We experienced this trip on the last day of our 14 day vacation and were wondering whether we even really wanted to go. The answer is a resounding yes! This excursion was wonderful and was one of the highlights of our trip. Ricardo was amazing and made this so much fun. The views were magnificent and the off roading so much fun! Do ‘t give it a second thought……DO IT!

I can’t speak highly enough of this tour. The off road part was hugely exciting and enjoyable. The views were fantastic Josue was a fantastic guide. He was entertaining, informative and nothing was too much trouble for him. Included in the tour were cookies at the beginning and drinks at the end. This is a tour not to be missed.

This was more fun than grownups should be allowed to have! Our guide communicated with us before the trip, and picked us up right on time outside the Cruise terminal. His Land Rover was cleaning comfortable. We had an amazing, thrilling off-road experience through the beautiful mountains outside of Porto. We discovered a tiny village where only six people live. We had drinks at a small riverside cottage. The guide gave us the option to be taken back to the ship or dropped off in Porto. The entire experience was well curated, exciting and enjoyable. I would do this again tomorrow if I could..

Riccardo was very organised and provided a fantastic experience of Portugal. He provided us with information on living in Porto and the natural and cultural environment.

From the booking to we were dropped off , the experience was fantastic. We would both say this trip was highlight of a very nice stay in Porto. To leave the business of the beautiful city and experience nature in the mountains valleys, rivers and historic sites and a village with only six residents was very special indeed. Our driver Ricardo was simply 10* plus!! He was very relaxed, nothing was too much trouble and his driving was exceptional in some very scary terrain!! It was like a real life rollercoaster! the extras were an added bonus like a stop at a really old family run cookie shop and a drink at the end of tour . Thanks Ricardo for going over and above for us today . We will be recommending this trip to any of our friends visiting Porto

Not only was the tour absolutely breathtaking, our amazing tour guide was extremely friendly and went out of the way to make sure we were all comfortable! This made our experience a lot more relaxing and enjoyable! I’m sure we would all go 100 times if we could!!

My daughter has always loved Landrovers so finding this Land Rover Adventure tour in Porto was a wonderful surprise for her. Happily, the tour exceeded our expectations in every sense. We were collected in an off road specially kitted out Land Rover Discovery from our hotel and then taken into the mountains above Porto stopping to look at historical sites as well as biscuit tasting, old Roman remains, a mountain village and other points of interest. The off roading part was hair raising with some really steep ascents and descent along unpaved roads. My daughter loved it and so did I. Our guide and driver was Ricardo, who was genuinely exceptional in every sense quite apart from being trilingual. This was a great adventure with interesting stops and we were treated to a refreshment at the end and of course a bag of biscuits to take home! I would thoroughly recommend this tour.

The tour was safe/interesting with wonderful scenery to enjoy as well as the exciting route taken to get to and from the scenes . The tour guide was very hospitable and made sure everyone was comfortable throughout the whole tour.

My wife and I went on this tour and it was a beautiful experience. Josué was very friendly, funny, and knowledgeable of the history of Portugal and the mountain which we explored, as well as nature. This excursion was exciting and informative at the same time which isn’t always easy to find! Also, it was nice to find a tour that was different than a typical wine tasting in Porto. 10/10 would recommend to everyone!!

Ricardo is full of knowledge of the entire areas and top notch experience in driving through the mountain. Be ready for an adventure on the 4x4! What even made this tour even more special is how Ricardo took us to visit the locals including family owned businesses for many many years. Tour with Josue. Went with 2 friends and had a fabulous time. Josue was very friendly and informative. Far exceeded my expectations. A more enjoyable trip than any of the boat ride trips. Would definitely recommend this trip.

What an amazing experience. Great local knowledge and Josue went out of his way to ensure we had a great time. We saw a different side of Porto and got to see the mountains. Didn't know what to expect but it far exceeded my expectations. Better than any boat ride.

Incredible! I got this tour for my teenage son, but my mom and I ended up loving it just as much as he did. We got picked up at our hotel in a cool Land Rover. The ride to the mountains was short with some surprises on the way. You get an amazing view of Porto from the top of a mountain and then hold on tight! It you love a thrill, this tour is for you!

Josue has been the absolute best tour guide and wheelman! The mountains are a short 20 minute drive away, with little surprises in between. If you like nature and a thrill, this is the perfect tour. The offload trails are incredible. We had so much fun.

