more enjoyable, and the included snacks, bottled water, and delicious lunch were thoughtful touches that kept everyone energized throughout the day. If you're looking for a day trip from Prague that combines breathtaking landscapes, great organization, and outstanding guides, I can't recommend this tour highly enough.
Absolutely stunning experience. Our group of 8 became friends and Adam our guide was funny, knowledgeable and very attentive. The views, OMG, definitely recommend this tour and company.
A real highlight of our time in the Czech Republic. So great to have a day trip that was something different, out of the cities and into nature. Wonderful walks to reveal amazing scenery, a delicious local lunch and really friendly and informative guide. Highly recommended
The tour was not informative. I learned nothing about the places we visited. The food at restaurant where we had lunch could have been much better. The tour generally did not meet my expectations.
Our guides were very accommodating and kind. My husband was unable to participate in the hikes and Marlon was kind to take us around in his van. Beautiful place
This trip was the highlight of our experience in Czechia. Gorgeous views, beautiful landscape, very friendly and knowledgeable tour guide.
There are 3 hikes involved - first two are beautiful and while the second was 40 min up a mountain it wasn’t that bad. Parts of it were slippery so you need to be careful. Lunch was at a cute place and food was ok. 3rd hike was through woods to look at rock formation and took about an hour and a half. The entire day from pick up to drop off was 12 hours not 10 as advertised. I personally would have preferred to do just the first two hikes - the 3rd was slow and long. Tour guides were very nice.
Awesome tour. Guide Joseph and driver Vince were knowledgeable and friendly. Tour itself included amazing natural scenery. Also great logistics (pickup, providing water/snacks, lunch). Would highly recommend this trip
Ellie and Monica were fantastic. Really enjoyed them. However I believe for Americans taking this tour you need more information. It should be clear that this is a strenuous hike and involves climbing up a steep pathway about 2km on the second stop. I dressed completely wrong today as I did not realize the extent of the hiking. The info I was provided was not sufficient to explain what the day involved. As mentioned, tour staff were wonderful.
A visit to three places in a national park on the German-Czech border. Involves quite a bit of hiking up and down hills. I logged over 8 miles for the trip, however you can skip the walk up to the natural arch which was most of the walking. Great views of sandstone formations, the Elbe River, a natural arch and limestone formations. The trip included a good lunch, snacks and water.
We had an amazing day with our guide Adam in Bohemian Switzerland national park. Adam worked hard to make sure our whole experience was comfortable. He had a lot of knowledge about the history in the area. This tour goes to three locations in a short time but I didn't feel rushed in any of them. The best part for me was the final stop and different ways that Adam worked hard to make sure everyone was having fun. Also, lunch was sooooo good! And in a gorgeous location.
While the listing states gentle hikes, it was quite strenuous for me (55 yr old) but Martin was a dream. He offered me alternative routes so I didn’t hold up the group and still enjoy everything on the hike. Highly recommend.
Ondrej our guide and driver was fantastic. The information he gave was wonderful. The guessing game he organised at the lybrinth left the whole group laughing.
Such a fun and well thought out adventure. Adam our guide was so knowledgeable! From the Czech history to the lovely lunch to the fun on the hike it was all wonderful.
This was a fantastic day trip. Our guide, Adam was well-informed, easy-going, and helpful. The Bastei Bridge is chock full of romantic viewpoints. Lunch was hearty and delicious. The hike through sandstone rock formations was even better. Adam brought cleats to help us negotiate the ice and enjoy the strange rocks and the views from the mesa top. Oh, Adam was an excellent driver, too. Highly recommended.
Beautiful scenery and fantastic guides make this a wonderful day out. Lunch was a choice of traditional foods, which was very delicious.
This was a wonderful trip from start to finish. Our tour guide Tereza was very insightful and really made the whole day a lot of fun. Bastei Bridge was incredible. The whole area reminded me of a smaller version of Grand Canyon with way more trees. Our tour was in mid October and the leaves were starting to change color so walking there and back (short walk) to the van was very pretty. The lunch was decent and the restaurant was very authentic German. Dresden is beautiful and total eye candy to walk around in. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the history and other facts. I would totally recommend this tour.
This was a fantastic day trip! Our guide picked us up bright and early. We only had to share the van with one other couple. It was a comfortable ride with water and snacks within reach and readily available. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable. He shared so much of the history and general knowledge with us about each location. It was thoroughly enjoyable. He was great at keeping us on time from location to location. He made himself available for picture-taking, answering questions and lent a helping hand when needed. This was a great experience.
It was fantastic. So much beautiful scenery. Our tour guide, Andrea, was phenomenal. She has so much knowledge and truly cared about each one of the 9 people on the tour.
Excellent and fun experience. We were picked up in front of our hotel by Monika, who was an expert driver. We met up with the other van (there were thirteen people all together on this trip) at a gas station near the German border. We met Josef, our guide, there. Josef was wonderful in explaining the history, some anecdotes, and even about any flora and fauna we came across. The whole trip was fun and interesting but you definitely have to be in shape for the walk up to the sandstone arch, the descent was ok until the last bit and it was steep with steps but worth it. The other two sites we went to were much easier to navigate. There is lunch provided with the tour and it was delicious and served in a small B&B in a tiny village by the park. Unfortunately, for us, the weather was somewhat uncooperative with wind and rain but we were still able to get decent pictures despite that. All in all, I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who wants a break from the city and see some of the charming Czech countryside!
