Amazing tour with great wineries and beautiful country! Michael our guide was so nice and informative. Lunch was included and very good. Also took a boat tour down the river. It was great and we highly recommend it!!

We had Leo as our tour guide. He was truly passionate about ensuring everyone had a great time and sharing his knowledge of both the area and wine. I was a little anxious about committing 9+ hours to this tour, but Leo put those concerns behind me as soon as we met him. Overall a good time and wish we would have had more time to continue our evening with him and the group!

Tour guide was a great host for the day. Knowledgeable, friendly, attentive and friendly. The vineyards were an amazing intimate experience of the simple beauty of the Portuguese people and culture. Truly amazing experience.

This was a wonderful tour to experience the different regions of Portugal, as you visit multiple wineries, enjoy a great lunch at a local restaurant, and take a boat tour to see the incredible scenery. The day was filled with great wine and food. Leo, our guide, was beyond exceptional - he was very knowledgeable and went out of his way to make the day very special with wine choices, food pairings, fun stories and special surprises. The small group atmosphere allowed for a intimate experience that would not have been the same with larger tour. This was an incredible tour and I highly recommend. Truly the best day ever! We had the absolute best time with Leo as our guide. He was so knowledgable on wine, a hoot to be around, and gave tons of recommendations for the remainder of our time in Portugal. Both wineries were stunning and all the wine we had was some of the best ever. The boat trip on the Duoro and all of the stops to take photos and look at the stunning views made this day extra special. Finished it off by being proposed to (so I may be a little biased that this day was my favorite). The rest of our group of 8 were so kind and we became good friends by the end. If I'm ever back in Portugal I would do this trip again, thank you so much for an amazing day and look into the Duoro valley.

We had the best time on this tour! Loved that it was a small group, and we had a great group of people. We enjoyed both wineries amd our guide Leo was awesome. The weather wasn't the best for the boat ride, but it was still pretty. Sr. Adriano at the second winery was our favorite. Definitely recommend!

The tour exceeded our expectations and I think it was mainly because of our awesome guide Ruben who made the whole trip very personal and special. He is extremely knowledgeable and provided commentary the whole journey except for the boat trip where he didn’t join for that part. The wineries were small family owned and felt quite unique along with tasting some delicious wines and awesome port wines. The tour was small with only 7 of us and very relaxed. Didn’t feel rushed at all and all of our questions were answered with some surprises along the way. I won’t spoil the surprises but let’s say you may get to experience some fun stuff throughout the tour. Highly recommend and if you can do it with Ruben, would highly recommend.

This tour is way better than the Viator description suggests. The two wineries selected are outstanding and the guide (Leo) is amazing. Enjoy!

This was a wonderful wine tour! The first winery we stopped in was so charming, personal, family owned and completely authentic. The gentleman that owned the winery could not have been more extending,charming, pleasant, and informative.The food and wine were delicious! Our tour guide Michael was incredible!!!!! Informative, extending great driver! Took us to so many scenic spots, we also had a delicious lunch all included in the price of this tour. He took so many pictures of us. Honestly he really could not have been nicer and could not have done a better job. We were a family of six and every single one of us enjoyed it immensely! I could not recommend this tour enough.

We were met by our delightful guide Michael who was full of knowledge but was also fun and very attentive to everyone’s needs. The wineries we visited were very quaint and informative. The experiences were unique, one including sitting around a beautifully set table in the room where the family still stomps the grapes at harvest and the other included climbing in a barrel that stores wine. The scenic drive through the valley and boat ride down the Douro River were spectacular. Our family would highly recommend adding this to your Porto plans! We had a wonderful 11 hour tour of the Douro River wine region with Andre. The tour was semi-private and shared with 5 other guests who greatly enhanced the experience. The day was just as described with visits to two wine regions, lunch at a traditional restaurant in Pinhao and a Douro River boat cruise. The first winery visited turned out to be the ancestral home of Andre’s family for 400 years. The table setting for our wine tasting and appetizers was very inviting and elaborate. It made us feel special that so much effort had gone into preparing the table setting. Andre was a very knowledgeable sommelier and the two wine bottle opening demonstrations make for a very interesting show. The second winery visited also was hosted by a sommelier who was a member of the multigenerational family who owned and operated the winery. This was also a very intimate and educational experience. Overall a wonderful day with beautiful scenery, gracious hosts, many fine wines to taste and a fun educational experience.

