Itinerary
It was in the Porto and in the North regions that Portugal was founded in the 12th century and the Portuguese became a people and a nation. Porto, a World Heritage city, is the gateway and departure point for a journey across the natural and cultural diversity of the region. It is known for the Port wine which is shipped from here all over the world, but also for a heritage which combines ancient churches and monuments, such as the Cathedral and the Church of São Francisco, and modern buildings, such as Casa da Música and the Serralves Museum. Discover this amazing city with our professional guide on our comfortable transportation.
Porto Cathedral, like the first band of city walls, was born in the 12th century by initiative of its first bishop, D. Hugo. The temple is also known as the church of Santa Maria do Porto, de Nossa Senhora do Porto da Eterna Salvação or Nossa Senhora da Vandoma – which attests to the importance the Marian cult has. Our guide will introduce you to Porto and Portugal history and will explain the archictecture of the building from the exterior and show you incredible views of the river and the wine cellars in Gaia.
The S. Bento Railway Station was built at the beginning of the twentieth century on the exact location of the former Convent of S. Bento de Avé-Maria. The glass and iron structure was designed by the architect Marques da Silva. The vestibule is adorned with twenty thousand tiles painted by Jorge Colaço that illustrate the transport evolution and events of Portuguese history and life. Our guide will explain you the Portuguese history ilustrated on those titles
The Historic Centre of Porto, the oldest area of the city and classified as World Heritage by UNESCO since 1996, is comprised of the civil parishes of Sé, Vitória, São Nicolau and Miragaia (including the Porto Wine Lodges). Dating back to Mediaeval times, and despite all the changes over the years, the Historic Centre of Porto maintains its unique urban characteristics, which are a world apart from other European cities. We will now take you on a walking tour through the typical streets in this part of the city, where you'll notice various monuments of incalculable cultural wealth and value, as though time had stood still in the Middle Ages!
Genuine baroque work by Nicolau Nasoni, an ex-libris monument of the city of Porto. The Church of Clérigos (Ecclesiastics) is a genuine baroque masterpiece dating from the mid-18th century. It was designed by Nicolau Nasoni, an architect of Italian origin. He stamped his mark on many monuments around Oporto and the north of Portugal. Nasoni, on his request, was buried here in a small chapel with its gateway at the same level as the top of the double bolster stairway.
Now its time to discover the Port Wine Lodges at Vila Nova de Gaia Port wine is born in the valley of the River Douro, but it is beside the city that gave it its name that it ages and gains the flavour that makes it quite unmistakable. The river has always been used to transport the wine barrels to the quays of Vila Nova de Gaia, where the lodges are clustered in which the wine ages before being marketed worldwide. You will get a Guided visit to a renown Port Wine Lodge in Gaia, getting to know the history and process of production of this unique wine. To end our morning part of the tour and to open your appetite for lunch, you will be able to taste and try different Port Wines samples.
back to Porto, feel free to go lunch.
After lunch, Grab your camera, relax and enjoy the views of Porto and Gaia from the Douro river. On board of a traditional "Rebelo" boat, you will sail through the 6 bridges that cross the river into Porto.
To fully discover Porto and its history you must go to Foz do Douro. Facing the Atlantic you'll be struck by an incredible quality of life, the utmost romantic walks where every evening sun and sea merge into one spectacular climax. These beaches proudly display the blue flag eco-label, a sign of high quality unpolluted seawater. Take a stroll under the "Pergola da Foz" built in the 1930s. As the story goes, the Mayor of Porto’s wife at the time, had been so enchanted by the pergola of the "Promenade des Anglais » in the French town of Nice that she simply had to have the same in Porto. Here it is called the "Praia dos Ingleses" a reminder that the English (and other British citizens!) have always enjoyed a close relationship with Portugal.
We'll end our tour discovering the modern part of the city. Boavista area, with the impressive Casa da Musica building, the biggest avenue that has the name of the area and the city park. Your guide will give you the farewell taking you back to the meeting point or to your accommodation (when selected)

Great guide Carlos, and driver Rui
We really enjoyed our tour with Aldrin. He was very knowledgeable and gave us a thorough tour. Highly recommend him and the Porto tour.
