Hail Paulo and Christina, What a whirlwind of a trip to Portugal. Thanks to you and your wife Christina our first experience in Portugal on the DouroBoatman remains our most memorable. Your warm welcoming personalities and informative narrative while passing under the seven bridges made our family feel right at home. The tasting was well orchestrated with choice cheese, carpaccio, olives, crackers, bread and olive oil paired with a wonderful selection of wines both sparkling and white. We couldn't have asked for more. The warm afternoon sun and beautiful scenery while touring the Douro river took our breath away. I chose the DouroBoatman after reading many reviews of your competitors, but none could compare with the charm and warmth felt by your passengers on the DouroBoatman. Having been a longtime fisherman, Paulo introduced us to a wonderful restaurant Sempre Assar I and it was most definitely the best seafood we had in all of Portugal. We did the sunset tour with captains Paulo and Domingos. Such nice gentlemen, who shared so many fun facts and stories about Porto and Portugal. Great artisanal vinho verde was served alongside a delicious board of cheeses and cured meats, and breads. This was the highlight of our short visit to Porto. Obrigado!

Really enjoyable 2 hour cruise of the river, our guide Ricardo was great, explained lots of interesting information about the river, bridges and Porto. He looked after us really well, the wine was flowing and the charcuterie board was lovely. The boat captain did a great job as the water was a bit choppy that day. Great relaxing experience would definitely recommend😃

Thanks Antonio & Frederico at @duoroboatman for a great 2 hours boattrip along Duoro under the 5 bridges. The were super nice, told us about what we saw, served Vino Verde and port with charcutieries (and home made jam by their mom). The sun was shining and the smoothe wind lovely. We 6 friends enjoyed every minute!

Wonderful experience on the Douro River, would 100% recommend to anyone visiting the area. Scenery was beautiful, crew was informative warm and welcoming, and food and wine were incredible. Would definitely book this experience again or for longer duration!

Got E-mail from a local coach company for a 7 day holiday to Jersey,booked it over the phone informed pick-up time to be advised later nothing about portage,found out we would be carrying luggage to Ferry,but sorted assistance and informed fellow passengers (22 off) they could get this if required.We was informed pick-up would be 2.30 am due to early ferry ideally should have travelled to Poole the day before.Day One travelling to Jersey with night in hotel,Day Two Jersey Island tour,Day Three War Tunnels + Afternoon Tea,Day Four Botanic Garden + Vineyard Visit,Day Five Free Day in St.Hellier,Day Six vacated room at 11 am coach at 4 pm to Ferry therefore not Seven Days in Jersey only six with the Seventh in Bournemouth due to a late arrival by Ferry. During this holiday a 92 year old Lady found it hard to get about but with care she managed with help from fellow passengers. This Coach Company should look at logistics regarding the passenger limitations.

My wife and I had a blast on this private boat tour. Paolo and his wife Christina were fantastic hosts. We saw great sights, had lots of good wine and cheese, as well as a lot of local knowledge about the area. It was a lot of fun and well worth it.

What a wonderful tour on the Douro River! Daniel was an excellent host, explaining the various bridges and other interesting sites along the trip. The boat was clean and very comfortable. The charcuterie board of cured meats and cheeses was great, as was the delicious wine and port. Daniel was a pleasure to talk with and an all around nice guy. I highly recommend his tour!

Excellent experience on July 31, 2026. Booked a private yacht for two and well worth the money. Paulo and Antonio were amazing. It was a two hour cruise that was informative, had excellent wine, port and tapas. Would absolutely book this experience again with these two gentlemen who made it a truly fabulous experience. Thank you both for making a wonderful afternoon very special for your two new Canadian friends Adrian and Maria.

Our boat ride during sunset was the highlight of our trip to Porto! The boat was in a pristine condition, we were offered port wine and traditional Portugese food during our time there which was very tasty and fulfilling. We were able to put our own music on the speaker which made the experience even more magical and unforgettable. The crew, Antonio and Luis, was amazing. They were polite, positive and very social, even suggesting us different places and restaurants to visit in Porto. They became a part of our dancing and we had some very quality conversations with each other. I would recommend this boat trip to anyone visiting Porto.

Absolutely unforgettable sunset boat cruise in Porto! Seeing all of the beautiful bridges from the water while sipping Port wine and having delicious snacks was such a special experience. Antonio and Marcelo made the trip even better. They were incredibly knowledgeable, shared so much fun and interesting information about Porto and its history, and kept the atmosphere relaxed and entertaining the entire time. You could really tell how passionate they are about what they do. We had the best time and would recommend this cruise to anyone visiting Porto! It was our favorite thing we did on our trip.

