João was a fantastic host and guide as he talked us through the history of the region and the 6 bridges. From the yacht to the food and wine, everything was exquisite. The ride into the Atlantic to watch the sunset was truly beautiful and is something we will remember forever - 1000% recommend!!!

Booked on very short notice (like 4h before start) - not a single issue. Enjoyed the ride just the two of us with the best view, lovely drinks and snacks. Can definitely recommend!

The experience on the boat was absolutely fantastic! ❤️ This time, it was a special experience just for the two of us — watching the sunset over the Douro while enjoying a delicious selection of cured meats, cheeses and fresh fruit, accompanied by a wonderful wine tasting. 🍷🧀🌅 Everything was perfect, from the atmosphere to the beautiful views. We had an experience of a lifetime! My family of 8, from 14 to 50 years old, will never forget our Opo boat tour! Alberto was a very friendly and informative guide, the food and drink was amazingly good, and the entire night was magical. Even though I've been living in Porto for four years, seeing the city from the Douro River gave me a completely different perspective. The views were breathtaking, and as the sun slowly set over the river, Porto felt more beautiful than ever. The boat was spotless, very well maintained, and everything felt safe and comfortable. The crew were incredibly friendly, welcoming. The captain also timed the route perfectly, allowing us to enjoy every stage of the trip. We booked a private boat and spent days creating our own playlist before the trip. As each song played, it blended naturally with the changing scenery—the golden light, the bridges, the river, the sea breeze. If you're celebrating a special day, I highly recommend booking a private boat. Bring your favourite playlist, open a bottle of wine, put your phones away for a while, and simply enjoy the view. It transforms a beautiful cruise into a memory you'll carry with you for years. Highly recommended. We'd do it again without hesitation.

This boat tour was the highlight of our visit to Porto. Alberto was the perfect guide and his boat is beautiful. It easily accommodated the 6 of us and could probably comfortably handle 8 or 10. He had great recommendations for food and activities and gave us the highlights while also letting us just enjoy the views and each other’s company. His assistant served us drinks and we covered all 6 bridges and out to the Atlantic. Highly recommended!

Our evening began with us stuck on a bridge and missing our original boat tour with another operator. As we stood at the marina looking pretty defeated, Alberto noticed us and kindly offered us spots on his boat, which was leaving within minutes. Now, my mom always taught me not to talk to strangers….. but when the stranger has a boat and you’re stranded at the marina, sometimes you take the chance. And wow, was it the best decision of our trip. Alberto was incredibly knowledgeable, welcoming, and an absolute pleasure to spend the evening with. We were treated to delicious local wines and snacks, and when the evening cooled down, blankets were thoughtfully provided to keep us comfortable. The green wine was especially memorable, an absolute treat! What could have been one of the worst days of our trip quickly became one of the most unforgettable, all thanks to Alberto. He truly turned the entire day around. I’d even go so far as to say that a trip to Porto would feel incomplete without a sailing experience with Alberto and OPO Boat Tours. We had a wonderful river cruise with Alberto and his crew. Delicious cocktails. Fabulous views of Porto and Gaia and the bridges. His warmth, hospitality, and history made the excursion so special. The cruise is so relaxing. Bare feet lounging on comfy cushions on the bow of the boat, taking in the amazing vistas. What could be better? Can’t wait to try the sunset version when we return.

I cannot recommend these guys enough. This is our fourth tour with Alberto, and every time we have guests in town, we always book a tour with him, and every single time it is everyone’s favorite day of the trip. Alberto and Mr. Camilo know even before we do what we’ll need to be comfortable, and enjoy our trip. They offer blankets just as it gets cooler out by the ocean. If you book the food and wine option, there’s always a new course or drink just at the right time. Alberto owns the company and does all the tours himself. He’s such a wonderful person to spend time with, and having grown up in Porto, knows so much about the area, the history, the architecture of the area, and is a genuine and incredibly kind person. He has two boats, one a little bigger than the other. Both are very comfortable, and always in great condition. Additionally, as an LGBT+ family, we have always felt nothing but respected and cared for with Alberto and his team. We don’t even think about it with them. We always look forward to the blissfully relaxing and gorgeous days on the water with OPO Boat Tours. You won’t regret it!