Excellent way to spend a day in Porto. Very knowledgeable and friendly guide (we had Diego); skilled driver (Ferrero) and easy pace. The river cruise / 7 bridges tour is a highlight. Port tasting was just enough information and alcohol for the late morning. Lunch recommendation outstanding in Ribera. Cannot wait to get back to Porto!
Very good your- value for money
The group was larger than I expected (26 people) and it was in Spanish and English but our guide Christian was excellent and did a great job of making sure everyone was taken care of. Highly recommend.
Booked an English Language tour. Put into an English & Spanish - the guide split his time between the two languages, leaving us waiting half the time. The 10 hour tour was also cut short at 8 hours…
This was a wonderful all encompassing Tour that we enjoyed so very much . Our guide Menu was very knowledgeable and enjoyable to be with . we had a lovely day
Excellent tour of Porto with experienced professional. Very knowledgeable with an amazing command of the English language. Highly recommend.
Interesting and insightful it was enjoyable
Héldar was our guide! I can absolutely recommend him. History facts, fluent English and good humour!
Carlos Chavez was knowledgeable, friendly and kind. He made our trip fun! We had a great time. Thank you!
Carlos and Marcia gave us a great tour with lots of history. It was a fantastic introduction to the city and they really showed their love and pride for Porto.
Overall, the description of the tour was very accurate with the actual experience. That said, our guide (Carlos) made for a very disappointing experience. After nearly 10 hours, I know little more than I did prior to the tour. He was impossible to hear. He had a microphone he didn't speak directly in to. When several members of the tour group brought it to his attention, he was defensive. He made very little attempt to adjust and then walked and talked so only those next to him could hear. Half the tour just gave up attempting to hear anything. It wasn’t worth the time or money spent.
Carlos and Marcia has been very friendly, well known about the story of Porto. We want to add that Carlos has been very proactive as he has been doing the tour in English and Spanish. Thanks Carlos and Marcia.
Carlos and Marcia were fantastic! Carlos provided us with wonderful and colorful history of the locations - would highly recommend this full day walking tour with bridges cruise!
Carlos and Marcela were a good guide/driver combo, knowledgeable kind and safe.
Daniella (guide) was absolutely AMAZING. Her knowledge, kindness, and humour, were top notch!!! Highly recommend. Franco (driver) was sooo great.
Had a great experience. We had Daniela and Franco and they were both stellar. Thoroughly enjoyed Daniela's explainations and sense of humour. The trip overall was great. Highly recommend!
Daniela and Franco were awesome guide and driver!
On September 24, 2026 we booked a full day in Porto. Our guide was the very worst…he walked so fast and NEVER looked back so many people who couldn’t keep up got lost and couldn’t rejoin the group, he did not stop at the train station, which was on the tour, we had to ask when we were leaving the port tasting because he was on his phone, which made us so late that we had only 5 minutes at the promenade area. Instead of 1 1/2 hour for lunch we had 50 minutes. Again, he had no idea who or how many were on the tour. He barely spoke to anyone except for the young girl he was supposedly mentoring. He said he doesn’t usually give large tours because he does mainly small family tours where he makes more money. He said his name was Tiago, but we think it was Carlos. He is NOT a positive representation of your company!! Everyone on the bus was beyond upset and so disappointed.
Worst tour guide! Tiago or James, he went by both, did not communicate and was always 2 blocks ahead of us. If it wasn't for the others on the tour that posted people at turns we would have been completely left behind. I mentioned on our first stop that 2 older Spanish speaking people did not realize he stopped and had gone clear across the bridge. His response "well they are on their own then". At the next stop we did lose one of them. She couldn't keep up. They sent one gal back to look for her but she was not located and we just left without her. After the boat tour we were the last ones off the boat and he was already 2 blocks away. There is no way we could catch him so we just stopped the tour at that point. Two other ladies also quit the tour then as well. He is a fit young guy so I understand he is going to be faster than us but the problem is that he never gathered us as together as a group before he took off. He was in the front of the bus and got off first and started walking while the rest of us (30 people) were still on the bus trying to get off. So we were strung out over 2-3 blocks and could not see him or see where he turned. The reason we booked a tour was to have a guided tour not chase him up and down steep hills with out being able to even look up from the cobblestone walkways in fear we were going to trip. It was not enjoyable at all. All 19 of the English speakers in our group were under the impression that the walking portion was optional as it says it can be taken on a different day. However, our group started with the walking (actually running) tour and there were several older people in our group. It lasted 2 1/2 hours before we got on a bus. The bus did not pick us up at the designated spot, no we had to run another 5 blocks just to get on the bus!! There are many more things I could harp on but I think this is enough.
