Porto: Essencial Walking Tour 3 Hours

We had walking tours in 4 Portuguese cities. All had different guides. Elena was fantastic. She was one of the highlights of our time in Porto. She is highly xonn active and listened to our questions. She formed a great connection with my wife and discussed the Portuguese language with her at length.

We had a great tour with Elena OnTheRoad and went all over Porto. This was our first trip to the city, so we were excited for the tour. Elena was well versed on the history and sites within the city. We went to the market, which was filled with all sorts of food items and souvenirs, we sampled the local custard dessert, which was freshly made and practically melted in our mouth, we went to great photo opportunities and wide views of the river, we visited the train station, which is covered inside with beautiful tiles, we went to the cathedral area with another stunning view, and we concluded our tour with a Port Wine and cheese tasting. The tour was wonderful, but be ready to walk! Porto is uphill and downhill but stunning.

A rainy dreary day in Porto came alive with the vibrant experience provided by Elena! Despite the weather she helped create a day so memorable we forgot that rain was a challenge! The tile painting class was great fun- well organized and our instructor full of personality! Elena managed details and then coordinated a tour of the city via vehicle afterwards to make sure we had a full experience. I had crutches that complicated our movements but Elena had prepared in advance and knew how to arrange the experience for minimal challenge with my handicap and without it being a noticeable distraction. She combined her passion and compassion to provide the best experience for her guests!

We had 2 kids with us, she could perfectly integrate them so that it was engaging for all ages, and she organized a little treasure hunt for them. She also adapted the program to our interests. Another interesting thing is that you start from the newest part of the city until you get to the oldest heart. Historical information and curiosities are supplemented with advice on typical shops (from precious fabrics such as linen and cotton to quality food) where we then returned on our own to buy special souvenirs, and not discounted, instead of the most popular "cineserie". Elena is attentive to everything and is very empathetic. He was able to involve with a small treasure hunt with final Award our 7-year-old boy who walked enthusiastically feeling "great". Dulcis basically a surprise even for adults: the list of restaurants he provided us (I want to emphasize no for commercial purposes) allowing us to savor the typical tastes of Porto and live truly unforgettable culinary experiences both for the food tasted and for the people known in the small family-run premises.
