Porto Wine Tasting Experience With Portuguese Tapas Plate

Really interesting learning about the wines, what to look for, and what surprised me, was how nice a good red wine is. As don’t normally drink red wine.

Rita's enthusiasm and knowledge about the history and significance of the wine industry in the Duoro made this experience very special. We also really appreciated her clear explanation about what is involved in assessing each of the wines we tasted. The venue is superb and the presentation impeccable. We enjoyed the experience greatly and highly recommend it to others.

Our host Priscilla was funny and very knowledgeable about the wines. She told us the process of each wine.

The atmosphere was lovely and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The wine and pairings were incredible and made this event very memorable.

Fantastic evening tasting local wines. Knowledgeable host. Only slight criticism was that it wasn’t clear from the entrance that we were at the right location. Some additional signage would help.

This was a fantastic experience. Even my husband, who does not really enjoy wine had a good time and was able to find a few pours that he liked. The tapas were excellent; there was meat, cheese, olives, and jam. Would recommend, and would do again.

Read your email in detail to find the venue which does not have a big sign. Once inside it is a lovely light space & very well set up. The host was knowledgeable & entertaining

Very nice and informative session on lovely rooftop setting. Our guide was very well-versed in the wines and methods we sampled, discussing the vintner’s methods and effects of the terroir and climate on the processes. We enjoyed the sampling of pairing wine with various tapas tastes and the effect of viable pairings on the enjoyment of the wines. Who knew about White Port and the body of the Rose? Fun session, lovely setting. Obligado!

Great tasting! Very educational with a small, personalized group. The perfect amount of time to relax and eat and drink.

Lovely time tasting different Douro wines led by Rita . Enjoyed chatting to the other people on the experience. Lasted about 1.5 hrs. The tapas plate of cheeses and ham, crackers and a fig jam worled well when trying them with the various wines. Finished the event with a Port made by the same company that made the wines.

Fabulous location and highly curated experience. Nice substitute for us as we did not have time to go to Douro but we got to sample their wines.

Rita was so good. She explained everything and allowed us the time we needed to enjoy each wine. Not rushed along at all. I was a solo traveller and I was sat with 4 other solo travellers. We had a great time and even went for drinks afterwards. The wine, and the white port, were all amazing as was the cheese and ham. The venue is beautiful and the staff amazing. Definitely worth booking this.

Amazing experience. Gemny our guild was superb her knowledge and vocabulary were second to none. Made the experience very exciting, I personally don’t drink but she made me want to try all of the wines!

Rita was brilliant and the wine tasting experience was terrific.

The experience was not pleasant! The meeting point was changed last minute. The guide was unprepared and unprofessional. The wine tasting was not up to par. The wine was poured in the same glass as the one before. The boat ride was just as bad. I would not recommend this tour and will not be using this company in the future. I will be filing a formal complaint against them when I return home.

Really fun way to spend a few hours. We now know so much more about not just Portuguese wine but table wine and port in general plus how you pair wine and food. Lovely setting, very friendly team. Highly recommend.
