We are writing to commend Tereza, our personal guide to Essential Prague on Wednesday 14 October. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed Tereza’s pleasant demeanor and outstanding knowledge of her city. I have been to Prague before, but I feel as though I missed so much thanks to all the fascinating things that Tereza illuminated for me, including her knowledge of Prague Castle, the Astronomical Clock, St. Vitus Cathedral, and some fascinating Catholic trivia that I didn’t know even after 13 years in Catholic school ! Tereza also told us a little bit about her background, which prompted some questions from me. She is an interesting woman ! Tereza is knowledgeable, personable, and generous with her time—she spent extra time with us, which hugely impressed us.

Itinerary
Prague Castle is a seat of the Czech kings and later presidents. It has been an important symbol of the Czech state for more than a thousand years. The castle, one of the largest complexes in the world, is made up of historical palaces, offices, church and fortification buildings, gardens, the great Gothic Cathedral of Saint Vitus and many and picturesque spots. It covers an area of 45 hectares. The panoramic view of Prague Castle is one of the most spectacular in the world. During our tour we will walk through the Prague Castle yards, enter some parts that are free of charge, but we will not enter all the interiors (1/4 of the cathedral is usually Accesible for free, Golden lane is for free after 17:00. (You can either decide to add some extras and extend this basic tour with us, or visit the interiors later on your own.)
Valuable late Gothic entrance gate to the famous bridge. Enjoy the rich Gothic sculptural decoration including some gargoyles, beasts and even the protecting witch.
This charming street is characterized by ancient burgher houses, mostly now transformed into quaint hotels, restaurants and small shops. Nerudova is a part of the Royal Way of Prague. Nerudova is named after the 19th century Czech writer and journalist Jan Neruda. It is one of the “must see” places of Prague. Enjoy the romantic house signs above the main door e.g: At the Two Suns, Three Little Fiddles, At the Turnip ...
We will promenade across the oldest bridge of Prague, the Charles bridge, decorated with 30 old picturesque statues and the most beautiful gothic bridge tower in Europe. The bridge has been standing since 1357, thanks to - legend says - eggs mixed into the mortar. If you touch the magic five star sign you can make a wish and the power of the saints will help you … Here, you can really breathe in the true atmosphere of Prague, get back into the times of golden Prague. Very romantic!! Maybe you will recognize the scenery from the first Mission Impossible movie. Near the bridge you can also see the area called Prague Venice with the side channel called Devil stream and the famous painted anti-communist John Lennon Wall. At the end of the bridge you can see the gigantic Klementinum, a former Jesuit College which serves as the National Library today.
The extensive grounds of the Clementinum is the third largest Jesuit college in the world. Build in 16th -18th centuries in the Baroque style. In its Astronomical Tower, meteorological measurements have been collected since 1775. The most beautiful hall of the complex is the Baroque Library with beautiful frescoes and historically valuable globes. The Mirror Chapel with its richly designed interior and unique installation of mirrors is a place where classical music concerts take place regularly. (You can either decide add some extras and extend this basic tour, or on your own visit the interiors.)
Strolling through the oldest streets, we will reach the charming Old Town Square, the 3D textbook of many architectural styles. There are many important sights: the baroque, gateau-like St. Nicholas church, the Kinský Palace - the city’s finest rococo facade, the gothic House at the Stone Bell, the spiky-topped Church of Týn and much more. The Square is dominated by the Jan Hus Statue and the Old Town Hall (damaged by Nazis in W.W. II). Everybody just "wow" at the truly amazing Astronomical Clock with the hourly show - 12 apostles appearing in two windows and the skeleton ringing the bell.
The most beautiful Art Noveau building of Prague. The Municipal House facade is eye-catching monumental architectural composition. Monumental allegorical figures, displayed all over the facade of the building, which were created by some of the greatest local artists. Anthropomorphical sculptures are accompanied by decor with Art Nouveau floral ornaments as well as other classical architectural elements. It is a civic building that houses Smetana Hall, a celebrated concert venue, where The Prague Spring festival is held.

On our visit to Prague, we booked a private half-day walking tour through Personal Prague Guide. Radka met us at our apartment and stayed with us throughout the morning and into the early afternoon. We could not have asked for a better introduction to this beautiful city and all of its history. Radka was an amazing host who is passionate about the history and culture of the Czech Republic. She took the time to first understand what we had already seen and then completely customized the day based on our interests. She was patient with our endless questions and really made it a memorable visit. We all agreed that the time that we spent together was a highlight of our trip and highly recommend this company.
