Port Wine Lodges Tour Including 7 Port Wine Tastings (English)

This was a wonderful tour with a knowledgeable and entertaining guide and a friendly group of 12 attendees from across the globe. We visited 3 nice lodges all walking distance from the meeting spot in Porto which was the perfect amount of time for the tour with the right amount of time at each spot.

We had a great experience, our guide Alejandro was the best. We learnt a lot with him but it was also a really funny time. Recommended 100%

Alexandre was an amazing tour guide for our port wine tour. He was on time, professional, accommodating, and hilarious. He was very knowledgeable about port wine and the cities of Porto and Gaia, Portugal, providing great recommendations during and after the tour for places to eat and drink. His English was amazing which was a big plus. Highly recommend this tour and him specifically!

I learned so much about Port wine and it's history in Porto. Lara was so knowledgeable and enjoyable.

What a wonderful experience with Alex visiting 3 separate port houses including one medium one and 2 smaller ones. He explained the process and history of port across the region. His Dad jokes made the experience even better and his experiences of growing up in Gaia added a personal touch. He’s very knowledgeable and I thoroughly enjoyed the time with him and the other attendees. Was great to get to know a couple of families from the US. Definitely recommend 😀

Amazing tour and guide. Very informative, but still fun and entertaining.

It was ok but I think I could have done it on my own. Too many sweet wines with no food - dry crackers were useless. I was disappointed as I had heard a lot of people enjoyed this activity - I must have chosen the wrong one.

You will learn a lot about port and taste some great ports. Might want to eat something before...a little food on the stomach before drinking fortified wine.

Our guide was Chico. He was professional, articulate and very knowledgeable. The tour was very enjoyable, the Port tastings were excellent and it was all done in a very relaxed and unhurried way. Would recommend.

Very nice tour. Took a little long to get to first winery and had a little too much spare time there after our tasting, but rest of tour was great. Our guide Francisco was terrific. He was friendly, funny, knowledgeable and a great ambassador for not only Porto but all of Portugal. Would definitely recommend this tour.

Good tour with a variety of lodges large and small. Guide was excellent with much insight and a lot of fun. I knew a bit about port wine but learned a lot on the tour.

Our guide Alex, was very knowledgeable about Port wine, wine making and the local regions. He provided great insight into the Portuguese wine making industry and the local area. What a great tour, sensational port, really good guide and personalised tour. Thoroughly recommend it.

What a great way to learn about Port and taste along the way! Alex provided my husband and myself a great experience in Gaia. We learned the history of Port Wine, the different types and had numerous tastings. Alex was engaging, energetic and fun! We would recommend this tour to all!

Alex was our tour guide and kept us laughing and enjoying the sights and wine houses in Gaia. We met great people and would highly recommend this tour.

It was nice to have the option to taste port from 3 different producers. The tour was quite slow with a lot of down time between venues. It was hard to understand the guide at times with his faster talking and a larger group of 17.

We looked at lots of tours but so glad i opted for this one. Alex was excellent at keeping everyone engaged, lots of knowledge & was great fun. 3 fantastic Cellars & some amazing Port Wine we really enjoyed it & well worth it.

Had a great afternoon with Cyril our excursion leader. He was very informative and friendly. We met at the old bridge and walked across to the port cellars in Gaia. We had a detailed talk first about Portugals wines and then went upstairs for 2 tastings. We then went and had two more tastings of 2 and 4 ports. The second one had bread and cheese with it. It was a great way to spend an afternoon, Cyril made it very interesting and the area we went to was lovely. Would definitely recommend

Alex was a very personable, knowledgeable, and helpful guide. We thoroughly enjoyed his commentary and the effort he put in to get to know each of us in the group and to make sure we all got to know each other. The wines were all enjoyable and were arranged in an ideal order to ensure that each one was better than the last one. We highly recommend Alex and Porto Walkers.

A lovely walking tour to each port tasting. Our guide Cyril (I hope I have it right) was great! The dad jokes and all jokes were well received, his knowledge on Porto and wine making process was fascinating. He answered all questions even the silly ones. Definitely recommend asking for him to take you on the tour of Porto.

Really good tour lead by someone who was passionate about port wine. In all we twisted 7 different ports in three different venues.

A very interesting tour. Our guide Alex made it both interesting and fun. The first and last tastings were excellent- the middle one less so but that’s just my opinion. We had a fun group of mixed nationalities and ages and everyone got on. Do suggest you take some snacks with you to go along with the tastings. Something sweet like biscuits and something savoury like walnuts and cheese. Our guide Alex was absolutely amazing- thank you Alex for a fab afternoon

Great introduction to Port wine. Our guide was knowledgeable. Seemed a bit long and started late due to people late showing up. Directions to starting point were misleading and we got lost.

Alex certainly taught us a lot about port, the different varieties and flavours. A great afternoon with a great group of people. I wasnt a port drinker before, but I'll certainly use what I've learnt in looking for my favourite flavour.

This was an outstanding tour. Best I’ve had. Pleasant walk, not strenuous. Learning about port in great detail was fascinating. Made new friends and sampled fabulous port wines. Alex was a phenomenal guide. I would do this tour again in a heartbeat.
