No hot water available. I was lucky one day and managed to have a slightly warm shower, but cold water in the mornings, afternoons and evenings every other time, even when there shouldn't be a high demand for it.
It really ruined the holiday, I should have trusted the reviews about a lack of hot water but I assumed it was an occasional problem, but staff say it affects the whole hotel every day.
The location is good and the price isn't too bad, IF there were basic amenities like hot water.
I would have booked elsewhere if I'd known it would be this bad. Maybe okay during the summer, but not in December.
Good location and reasonable price, but unfortunately no hot water for bath or shower.
Staff told us boiler is old and can't keep up with demand so if you try to shower in the morning or evening during peak hours, you will get cold water. Even during the day the water gets barely lukewarm.
Shame as location and building is nice but the lack of hot water is not acceptable for 4 star hotel.
I stayed at this hotel and overall it’s a nice and cozy place, with a pleasant atmosphere and a comfortable room. However, I had issues with the hot water on two different days, which made the stay a bit uncomfortable. Another downside was the bed: the double bed was actually made of two separate mattresses that kept sliding apart, which wasn’t ideal. The staff was friendly and helpful, but these issues definitely affected the experience. Overall a nice place.
Not bad location and the bed is quite comfortable. However there were stains on the sofa, a bug in the bed, hairs in the bathroom, and a terrible smell in the stairs and corridor. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was quite good but poorly arranged so very busy etc. We like quirky hotels but this just felt in desperate need of an update.
The room was awfully hot, as other guests have pointed out, the air conditioning has clearly been broken for ages. Opening the window doesn’t help, because all you hear is loud street traffic all night.
The bed was incredibly uncomfortable; mine was tilted on one side, and after just one night my back was sore. The water situation is another disaster: lukewarm at best, with barely any pressure when set to hot. You literally have to wait ten minutes just for warm water to arrive.
Not to mention the unpleasant smells from the kitchen every single morning, which drift straight into the rooms.
The entire hotel feels very dated. There is no way this should be rated as a 4 star honestly, it struggles to qualify as a 3 star. Breakfast is mediocre and extremely basic, often missing items. On top of that, the lady working in the restaurant was consistently rude, huffing and sighing every single morning as if guests were an inconvenience.
Overall, very disappointing stay. Would not recommend.
