Itinerary
Begin your unforgettable journey at the Touch Tours office, conveniently located in the heart of Porto. Meet your friendly local guide at 8:00 AM and board your comfortable small-group vehicle. Travel through the beautiful landscapes of northern Portugal and Galicia as you head towards Santiago de Compostela, one of Europe’s most famous pilgrimage destinations. Enjoy a scenic journey while discovering fascinating stories about the region’s history, traditions and culture.
Discover Santiago Cathedral and Praza do Obradoiro, the landmark square where pilgrims celebrate reaching the end of the Camino. Admire the cathedral facade and learn about its significance for the city. Any access to the cathedral interior follows opening arrangements, services and restoration works. Paid museum, rooftop and Portico da Gloria visits are not included.
Attend the Pilgrim's Mass, a central part of our visit to Santiago. Join pilgrims and visitors for this living tradition at the venue designated by the Cathedral. During restoration works, Mass may take place at San Agustin Church instead of the Cathedral. The Botafumeiro ceremony is not guaranteed. Service times and access follow the church's arrangements.
Explore Santiago's historic centre, with its stone streets, lively squares and traditional cafes. Enjoy time to discover the old town, browse local shops and choose a Galician restaurant for lunch at your own expense. This stop includes your free time and lunch break before the journey south to Valença. The sequence of Santiago visits may be adjusted around the Pilgrim's Mass.
On the return journey to Porto, stop in Valença do Minho for around one hour. Explore the historic centre within the fortress walls, stroll along its traditional shopping streets and enjoy viewpoints over the Minho River towards Spain. This stop offers a relaxed introduction to the border town before returning to Porto.
After a memorable day discovering the magnificent Santiago de Compostela and the historic fortified town of Valença do Minho, relax on your comfortable return journey to Porto. Your experience concludes at the original meeting point, the Touch Tours office at Rua Cândido dos Reis 105, conveniently located in Porto’s city centre.

It was a wonderful experience. The guide knew his information and he was interesting to talk with. I recommend 100%.
Tour with Tiago was amazing! Lots of interesting and helpful information. Very nice and professional tour guide. Will highly recommend it!!!!
Our contact was very kind but did not know much about Santiago de Compostela. He was more like a driver with some basic history than a guide who knew the area. He did not know about the church or area. He didn’t even have a lunch recommendation. We were disappointed.
Julio our tourist guide was very knowledgeble of the place. He had a great sense of humor which kept us awake during the trip. He made sure we were comfortable and safe the entire tour and also made sure we would get to the church before the start of the mass which was very important to us. He recommended a restaurant to go for lunch. He made made suggestions into what was the best dish on the menu. We were lucky to have him as our tour guide.
We were blessed to witness the swinging of the botafumeiro in Santiago de Compostela. David was great and very knowledgeable . He did not rush us so we were able to really enjoy our tour. He was also very considerate and attentive to my husband who just recently injured his knee. Thank you David for a very memorable experience!
Excellent experience! Our tour guide Julio was very accommodating and very knowledgeable! We were educated on local Galicia cuisine and the rest. Great History information about Portugal 👍🏼
Amazing experience great tour person very knowledgeable and friendly. The places the tour person took us were very nice 😊
This tour was well worth the travel time to get there. This was a magnificent spiritual experience. The priest were very accommodating for a non Catholic visit. The history and stories of the souls who embraced the space I felt.
Our Tour Guide, David, was a wealth of information! As we traveled from Porto to Santiago de Compostela we received a history lesson. It was engaging and informative, which we appreciated and the travel time went by fast. Once we reached the city of Santiago, David got us around quickly and efficiently. We stayed ahead of the crowds, made it to Mass then visited the tomb of St James and hugged the statue. It was amazing! On the ride home, David answered questions we had about Green wine and the various nuances of Port wine. It was a delightful day, exceeding all my expectations and I had very high expectations.
Carla was excellent. She was flexible to meet our wishes, very informative but not overload. She helped us inside the cathedral so we wouldn’t miss any experiences.
