Continuing in the direction of the Atlantic, we will enjoy the Cabedelo Nature Reserve, the romantic old Foz and the magnificent view of Barra do Douro surmounted by its emblematic lighthouse, this scenery is even more dazzling at sunset, a moment that is especially recommended for us . * Exit of the Bar to enjoy the city seen from the sea, this whenever the state of the sea allows and our guests intend, only and only in these cases. * Return to Marina do Freixo, our port of refuge, because more than two hours have passed. The boat ride was wonderful. it was completely personalizes for our group, and our captain Pedro was very nice had plenty of information about the city to share. We real enjoyed the trip!

We had a wonderful evening on our private boat ride down the Duoro River with Miguel. He knew his history and you could tell he was very proud of his city. Paolo was an incredible host! Booked the smaller boat and had the opportunity to upgrade to a larger vessel. Took that opportunity in a heartbeat... Small yacht and just the two of us. The upgrade also came with a small charcuterie... And had a couple of bottles of lovely green wine. Him and Christina were great hosts... Gave us the privacy when we wanted and knew when to step in and chat. Highly recommend!
We had a lovely trip with Paulo up and down the Douro river. He was super knowledgeable, very pleasant and great to chat to. The boat was great too. The kids lovely chilling on the bean bags as we cruised under Porto’s bridges. Even the wine Paulo chose for us to sip was perfect! Would 100% recommend!
Paulo was a terrific host. He was knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. The boat was super clean. We loved playing our own music and sitting on the comfy bean bags. It was such a pleasure having the boat to ourselves.
What an experience! My husband and I took the 6:30 pm tour with guide, Zé. He was incredible - fun, super knowledgeable on the bridges and adjacent areas, and gave us a ton of recs for the trip. He also served us the areas popular wines, huge plus. A tip: waters are choppy during the sunset part of the day, waters are still (with less boats) in the morning. I’m so glad we went the private route opposed to the larger boat, the experience was much more intimate.
We had an exceptional tour with Miguel yesterday. This was a perfect end to our holiday in Portugal… Miguel did a fabulous job, not only sharing with us the amazing history of the city, but also engaging our two tween boys who had a blast. This is the second time we have done an experience with this company and each time it has been just magical. We cannot recommend it enough!

We had a fabulous boat ride with Marcello on the Douro River. Porto is a beautiful city and you can’t beat the views from the river. Marcello was very knowledgeable about the history of Porto and pointed out so many points of interest. Our family of 3 enjoyed this private boat tour so much. He was both knowledgeable and personable and gave us fabulous tips for the remainder of our trip including going out of his way to get us a reservation at one of his favorite restaurants for lunch. Couple of hours trip along the river to the sea and return. Gives a great overview of the area from another perspective particularly if as we had done you have already completed Some land based activities. Boat was great felt safe, crew friendly and knowledgeable. We had superb weather which was a real bonus. Thanks to both crew you were great.

My wife and I did this tour on our final night in Porto, with our guide Marcelo. It was a truly magical experience, super relaxed and felt very special. Would really recommend doing a smaller, private cruise, especially as a couple. Along the way, our guide Marcelo gave us interesting information about Porto, and it was the right amount of information, we still had plenty of time to relax together. The 7pm slot meant we got to see the sunset too, which was extremely beautiful. Would easily recommend! Thank you.

My wife and I had an amazing experience on this private Douro boat tour in Porto! The intimacy of the tour made it feel incredibly special and relaxing. The green wine served on board was absolutely delicious, and the views along the Douro River were simply breathtaking. We cruised along the river and given a great history lesson about Porto and the Douro Valley. They were great with my son who had a fantastic time and the wine and port flowed. Increíble experience on the water with Paulo. Paulo has spent his life on the Douro River and is a wealth of information. Before we set sail they gave us some sunscreen to use as they could tell we would need it. That was so kind! Paulo was amazing. He answered all our questions and provided a lot of context about Porto. He also knew when we were enjoying our company and never intruded. We experienced so much of Porto’s history from the water. The Vino Verde and almonds were an added bonus. This is a must do experience and there is no one better to guide you than Paulo!

He was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and made my family feel comfortable from the moment we stepped on board. The views along the Douro River were absolutely stunning especially during the sunset, and Paulo shared just the right amount of history and local insight to make the experience even more special. The boat was clean, well-maintained, and the whole ride felt relaxed and enjoyable. You have the whole boat for 2 hours and they provide drinks( wines from the region) and snacks. It was the perfect way to see Porto from a different perspective. Highly recommend this tour. especially if you get Captain Paulo. It truly made our trip special.
Extraordinary experience touring the Douro with our warm, friendly and knowledgeable guide Paolo. It was a peaceful, beautiful ride in his boat, and we were amazed by the sights of the bridges and architecture on the river banks. 2 hours was the perfect amount of time for our trip. Paolo introduced us to some lovely green wine from the region, and then brought out a sip of porto as the trip came to a close. Sunset was spectacular, and we would highly recommend taking time to do this trip with DouroBoatman.
