Hotel Essence

Clean rooms, comfortable beds, good service. Breakfast super good. Friendly staff, good location, public transport good connections. What more does one need from a hotel 😀. Will stay again if I am in Prague

The hotel is very nice, in a great location and with great facilities. What lets it down is the reception staff and the confusion. Check in took about a minute. I didn't get any information except for what time breakfast was from. I had a massage booked and no one told me where it was. There is a hammam, no one told me where to find it and what time it was open. There are beach towels, again no one offered them to me, no information. Then I saw several guests in hotel bathrobes - again, I didn't get any, nor any information about where to borrow them. The information leaflet in the room should be visible and easy to find - it was in our desk drawer and we noticed it basically by mistake on the day of departure. I had to go to reception and I felt like an interrogator. I asked about 20 questions. But they were all things that someone should have told me automatically. I asked to borrow a bathrobe, I was told that there were none that day and that they would deliver it to me the next day. No one delivered the bathrobe to me until the end of my stay (I reminded myself twice). I wanted to buy dinner (I said so right when checking in), which on the website was 84 € per stay, but at the reception they told me that I would pay an additional 104 €. So 20 € more than if I had bought it on the website? There was no lactose-free milk at breakfast - they brought it to me on request, but what kind of attitude is that? There was also no description for any of the food, so it was impossible to tell what was what, if it was gluten-free, etc. A big disappointment for a 4* hotel. The highlight of everything was when we asked for a late check-out of 1 hour. First the lady at the reception asked for it for 30 minutes, kept us waiting, then said that she had to wait for information from the manager. Then no one told us anything and we went to ask another receptionist the next day. He told us that for 1 extra hour they want 80 €. So he could have just said no, right? :)

Everyone we encountered at the front desk was nice and uber helpful. Our flight was delayed and they held our room open well after the time we should have been out. The rooms are really nice, roomy, nice bathroom, and come with a coffee set up. Location is very good, just a short walk to the subway and center of the city. No issues with the location, it's just not right next to the main sights. I would easily recommend Hotel Essence.

I had a wonderful stay! The hospitality and kindness were exceptional, and the room was clean, neat, and well-equipped. The location is great; easy access to the tramway and subway, and within walking distance of Wenceslas Square and Old Town. I would definitely stay here again!