Review: Fantastic private boat experience along the Douro River. The views of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia were spectacular, especially passing under the iconic bridges and seeing the Dom Luís I Bridge from the water. The cru, boat was comfortable, relaxing, and perfect for enjoying the scenery. It’s a wonderful way to experience the city from a completely different perspective. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Porto, especially for a romantic outing or special occasion. Truly memorable. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We hired the yacht as a group of 5, to celebrate 3 fiftieth birthdays. We took the 2 hour option and added the cheese and meat charcuterie board. We also had a selection of lovely drinks. The trip was fantastic, slowly sailing the river from the Atlantic, under the 6 bridges and back to the marina. We were given amazing commentary explaining everything we saw and were allowed to sit on the top deck and relax. All in all, a truly amazing trip well worth every penny. In addition, the weather forecast was terrible and I was able to change the date of our booking directly. Brilliant service. Thank you.

Our travel planner had done a lot of research regarding private tours and highly recommended OPO Tours. Was he ever right! Even before getting on the yacht, Alberto, the captain reached out to me to make sure we had a personalized experience. The trip along the Douro River was so relaxing. We saw and learned about the bridges, the wineries, the buildings etc. A variety of drinks were offered. I would highly recommend the white port tonic. We opted to pay extra for a charcuterie board which was plentiful and accompanied by fresh fruit. Well worth it while enjoying the relaxing ride and drinks. I was surprised with a birthday cake which was so thoughtful and made for a great ending to a wonderful trip. Thank you Alberto and Mr Camilo for your attentiveness and an unforgettable trip down the Douro!

From start to finish this was fantastic; we were incredibly fortunate to have the perfect sunset which made it even more memorable . The team went out of their way to look after us ; welcome drink with crisps , commentary on all the river sites and bridges : paid extra for the cheese/meats and fruit which were beautifully served . Blankets if you needed .. a great way to celebrate a special birthday with friends .Finished off with port and chocolate. Highly recommended.

Opo Boat Tour was the highlight of our trip! It was a unique private experience and we are so glad we did this experience rather than a big group tour. Alberto was amazing! He is very communicative, attentiveness, informative and really made the whole experience 10/10! We were a party of 6 with 2 kids, and he was great with the kids! Tour never felt rushed and learned a lot about the history of Porto! The food and wine pairing is a must! We are still talking about how this was the highlight of our trip and something we’ll look back on! We look forward to booking again next time we’re back in Portugal!

My boyfriend and I had a great time. Very chill romantic sunset cruise. Unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate with our much wanted sunset but the crew did everything possible to make sure we still had the best time. I would highly recommend this river cruise and the charcuterie. The drinks they served were great and the port wine to end it off was delightful. The crew was so amazing and nice it made our time much better and also gave us some great history about Porto. Would definitely do again when back in Porto!

I fully recommend this tour specially the 7pm one (during summer) so you can enjoy the most magical sunset in Porto. Alberto Moreira and his crew made my 35th Birthday celebration a special one to remember. They offered me and my family local wine, drinks and even surprised me with a delicious red velvet cake. Boat is beautiful - Alberto is a good host and gives some history and some time for family time. Very engaging to children age 8 and 11. Three lovely drinks and snacks included. Flexible in drop-off location. The boat is nice but what makes it special is Alberto who is perfect host. Don’t be put off by departure from Marina. It is 15 minute and €7 Uber from Ribeira. Go for it you will not regret!

I can’t recommend this boat tour enough! Cruising along the Douro River was the highlight of our trip to Portugal. Alberto is everything you’d want in a guide: incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about what he does. He shared fascinating insights about the six iconic bridges of Porto and the city’s rich history, all while keeping the mood relaxed and engaging. He even made delicious cocktails for us on board — a perfect touch that elevated the entire experience. The tour lasted about 1 hour and 45 minutes, and every second felt personalized and memorable. It’s rare to come across someone who goes so above and beyond, especially on such short notice. If you’re visiting Porto and want a boat tour that’s authentic, well-informed, and hosted by someone truly special, we couldn’t recommend this tour more highly. He turned what could have been a ruined evening into one of the best memories of our trip.

This experience was absolutely amazing and out of this world! The city of Porto is magical on its own, but Alberto and his team surely know how to elevate the experience. Everything from facts about the city, to a sample of oranges from his own backyard, all that was supplied by them. If you are thinking about it, do it it’s so worth it!

It was one of my the best travel experience.. Porto is beautiful city, very charming, city with beautiful architecture, you can feel history in every meter of the city.. But the most important part is that people are so friendly, and you don't have a feeling that you are one of tourist, you will one of them..