Our trip to Santiago de Compostela from Porto started early in the morning with an 8am pick-up. It was an all day trip so I suggest you get breakfast before hand. The weather was glorious and even though it was a 1.5 hour ride (in a comfortable Mercedes van), it went by quickly with Alex, our tour guide, educating us about the landscape and the landmarks along the way. Upon our arrival just before noon, we were able to attend the mass with the Pilgrims who take the 500 mile trip through Spain to arrive there after their long journey. It’s a magical town and we met up with my friend’s family who took us to lunch at a very special, local restaurant that we wouldn’t have found without them. We had such a lovely day and I wish we had more time to explore. On the way back, we stopped at Valença do Minho for lunch and shopping. I would recommend this day through Touch Tours (with Alex as your host).
We had a truly wonderful full-day tour from Porto to Santiago de Compostela with Julio, our tour guide and driver. From the start, Julio impressed us with his professionalism—he arrived at our hotel early to ensure we reached Santiago in time to attend the Pilgrim Mass on May 1st. Throughout the day, he was attentive and thoughtful, checking in on us often, especially while we were in the long queue for the Mass. Although the tour was originally planned for 8 people, it ended up being just our family of 4, and Julio was very flexible in adjusting the itinerary to suit us. His deep knowledge of the region, warm personality, and great sense of humor made the journey engaging and memorable. He shared many fascinating stories along the way and even recommended an excellent restaurant in Santiago that we thoroughly enjoyed. Julio is an outstanding guide and driver—highly recommended if you’re visiting Porto and looking for a meaningful and enjoyable day trip!
The trip was excellent Nice transportation Our tour guide, Tiago was a nice man He gave us information on the sites and the tour process Would definitely recommend
Our guide, Tiago, was wonderful! He was so knowledgeable and kind. We highly recommend him for anyone going on a tour in Porto!
What an awesome tour!! Our Tourguide Tiago, picked us up at our hotel on time. He very friendly, professional and knowledgeable, telling us the history of Santiago de Compostela and Porto. We had plenty of time to explore and visit museums, the marketplace and cute town. My family had a great time! We highly recommend this tour.
Excellent. Really worth the trip. Although I'm not RC, the service was an event especially with the incense burner! Beware low flying objects.
Excellent trip. Alex picked us up on time and was very friendly and helpful. Touch tours sorted out a pick up from our hotel to where the tour starting, really easy to arrange. The cathedral was a great day out. Alex gave us lots of local info and was a genuinely nice guy. Would definitely use again. Got us back to Porto on time.
Our tour director Tiago S. Was gracious knowledgeable and accommodating. He was a pleasure to travel with. We had an excellent experience.
Our driver was excellent and flexible. As it turned out, we only needed a one-way driver to Santiago from Porto, leaving our driver alone on his return. We had a short stop on the way and a quick overview of Santiago de Compostela, (I wouldn't call it a tour), but he made sure we checked into our hotel and were well-oriented before he left us. Because of the amount of our luggage (4 people), it was suggested that we upgrade to a mini-van, which was comfortable, but a 40% increase in price.
Santiago de Compostela is a spiritualized and great place to recharge the vital energies. Cathedral is wonderful
Fantastic! super recommend. Exceeded all expectations, sensational trip, absolutely amazing!
Santiago simplemente bellísimo Pero la vista de Viana do Castello espectacular. La atención de Carla Alves fue increíble. Hizo el viaje muy agradable. Gracias 🥰
Searching the site in Brazil I ended up choosing GetTransfer because I needed to go from Santiago de Compostela to Porto Airport in Lisbon. Combined time at 07.30hs Our car was a Grand Scenic. Our driver Miguel Carvalheiro was already waiting for us in the lobby of the hotel. Travel from 02.15hs quiet without stress. Super recommend.
We made 2 wonderful tours (Santiago de Compostela passing by Viana do Castelo and the Douro Walk). Our guide Tania made the difference. An excellent professional who did not measure efforts to please us. It exceeded our expectations. Arriving in Brazil, we indicated Tania to another couple who made the tours and also loved them. Note 10!