This was a wonderful experience. After cruising the Danube and seeing many cities, beautiful but crowded this was an amazing experience in nature. The views promised were excellent. And our guide, Barbara was knowledgeable, energetic, and very considerate of the varying levels of activity and the impact on the varying participants. I would highly recommend this tour and the opportunity to see both national parks in Germany and Czech Republic.
I was disappointed in their snack pack, they informed me the morning of the tour that breakfast snack will be provided when i proactively asked to plan my things.. But wen i got pickled up, all they had was protein bar.. I had a ling day of tour/hiking without breakfast.. And lunch was served at 3pm…
Overall this trip is a fantastic getaway from downtown Prague to hike a beautiful national park. We were 4 in a group of 12 and had Monica as our driver and Josef as our guide. He was incredibly entertaining and engaging to the whole group, and very knowledgeable about the different sites on the way to the park and at the park locations itself. The hikes were very enjoyable that show beautiful vistas and natural landscapes of both Czech and Germany. The tour is very accommodating to different hiking skill levels, but should note better the elevation on these hikes. The first location is very easy, it is mostly a quick overlook point that makes for good pictures, but the second and third hikes have significant elevation changes (~200m) that can be quite difficult for those with joint or breathing difficulties. Some members of the group were unable to join the third hike due to these steep grades, but the tour was very accommodating and shuttled them to enjoyable alternation viewpoints while the rest of the group went on the third hike. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys hiking and national parks! The drivers and guide are very competent, knowledgeable, and hilarious which elevates the experience!
This was an excellent tour that our family party of 3 enjoyed very much. We booked through Milan at Saxon Tours and were picked up from our Prague hotel for the journey to the National Park by Ondres who was our driver and guide for most of the trip. All aspects of the day were very well planned and co-ordinated, visiting the Bastei bridge first before it got too busy. We had opted to do the gorge boat trip and we were accompanied by Milan who was a warm, friendly and helpful guide. We journeyed on, after an enjoyable lunch and a beer, to Tiske steny. Plenty of water and snacks were made available throughout the day and we enjoyed chatting with Ondres our driver and guide who was professional and knowledgeable. My wife, adult daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our day out from Prague and would highly recommend Saxon tours.
We loved every part of this day. The knowledge of our guides, the hiking and even the lunch we had. Thank you for such a wonderful experience with our family.
Our driver, Monica was very nice and competent. She added snacks and water bottles at every stop. Andrea, our guide, was knowledgeable and friendly, she never put pressure on our pace. She waited for everyone, being a bit slow, we never felt pushed. We went for the Bastei bridge and Falcon nest, both in Narnia movies, both amazing views, but the third park, Tisa Rocks, was a wonderful surprise and a favorite of ours being less crowded and beautiful. Great authentic lunch with a view. Hikes are easy to intermediate. Doable for someone somewhat out of shape, but still a good cardio outing!
very friendly tour guides and great scenery! The Bastei bridge is truly a highlight of the trip, with the history the tour guides provided the landscape with an interesting background and history lesson
We loved our Saxon Tour!!! Our guide Andrea was so personable, kind, and funny! She shared personal stories, really interesting facts, and made sure we had a great time. We stopped for lunch at a delicious restaurant as well, which was perfect after the hike. Thank you!
Incredible tour—range of sights, a great meal, Andrea was delightful to spend time with!! Would do this again 100 times out of 100.
This was an amazing day trip! We got to see 3 different locations, all offering different beautiful views of the sandstone rock formations in this national park! Milan was an awesome driver, providing snacks and drinks and always planned ahead for the most efficient day. Andrea was a fantastic tour guide, talking with us all day about her life experiences, fun facts about the different locations we visited, and just lots of interesting information about Czechia! Saxon Tours is the operator to take for this day trip, I promise you won't regret it!
This tour was absolutely amazing. Milan and Andrea were so welcoming, prepared, and knowledgeable about the sites. We were really able to have fun together as a group while still learning a lot about the beautiful country. I would 100% come back and tour with them again!
It was a small group tour but fun that’s why our individual needs are being catered. The 3 locations that we went to was excellent. You are not going to be left alone and will always be guided.Jitka is excellent and very nice.Milan who took us from different locations made sure that we are safe.He waited up to the last location.
Unquestionably one of the most beautiful places to hike, I would argue that this is one of the greatest ways to touch the grass and take in the scenery. Jitka is extremely familiar with the area, very understanding of our needs, and she waited for us patiently without hurrying so that we may go at our own speed. Along with providing us with ample water and food on the trip, Milan was also quite sweet to give us a message on the pick-up time. I adore the restaurant's atmosphere and cuisine, and I was moved when my friend's birthday was celebrated with a small birthday toast from our group .
Milian & Andrea are great and charming hosts. We had an amazing tour of hiking, river views & amazing food. We highly recommend this tour when your in Prague. Enjoy.
Our guide Andrea was great she showed us all the sites and gave us just enough info about the sites. She gave us plenty of time to see everything and take photos. She never rushed us. The stop for lunch with traditional Czech cuisine was excellent. We had a really great experience and would highly recommend booking with Saxon tours.
This was a great day trip out of Prague! The tour was well organized and they took care of everything right down to the bathrooms. Lunch was good & they accommodated vegetarians. In winter it unfortunately skips Pravčická Gate and the Boat Ride, but it’s nice to not have to deal with crowds this time of year and the Tisa Rocks Labyrinth hike in the snow was a nice alternative (could be slippery and may be challenging for seniors). Other members of the tour were friendly, and it was a manageable size of all ages. We got to Prague efficiently before dinner time. Unfortunately, the advertised Wi-Fi network didn’t work in the vehicle, but I didn’t ask them to troubleshoot. Adam with Saxon was a great host!