We booked our private tour for an overview of the City on our first day. A guided tour is a must in order to get the most out of this beautiful city. Our guide, Radka Hrdlickova, was on time, easy to understand and took our pace and requests into consideration for the tour duration. An A+ for the tour and Radka.
Sarka was the best. Very knowledgeable, artistic, patient. Knew all the neat places off the beaten path. Would highly recommend her.
Dagmar - our guide was wonderful! She sat us down at the start to discuss what we might want to see. Then she formulated our tour and then led us primarily through Old Town. She explained the history of Prague to help us understand and appreciate what we were seeing. She answered all of our questions. Dagmar’s English was very good! Her Art history background gave us a sophisticated view of architecture and public art. And when she was done, she sat down with us again to answer further questions and help us to map out our next several days. The map she gave us was extremely useful (more so than the map given to us by our hotel). We recommend her highly!
We had such a wonderful time in Prague because of this tour. Dasha (our tourguide) was super knowledgeable about the history of the places that we visited. She also made a lot a good recommendations that we found useful. Thank you, Dasha!
We had an amazing tour of Prague today with Radka of Personal Prague Guide! Radka and her driver were wonderful: professional, engaging, friendly, and very knowledgeable. I was in a wheelchair due to a fall and they ensured that I was comfortable at all times. We saw so many parts of Prague and learn so much of its history. We truly recommend this Tour as a marvelous introduction to the beautiful city of Prague. Their customer service is 5 star 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
We absolutely loved our tour with Lenka. She guided our small group from Prague castle, over Charles Bridge and right through the Old Town, finishing with a meal in a local restaurant. Lenka was easy to understand and full of stories and historical details which brought the surroundings to life. Architecture in Prague is amazing and Lenka clearly explained all the different styles and pointed them out as we walked around Prague for our four hour tour. She provided political, religious and historical insights which gave us, as first time visitors, an understanding of both Prague today and its past. We saw many famous and interesting sights, and Lenka also shared further tips and suggestions for the rest of our stay, which we very much appreciated. Thank you Lenka for helping us enjoy this beautiful city!
Excellent guide. Excellent tour. Lots of walking at our pace. Very informative because of knowledgeable guide. Overall excellent experience
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Donegal Crew meets Tereza! 🇨🇿😂 What a tour we had with the fabulous Tereza! The Donegal Crew of 10 arrived in Prague ready for a good time, and we certainly got one — thanks in no small part to Tereza. She was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Tereza was full of knowledge and gave us loads of fascinating information about Prague, the history, the buildings and all the sights. She somehow managed to keep eight of us interested, entertained and reasonably well behaved… which in itself deserves a medal! 😂 But it wasn't just the information that made Tereza so special. She had loads of personality, a fantastic sense of humour and really knew how to have fun with us. She quickly became one of the gang. Poor Nigel even got a new name — “Angel” — and we're not sure he'll ever live that one down! 😂 She brought Prague to life for us and made the whole experience so much more than just a sightseeing tour. There was plenty of laughing, plenty of stories and plenty of memories made along the way. For a group of 10 friends who love a weekend away, a few drinks and a good laugh, Tereza was the perfect guide. We will remember our Prague trip for many reasons, but Tereza and her wonderful personality will definitely be one of the highlights. Thank you, Tereza, for putting up with the Donegal Crew and helping make our Prague adventure truly unforgettable! ❤️🇨🇿 From the Donegal Crew of 10 — including Angel/Nigel! 😂🍻
Last month we enjoyed an excellent orientation to Prague thanks to our knowledgeable and engaging tour guide Tereza from PersonalPragueGuide. She truly made the city come alive for us during the three hours we spent together. She even showed us how easy it is to use the tram, which made the rest of our trip that much easier. If you're ever in Prague be sure to book a tour with PersonalPragueGuide and ask for Tereza. You'll be glad you did!
Dagmar Dvorska was excellent. Very knowledgeable. Explained in simple english. Was visibly excited about what she does. If we come back, I will looks out for her as our guide.
