Absolutely phenomenal tour with Ana Maria. It was meant to be a small-group tour but ended up being just me, and I’m so grateful that she still took the time to do the full tour rather than cancelling. She is incredibly knowledgeable about Porto’s history and architecture, and happily answered every single one of my many questions! She also went above and beyond with recommendations for places to visit, photo spots, things to do and even where to find Porto’s jazz scene. More than anything, it felt less like being on a tour and more like going for a walk with a friend who happens to know an incredible amount about the city. From the big historical events and how they shaped the Old Town, to architecture, street art and all the little details you might otherwise walk straight past, it was fascinating. By the end, Ana Maria was even giving me recommendations based on what she’d worked out I would personally enjoy. Such a wonderful way to spend an afternoon in Porto — fabulous tour guide and genuinely fabulous person. Really, really enjoyed this one!
We did a Walked with Harold. Amazing guide, he has a lot of knowledge, he gave us amazing recomendtions and the tours is breathtaking. Great views great history.
realy good experience. can't fault it. learnt and saw things we'd never have been aware. our guide was so enthusiastic she realy seemed to enjoy it.
Was very good. He was good at the history and knew so much about town. It was casual and so it was enjoyable because it was like someone familiar telling you about their town. Helped me understand the city and how the history affects its culture. I highly recommend
Natalia is a lovely and kind guide, her explanations and knowledge are great. I recomend this if you want to learnt about past history of Porto.
This is THE perfect way to start a few days in Porto as it gives you a good grounding for the city and what you might want to see if you haven't done your research. An easy downhill walk of just over two hours with lots of information and helpful tips. Our guide was superb really knowledgeable which is more than can be said for me as I've forgotten his name !!! Just a great trip. Don't forget though this is their living and your 'tip' needs to reflect their overheads
Toured with an Irish dude with an impossible to pronounce name. Great guide who gave us historical, socio-political, and geographically significant tidbits about this great city. Well-paced and thoughtful, Irish dude articulated various enclaves within the city, their juxtaposition with their neighboring enclaves, highlighting funny, and sometimes poignant and introspective commentary on the inhabitants over the centuries. Exactly what you want from a seasoned tour guide. Definitely take this tour and look for the Irish dude with the name thats impossible to pronounce.
Harold was our guide. He was very enthusiastic and guided us nicely in Porto Ribeira pointing us very interesting little spots and sharing lots of history of Porto and Portugal.
This was our second tour with Revolutours in the same day, booked because we had enjoyed the first so much. The Old Town and Ribeira tour was excellent, and gave us insight into the early history of Porto and life in Porto in recent years. Our guide, Caoi O'Dochartaigh, was splendid -- well informed, funny, and willing to take as much time as needed to answer all of our questions and give us suggestions for the rest of our trip. Highly recommended -- a real highlight of our trip to Porto.
Our guide, Cuai was amazing. He had great knowledge about Porto and it's history. He was funny enough to make people forget the pain from 2 hours of walking. Would highly recommend!!
We did two tours in two days, both were excellent . Our guides, Harold and Sophia were knowledgeable, interesting and engaged really well with us all. They went at a good pace. It was warm but we took plenty water and there was shade when we stopped to listen. Would highly recommend
Our second walk with Harold this week and we couldn’t be happier! His is an amazing guide and brings the city to life with information, stories and history. Once again we left the tour feeling so in touch with the city - this time the Old Town & Ribeira! Fantastic walking tour - highly recommend and hope you are lucky enough to get Harold as your guide.
Harold is so nicexand knowledgeable. An amazing guy. He took the time to explain and answer questions. Nice guy. He helped us with our train plans. So nice.
Great tour of Ribeira and the Old Town! We didn’t know about Porto’s incredibly rich and fascinating history, and this tour made us fall in love with the city and want to come back to learn even more. Our guide was Harold, and from the way he spoke about Porto, it was clear how passionate and knowledgeable he is about the city’s history. We were impressed by how many cultural and historical facts he shared, and he was always kind and willing to answer any of our questions. Kudos to him for handling the terrible weather conditions that day with such professionalism and enthusiasm. We highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants a great snapshot and overview of Porto. In just a few hours, you’ll see the city with completely different eyes. Thanks to Harold and the tour company for this wonderful experience!