A full day of experiencing the rich history of portuguese winemaking, seeing the expansive and gorgeous wine country, and tasting fresh and carefully made wine. The drive out from Porto was about an hour and a half BUT our tour guide Leo made the drive fun and engaging. Leo was very knowledgeable about wine and a lot of fun to be around.

Had a wonderful time as a family of 3 traveling with a 13 year old. Great wineries and we could not ask for a better guide than Leo!

We had an amazing time on this tour. It was a small group, just our group of 5 and one other couple. Andre was very knowledgeable about wines and the region and very engaging. We couldn't have asked for a better tour guide. First we visited an amazing small family vineyard, where we got to walk around the beautiful property and learned about the history of wine making. The wines were fabulous (and priced very well) and they offered meats, cheeses and other pairings. Then we had a delicious portuguese lunch before taking a boat tour of the area. The wines at the second winery were also very good and the tour guide was excellent. We even got to go inside of a wine barrel. Everyone agreed it was the highlight of our trip to Portugal.

If you want to truly experience the Douro Valley, this is the way to do it. André is so passionate about what he does and about the place he was born, and that passion makes this experience truly one of a kind. I don’t want to spoil all the surprises, but the personal touches and unique moments are something you simply won’t experience any other way. André was knowledgeable, funny, warm, and you can genuinely see how much he loves sharing his home and his story. This was an amazing experience and a highlight of our time in the Douro Valley!

This is by far the best tour ever! My second time doing it, once with my friend Christina and this time with my husband I had Andres the first time, and he was so knowledgeable, and fun. This time we had Michael, and he was just as good as Andres. The tour takes you to the Douro Valley to Andres' dad property, where you learn about the vineyards, olive trees and Kiwis. The property itself is the highlight of the tour. Seeing Adriano again (the father) was wonderful. We had a wine tasting in a most wonderful cave like setting, and served "Portugues Sushi" Then on to a great lunch in Pinhao, a boat tour, some sightseeing along the way and a finale at a Port vineyard. I will be back!

This is truly a day not to miss. Guides, sommeliers etc. were all superb. I hadn't expected to start the first wine tasting at 10 am, but it certainly gave us a great start to the day, leading to a fun climb into the barrel. Lunch was good, and the boat trip on the Douro beautiful. This was all a precursor to the grand finale with a wonderfully eccentric local producer. Many corks were removed, some with swords, others with red hot tongs. The host and guide were happy for us to stay and talk into the late afternoon. Truly a marvellous day.

Leopoldo is so fantastic! We had the best time traversing from Porto to Douro Valley and around to a few Quintas. The wine and views were incredible. It’s a long day and well worth the time!

This tour went beyond our expectations! Michael, our guide and sommelier, provided a fabulous experience for our group of 6. He shared his knowledge of wine and wine production throughout the day in a way that was engaging and helpful to all. He kept the conversation open and lively, and welcomed all questions. The two vineyards that we went to were impressive family-owned and operated facilities. The warmth and appreciation shared from the proprietors was genuine and made us all feel so welcome. A unique aspect of this excursion is that one vineyard is in the Vino Verde area and the other in the Douro Valley. This offered a better contrast of the types of wines. It also gave our group a better understanding of the different grapes / wines and we all found wines that we enjoyed that we likely would not have tried ourselves. In addition, the food was tremendous!! The opening breakfast and the mid-day lunch were well thought and paired well with the wines we tasted (15 through the day). We enjoyed the boat ride to have a spectacular view from the river level to the surrounding region. I can’t say enough about how all members of our group were so impressed with all aspects of the day. If there is availability, you will want to pick this tour!! We visited Porto in April 2026 with friends and booked a Douro Valley wine tour that exceeded every expectation. The day included visits to two fantastic wineries, a stunning boat trip along the Douro River, a delicious lunch, and plenty of exceptional wines and ports to taste throughout the experience. Our guide, Andre, was outstanding. From the very beginning, he made everyone feel relaxed and welcome, and his knowledge of the region, wines, and local history really added something special to the tour. His personal approach made the whole experience feel authentic and memorable. We’ve been on wine tours in countries including South Africa, France, Germany, Cyprus, and Greece, but this was easily the best we’ve ever experienced. Fantastic value for money and highly recommended