We had a wonderful tour of Prague with Barbora! She was an excellent guide with an incredible depth of knowledge and experience, and we learned so much about Prague’s history, culture, and beautiful city. Barbora was warm, engaging, and incredibly helpful throughout our time together. She even went above and beyond by helping us secure a lunch reservation at a fantastic restaurant, which we really appreciated. Her expertise and personal attention made our time in Prague even more memorable. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Barbora and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and experienced guide in Prague!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We have hired private guides in many cities around the world, and Personal Prague Guide ranks among the very best. Our guide, Sarka, combined deep historical knowledge with outstanding planning and genuine hospitality. She made Prague feel accessible and understandable instead of overwhelming. Every location had a purpose, every story added context, and the entire tour flowed effortlessly. We chose to include a driver, and Sarka coordinated everything perfectly so we covered far more than we ever could have on our own while minimizing unnecessary walking. She even stayed well beyond the scheduled end of our tour because she wanted to make sure we didn’t miss important sights. One of our favorite moments was watching the Astronomical Clock from a reserved second-floor location overlooking the square instead of standing in the crowded plaza. That level of preparation and local knowledge made all the difference. Even after the tour, she continued helping us by recommending restaurants, suggesting how to spend the rest of our time in Prague, and explaining the public transportation system so we could make the most of the remainder of our visit. Professional, personable, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable, Sarka gave us an experience we simply could not have created on our own. We would recommend Personal Prague Guide without hesitation.
Magdalena provided an outstanding experience in Prague. She is incredibly knowledgeable and shared interesting and entertaining stories about Prague. Our trip would not have been the same without her. I would highly recommend this tour. !!
Barbora was an exceptional guide. She made sure we saw the sights we wanted to see plus other interesting spots. Her knowledge of history, architecture, culture, etc were invaluable for a better understanding of Prague.
The one on one experience with Betty was phenomenal! She was so incredibly informative about every question asked. We saw and heard about the history of Prague and the Czech Republic that we wouldn’t have gotten in a large group. We highly recommend Betty!
Was a truly great experience with Lenka! Perfect way to start the trip in Prague. Lenka gave us the lay of the land and helped us plan the rest of our trip. Thank you Lenka!!
Our personal guide was Lenka Pasekova and she was wonderful in every way! She took us to the places we asked answered many many questions, used visual aids and then gave them to us when the tour was over, and timed everything perfectly. For example we got to the astronomical clock 10 minutes before the hour, and during that time she explained the clock plus many other things the old town buildings and we got to see all the apostles! She was extremely smart and professional, and yet she felt like family! We highly recommend her to others!!!
Dagmar was excellent. We had a very informative 4 hour walking tour of the city. The tour company also was very accommodating in re-scheduling due to the excessive heat to a cooler day.
We really enjoyed our tour with Dagmar. She was very knowledgeable and managed to adjust the itinerary based on our desires as well as handling the unusal heat. Would certainly recommend this tour to others.
We truly enjoyed exploring Prague Castle with our guide Jana Gluchman. She made sure that our kids (5 and 8 yr. Old) are comfortable with the pace and that the tour have piqued their interests. We will definitely contact Personal Prague Guide again when we go back to Czech Republic.
We had 2 half days with Lenka. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and great to be with as she showed us her beautiful city. We had a wish list, but also wanted her to show us the hidden gems. On the first day we stayed on one side of the river, and then on day 2 we went to the palace on the other side of the river. We so enjoyed our tours and could not have been happier! Also, I appreciated the good communication with the company as we had booked months in advance. A private tour was the perfect way to see Prague!
Lenka Pasekova was awesome Very knowledgeable about Prague writ large. Tour was personable. Highly recommended .
Our guide was Lenka Zelena and she was outstanding. We were 2 couples and we spent 2 mornings on a private walking tour of Prague. Lenka knows and loves her city and answered all our many questions with ease. We all enjoyed meeting and spending time with her. She went above and beyond what we were expecting by not only suggesting restaurants and an itinerary for our extra day in town but also making reservations for us. For example, she made a reservation for us at a great wine bar for a tasting of local wines and she got us an outdoor table at a lovely restaurant near the Castle with tremendous views. We were in town for The Night of Churches and she made a plan to best maximize our time. She helped make our trip to Prague personal and we were very happy to have Lenka as our guide. We highly recommend her as a guide.
Betty was our personal tour guide in Prague. She was so knowledgeable in absolutely everything. She was also very patient and kind and funny. We highly recommend her!
