Joao was fabulous! Very friendly, easy going and knowledgeable. We traversed the Porto neighbourhoods and learnt about the building architecture and history. I highly recommend this intimate, personable and informative tour. Worth every euro! Obrigada Joao!!
Fabulous local guide who provided in depth knowledge about Porto historic town and history. Plus, you get to skip thr long lines at the Lello Bookstore.
Really knowledgeable tour guide, very friendly and helpful. It was great to see all around the city.
The small group walking tour of Porto is a must to-do! The history comes alive as you tour the city. Barbara was our guide. She was highly knowledgeable and delightful to engage with! Without Barbara’s details, we would have missed so much. TIP: Book a tour that includes a ticket for the Livraria Lello. The lines outside are CRAZY and with a group tour, you get to skip the line.
Our guide was fun, personable, and very knowledgeable about her beautiful city, Portugal! The views were incredible on our tour and we learned so much! It was a blast and a great way to get a feel for the city!
Our tour experienced issues with holiday availability, followed by meeting point changes, and finally inability to find our guide. We finally punted & joined a guide that was doing a free walking tour. In fairness, the tour team went out of their way to accommodate our bookstore visit on a different day than scheduled.
Ricardo, our tour guide, was one of the best guides we've ever encountered. He was charming, polite, personable and oh so knowledgeable - there wasn't a question he could not answer. He took us from Porto's cathedral through the old town to the famous Lello bookshop. He even arranged for a charming coffee break in Porto's famous tiled train station. At every stage of our walk he managed to bring history back to life. We thoroughly recommend this tour - it is so worth it and leaves you satisfied, entertained and educated.
Barbara was an awesome guide. She is very knowledgeable & passionate about Porto. She pointed out lots of interesting things you wouldn't know if you walked around by yourself.
What has been said about Porto is true. Be prepared for cobblestones and elevation change. A good pair of walking shoes is a must. Helps to be a little bit in shape as well. Also, our tour guide was excellent! She was well versed, pleasant and, above all, patient. Made the whole experience special.
Barbara was a fantastic tour guide! She is so knowledgeable and just a sweet all around young lady. We highly recommend her. ❤️
Barbara was an excellent tour guide. She was very personal and funny. Her knowledge base was exceptional.
Wonderful and passionate about portos history. Pedro gave us an amazing overview of this wonderful city
Always good to have a “local” tour guide! For cruises, some people may prefer starting the tour closer to where the ship’s shuttle drops you off.
We had an excellent guide in Catriana for our 3-hour walking tour which included a VIP fast pass entrance with voucher to the famous Lello bookshop alongside excellent news about the history and visits to key sites around Porto
Such an awesome tour. Lots of walking but definitely worth it. Our guide Barbara was too good. Great opportunity to take pics if you like taking pics.
Barbara our tour guide was excellent. We'll informed and professional. Excellent way to learn history, see beautiful architecture and find a great book.
The best part of our tour was our tour guide Mia. She was knowledgeable, interesting and knew all sorts of details about her city. I would definitely go on another tour with her.
Tour guide Mia did a great job! She showed us some historical spots and then also gave us a great list of local restaurants and other activities to look into. Great tour! Thanks so much.
We wanted to go into some of the attractions and could not. When I booked, I asked to go in the cathedral and the Lello Bookstore.
Got cancelled due to weather. MANY other tour groups were going, so it was very disappointing. We were able to get the tix to the library, so we at least had that.
Our private tour was great! Rosa Reis was our wonderful tour guide. She was very knowledgeable and courteous! I highly recommend it.
Melissa was so AMAZING!!! We learned so much about Porto, saw places we didn’t know about!!! She was incredibly informative and very funny. Her beautiful smile and charming personality makes her the PERFECT tour guide!!!!! We would take a tour with her again!!!! She was THE BEST!!!
The tour guide Melissa was charming and informative. The trip felt like walking through history, and Melissa knew all the stories.
We did the Private Walking Tour with the Livraria Lello this morning. My wife and daughter enjoyed this tour and our guide was amazing. However I did not enjoy this tour at all. It simply did not interest me and seemed to me to be an expensive waste of three hours.
The history of Portugal and our guide was so knowledgeable .Rosa Reis was very informative and gave us a great knowledge of Portugal .
I regret that I have forgotten the guide’s name because he remembered ours as we said goodbye at the end of a fantastic walking tour. Our guide was a history graduate who gave us a detailed and fascinating insight into Porto’s history as we walked around the old town. Our walk finished at the amazing Lello bookshop where he sorted out a difficulty that we had with our ticket, entirely of our own making. I would thoroughly recommend this tour.
Our guide was very informative, friendly and appeared to throughly enjoy his job. He was aware of everyone in our group at all times.
Excellent walking tour. Extensive and most informative. In addition to the usual attractions, we were taken to more unknown and interesting places like the first hospital in Porto. Guide was very knowledgeable and kind! Five stars!
Our guide Rosa was an amazing resource. The scope and breath of her knowledge was exceptional. We were provided a slow paced tour of Porto and university quality lecture on the past 1000 years. In addition to having a living history and connection, Rosa gave a personal story of the city from past and into present and was receptive to questions that few others could answer. It was like being shown the town by s good friend or close relative. The experience gave much insight and understanding that will forever leave an impression. Highly recommended, a must do when visiting Porto.
We got lucky three ways. The first is that my wife and I were the only people who booked. The second is that we had Melissa as a guide (what a pleasure). The third is that this is a great tour. It's casual, but informative, a stroll in a beautiful city with a new friend. It also includes admission to the Livrario Lello - which means that you get to skip the long line of people who don't have tickets. Doesn't make the bookstore any less crowded, but still. The price of admission is also deducted from any purchase
Roza was an amazing tour guide. She was very friendly and highlighted the history of porto. We made several stops and she always provided a histrionical context of each site we visited. She was very patient with our children and went out of her way to answer their questions. We definitely recommend Roza as a tour guide.
Energy, pace, information was all on point. Would highly recommend early in trip, he gave great tips for whole trip.

Our tour with Ricardo was fantastic! He was very knowledgeable and amicable as he took us on a tour of the major highlights in Porto. The walking tour was feasible for both me and my mother, and we got to see the Se Cathedral, the bridge as a pedestrian, Sao Bento train station, Avenue dos Aliados, Rua da Flores, several other cathedrals, and more. What was really great was how Ricardo gave informative and interesting information for each area so it didn't feel overwhelming but rather a solid historic overview of the city and its quirks. His passion for the city and showcasing it to visitors was evident.

Many things to see boat cruise on the Douro cable car to go from the upper town to the lower town good restaurants, beautiful monuments ...