Our guide Leo helped to make it a great day. It was a bit rainy but we still had a beautiful time. There were 8 guests total on our tour. All was just as described. It’s a lot of riding in the van but each stop was worth it. A lot of knowledge was shared about wine, Porto, and Portugal. Everything was very well planned and scheduled. Leo kept us on time without making us feel rushed. There are so many fun experiences throughout the day. You may have second thoughts about a 10 hour tour but you should do it. Even with the clouds and rain that we experienced, the views were incredible.

Leo made this an excellent fun and interesting wine tour. Everything went to plan from pick up point to drop off. I would highly recommend this day tour.

Honestly, I think the second winery saved this tour for me. The gentleman who owns Quinta de Sta Maria vineyard was such a kind and knowledgeable man and taught us more than about wine. Our guide was also very nice and knowledgeable but two things kinda stood out that kept it from being a great tour: 1) the AC in the van was not working 2) we didn’t really spend as much time in Douro wine valley as I would have expected for it being the whole purpose of the tour. We drove an hour in between wineries and felt like that was a waste of time and also with no AC in nearly 80 degree weather was not fun. The food served to us was just ok but plenty as it also came with wine, dessert and espresso at the end:

The wine tasting here was superb. Lunch was very good and the cruise down the Duro river was relaxing. The second vineyard was also great a little more on the standard side but very informative and the wine was also good. You will no regret booking this tour.

Andre was a such a warm and knowledgeable guide! We enjoyed all of our stops and learned a lot about the area and the wines/ports produced. Very accommodating - we had a baby and a vegetarian. Highly recommend!

What a fantastic tour! We had a wonderful time on this day trip to the Douro Valley and the Vinho Verde region with Andre, our tour guide. Our first stop at a family-run winery in Vinho Verde was a very special experience. We tasted many delicious wines (with a few light food pairings) and got to participate in a couple of fun and unique bottle opening experiences. Lunch was delicious (I loved the duck rice) and the boat tour was lovely (our tour guide did not join us for this, and we were with a few others outside of our group, but it was still great and absolutely stunning scenery). The second winery was not as unique (definitely a place that sees more tourists), but was still very enjoyable. Andre is an absolutely delightful tour guide - he knew so much about the wines and the regions and taught us a lot. He is also fun, kind, and entertaining and really made this tour a very memorable experience. I highly recommend this tour!

Our grapes journey tour was 10/10. Our guide Leo was incredibly overqualified. He has lived many lives as A decorated chef, small brewery owner, Sommelier And a great conversationalist. I attended the tour with my wife and 8 month old daughter. Our group of 8 had one other couple and three solo travelers. The small group setting was wonderful and allowed us to have incredibly informative and intimate tours. First a small yet high quality winery in Douro, than a second larger but still family owned (for hundreds of years) winery in the vino verde region. I do not wish to spoil it, but the second winery in vino verde was my favorite. The proprietor is an incredibly kind and generous gentleman who even had one of his granddaughters helping out with serving. (You may get drunk at this second stop; they are very generous!) It was a marvelous day and was very accommodating to our little one. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who likes wine, and wants to have a once in a lifetime experience. Note: you really do learn a ton about how wine making works in Portugal as well as about port specifically. I later attended a cellar tour in Porto; and already knew it all.

We really love this experienced. Michael our tour guide is so nice and even helping the wineries served and taking pictures. The last vineyard we went was the best. They even give you sample of the wine. First one was also good. We will definitely recommend this tour. It’s worth the money you spent. The lunch alone is so worth it. Delicious food. Absolutely a must go. The tour was terrific, I can’t say enough about how amazing our guide Andre was. So much knowledge mixed with humor. Just an all round terrific guy who loves his home and the wines of this region. The tour really introduced me to some wines I would normally avoid and I found some ports I really love ( something I thought I hated because I was drinking the wrong types). Just a beautiful day with a nice small group.

His connections with the various stops along the tour seemed like a day out with some friends. The wines and wineries visited were outstanding. Beautiful scenery, well paced. This was a great day!!