Our guide was excellent. He knew the area and the trails very well and we felt secure with his skills.

Ricardo was our guide for this day. He was extremely knowledgeable and took very good care of us on our day trip to the mountains. We loved off roading in the mountains to see the Eucalyptus trees. The little village we went to was lovely and was able to experience the local culture. We would 1,000% recommend this tour if you’re in Porto

Wonderful time with Joshua in this off road tour. It was great to get out of the city, to see some mountain life and the views were exceptional. Learned so much of Portuguese history and culture. The ride was also very exhilarating! Thank you. We would highly recommend this tour.

I highly recommend this activity, It was so much fun and beautiful! Josué was an amazing guide and he was so nice to my son that kept thanking me for taking him in this tour! Josué also has such a great playlist that made a difference and also the place we stopped for a drink was just so charming. I just have good things to say, just do it :)

We learned a lot and Ricardo is passionate about the area he has lived in all his life. We started at the oldest biscuit and bread bakery which was great, as was the village and church. We then went up into the hills on rough tracks and saw the old gold mines which were fascinating. Ricardo pointed out cork trees and explained the harvesting. The drive itself was fun and interesting with several view points - just wait for the “roller coaster”! We finished with a visit to an almost deserted hamlet on the El Camino and listened to the frogs singing in the river - there were literally thousands of tiny froglets emerging from the river and crossing the road (we were lucky to see this seasonal activity). Then on to a drink at a rustic cafe where we met locals cooking lunch on an open fire while the cats looked on with hope. My husband who generally doesn’t like trips decided it was the best trip he had ever been on. Before the trip Ricardo sent text messages to us regarding meeting him at the dock gate and we found him with no trouble. A week after we got back home he followed up with another text message to send us photos and wish us well. We wish him well also for the future. Definitely recommend this trip if you want to see a piece of genuine Portugal without the crowds.

It was awesome. Ricardo was an excellent driver and tour guide for our excursion. He picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel which was very convenient. There were just 6 of us including Ricardo which led to friendly conversation and making it a fun event.

Was the adult family favorite tour. Joshua (spelling?) our guide was so nice, informative and funny. The music selection was perfect for the ride. The stops along the way (cookie factory, 6 population village and drink stop were great. The ride was fun with the too down. Great getaway from the city for a few hours.

Truly spectacular! You are taken outside of the city and climb a mountain in a 4x4. That should be enough on itself. But there are stops along the way where Ricardo ( the best guide ever) explains the history behind all of the local villages. The views were second to none but the ride was nothing like I expected. Standing up in a 4x4 while descending a rocky road on a mountain in Portugal is something that wasn't on the bucket list, but I can check that one off. Thanks again Ricardo. Everyone needs to do this!

We did 5 tours in 5 days, Duoro Valley Wine, Tuk Tuk Tour Lisbon, Sintra, Duoro River Sunset Cruise, but this was by far our best trip!! Ricardo is very knowledgeable, gives you an in-depth understanding of the area, the mines, types of plants and you will get the best views in Portugal. His wealth of the local neighborhood came through and his kindness was appreciated. This is a must, explore the land via a true 4x4 experience!!

Josue gave us a great tour of the mountain area outside of Porto , great knowledge of area , we went to a village population 6 cookie store (tasting) , fabulous views of mountains, Porto , valley and rivers stopped in a bar just before heading back to Porto Communication was great before the tour started as we had booked the day before (it was raining ) and Josue rescheduled pick up and drop off right on time THANK YOU

Unexpected! The driver drove the 4x4 along gnarly roads in a hilly area (not fabulously scenic but truly gnarly!) to a terrific viewpoint over metro Porto. Then, a stop at a truly local cafe for a quaff. Felt very personal and genuine. Just enough hair raising ride.

Josu is a terrific guide and shares his knowledge of the Portuguese culture. He took us to his favorite local spots, and gave us the history of each. The 4x4 mountain tour in his beautiful Range Rover was spectacular!

The ride down the mountain was a blast! My first off-road experience.

An utterly brilliant tour. A mix of everything- a bit of local culture, breathtaking scenery and some pretty exhilarating off roading. I would definitely recommend for those visiting Porto who want something a little different