Worst cafe ever visited. On a nice sunny Sunday afternoon, dropped in for a coffee. We avoided the spill-over area where others were seated since the grass was up to their knees. You'd think they would mow it before the weekend. We found another table just outside the cafe looking over Narrabeen Lakes. The table was total covered in cups and plates and nobody was going around clearing tables like it. While my wife waited there, I went in to order. The server wouldn't take my order with a table number, so I went back to the table, moved some plates so that I could read the table number. I then ordered our coffees. Twenty five minutes later, a teenage boy arrived with our coffees and handed them to us to hold. I said, can you clear the table please. He sais, yes of course and removed just enough cups to make room for ours and left the rest of the mess on the table. This is a company that has gone down hill over the years in terms of maintenance and service. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Must do in Porto! You get to know the city as a whole. Paulo was extremely knowledgeable and took care of my family very well! They were attentive to our dietary restrictions and made us feel comfortable. Highly recommend!

Outstanding way to spend a few hours in Porto and to learn more about the history. Fantastic guides in Luca and Paulo who looked after us fantastically well.. Paulo and Christina were amazing! It was a great tour and they were so welcoming. Food and drinks were perfect. 5 very happy aussies enjoyed the afternoon and the homemade jams! We booked it same day, so grab if as soon as you can! Delightful afternoon. :) They also help with taking the best photos of the group!

Do this! We have a family of 6 and we reserved this tour so it was like having our own private boat. Paolo and Christina were so kind and informative, and the wine and food was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this tour!!

Highlight of the trip! Luca was so knowledgeable about the history of the buildings that we passed by, the food and wine was fantastic, and the boat was very nice. 10/10 recommend!

Great boat ride! Nicer and bigger than we expected! Great wine and charcuterie board! Did the 530 so watched the sun set, which was beautiful! Would highly recommend Paolo and company. Both were very informative and made sure we were well taken care of!

Delightful cruise down the Duoro with fabulous views at sunset. Paolo and his wife were wonderful and knowledgeable hosts, providing us with lots of local information and delicious snacks and wine. Christina's tomato jam was a hit! We felt it was worth every penny and would highly recommend.

Luca and Miguel were awesome private guides on this two hour trip. Perfect mix of history, great wine and getting oriented to Porto on our first day. There were super flexible and catered the trip to our needs!

We had such an amazing time with this tour!! Our group of 6 booked it last minute and it ended up being the best thing we did in Porto. Paulo was incredible and so kind, I cannot recommend it enough! He let us taste delicious wine and food, and was very knowledgeable about the city and its history. He took our pictures and made us feel so welcome aboard! We booked our trip for 5:30 which was the perfect time, as we got to see the sunset over the river and the city. I definitely recommend that timing for good weather and views. Overall we had an excellent time!!!

We booked this experience last minute to round out our last full day in Porto and it was the best! Captain Daniel and Christina was a pleasure, great music, conversation and the best cheeses and homemade tomato jelly (yes, tomato and it was the rave, they even sent us home with a jar). Daniel’s hospitality is top tier, he really went above and beyond. For example, he reached out before the charter to inquire if we wanted anything special for the excursion, he called in a favor at a great restaurant to get us in without reservations and to top it off he met up with us to have a cocktail. If you want an experience to remember, and someone that can help you navigate your time in Porto book this experience!

Captain Dan allowed us to go upriver instead of down, like the other tours do. Seeing the smaller towns and countryside was exactly what we wanted. Great wine and food and then he even booked a reservation for us for dinner at his favorite seafood restaurant on a packed Friday night. This was a perfect escape to avoid the crowds for even a few hours. Very recommend!

Daniel did a great job as our host on a nice water craft where we enjoyed the most beautiful views of Porto and learned so much. We were spoiled with delicious “green” local wine and a charcuterie with natural local cheese and meat selections. I can’t imagine a better way to experience this port city- and we were fortunate to have a guide that felt like a friend sharing stories and history.

This boat trip on the River in Porto was so much fun. The captain is very knowledgeable and has great suggestions about where to eat and what to do in Porto. His history about the River and the bridges is interesting. The food was good and the wine even better. Don’t miss this cruise!

The trip was beautiful and the wineries delicious. It’s a long day from Porto, so make sure you are ready to be in the car for a few hours. The food was also delicious. The service great!

I could not recommend this tour enough. It was the BEST time. Luis and Maneul were wonderful and the mixed foods bored was delicious! It did rain, a bit, but even in the rain the views were amazing! Luis was so knowledgeable and gave us so many recommendations!!