Dagmar, was on time to pick us up at the hotel. We took the very convenient tram to the palace and started our tour. She was so knowledgeable and adjusted to our certain interest. We covered a lot of Prague and she also gave instructions for visiting places on our own the next day.
We had a wonderful tour of Prague with Lenka. She was incredibly knowledgeable and introduced us to many beautiful sights and hidden corners of the city that we likely would have missed exploring on our own. It was the perfect way to begin our holiday and gave us a wealth of ideas for how to make the very most of our time in Prague. In addition to showcasing the city’s beauty, Lenka also recommended unique dining experiences that allowed us to enjoy an authentic taste of Czech culture. Her warmth, insight, and passion for Prague made the tour truly memorable. We would highly recommend her tour to anyone looking to experience Prague in a more meaningful and memorable way.
We travelled as a group of 8 friends who have travelled abroad before with many tours. Our two day overview of Prague with Tereza has been the highlight by far of our experiences! Prague has been recommended to us by friends as a "must see" and now we know why, it is an outstanding city and experience! Made much more so by Tereza who kept us going at a moderate pace while walking backwards and explaining about our surroundings, history and culture-the perfect overview we were looking for. She knew the timing to catch the changing of the guard at the palace and the clock tower movement experience as well as where to eat lunch and dinners. The tour could not have been better and we highly recommend Tereza as your tour guide!
Sarka was fantastic! Very knowledgeable as well as funny. She explained everything in a very understandable way.
I can not imagine a more superb guide than Tereza Kasikova. She was knowledgeable , delightful and completely responsive to our requests. Her company was the only one that followed up with us when we were researching Prague tours. Look no further than Personal Prague Tours. Be sure to ask for Tereza K. Moravcova for an unforgettable experience. She is truly a gem!
Lenka was a super guide who showed us around Prague with local knowledge to share. We had a great time.
Excelente service . Honest and truly knowledgeable guide . Jana made the difference in our visit to Prague. Can't reccomend her enough .
Dagmar (Dasha) was very knowledgeable of Prague’s history, historical sites and their significance to the Czech Republic culture. She’s a true local with a love for her city. Book this tour!
I first arranged our special Prague tour with Sarka in 2020, based on her recommendation from Rick Steves. I was very impressed with his interview with her then and was amazed to find her still touring in 2026! (Our initial trip was delayed due to COVID). She still had our tour request on file. We were able to customize our day with her when we met the day of our tour. She proudly showed off her beautiful city, including her secret passageways off the beaten path and away from the heavily congested tourist areas. We had a front row seat to the astronomical clock show in a lovely cafe across the street and Sarka introduced so many personal touches to our day, ensuring we had plenty of rest time, food & drink! We had s long list of places to see and she made sure we were not disappointed! I would highly recommend booking a tour with her company on your next visit to beautiful, historic Prague.
Jana Kratka was incredible! She was very informative, easily understood, and just a delightful guide!!
Honza toured us around Prague and Cesky Krumlov… we all had an amazing experience due to his knowledge, warm personality, and willingness to share personal stories about growing up in Czech. We all would enthusiastically recommend Honza to anyone considering touring the Czech Republic.
Our private tour with Stephen was fantastic! We had toured around Old Town ourselves the day before but realized we needed and wanted more insight into this amazing town. Stephen was so knowledgeable about major as well as lesser known parts of the city. He helped us experience the history, food and culture of the city. We enjoyed every second and cannot recommend Stephen and private guide enough!
We highly recommend Jana as a guide! She made Prague come alive for us and provided many historical and cultural insights we would have missed otherwise. This is an excellent tour!
We had a great time with Alena as our guide on a 2-hour private walking tour in Prague. She connected well with our 8-year-old daughter who also enjoyed the tour. -- The booking system was also very responsive.
Jana was the best. She wanted to cater the trip to my interests. Incredibly knowledgeable and personable. Great walking tour.
We had the most amazing personalized tour with our guide, Olga. She tailored the experience as we went, and it truly felt like we saw everything. Even with just one day in Prague, she made sure we got the absolute most out of it—and we loved the city so much that we already want to go back. Olga was incredibly patient and thoughtful, took us to the best photo spots, helped us avoid the tourist traps, and brought the city to life through its legends and superstitions. We had the best time and couldn’t have asked for a better way to experience Prague.
