We had a great tour with Mayinka. We were in Porto on a Sunday which meant many sites were not open but Mayinka did a fabulous job of introducing us to the city and showing us places we would never have found on our own. She adjusted the tour for our specific interests and we enjoyed her energy and enthusiasm for Porto.

Our tour guide Mayinka was amazing, professional, and patient. She was super knowledgeable and made our tour interesting with facts and history and anecdotes. She introduced us to many local businesses along the way and took us to interesting places.

Our guide, mayinka was very nice and filled our time, but we didn’t realize that very a few restaurants or markets are open on Sunday, so the food part of the food Tour was a little lacking.

We had a very limited time in Porto and this was a great way to get the most out of it. When I booked, I received a questionnaire asking what our interests were - art, local cuisine, architecture. We were paired with Mayinka who reached out before the tour to help coordinate and plan our tour. She is bursting with energy and enthusiasm for the arts and for Porto! We started off with a visit to a food market, where she arranged tasting of olive oils, local cured meats, and other things we expressed interest in. Then we were off to a chocolate shop for more tasting, and she showed us several local restaurants she recommended highly. After that we were walking here, there and everywhere. The benefit of the private tour was that we were able to skip things we had already seen (the famous bridge of Porto), and see unique street art we would never have known to look for! Mayinka knew all the history and fun stories as well. I really appreciated her in-depth knowledge of the current local art scene, it really helped bring the city alive to us! It’s a great way to spend a morning in Porto. Highly recommend!

Malwina(Mayinka) was amazing! I have trouble walking and she met us at our hotel to start the tour. She explained everything beautifully; she is extremely knowledgeable about food and Porto history. She introduced us to a fabulous variety of food and drink in an area near us through both the market and a private café. She took us to an amazing chocolate shop where they have local chocolates and flavored oils in tubes, which is something I have never experienced. She was helpful, entertaining, sweet and kept the whole tour at a pace that I could handle with my disability. She made the day extremely pleasant/wonderful for my husband & me! She also took me to a wonderful shop where they had handmade Portuguese porcelains that I wanted to see, between food shopping/tasting! I recommend her 100%!!

My guide was Cátia who was absolutely fabulous. I was 22 weeks pregnant when I was on the tour with her. She was very considerate and was able to adapt to my comfort level since it was a walking tour. My husband and I enjoyed all the stories she told us about Porto and each site we visited. After spending a week in Lisbon, I wasn’t sure I really liked Porto, but Simon won us over with the true hidden gems of Porto. Of course we hit the highlights, the cathedral and the churches, but then we ventured into the hidden side streets, where the real people of Porto live among the ghosts of the past. From the people, and friendly cats to the colorful homes and narrow passages, we were charmed. The magic of Porto even has me writing a very lyrical review.!!

This was the worse tour Ive booked through Viator.i did not feel at all that Simon really understood our interests as we stood and chatted about his past life for quite awhile before starting. Then once we started he admitted he doesn’t know any dates of many events. I felt like this tour was going no where and had no plan nor information of any interest. Disappointed in viator with this. We stopped the tour in an hour !

We saw so much of Porto on this tour and our guide customized it to our interests. Get ready to put in some walking miles with lots of inclines!

Our guide was sometimes difficult to understand. She would talk to one person not our entire group of 6. Sometimes she would just walk ahead and not paying attention that the 83 year old in our group was having g trouble keeping up. Also, since we told her we had a tuk tuk the next day, she decided to take us to places we wouldn’t see on that tour. These were not very interesting attractions and very far apart.
