Our guide Josef was fantastic. He passionately shared his vast knowledge of the area and the country. His English was exceptional. He was very engaging and spent time with each hiker. So glad that we started early in the day to avoid some of the crowds. The Bastei Bridge views were incredible. We carefully hiked Pravcicka Gate and Josef gave us several breaks to catch our breath and grab a drink. Lunch at the small restaurant was delicious and the service was quick. We had fun walking through the Narnia Rocks and hearing about them from Josef.

Itinerary
Kick off your day with a pickup from your Prague hotel at a pre-arranged time. Settle into an air-conditioned minivan with free Wi-Fi while your local English-speaking guide drives you toward the national parks.
Start at the Bastei Bridge, the most famous sight in Saxon Switzerland — a 19th-century stone footbridge strung between giant sandstone pinnacles, almost 200 metres above the Elbe river. Walk across it and along the cliff paths for what many call the finest views in Germany.
Pass by the ruins of Neurathen Castle, a medieval fortress carved straight into the rock beside the Bastei — once one of the largest cliff castles in the region.
Cross back to Czechia for a scenic drive through Bohemian Switzerland National Park — a wilderness of deep gorges, pine forest and sandstone towers that, with the Saxon side, gave the whole region its "Switzerland" name.
(Summer tour only) Hike up to Pravcicka Gate, the largest natural sandstone arch in Europe — a massive stone span framing the forested valley below, and one of the most photographed natural wonders in the country. It also featured in The Chronicles of Narnia.
Recharge with a relaxed à la carte lunch at a traditional Czech restaurant in the village of Mezná — main course, drink, dessert and coffee included.
Finish in the Tisa Rock Labyrinth (Tiské stěny), a maze of towering sandstone walls, narrow passages and hidden viewpoints — best known internationally as a filming location for The Chronicles of Narnia, and for many travelers the most atmospheric stop of the day.
After a full day of exploring, sit back and relax on the comfortable drive back to Prague, with drop-off at your hotel.

This was the best day trip I’ve ever taken! We went as a group of four friends, and it was an absolutely amazing experience. The scenery was spectacular, and every moment was unforgettable. Our tour guide, Josef, was incredibly kind, helpful, and engaging, and our driver, Milan was equally friendly and accommodating. They both went above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic day. We were also provided with plenty of water and snacks throughout the trip. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience!
Amazing the views were great and all of the staff were world class. Favorite part was definitely the hike to the top. Thank you Brad from the USA.
Scenic hiking with good elevation changes. The guide Adam, was friendly and informative. There was plenty of water and snacks. The lunch had 4 choices and the chicken was delicious.
It was a wonderful experience from pick up to drop off. Our guide was very informative, kept us all on time and all three stops are not to be missed. The first hike is a hike. The food at lunch was amazing, they were always mindful of telling us where to get bathrooms and ride was comfortable
This tour as arranged through Viator was actually conducted by a local tour company, Unilever. We signed up for a small group and therefore had 8 people in our group. Transportation was a high end Ford Van outfitted to seat 8. Our guide was Adam. Adam was knowledgeable and provided us with a excellent preview of the day's activities. Caution here is that Adam is an aggressive driver that needs to be a bit more defensive. The sites such as the Bastei Bridge and two other hikes were very scenic and interesting. Adam's commentary made the hikes very enjoyable. The caution here is that the hikes are taxing and not suited to anyone with significant disability such as bad knees. I would downplay the Narnia aspect as there is not much to see in that regard. The lunch provided was also excellent as we ate at a restaurant in one of the Bohemian forest towns. All in all, I would recommend.
Tour was fantastic. Tour guides and driver was great. It was magical with the weather (snow) helping to enhance the experience.
Our small group of 6 was extremely well hosted and looked after by our unbelievably knowledgeable & experienced guide, Josef. The tour was well paced, well organised and very informative with Josef & our driver taking care of our every need. Some fantastic hiking took in spectacular views, history, nature & fun. Would highly recommend this day tour.