What a WONDERFUL experience... actually TWO experiences we had. Lenka was our guide for the 6 hour walking tour of Prague. I have nothing but praise. She is kind, paced and planned the tour based on our needs and interests and her knowledge was thorough but not heavy handed, her sincere interest in her work was evident, and she helped us create plans for the next few days. This included her brother and fellow guide Karel taking us to Kutna Hora. He was equally as lovely, engaging, and fun, yet both guides had their own styles and personalities, making each tour a uniquely enjoyable day. Were we to return, we would specifically ask for each of them to work with us again.
My daughter is studying in Prague this year, so my friend and I took a trip to visit in late October/early November. One of the many activities we did was book a walking tour of the city where we were lucky enough to be paired up with Lenka! I can't say enough good things about her! She is top notch! She was so knowledgeable and courteous she made our day extremely enjoyable. Not only did she walk us around the city for 6 hours, but she also enlisted her brother, Karel to take us to Kutna Hora the next day. He was equally knowledgeable and enjoyable to hang out with! We not only enjoyed learning the history of the city, but they also introduced us to some local (non-touristy) places that really made us feel like we were immersed in the culture. If you're ever looking to book a walking tour, I highly, highly recommend these two. They were fantastic!!
The morning after my wife and I arrived in Prague for the first time, we took a half day tour with Veronika. The tour far exceeded our expectations and we enjoyed it so much we asked Veronika for a second tour later in the week to a different part of this enchanting city. Veronika is a veritable encyclopedia of all things Czech and her knowledge and understanding is equally matched by her enthusiasm for the subject and her very entertaining presentation. It was a pleasure to spend time with her. It is difficult to imagine one coming away from such a tour without a strong sense of the history of this wonderful country and its people, a story complete with tragedy and sadness yet full of courage and perseverance, strength, beauty and continual rebirth. We highly recommend these tours.
We had an amazing experience with Alena! She was so knowledgeable, friendly, and patient with our questions and we felt very comfortable and welcomed to Prague. She did a wonderful job of taking us to and explaining the sites that we had asked to see and also showing us little gems that were hidden, but very interesting and beautiful. Most exciting, you were given a tour inside the astrological clock to see the mechanism! She recognized the clockmaster getting out of his car and asked if we could go in. It was an experience of a lifetime! We will definitely recommend her to anyone you know who will be visiting. Thank you for a lovely experience!
Alena Dušková was our guide and was absolutely excellent! She expertly guided us and explained the significance of sites we had on our list to see, while also sharing with us hidden gems that made for a very rich experience. The highlight was a visit INSIDE the astrological clock after she recognized the clockmaster arriving to check on the clock mechanism. She asked, and we were able to see the inside of this amazing machine. The experience of a lifetime! We will certainly recommend your company, and Alena in particular, to anyone who is traveling to Prague. Just an amazing day!
Sarka is a LOCAL. This was actually my 3rd trip to Prague and I was visiting with family on a Rick Steve’s trip. We spent 2 mornings with her: 1) old town and parts of new town 2) Castle tour, so be sure to inquire about the type of tours she does for Rick Steve’s to get a longer tour that is off the beaten path, so to speak. The tour of new town will discuss more of the Velvet Revolution. Old town will discuss more of the typical tourist spots. She’s energetic, funny, and knew the answers to several obscure questions people on our tour asked. She also provides a unique historical point of view by providing stories from when she was a child growing up in Soviet-era control. One of my favorite parts about her tours is that she will take you walking and weave throughout the hidden city streets. This is a much more enjoyable experience where you find hidden courtyards, shops, and restaurants, vs crowded walkways and car traffic. I fully intend to use her again for the smaller towns outside of Prague.
Sarka, awesome kept our attention knows all the material and is funny and makes for a easily to enjoy this beautiful city. We had her for two-days and she's a top notch tour guide highly recommended hiring her.
Tereza is exactly what you need for a knowledgeable, high energy and fun filled tour of Prague. I booked Tereza for a private tour as our group had various travel interests. She discussed our desires before our tour and happily worked in all requests. Tereza had an easy going nature while answering all of our questions and she carries such beautiful energy. She is so knowledgeable of her city, not only sharing its history, but filling in with some personal experiences living under the changes which occurred in her lifetime. Immediately, we felt we were walking with a long time friend who was happy we were in town visiting. Tereza has so much knowledge of, and love for her beautiful city, it was infectious!