Bruno A was very good! We liked him a lot. The Port wine tasting and tour was fun! However, the first part of the tour we thought we would be seeing more. We stood in front of the cathedral for an hour without learning very much about it and did not go in. Then we walked through the subway twice (appreciated the short cut) and went to the train station. Not learning the history about the train station but only about the story behind one of the pictures. The story was nice but we expected to see and learn more history and sites than what we did.
There is a lot of walking up and down the hills / steps of Porto so come prepared. Group size was 8 and about right. A combined Spanish / English tour which our guide (sorry I didn't grab his name but he was great) managed perfectly. A great way to have the various sights of Porto 'stitched' together. We did a lot but we weren't rushed, even managed a trip to Foz. Six bridges boat trip was a little crowded as a number of groups merged but it wasn't cramped.
Carlos was a fantastic guide.
In depth tour of city and surrounding area. Included walking tour bus tour and a boat tour of the river.
The experexience was really good, we enjoy the day
Fantastic tour! I only has 1 day in Porto so this was a great way to see it. They brought to multiple places, free time for lunch, boat ride, and a wine tasting. The tour guide was also phenomenal - giving us tone of information along the way. Happy I booked this tour, highly recommend.
The tour was presented in Portuguese and English, i would have preferred only English since time was "wasted" waiting for the translation. More sights could have been covered. I enjoyed the Wine experience and the Douro River Cruise
Daniela is a kind experienced guide who has adapt as much as possible to our preference
Daniela was great and very friendly.
Good experience but a bit too long. Got to experience the Douro wineries and food. Relaxing tour and very good guide.
FANTASTIC, loved the tour and the guide Carlos , was generous, friendly, knowledgeable and fun!!! Marcia , the driver, was AMAZING!!! My family and I really enjoyed the traditional Portuguese lunch
Excellent tour guide Carlos and Marcia. I would recommend using wireless earphones for the city tour. It was difficult to hear because the size of the group.
This was a good sized group and a good length of time to spend the day. The boat was really nice with great views. Our guide Felipe was great!
Long traveling day which is expected, but 2 great wine tasting experiences with a nice dining experience. View was gorgeous and boating trip was pleasant. The guide was great and knowledgeable.
Daniella (guide) and Jorge( driver) were excellent! Lot’s of information with great insight (bilingual english and spanish) …😎. Great tour of both sides of the Duro !
Very informative and fun and you get to see a lot of places! Make sure to eat breakfast beforehand though because you will have a late lunch
Andre and Daniela were excellents guides
Daniela was an excellent tour guide. Very informative, vast wealth of knowledge with the city. She went beyond me our expectations! Very friendly and personable!
Fantastic full day trip.Anabela was knowledgeable, professional, friendly and passionate about Porto.
Hank was an excellent guide and the wine tasting is a wonderful experience. The tour was English only and a French couple was added to the group. You should not advertise this as English only if that is not the case.
Excellent tour of Porto, guided by the fantastic Diego who walks you through a lot of tips and information, and a fantastic tasting of the Porto wine.
Great 5 Daniela Cost very good ratio Very well balanced
Fantastic experience, definitely worth making a day of it while you're in Porto. Well organised by Alexandre and Anna who were friendly, entertaining and knowledgeable. Great value for money considering everything that's included.
It was a great experience! Miguel our tour guide was amazing! I would highly recommend!
This was a great tour. Saw so much of Porto. The guide Diego was excellent . He was helpful as I walk with a cane and he constantly made sure I was ok as did Meyko the bus driver . He was a great driver. They are very knowledgeable and pleasant . Would recommend This day tour for anyone it was a great value for the price with professionals that know what they are doing. Thanks for the great day
The trip was incredible, and our guide Kiko was excellent! He gave us detailed information about every single place we went to. He was very reliable and supportive! Recommend 100%!
Carlos was a great guide and Marcia and excellent driver. Carlos has an excellent sense of humour and really brought the tour alive with his knowledge and anecdotal manner in which he told us about the different sites. And the cruise just finished off an informative and fun day. Will definitely book this tour again.
Carlos and Mercia were great host!!