Beautiful trip with awesome guide Andrea and driver Mark. The natural landscape was breathtaking. Very knowledgeable guide and delicious lunch.
My group and I had an excellent time on this tour! Our driver, Milan, and tour guide, Andrea, were fabulous—both were knowledgeable, spoke great English, and were easy to understand. The tour felt very personal, and I highly recommend choosing them over larger tour groups for a more engaging experience!
Views, rides, warren, all was amazing The guide warren had everything and more to make the journey wonderful. Be ready to climb, Im not a sportsman and it went smooth, dont rush and drink a lot Thanks!
Adam was our guide and he was excellent. Very friendly and knowledgeable and speaks English clearly. Definitely recommend him and this beautiful trip.
It was a great way to spend a day, after thoroughly exploring Prague. The guides were fantastic and knowledgeable, the driver was amazing and friendly, and the food was delicious! Definitely worth checking out, the pictures are making all our friends jealous!
Visiting Saxon and Bohemian Switzerland was an unforgettable experience! The landscapes are breathtaking, with unique sandstone formations, lush forests, and incredible viewpoints like Bastei Bridge and Pravčická Brána. Our guide Ondra made the trip even better, his knowledge of the area’s history, geology, and local legends brought each spot to life. He took us on the best trails, avoiding crowded areas and showing us hidden gems we would’ve missed on our own. Highly recommend both the destination and having a guide and driver like Ondra for the best experience.
Amazing scenery, good organisation of stops and walks/sights so the day overall is not too tiring, and a very informative guide.
A great journey to explore amazing rock formations and spectacular landscapes in both Saxon and Bohemian Switzerland National parks in Germany and Czechia. Our tour guide Anna and the driver are both terrific offering us the most comfort, convenience and knowledge of this fascinating place. Their kindness and hospitality are unforgettable and the lunch included is very tasty. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to explore the areas beyond the cities.
Saxon Tours (and their affiliate Uniline Tours) provided a wonderful day of exploring the extraordinary sandstone columns at Bastei bridge, Pravcicka arch and Tisa labyrinth, with some hiking and a delicious Czech lunch. About from the scenery, what made it special were the efforts o guides Elis and Kate, and driver Vince, who kept us safe and comfortable and informed; nothing was too much trouble and they even paid for appropriately timed toilet stops. Refreshments provided. 10/10.
We booked this tour with saxon tours . We were clearly communicated about the pick up timing from our hotel and guide name. Picke up was on time and we started our journey in a comfortable minivan with two other couples and our Guide Ondra and our driver Juraj. Juraj is a very gentle person who drove us safe and sound throughout the tour. Ondra is an excellent guide, full of information and humour and he never let our energy come down through out the tour. We started our visit with Saxon National park and visited Bastei Bridge and couple of view point. The hiking was of low intensity and through out the hike Ondra took very good care for us. The views are breathtaking and you will feel getting time travelled in a fantasy land of an bygone era. Thw next hiking was to visit the largest stone arch of Europe. But we decided to skip that as we are not much of a hiker. Ondra was kind enough to take us to a view point from where we could see the arch from down. Alternatively he took us in a walking tour of two nice hamlets in Czech part. We had a nice lemonade there. Then we headed to a golf resort where we had delicious lunch. Ondra took pre order from us and informed them. So the food came quick and hot. The golf resort itself is a place to cherish. Then we moved for another easy hiking in Tiske steny, the stone labyrinth where ' Chronicles of Narnia ' were filmed. Through out the tour, main focus for Ondra was our comfort and satisfaction. The car was loaded with water bottles , crossiants, energy bars ans other snacks item. Food and drinks were more than sufficient throughout the day and were included in the tour price. We spent a wonderful day in lap of nature with awesome people. A big aplaud fro Saxon tours. Highly recommended.