Had JC as guide. Eccelent stories and anekdotes. Recomend to everyone to go on this tour, especially if you have interest in history on Porto
Our guide to as Jorge Crespo and he was really great. He was friendly, easy going and very knowledgeable. He told us many interesting and funny stories along the way - he’s a great storyteller. On our tour we mostly walked downhill which was great. We also had kids with us and he had no issues entertaining everyone.
Very knowledgeable , happy & enthusiastic guide. Who explained the history of the area and Portugal. Answered any questions and shared informative information about the city.
Interesting and informative guide was fun and knowlegeable. I was a bit disappointed that despite booking and printing our tickets, my name could not be found…
The storytelling was my favorite part! Ines was a lovely tour guide and answered all our questions, paused in several locations to share history, and was so friendly! First time in Porto and it was a great experience!
I had no expectations given it was a free walking tour but I was in for a wonderful surprise. Our guide Adriano is very intuitive and knowledgeable, with a sense of humour too. His storytelling of the history was casual and easily understood and absorbed. He also shared fun facts along the way and took time to share recommendations on food, places to visit etc.
Andre was exceptional in the way he conducted the tour through the old town Rebeira. His amazing knowledge of history and events that happened right here in this beautiful historic town makes everything come to life and one can sense the suspense of constant changes that happened. Thank you from a German visitor who will be back for more.
We did the old city and Ribeira tour with Manuel. It was a magnificent experience with him. He tells you the history of the city with a lot of humor and makes you participate a lot. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. We are going to do the 3 free tours with them and so far the 2 have not disappointed us.
Carolina was the one who conducted the tour. Excellent! I recommend it. Passionate. Beautiful way to describe the city of Porto.
Spectacular. Borja González is a wonderful guide; first of all, the explanations he gives show that he knows what he is talking about, and he is also a very approachable person who takes you around the sites, explaining everything and worrying about each of the people he is leading. Very professional.
We took the tour with Almudena. An excellent guide who gave us a lot of information and great tips.
Excellent tour, very complete and super interesting. We loved the explanations and the stories told by Pedro, the guide. Highly recommended if you want to get to know Porto with a local guide.
I did the ja Ribeira tour with Ramón and it was great!! He told us a lot of interesting and everyday facts plus historical information and we had a very nice time. Highly recommended!!
We loved the tour with Carolina. Nice, dynamic and with lots of historical and cultural information about Porto. Great recommendations you have made to us: We ate at Casa Adao and it was great. Come back!
Guide Felipe, great. A very pleasant, pleasant and perfect afternoon to get to know that neighborhood of Porto. Good connoisseur and perfect recommendations to eat. We listened to him and got it right.
Arm yourself with good shoes (it climbs) and a good city plan and discover beautiful monuments and all these pretty houses with colorful earthenware walls! To discover you will not be disappointed, take the time it takes! Have an eye everywhere!!!
Wonderful to know the narrow streets of the city. The most authentic part. The very top guide and knowledgeable of the history and people who live here
The old city an unmissable route, as you enter the heart of the city, walk through the small streets, old and colorful houses, know stories about the places among many facts and recommendations make the route a wonder. If you come to Porto, the tour of the old city is something not to miss!
Highly recommended. The guide, Lucas, made the free tour very entertaining and explained everything with sloppiness. The tour lasted about 2h and we passed through different areas with many drops. The hard part was climbing the climbs but luckily we took the funicular that came great.
After having arbitrarily cancelled the free tour we wanted to do (review already written) we took this tour of the old town. The day was very rainy, however our guide Jonathan put all his good will to make the experience very satisfying. We visited very interesting places and met parts of the city that without a guide with great knowledge like Jonathan it would have been impossible to know.
Free tour old part of Porto and Ribeira Guide: Borja What a show!!!...it is a real machine to explain everything super clear and makes it super enjoyable, you can tell that he likes his work I said goodbye to him telling him that the university has missed an exceptional professor!!!! Thank you Borja and thank you Revolutours
