Shared Braga & Guimarães Day Trip From Porto

This was a great tour! Antonio was great adding history as well as current information. We had plenty of time to enjoy all the sites and being a private tour made it even better because we were able to set our own pace! Definitely do this tour!!!

Well worth it! We ended up having to get a private tour, as not enough people signed up for the regular tour. I would highly recommend spending a bit more for this experience. Our guide Nuno was the best guide we have ever had. It was a very rainy day, and he picked us up at the door at every location throughout the day. He spoke at length about history, which we loved. He is very friendly, and he speaks perfect English. Bravo! A wonderful experience.

With a small group, this allowed us to explore many sites independently. We all set a time to meet at a certain spot. Highly recommend this small group tour! A miracle happens when people coming from thousands of km meet each other and each feels the kindness of real friendship. That was when we met Nuno. For the beginning we told about our interest in history and art. Nuno, patiently drived and told us the history of Portugal in a very good English language. I had a such a great day and experience at two beautiful cities of Braga and Guimarães. My tour guy Alex was very friendly, patience and giving me a lot of story’s about these cities and Portugal history in general.

Alex was our guide and he was amazing. He reviewed important background knowledge of Portugal's long history and government. He made us feel that we could take our time and feel like we are being transported back in time in every location we were at. He gave us space to take pictures and didn't push us to be quick or even push for a review. We really had a great time!

Couldn’t ask for a better day out of Porto with this informative and awesome tour with a very animated guide who winged it and did simultaneous English and French translation with finesse. Best driver too in her amazing and comfortable car!

The trip was fantastic and we were very fortunate to have Julio as our guide. He was an incredibly knowledgeable and amusing man and find in man gatos in my knowledge. Braga is a lovely town and I really enjoyed the walk up to the church.

My tour with another company was cancelled the day before so I went looking for another tour. This was the only tour still taking bookings for solo travelers. I booked in the afternoon the day before and received notice my booking and payment had been accepted but I will receive a confirmation email soon. After approx. 16hrs, no email/ phone call at all. I went to the pickup point where a guy on the phone told me they didnt even see my booking until 9pm the night before (5-6hrs after I booked it), the booking was not within 24hrs, and I was a solo traveler so my booking was not accepted. 1) how does it take 5-6hrs to even see a booking, and then no reply via email nor phone within 16hrs? Because of this I couldnt make other arrangements for the day, all other tours had begun. 2) if it must be within 24hrs, dont accept the booking (and payment), like every other tour on this website! In short, their service is terribly unprofessional and the only excuses i got were "its our busy season" and "its the website's fault". If being busy is a problem, get out of the game. Dont hide behind the website, other companies have figured it out and in the end it was YOU that failed to communicate. Edit: This review has been resubmitted after the company made contact with me to correct 1 point I misunderstood. However, as of right now (~12hrs before their next tour), they are still taking bookings on this website, against their supposed 24hr policy.

Very interesting tour - Julii was an excellent guide and the restaurant was also delicious. Lovely to find out more about Portuguese history and see beautiful towns.

We enjoyed a lovely day trip to Braga and Guimaraes with the energetic and informative Júlio! Learned lots about Portuguese history and culture and visited important historical churches and castle. Júlio adapted our small group tour to our wishes where possible. Lunch was authentic and delicious. A great day.

I’ve taken several tours in several countries with Viator and l have to say this is one was one of the best. The sites we visited really helped in understanding how Porto came to be. Lunch was superb. The guide, Julio was very informative, intelligent and knew his histories, anecdotal and otherwise. Even engaging in conversations outside the realm of ancient Portuguese history into the modern was very interesting. Plus he was funny, which made our experience more pleasurable.

Francisco was an amazing tour guide. Very on time and full of knowledge on the history and sites in Braga and Guimarães. By the end of the trip we felt we had made a new lifelong friend! He fully catered the experience based on our likes and preferences. He not only helped to show us the best of these two cities but gave helpful recommendations around Porto as well.

We had a wonderful day with Marcio. He is knowledgeable, courteous, patient, very mindful and an excellent driver! We enjoyed every site we visited. Guimarães was our favorite. The old town, the views. Marcio made us feel special always trying to show us more and giving us time to explore on our own. We liked it so much that we booked another tour (Douro Valley, lunch & tasting) the very next day with him again. So glad we did it. The lunch at Casa de Barros was an experience in itself. Beautiful property not too touristy, very tasteful and the typical food was the best... so were the wines and the ports we tasted. Do not hesitate a second to book these tours and ask for Marcio 😉

Excellent tour with André!! He explained in detail each place we visited in Guimaraes and Braga. Very attentive and friendly.