Our recent trip to Germany and Czechia was an unforgettable journey filled with stunning landscapes, rich history, and cherished moments with friends. This adventure, centered around hiking and exploring some of Europe’s most scenic routes, was absolutely a 5-star experience. Highlights of Our Trip: 1. Epic Hikes Through Scenic Landscapes: We set out to immerse ourselves in the natural beauty of Germany and Czechia, and the hikes we undertook were nothing short of breathtaking. The trails led us through lush forests, rolling hills, and tranquil valleys. The crowning jewel of our hiking adventure was reaching the **largest sandstone archway in Europe**. Standing beneath this colossal natural wonder was awe-inspiring. Its grandeur and the sheer scale left us speechless and provided a magnificent reward for our efforts. 2. Historic Marvels and Timeless Beauty: The trip was a delightful journey through history. Besides the towering archway, we discovered an ancient bridge that added a touch of historic charm to our exploration. These structures, with their centuries-old stories, stood in stark yet beautiful contrast to the vibrant, natural landscapes around them. It was a humbling experience to witness such enduring landmarks that have withstood the passage of time. 3. Delicious Local Cuisine: Our culinary adventures were just as thrilling as our hikes. Each meal we enjoyed was a testament to the rich and diverse flavors of the region. From hearty German sausages to savory Czech pastries, we relished every bite. The local dishes were a feast for the senses, and the warmth and hospitality we encountered made our dining experiences truly memorable. It was a delightful way to connect with the culture and traditions of the places we visited. 4. Shared Joy and Friendship: Traveling with friends added an extra layer of joy to the entire experience. Whether we were navigating the trails, marveling at the ancient archway, or sharing laughs over dinner, every moment was enhanced by the camaraderie we shared. The collective awe, the spontaneous laughter, and the shared discoveries made this trip incredibly special. It was a journey made richer by the presence of good friends. 5. Off the Beaten Path: Opting for less-traveled routes allowed us to experience the tranquility and unspoiled beauty of the region. We often found ourselves surrounded by serene landscapes, far from the crowds. This decision to explore off-the-beaten-path locations gave us a deeper connection to the natural environment and offered moments of pure peace and reflection. In summary, our adventure through Germany and Czechia was a perfect blend of nature, history, and friendship. The hikes, the awe-inspiring sandstone archway—the largest in Europe—and the delightful local cuisine made this journey worth every penny. For anyone looking to experience the scenic and historical wonders of these countries with friends, I highly recommend this trip. It was a 5-star experience from start to finish, and I can’t wait to explore more of Europe’s hidden gems!
This was an amazing trip and we would highly recommend it to others. Our guides were knowledgeable and very friendly. They walked us - literally - thru a wonderful day. The hiking was through beautiful and historical terrain and was exactly what we were hoping for. Suggestion: Give hikers a little less strenuous optional hike to the Arch - choose to go to the Arch or do something a little less steep. Otherwise, this was a perfect day!
It was an amazing tour. A lot to see and a lot of walking. you need to have a good condition to take this tour. We visited 3 different highlights and they are beautifull in their one way. I mostly liked the Basteibridge; the view and the nature are spectatulair. We were with a small group (7 persons), 4 of them were from HongKong and we came from the Netherlands. We had a lot of fun during the day and learned not also from this tour but also from HongKong. Also our guide could tell a lot about the history of these highlights. Compliments for her but also for the driver of our small bus. If you are ever going to visit Prague you should also see those hightlights. it takes a day to see them all but you learn and see a lot.
Excelent day spent in the nature! We wanted to go somewhere outside of the city, and this trip was wanderful option. Our guide Mira was very knowledgeable a nd funny, so the day went well. Thank you so much, I highly reccommend it!
Absolutely wonderful & fabulous place. Magnificent rock formations, exceptional views of the Elbe and the surrounding area.
When our friends came to visit, we were looking for an interesting local experience for them. Although I know Saxon Switzerland, Milan showed us a whole new view of this region. This also included excellent food and new interesting places. His professional and friendly approach contributed significantly to a great experience. It was just great!
